Global PokédeX Plus Forums _ Pokémon Debates _ Do you consider Manaphy a Legendary?

Posted by: MegaSinnohChampionEmpoleon May 16 2011, 09:02 PM

Do you? Some people consider it a legendary, but I haven't noticed it being that popular, like Mew and some of the others.

If Game Freak consider it as a legendary, then I consider it as a legendary. :/

Yes, they are event only

Posted by: Zekrom Master Jun 6 2011, 10:05 AM

I'd say yes.
Its a Legendary.

Posted by: SmugleafForever Jun 12 2011, 08:47 PM

Yes, it is a legendary.

There are very few Manaphy in the anime and Pokemon itself, as I know of.

Yes, I know Lugia, Deoxys and Celebi are exempt from that.

Beside the fact that Manaphy can lay eggs, it did star in a movie, didn't it? And that would mean it was a legendary. Unless, of course, you count the Kyogre in the Temple of the Sea the legend. grin.gif

Manaphy is. Phione, however, is not.

Posted by: rileyup Jun 19 2011, 03:03 PM

manaphy do lay eggs but they hatch into phione.and they are event pokemon.so they are legendary

Posted by: quomimi Jun 24 2011, 06:40 AM

I would say it is, yes. Usually legendary pkmn get their own movie. (unincluding the Lucario movie. Lucario seems legendary, but no. Just Mew.)

I concur

I believe it to be a legendary.

I think it is a legendary because not that many people have ranger or aren't that good at it.There is one fact people will say why they think it is not a legendary because it can breed. No legendaries breed is their proof

Posted by: SmugleafForever Jul 18 2011, 02:48 PM

Yes.

1) They call it a legendary in the handbooks.

2) They starred a movie in it, and each Pokemon movie had a legend. Manaphy must be this legend, unless you count the split-second Kyogre in there.

3) It had to be obtained via some special event. That makes Manaphy at least somewhat rare.

Although, I have to say, it is one of the less intelligent species of Pokemon.

A legendary, in my opinion, is any Pokémon you can only get one of in a game (excluding in-game trades for an exclusive to the other version). Manaphy can breed; however, its eggs hatch into Phione. Meaning that unless you went to multiple Manaphy events, you could only have one Manaphy.

tl;dr: Yes, I consider Manaphy a Legendary.

+1, even if i have six of then

Sadly the "event only" argument doesn't really work for it since we all know Zorua and Zoroark are event only and they're not legendary.

However, Manaphy itself, based on its stats, classifications and even Gamefreak's word has led me to believe that it is indeed a legendary.

Ditto.

I SAY IT'S A LEGIE SO IT'S A LEGIE AND THAT'S ALMOST THAT!

... and Game Freak says that too. SO THAT'S THAT!

@Zapi: No, that's almost true. You can get more by trades. And I once had 3 Manaphies. On GPX+.

Posted by: Razor the Tepig Sep 12 2011, 05:15 PM

Manaphy and Phione are legendaries. Volcarona, however, isn't, because you get tons of 'em without cheats, hacks or trading. AND because it evolves.

Posted by: Lugia182 Oct 19 2011, 08:38 AM

Just because it's not popular doesn't make it not a legendary... it is a legendary.

^ Phione, however, is not.

I'm sure all of that's been said before, but still

Posted by: Dark Heart Oct 23 2011, 01:08 AM

I definitely think it's a legendary.

Posted by: Me Gusta Oct 31 2011, 02:18 PM

satoshi says that it is, so it is.

Posted by: Midnight Melody Oct 31 2011, 02:47 PM

I agree it's a legendary.

Posted by: PawsrentOrigin Nov 2 2011, 04:03 PM

In my opinion, yes. It is very rare (you can only get it with a Ranger game), and GameFreak says it is. The only thing that says it isn't is that it can breed, but in the anime, legends have eggs. They based entire episodes on that fact. But Phione isn't a legendary. Just putting that out there.

Posted by: Voice of the Voiceless Dec 20 2011, 02:07 AM

Gamefreak says it is. Besides, it was the star of my favorite Pokemon movie, so yeah.

Posted by: mptiger Dec 20 2011, 07:36 AM

I don't see why it wouldn't be considered one. Because it is the only legendary known to breed?

Posted by: alexandredias1234 Jan 27 2012, 04:11 PM

I think it is a legendary happy.gif

Posted by: nerea2661996 Apr 4 2012, 01:31 PM

I think that it's a legendary pokemon, I read it somewhere, but i forgot :S

Posted by: Ffion the Bayntonette Apr 4 2012, 01:33 PM

Yah coz although you can breed it you can't breed Manaphy's
I say Manaphy's a legend coz you get one and thats it but Phione isn't coz you can breed as many as you want!

Posted by: lorks Aug 21 2012, 06:57 AM

it's officially a legendary, according to nintendo & gpx+ (lol), so yes, i do consider it a legendary.
