The last thread was three years old, so we decided to have a fresh start.

Ooh, new community thread. Hello everyone! I keep forgetting to enable "email notification of replies" on these so I tend to have no idea whether or not people are talking to me. My bad, lol
Release+ will be sorely missed, but at least I freed up a slot on my Shine Recorder; and got an Insect Shard, to boot. Also WHOA I just hatched this. https://gpx.plus/info/vjeJz Those IVs aren't bad! I hope the raffle event's treated everyone well. -------------------- |

Does anyone else never know what to vote for for the shiny hunt? I've ended up just closing my eyes and scrolling through to pick a random 'mon.

Oh! Nice to see a fresh start on the community thread.
Lets see, yes it can be difficult to choose a shiny for the hunt because there are so many that I still need I'm not sure which one would be good for the site-wide shiny hunt. I just random pick one on my future shiny hunts list. I'm creating some fresh goals for myself to reach on GPXplus when it comes to interactions, hatching eggs, and activity score. Though I don't know if I'm going to break any of my records, I may try though. -------------------- GPXplus Groups Joined (click to show ) Contest Ribbons and Credits (click to show ) |

Yeah, I really don't know either. Last SWSH I picked Applin (+2 filler slots w/ Basculin) because I knew I wanted all 3 of them and to potentially block a slot from Rookidee, which I was hunting at the time. There's also a point to voting for pokemon that give you shards. But given that usually Galar pokemon make it in (none of which offer me much in terms of shards) I'll vote for Blipbug/Pincurchin. If anybody wants me to vote for anything in particular, feel free to ask.
I suspect Rookidee/Wooloo/Blipbug will win in a landslide, though. Prove me wrong! This post has been edited by Professor Eucalyptus: Jan 1 2021, 06:11 PM -------------------- |

Oh wow, had no idea the last thread was that old. Nice to see a new one! Hoping to spend more time on the site than I have in the last few years.
RE: SWSH - I ended up choosing Wooloo, Pinchin, and Rookidee. I should really get started on the video game but I've been mostly playing Animal Crossing NH. -------------------- |

When I don't have a good idea of what I want to vote for for SWSHs, I usually look back at the vote totals for the most recent one and vote for whatever the next-most popular ones were that I don't have yet.
I haven't had to do that for the past few months, though, with the new Galar Pokemon being rolled out. I have been expecting Wooloo to be one of the ones picked this month, and I don't typically like the stress of a SWSH with three shinies I need, so I went ahead and hunted Wooloo in December to get it out of the way. With that in mind, I voted for Blipbug/Yamper/Wooloo but would also be happy with either Pincurchin or Duraludon in place of Yamper, as those are the remaining Galar 'mons I still need. -------------------- |

Does anyone else never know what to vote for for the shiny hunt? I've ended up just closing my eyes and scrolling through to pick a random 'mon. ooh, nice ivs on it Oh, definitely. And ack, my email didn't notify me that people were replying to me. I ended up voting for Corphish, Venonat, and Blipbug this month. Yes, two of three happen to be some of my favorite Pokémon, and I don't need Shards for any of them until I decide to do DotW for the first [and probably only] time, but I figure at least Blipbug has a good chance of winning. Maybe I'll level up the Regi a bit before sticking it in the Battle Tower, not sure really. I need a good Steel-Type, and I can't find a decent Ferrothorn. Also...the Hoopa are stalking me again, I've gotten 2 within 2 days. Someone send help, lol This post has been edited by AregularFrankiefan: Jan 2 2021, 09:22 PM -------------------- |

Got to enjoy some birthday ice cream and snacks the other day, so hey, if anything else, something good has happened this month despite all the chaos. Now, I'm just trying to find me a shiny legendary. It'll pop up eventually, I'm hoping.

Have you ever wanted to get in on the ground floor of something? I have, and it's the new community thread
I've hatched one of each SWSH option, so I'm doing pretty well. -------------------- |

I've just opened 500 chests and knocked out Perfect 10 - hoping that I have enough trinkets to send out my first Sky Gift(s) today!

I don't have a Switch and will not be getting one because I'm not made out of money, but I feel like this year's Pokémon Day reveal was a step in the right direction in terms of the games not becoming more and more stale. Might watch some YouTube playthroughs when the time comes; Pokémon Legends: Arceus is especially an interesting concept, and I hope it won't suffer from being visually boring like a fair amount of open-world games are.
In other news it's been quite literally a month and a half since I last ordered [through a family member, still no bank account legally] something from the U.S. Pokémon Center website. It never showed up, and yet the person kind enough to order for me got charged for the items 3 times...Ack. I've paid him back, but it still sucks. -------------------- |

Pokemon Legends : Arceus is presented as a "bold new direction" but I fear it will be in the wrong way. The Diamond/Pearl game is a remaster and I'm still playing Platinum from time to time so I don't really have an interest in it. I think it's more for players who came to the licence after. It reminds me the Zelda: Link's Awakening remaster, though the latter was adding more graphically to the old version as it was a monochrome low resolution game.
Otherwise, I finally finished my blipbug shiny hunt started during last SWSH. And I've use my Heart Mail on a legend voucher and a Diancie. |

Hey all! good luck in advance with the SWSH!
I recently came back to the site after not being active for like 3 years, and I've been really enjoying it! I joined the Discord too, and am planning on actively participating in all the events, something I didn't do when I first played actively. See you guys around! On the topic of Arceus: Legends, like jeanmichel said, it could go both ways, amazing or a major let-down. Hope it's amazing of course, that way GameFreak might step out of it's comfort zone more easily. But we'll see when more information is availble. Personally I'm incredibly disappointed in the way the DP remakes look, and the only reason I would be getting them is a fun shiny-hunting method. Something like a new and improved PokéRadar. I have nothing against chibi artstyle in-game, but the overworld in the DP remakes looks worse than the originals (imo). |

Hi, I hope a quick release-advertising post is allowed.
I find myself in need of freeing up more space in my PC, so I'm planning to release 21 shinies that are duplicates of ones I already have. Most are relatively uninteresting (past SWSHs that most regulars already have, wrong-gender breedjects for gender-specific evolutions, etc) but I hope at least some of them will find new owners who want them. You can see these shinies in my SH-RELEASE box at the top of my "Pokemon" tab on my profile. I'll aim to click the release button at roughly 3pm US Eastern time (7pm UTC) on Thursday. I hope this gives people plenty of time to see this post and decide whether they want to stalk the shelter for any of the shinies. Best wishes! UPDATE 3/25: The shinies have been released! Good luck, shiny hunters! This post has been edited by pumpkinking0192: Mar 25 2021, 02:17 PM -------------------- |
