Chapter four: Sailors and a Golden Magikarp

Alex Slasher was having a boring day. He'd just left Daigake, a quite quiet town on the north-east coast of Furoh, and was now walking along the Northern road, towards another small town coming up, named Jillius. He wasn't going to spend long there, but thought it was worth the small visit, there was a famous Trainer who lived there, and Alex wanted a battle.

He sighed. He'd just said goodbye to Tom hawk, who he'd started to make very good friends with. Tom had been called back to home urgently by his mother. It was a shame, they were just about to go to Barley and from there to Fidona, where they were going to get their first gym badge. But Alex really wanted to be in Barley quickly, so he decided that the two would try to meet up sometime soon.

Alex ate his lunch, and then got back up again. Today was going to be quite a boring day if he got into Jillius quite late. But at least he had a small battle to look forward to.
---

A few miles away, in Barley, Ellis Mackrell, a young Sailor, was training his pokemon. He was battling water Pokemon in the sea, surfing on Golde, his Shiny Magikarp. He was having quite a nice time doing so.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a pure black ball was thrown, and hit Golde. Before Ellis could react, the ball was in a dark trainer's hand, and then the man in black was gone.

All Ellis could do was tread-water in shock.

The wind rustled along the road as Tyson was walking eastward to a crossroad, not knowing he would soon meet a trainer in this new world he was in. He held the map closely to his face, almost breathing in the ink seeing he had it so close to his nose.
"Ah man," Tyson muttered under his breath in disappointment, "I can't believe I'm lost." Tyson looked around and saw more road. "Maybe there's a town nearby...or another wandering trainer..." A Poke Ball busted open, revealing a brilliant light taking form. After a few seconds, Cyndaquil shook his head and yawned. Tyson smiled widely at his navy blue Pokemon. He rubbed Cyndaquil's head and picked him up. "Wanna get on my shoulder, buddy?"
"Cyndaquil!" the Pokemon responded. Cyndaquil then jumped onto Tyson's shoulder and got in a good sitting position so he could stay on.
"I guess so," Tyson stated with humor in his voice. He then began walking again, looking for someone with directions.

After thirty minutes of walking...

"Ah man," Tyson began to complain, "half an hour of walking, and nobody's around? This sucks..." The young trainer's feet began to hurt, causing him to sit down on a tree stump on the side of the main road. He took off his left shoe, letting it fall lazily to the ground. He then began to rub his feet, starting from his toes and working down to the heel. Soon, it was feeling a lot better. "How did I get in this situation, anyway?" Tyson thought about this to himself, finally realizing how.
Flashback to two weeks ago...

"Hey Dad," Tyson shouted to his father, before he headed back to his gym.
"What is it, Tyson?" his father responded.
"Well," Tyson began to become shy, but soon got over it, "where can I go to become a great Pokemon Trainer like you?"
"Oh, that's easy," his father responded, "You need to go to..."
Present Day

"Well, it's all my fault that I did this," Tyson said to himself, "but at least there's a town north of here. Maybe I'll run into someone..."

Tikal Faylen was taking a break just outside Barley. Her Nidoran and Totodile were next to her, enjoying a few Poffins she had prepared before the trip. Totodile however was out causing havoc as usual, never really able to sit still.
Tikal laid back on the grass and stared at the bits of sky showing from the tree canopy, lost in thought.
"Perhaps...some day, I'll get to see him again." she thought, closing her eyes. She couldn't wait to see her father again, having been gone for so long, and with her finally being able to get out into the world and explore, she thought that this would be easier. Or so she hoped.
A sudden cry caused her to sit up and look around, but it was only her Totodile, who was returning from his exploration.
"We should get moving...everyone, return!"
In a flash the trio disappeared into their respective Pokeballs, and Tikal continued on her journey towards town. She saw a bit of movement not too far away, a person. She ran towards the stranger, Alex, happy to finally see another person after her long travels.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 6 2009, 04:16 PM

Tyson put his left shoe back on his now well rested foot. He got up and adjusted his hat on his head so it would fit snugly while he ran.
"Well, let's roll, Cyndaquil!" Tyson yelled as he ran northward, seeing not one, but two people ahead of him. "Oh boy," he began, "travelers!" Tyson ran at full speed, trying to catch up with both the female and the male travelers. He rushed right by the girl, almost stumbling over a large rock right in front of him. He began to chuckle, but then tripped over a fallen tree branch. He landed on his face, sending Cyndaquil rolling towards the boy. Cyndaquil sat up, a medium sized bump on the top of his head.
"Cynda..."the fallen Pokemon said before rubbing his head. He looked up and saw the traveling young trainer. "Cyndaquil! Cynda, Cynda!"

Meanwhile, Tyson was still laying on the ground, hoping not to attract attention by moving. Maybe if I just lay here, he thought, I won't attract any attention. Right after he thought that, a large gust blew by, causing him to shiver. Oh come on!!! he screamed in his head, This is just not my day!

Posted by: Golden Lucario Dec 7 2009, 12:24 PM

Alex' first reaction was puzzlement. Then shock. Then he laughed. He laughed really loudly, so much that soon he was also on the floor, thumping the ground with the palm of his hand, unable to control himself. He didn't care at all what the others must have thought of him, only that this was hilarious. Perhaps it was the lack of any real emotion he'd had recently, or how tired he was, but right at that moment all Alex' thought and emotion were rested on hilarity.

After a while, Alex felt a wave of calmness descend upon him, and he breathed out and in a few times. Then, he lifted himself from the ground with a strong push, and brushed his clothes from the dust they had on them. It was then that Alex realized what a mess he looked like. He'd been wearing the same pair of clothes for a while now, and they were all tattered and torn.
I need some new stuff. he thought to himself.

Once he'd thought about clothes for a few seconds, he helped the poor guy who'd fallen over.
"Well," Alex began, with a chuckle, "this isn't exactly how I tend to meet people, but I'm Alex, Alex Slasher, pleased to meet you."

Posted by: Protoman Dec 7 2009, 01:25 PM

Tyson looked at Alex, with at first a puzzled expression, but then became worry free and had a big smile on his face. "Pleased to meet you!" he exclaimed before shaking Alex's hand. "Sorry about the whole falling over thing. My name is Tyson, and I'm from Johto." He dusted himself off a little bit and picked up his fallen Cyndaquil. "Oh, and this is my best buddy in the world, Cyndaquil!"
"Cynda!" the energetic Pokemon exclaimed, causing Tyson to chuckle slightly.
"So," Tyson began before readjusting his hat, "where are you headed?"

Posted by: Golden Lucario Dec 7 2009, 02:07 PM

"Well eventually, Barley, then to Fidona, where I'll have a gym battle! Well, at least, I hope so." said Alex, a glint in his eye as he mentioned the gym battle.

Alex looked at Tyson. He must have been in his mid-teens, which would be a little older than Alex, but somehow he had a slightly more mature likeness to him. He seemed quite a clam, clever guy, and Alex thought that that was quite a nice quality in a person.

Alex suddenly had an idea. He needed practice. Good practice in battle. This Tyson guy seemed like a good training companion.
"Erm, I know this will seem weird to you, but do you want a battle?"

Alex sent out his new Pokemon, Treecky.
"Ready?" he asked, looking at Tyson with a sly look.

A smile grew onto Tyson's face and he looked at Cyndaquil.
"You up for a battle, buddy?" He asked his partner, getting a nod in compliance. "Alright, let's go!" Cyndaquil got down on the ground and then smiled and danced around for a few seconds. "Alright, we'll start simple. Smokescreen and then Tackle, Cyndaquil!" Out of the mouth of the small Pokemon, a large cloud of smoke went towards the face of Treeky, soon following the previous move with a full body rush towards the unsuspecting Treeko.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 7 2009, 04:31 PM

ooc: bleh, i've been left behind (damn school) XD

Tikal followed smoke coming from deeper in the woods, and eventually came across a clearing, seeing a Treeko and Cyndaquil battle. Her Totodile began to twitch in excitement, and noticing this, she placed him back inside her Pokeball, knowing he had a habit of interrupting things.
She decided to watch the outcome first, having never really seen that many battles, and she thought it could be good experience for her to at least see their strategies.

Posted by: Golden Lucario Dec 8 2009, 02:00 PM

Alex was really shocked by the sudden move. All he could do was widen his eyes in shock, and just stare for a few seconds.

However, Alex quickly responded to the attack, as did Treecky, who quickly shook his head and looked at the Cyndaquil.
"Treecko, use Pound!" shouted Alex.
The Gecko Pokemon seemed to be still annoyed at this annoying Cyndaquil pest who had dared to Tackle him, so stood on the battlefield, sulking.
"TREECKY! FIGHT! USE POUND!" shouted Alex, angry now.
But Treecky still wouldn't budge.

"Come back, then!" exclaimed Alex.
"Swamps, your turn!" he shouted. Out came Swamps, looking happy, and ready to battle once more.

"Huh?" Tyson said in astonishment, "A Mudkip? That's new!" Tyson pulled out his Pokedex and pointed it towards the Pokemon. After viewing the information he looked back at Alex and his Mudkip. "Swamps, huh?" Tyson responded, adjusting his hat to make himself concentrate. "Nice nickname. I don't have one for Cyndaquil yet..." Out of nowhere, Cyndaquil's back bursted into flames, causing Tyson to go into a state of astonishment. "Cyndaquil?" Soon afterwards, several small flames shot out of his mouth towards Swamps. "Sweet!" Tyson exclaimed as he saw Cyndaquil's development, "I'm gonna call you Blaze!"

Posted by: rt117 Dec 8 2009, 08:22 PM

As Tikal watched the two fight (who hadn't noticed her there yet), a Kakuna suddenly dropped down in front of her face, causing her to fall back in alarm. Instinctively, she released her Nidoran Male, who's ears were perked in alarm from the battle not far off. "Nidoran, use Peck on the Kakuna!"
Nidoran tore his attention from the other trainers' Pokemon, and instead focused on the bug Pokemon who was dangling in the air, a slight sheen to its shell. Tikal recognized this as Harden, meaning that it'd take less damage. But with a super effective move, odds were it wouldn't make much difference.
Suddenly hurling himself into the air, Tikal's Nidoran slammed its horn into the Kakuna's shell, causing it to swing back and forth violently on its string. Nidoran tumbled to the ground by Tyson, but recovered quickly and immediately scurried back to the fight.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 8 2009, 10:41 PM

"Hm?" Tyson said distracted slightly by the Nidoran he saw. "Was that a...nah, couldn't have been." Tyson then looked back at the battle before him, ready to give it his all if need be. Blaze's back was still covered in flames that he expelled. Out of the Poke Ball, bursted Hydro, Tyson's very own Squirtle. Hydro saw the Nidoran scurrying back up the tree and used Water Gun to knock it off. Tyson saw this and was infuriated.
"Squirtle, Squirt, Squirt." Hydro said arrogantly.
"Hydro!" Tyson bellowed at the Squirtle, causing him to jump.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 9 2009, 04:19 PM

ooc: since when do Nidoran scurry up trees? lol

Tikal's Nidoran had been planning another peck, but when the Kakuna was sent flying away, he hit the tree instead. Tumbling down the base of the tree he let out a huff of annoyance, and turned to see cause of this: the Squirtle.
"No fighting yet." Tikal warned her Pokemon. She didn't want the scuffle to cause the other trainer to get distracted from the fight, so stepping in front of her Nidoran, she gave him a Poffin. He happily took the Poffin, before running off to go find the Kakuna.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 14 2009, 12:44 PM

ooc: Lol. Had to think of something.

Tyson looked at Hydro and shook his head. The rebellious Squirtle had done a lot to harm others instead of helping. He thought that taking him from his dad wasn't a good idea anymore.
"Squirtle squirt?" Hydro responded in dismay.
"You know what you did!" Tyson told the mischievous Pokemon sternly. He then turned his attention back to his competitor, Alex. "Sorry," Tyson began, grinning widely, "I feel like a full time mom with these two." Tyson soon wiped the smirk off of his face and got back into his serious nature, "Shall we continue?"

Posted by: Golden Lucario Dec 14 2009, 01:02 PM

"Oh, hi there!" Alex said, gesturing to the girl who's Nidoran had scurried up the tree. "What's your name then?" he asked. Alex felt quite older than he was. He knew that it was weird, but he felt older than sixteen, and by default older than these two looked. Maybe it was all the things he'd experienced, especially that night in the tree house... Alex stopped thinking about age rapidly.

"Ok... on with the battle!" he exclaimed. And with that, the battle began once more.
"Swamps, use Water gun!" said Alex. Swamps let out a powerful jet of water which pounded into the Cyndaquil's side. The fire monster looked quite hurt by the move, and was about to retaliate from it, when suddenly, something hit it. Alex looked up, and swore. There was a flock of Wingulls, and one of them didn't like the Cyndaquil. within a few seconds, they were dropping down, pecking away at Alex.
"RUN! GET COVER!" Shouted Alex. He took his book out of his backpack and ran, making sure Swamps was with him. As he ran, he looked into the book, flipping through pages desperately until finally, he found it.

"Ah-ha! Wingull!" he exclaimed. He read the "Safety tips" entry: Wingull do not like fire Pokemon, they cannot stand them. please watch out while near them.
Alex groaned. Quite loudly. Then he took off his back pack, taking out his remaining three Pokeballs, and putting his handbook away.
"Go Stryk, Blaze and Treecky!" he shouted.

Out came his Pokemon. Blaze and Stryk, happy to fight like always, Blaze in front of Alex, protecting him, and Treecky sulking, again.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 14 2009, 04:14 PM

"Blaze!" Tyson called out to his Cyndaquil. He darted towards it, in hopes of protecting the young injured Pokemon from anymore damage. Hydro saw this and rushed forward as well. He put his arms up in hopes of stopping the swarm of Wingull from harming his master.

"Squirtle squirt!" Hydro yelled out, before giving a mean look towards the attacking Pokemon. This caused Tyson to look at his Squirtle in utter confusion. Hydro ducked his head down into his shell, making Tyson ponder even more. One of the Wingull saw this and dive-bombed towards them.

"NO!!!!" Tyson called out, but all before Hydro's head came bursting out of his shell, knocking the approaching Wingull into three others. The attacking Wingull was knocked out from this hit to its head.

"Cawwwww......." The rather dazed Pokemon said before staying on the ground. Blaze looked up at Tyson and whimpered slightly.

"It's gonna be okay, buddy." Tyson told the tired Pokemon. Man... Tyson thought to himself, looking back at Alex, that one Water Gun took a lot out of Blaze...That's one tough Mudkip. Snapping back to reality, he redirected his attention to Hydro, who was in his battle ready position. "Can you keep that up, Hydro?" Tyson asked, hoping for a yes.

"Squirtle Squirt!" Hydro responded.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 14 2009, 04:36 PM

"Tikal." Tikal replied in response to Alex's question on her name. She leaned against the tree now, watching the two with more curiousity. "I take it this is your first time battling?" she continued. Her Nidoran returned happily, after headbutting the knocked out Kakuna, seeming rather pleased with himself. Tikal laughed and patted her friend, careful of the barbs. Even having had Nidoran for awhile, she had managed to prick herself a few times, and had to go to the Pokemon Center just to get better.

When the flock of Wingulls came, Nidoran was quick to move in front of her, crouched down with his barb exposed, threatening a face full of poison barb to the first Pokemon who would come near.
One did just that, and Nidoran's eyes glowed evily, meeting the gaze of the Seagull Pokemon's eyes. While in the trance, he rushed towards the would-be attacker, using Peck to knock the attacker back before moving back into position, focusing all his conscious mind on the Wingull (Focus Energy).
The dazed Wingull snapped to reality and cawed angrily, spaying water at Nidroan with Water Gun. Nidoran held his ground, trying to take the full attack, before charging back and using a more coordinated Peck, knocking the Wingull back into a tree, and knocking it out for the time being.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 14 2009, 07:11 PM

Tyson saw how the male Nidoran was fighting against the Wingull's as well as they were. He looked at Hydro, who had used Tackle to send another one into a tree, making it collide with the Wingull Nidoran knocked into the same one. Tyson flashed a smile at Hydro and stopped covering Blaze the Cyndaquil. Blaze had a look of determination on his face, as if he had something to prove.

"Nice shot!" Tyson said to Hydro, "let's help out the cute chick! I mean the girl with the Nidoran!" Hydro and Blaze chuckled a little before getting into their battle ready position and staring down their opponent. A Wingull caught a glimpse of Blaze the Cyndaquil and dived straight for him. "Now!" Tyson bellowed, "use Smokescreen!" As soon as Blaze opened his mouth, a large cloud of smoke poured out and distracted the whole group of Wingull. "Skull Bash, Hydro!" Out of the smoke came a Wingull with Hydro's head directly under its stomach. The Squirtle flashed a peace sign, showing a big grin as well.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 14 2009, 07:17 PM

ooc: smooth XD

Tikal looked away, blushing slightly at the words 'cute chick' before suddenly grinning. Most of the Wingulls had begun a retreat after seeing part of its flock knocked out. She decided to give Nidoran some help, as she tossed one of her Pokeballs in the air, Totodile flashing out. Totodile gave a condifent Toto! before hopping around a bit.
"Nidoran, use Peck! and Totodile, use Leer!"
Using a similar strategy as before, Totodile kept the Wingull's attention with Leer, while Nidoran rushed forwards and toppled the Pokemon.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 14 2009, 07:32 PM

ooc: lol. I tried and failed.
Well, Tyson thought to himself, she's cute and she can battle. What next? She actually will notice me? Before Tyson could fantasize any longer, one of the Wingull was headed directly for her. Without a moment of hesitation he darted forward. He dodged the oncoming Water Gun attacks that were being sent from the angry bird Pokemon. He quickly grabbed Tikal and pulled her out of the way before she was hit by the Peck from Wingull. Out of the blinding, tear jerking smoke, Cyndaquil launched a Tackle at the enemy, knocking it to the ground.

"Are you okay?" Tyson asked as he stared into Tikal's eyes, "you almost got hurt back there." He looked down and saw that he was still holding her hand. He quickly let go and looked away, his face turning a light pink color out of shyness. "uh, I'm Tyson," he told her before looking a little uneasy, "sorry we had to meet this way."

Posted by: rt117 Dec 14 2009, 08:18 PM

ooc: trying to make a move are we? :P

Tikal was still in the past for a few moments after Tyson had pulled her away, and she suddenly blinked after realizing what had happened.
"T-thanks." she replied, still a bit stunned before smiling at him, noticing he looked a bit shy. She wondered why he was looking away from her, but the blush on his face began to tell the story. "Thanks for saving me back there. My name's Tikal if you didn't pick up on it earlier" she replied with a warm smile, not wanting to make him feel more uncomfortable than he obviously was.
Two cries of worried sounded, and Tikal looked behind him to see her Totodile and Nidoran rush forward, having been worried when the Wingull had attacked while they were busy. Nidoran hopped up into her arms, Totodile for once not hopping around, but instead sulking slightly. Tikal frowned for a moment before smiling again, patting Totodile on his head and rubbing Nidoran behind his ear. "Hey, it's okay." she told them calmly. "Don't feel bad. Tyson here saved me."
Nidoran moved his head from Tikal, looking up at Tyson and nodding to him in thanks, seeming rather pleased.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 14 2009, 08:34 PM

Tyson looked at Nidoran and nodded with a smile on his face. He then took off his book bag and sat it on the ground. He unzipped the front part of it and pulled out a small case. He opened up the lower compartment and pulled out a blue Poffin. Noticing the smell, Blaze came running towards it, sniffing at Tikal's feet.

"This is Blaze," Tyson said more comfortably now that he got acquainted with these new people. Blaze continued to sniff at Tikal's feet before ultimately showing a big grin. Tyson pulled another Poffin out, this one being yellow, causing Hydro to scurry over. Hydro took the Poffin and put it in his mouth, smacking rather loudly while doing so. "This feisty young turtle Pokemon," Tyson continued, "is Hydro. Sorry if he caused you some problems earlier." Hydro hit one of the oncoming Pokemon with another Skull Bash, sending it skyrocketing into the air. Hydro the caught a glimpse of the Nidoran and formed a grimace.

Alex groaned as he looked at Treecky.
"Treecky, stop it, now! Come on mate, focus on the battle!"
Treecky pointed his nose in the air, and shook his head. Alex sighed and realized there and then that it would be a little while before Treecky responded towards him, and he just let it lie there.

Presently, Blaze, Swamps and Stryk were fending off the Wingull well. Blaze was using Peck and Ember, but was starting to suffer from the Water Guns. Alex looked at blaze, who looked back. Just as he did, a Wingull gunned Blaze with water. Blaze toppled a little, and fell over.
"Blaze, no!" shouted Alex, running towards his little friend. Blaze was Alex' best buddy really, so even a little hit pained Alex to watch. Fainting? A whole different story. With only a little HP left, there was no time for a potion.
"Come back, buddy..." the little Torchic returned to his Pokeball.

While all this was happening, Stryk had also received a fair amount of damage, as had Swamps, but luckily, there was only one Wingull left.
"Ok Stryk, you finish it off." Stryk took pleasure in Pecking off the last Wingull. Swamps did a fake sulk, before cheering up and grinning.
"Ok guys, let's make our way over to the others." said Alex.
---
Meanwhile, Ellis Mackrell was still missing his Golde. He was very worried, but no one seemed to care. Just then, he saw a dark movement on the street. He ran after it, desperate.
---
"So," said Alex, now rejoined with Tikal and Tyson "how did the Wingull battle go for you?" Alex now got Blaze out of his Pokeball, and gave all his Pokemon a potion, including Treecky. One they'd consumed the liquid, Blaze spoke once more.
"Anyway, this is Blaze, that's my Torchic, and my first ever Pokemon. Then that's Swamps, my Mudkip, Then Stryk, that's the Starly, and Finally the newest addition Treecky, the Treecko! Hey, I have a Pokemon called Blaze and so do you, Tyson!"
Blaze the Torchic walked over to the Cyndaquil. He nodded, and high fived Blaze the Cyndaquil. They both called out, and smiled, as did Alex. His Blaze was now friends with Tyson's Blaze.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 15 2009, 08:05 AM

"Hey, yeah," Tyson said with a wide smile, "that's pretty cool!" Tyson looked at the two Blazes being friendly to each other. He then saw Blaze the Cyndaquil go to Swamps the Mudkip and start talking to him. Tyson directed his attention back to Tikal, causing his heart to thump in his ears as well as his palms. Okay... Tyson said in his head, she's just a girl. Talk to her, it's that simple. You've talked to plenty of girls before, so one more shouldn't be too hard to speak to. Tyson looked at Tikal again, this time he was feeling a little more nervous. Oh man... he thought again, she's waaaay more beautiful than I expected.

"Squirtle?" Hydro said in confusion, that is until he looked at Tyson who was still feeling nervous around Tikal. Hydro saw his owner blush at the sight of her and frowned up at him. The young Squirtle turned his entire body around and looked at the Treeko, Mudkip, Torchic, and Starly. He only paid attention to the Mudkip, who he walked up to. "Squirtle, Squirt!" Hydro said to Swamps, trying to start a nice conversation with a water type alike.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 15 2009, 05:18 PM

ooc: I know, that's why we kinda stopped after the Wingull attack, so that we didn't advance too far.
And now you know how I feel when you guys start to leave me behind :P
@ Protoman: xD.gif smooth

Tikal smiled. "Pretty good other than almost getting a beak to the face." she laughed, before realizing she had left someone out. "Almost forgot..."
Her pokeball snapped open, and her Charmander appeared in a blaze of light. "I'm not all that well with learning and giving names... so this is Charmander, the Charmander." she said, trying to conceal a smirk. "And of course Nidoran and Totodile.

Tikal's Charmander went to investigate the other Fire Pokemon, while her overenthusiastic Totodile immediately scampered off to Swamps and Hydro. Her Nidoran however preferred to stay close, obviously still feeling guilt. Tikal continued to rub behind his ear. "So before this whole mess... were you two planning on heading to town? I was on my way, so I was wondering if it was alright if I could tag along perhaps?"

Posted by: Protoman Dec 15 2009, 06:21 PM

Tyson's heart began to thump faster. He started to try and calm himself down, attracting the attention of Blaze the Cyndaquil.

"Cynda?" Blaze asked in total confusion. He didn't know why Tyson was acting so strangely. He didn't act like this before Tikal was near them. Blaze soon realized it and began to discuss with his fellow fire type friends. "Cyndaquil, Cyndaaaaa!" He said with as much strength as he could muster.

"Sure," Tyson said to Tikal, answering her question, "I was on my way to Barley before I ran into you guys, so I guess forming a team of three won't hurt." Tyson looked in Alex's direction and flashed him a smile. "Do you mind, Alex?"

Posted by: Golden Lucario Dec 16 2009, 03:02 AM

just to let you know. (click to show)

Blaze the Torchic giggled at the other Blaze's statement.
"Shame I can't speak to Alex about it really. He'd love to know this kind of stuff."
---
Meanwhile, over in the Water Pokemon group, Swamps was doing a detailed story of his adventures so far. He was currently reciting the trip in Lenolia.
"I was so happy after that battle. I enjoyed it so much."
---
"Ok," said Alex "I agree. There nothing better for me to do with my life at the moment. I was thinking going to the small village that's quite close. It's called Jillius, and Marc the Trainer lives there. he's really good at battling, and he uses whatever level Pokemon he wants to! It's on the way to Barley, so... what do you say?"
---
Ellis Mackrell's chase had slipped away. He was in a bizarre town with no-one he knew, a long walk away from Barley. How could life get any worse? Just then, a mean came up to him.
"Hello there. You seem lost. You are?"
"Ellis. My Shiny Magikarp's been stolen. Where am I? Who are you?"
"My name is Marc Thomas. This is the little village of Jillius. Please, do come inside."

Ellis followed the man into his house, happy to have some shelter and warmth. But one thing still bugged his mind. Where did he know the name "Marc Thomas" from?

Posted by: Protoman Dec 16 2009, 08:47 AM

"Me too," Blaze the Cyndaquil told hit firey friend, "I really wish Tyson would just talk to her though." Blaze looked at Tyson and smiled. Tyson saw his friend from a small distance. He also looked at Tikal and Nidoran and nodded, saying that he was ready for the journey.
"I'm ready for the adventure ahead," Tyson told them both, "I hope you don't mind..." Tyson cleared his throat and blushed slightly, "being partners for a little longer."

Posted by: rt117 Dec 16 2009, 04:40 PM

"Alright, I'm set too." Tikal grinned, setting her Nidoran down to encourage him to go visit the others. However he didn't budge. He was always like that, social when he was happy, but when the slightest bit of unhappiness in him seemed to drive him away from being social.
"We should probably get going soon though. I don't want to get caught out here when it starts to get dark." she added, waving over her Charmander and Totodile, who had been listening in on the groups' conversations, and in two beams of crimson light they vanished. Nidoran was last to go. After a small amount of protest, he reluctantly allowed Tikal to call him back in his Pokeball.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 16 2009, 09:29 PM

"Great," Tyson said in a relaxed tone, "then it's settled." He felt rather relieved that he would have a couple of people to travel on his current journey with him. "Wait..." Tyson pondered what Tikal had just said, "what happens at night?" He thought about this for several more moments, still not knowing the dangers of darkness in this wilderness. Tyson then whistled briefly, getting the attention of both Blaze the Cyndaquil and Hydro the Squirtle. Blaze happily came back to Tyson, going back into his Poke Ball without a fuss. Hydro, on the other hand...

"Squirtle, squirt!" Hydro complained, turning his head to the opposite direction of the red and white sphere. Tyson tried everything to get Hydro into the Poke Ball. Finally, he picked Hydro up and held him for the moment.

"Once we get into town," Tyson explained to his rambunctious young Squirtle, "you're getting in that Poke Ball, got it?" The Squirtle nodded and enjoyed being carried. At least until Tyson made him return anyway. "Phew," Tyson breathed in relaxation, "I thought that wouldn't work."

"Ok then, if we leave now and have as few breaks as possible, we'll be in Jillius by dark." said Alex, who then proceeded to call back Treecky, Swamps and Stryk. He wanted to keep Blaze by him, because Blaze and himself were best friends really, and because Torchics had warm bodies. Then, he started the walk, and soon enough, Tikal and Tyson were also following.

Later that day, Alex stopped at a little clearing within a small group of trees.
"OK, we'll stop here." he announced.
Alex smiled. This was the perfect place to have a meal. He found a small rock, and sat down on it, taking off his backpack. He noticed to himself that his back felt quite nice, and realized that he must have been travelling a lot with it on. He picked it up again, and was shocked to notice that it felt really easy to pick it up. He guessed his strength had increased.

Then Alex took out four bowls, and placed crumbled-up poffins in them. In two of them went Spicy poffins, and in the other a Sour one. He put a bitter one in the last one. Then he sent out his three Pokemon who were in pokeballs.

Firstly, Blaze shuffled towards to Spicy poffin bowl, then looked back at his trainer, and smiled very warmly, obviously very hungry. He quickly started eating.
Next, Swamps walked up to the Sour poffin bowl and also started eating, also thanking his trainer. After that Stryk stepped up to the remaining Spicy poffin bowl, and also thanked her Trainer with a chirp.

Finally, it was Treecky's turn. Now the tree gecko Pokemon hadn't ever eaten before, so he regarded the bowl with a great curiosity, it took him at least one minute to even step up to it, and a further two minutes of prodding it to check its safety before Treecky would even take a bite. When he finally did, it was a minuscule one, and he spat it out straight away in disgust. Alex had just finished off his first cheese sandwich by this time, and he was just reaching into his bag for the next one, so he quickly found a dry poffin instead. He then offered this to Treecky, who unfortunately was weary, and so took it shakily. He ate it though, as he was very hungry, and this time his face lit up, and he started to enjoy his meal. Alex got out his Coke, his Doritos crisps, his Yorkie bar and his other Cheese sandwich, and for a quarter of an hour, the only noise coming from Alex' group was the sound of people eating, and thoroughly enjoying a well earned meal.

ooc: how close are they to shore? Or are they still a ways? -pokes Capture Request thread-

Tikal sat down as well, feeling the need to rest her sore feet. She had been traveling for most of the day, and on the exception of this break and her last one before meeting the two, she had not stopped to rest for a moment.
She allowed her Pokemon from their Pokeballs, watching with a smile as the first thing she saw was a game of tag, Totodile being 'it' of course, since he always seemed to have the most energy out of the three.

She kept their food out in case they decided to finish up early, and Tikal began to eat her own packed lunch, something more experimental. She pulled out a few rice balls she had wrapped in plastic, each with a sticky surface as she had rolled them in a light amount of honey before having them dry. She popped one in her mouth and smiled, savouring the sweet taste.

some points (click to show)

Alex still was enjoying his break, but there was one thing that he couldn't help from prodding his mind. He knew he was near to the sea, but when would they actually see it? He'd never set eyes on the sea before, well, not that he could remember anyway, and so he was anxious to see once more something that had been so ingrained in his life, coming from Hoenn and all of that.

Alex loved swimming, he loved water. It was like a second home to him, he had many a fond memory of swimming on a calm day by himself. It was one of these such days that he'd caught Swamps, he remembered that day very well. Everyone has something, even a little thing, that makes them act a little more childishly than usual. Alex' was water.
---
Ellis, the young sailor, had always known the sea. Without it, he'd have no job, no Pokemon, and not Golde, his most precious Pokemon. Ellis knew the sea, and water, were things not to be taken for granted.

With Golde gone, Ellis didn't know how to react. However, as he was now, in a warm comfortable room inside a warm house, he allowed himself to forget his worries a little, just a little.

Tyson let Blaze and Hydro out, both Pokemon stretching after being released from the sphere. Hydro went to see what the Totodile and some of the others were doing, out of sheer curiosity. Blaze, however, went up to Tikal and sniffed her hand to remember her scent. After this, the young Cyndaquil smiled at Tikal and began to play tag with her other Pokemon.

"Who's it, you guys?" Blaze asked, ready to play, and hopefully be it. He hopped up and down in excitement, causing Tyson to chuckle a little. Blaze looked at Tyson and smiled. Tyson hadn't been on many adventures, but this was the first without any pains or worries. Out of nowhere in particular, pain surged through Tyson's head. Totally catching him off guard, he almost screamed from the agony. He caught himself just in time and stood up swiftly.

"'Scuse me," Tyson told them, "gotta go for a second..." Tyson ran passed several trees, going deeper into the forest before unleashing a painful yell. He gripped his head again before collapsing to the soft, damp grass beneath his feet and knees. He bowed down, in total agony, sobbing and wheezing out of sheer desperation. "What's going on with me?" He asked himself.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 19 2009, 07:58 PM

Tikal watched as Tyson's Cyndaquil came up to her then left to go play with the others, and smiled. Her Pokemon seemed to be enjoying themselves more now that they had others to play with. "Maybe I should travel with a group more often...definitely better than being alone."

"He is." Charmander replied, pointed a clawed finger at Totodile, who was already running back towards them. "He never loses though, so be careful." Nidoran was already on the move, and after speaking Charmander started a sprint. Totodile's fixation turned from his fleeing friends to the new Pokemon, now going after him.

As Tyson excused himself, Tikal watched him leave, wondering if he was alright. The look on his face showed some sign of discomfort, and she was tempted to follow after him. She stayed though, believing he just needed some privacy. However, as she heard his scream faintly carry on through the forest, that was when her fears got the best of her. Springing to her feet, she looked over at Alex. "I'm going to go see if he's alright." she told him, looking worried herself, before running off in the direction he had taken.
With seemingly new energy, she sprinted by the trees, hoping that he was alright.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 19 2009, 08:38 PM

Tyson was still in major pain, hearing branches and leaves crunch beneath someone's feet, but who's? He tried to turn around, but the pain that he was feeling wouldn't permit him to do so.

"Who's..." Tyson began to say between the frequent jolts of pain. "Who's that coming?"

The figure continued to get closer and closer to Tyson, not making him relax any more.

Meanwhile, Blaze was looking at the oncoming Totodile, trying to figure out how to evade him.

"Aha!" Blaze said with a smart look on his face. Without another thought, the young Cyndaquil soon was running zig-zags to prevent himself from getting caught.

Back in the forest, Tyson was starting to feel tremendous pain within his skull. It was totally unbearable at this point. Soon visions swirled in his head, causing him to panic even more than he already was. His head throbbed with pain before he finally gave up by simply crying in agony, not caring if the others heard his sobs.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 19 2009, 09:10 PM

Tikal gasped as she saw him lying on the ground, immediately rushing to his side and kneeling down, gently resting the back of her hand on his forehead to see if he had a fever. "Tyson?" she asked quietly, hoping he'd give her a response. He didn't seem to be unconscious right now, but from the look of pain on his face, he could easily pass out at any time, in which case the group would need to hurry to town to get him some help.

Totodile skipped a bit as he continued to chase the group around. After following Blaze a bit, he was beginning to feel dizzy, slowing down a bit. He suddenly got an idea, and while attempting to run backwards, shot a powerful blast of water onto the ground (Water Gun), propelling himself into the air where he could cut off Blaze's route of escape.

ooc: and now we should wait for Golden Lucario

Posted by: Protoman Dec 19 2009, 09:38 PM

"T-Tikal?" Tyson said in shock, stumbling backwards as he tried to get up. "It's nothing, I'm fine. Trust me, alright." Deep in his heart, he knew he was lying, the truth showing on his face more than it was heard in his voice. He finally managed to stand up, head sweating in large amounts. Tyson breathed heavily in and out before sighing deeply. "Listen, I have some things to tell you..."

While Tyson and Tikal were about to engage in a very important conversation, Blaze saw the Totodile in the air and panicked slightly.

"Oh crud!" Blaze said out loud. He looked left and right, but then decided to use Smokescreen to slow down Totodile temporarily. Blaze looked directly up and billowed out black smoke from his mouth. The black cloud prevented the Totodile from seeing much of anything but smoke.

Posted by: Golden Lucario Dec 20 2009, 08:43 AM

For fifteen minutes, there was silence. That was, until Tyson suddenly ran off towards the woods, Tikal in pursuit. Alex knew he had to help, so also followed. What he saw was Tyson and Tikal having what looked like a deep conversation, and Alex never liked to pry on people's business if they didn't want him to. Instead, he went towards the edge of the forest.

"****!" swore Alex. At the edge of the forest was a cliff. A huge cliff face, that looked out onto the sea. And Alex had almost fallen down it in the rush he'd been in. He sighed a huge sigh of relief, before looking at the sea for the first time in years. Alex thought My oh my, she's beautiful. What a lovely stretch of coast.
And he stayed looking at the sea for a while, until Stryk landed softly on his shoulder.
"Hey girl," said Alex, "Do you find the sea as beautiful as I do?"
Stryk sort of shrugged her shoulders, as if to say "Not really, no".
"Well that's a shame, isn't it? Where are the others?"
Stryk pointed behind herself, and Alex turned round, seeing Swamps running towards him.
"Hey buddy." said Alex "what about you then, you being a water Pokemon. What do you say that we go for a nice long swim when we get into Jillius, eh?"
Swamps nodded enthusiastically.
"Let's go." said Alex. He picked up Swamps, putting him on his other shoulder, and headed back towards the clearing, deliberately going past Tyson and Tikal.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 20 2009, 11:11 AM

"What is it?" Tikal asked, standing there a bit surprised as he declined her help. She didn't trust his word about him being alright, after he had made his way out here alone to scream. But it wasn't like she could force him to do anything. She would have to wait until he accepted her help "Have you had this checked out at all?"

Totodile blinked at the black cloud rising up to meet him, and he shifted his weight so that he was going down feet first. He used a weak Water Gun at the cloud of smoke, making a misty rain effect to try and dampen the countering Smokescreen to see where he was going.
Nidoran stopped running after noticing Tikal was gone, and with a frown abandoned the game to go look for her.

Tikal glanced into the forest from the corner of her eye, having thought that she had seen Alex moving through. She felt bad for having left him back at the site, and decided to apologize when they returned.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 20 2009, 03:26 PM

"Well," Tyson began, "I've had these problems since last year." Tyson sighed and then continued. "It's basically happened since I was fifteen. The only difference is that they were more frequent then than they are now. I was really hoping that they wouldn't happen while I was here." He then looked at Tikal, feeling less nervous now than he had in a long time. "The other thing I had to tell you was..." Right before he was about to tell her, he noticed Alex running back to the campsite. He then thought about what he was about to say, and decided not to say it.

************

Well,Blaze thought as he scampered far enough away from Totodile to be safe, I guess I did it! Hydro, not expecting or knowing anything about what was going on, walked towards Blaze.

"What are you doing?" Hydro said to his partner in battles. He smirked smugly after seeing fully what was going on. "Tag? You're playing tag?" The young Squirtle scoffed at the sight of this.

"It's really fun, Hydro!" Blaze told him.

*************

"I'll be fine, Tikal," Tyson told his worried friend, "trust me. It's not always as bad as that one was. I haven't had one in a while, which made it hurt that profoundly." Tyson grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes. "I'm not hurting anymore, alright?"

Posted by: rt117 Dec 20 2009, 04:39 PM

Tikal blinked slightly as he held her hands, and eye eyes began to drift to the ground. "Alright...if you're sure. But when we get to town, we should get you checked out, just in case."
She wondered what he was going to say before he changed the subject, before letting go of him. "I think Alex wants to get going." Tikal told Tyson, looking down to see Nidoran tugging on her pant leg to signal the continuation of the journey. She picked him up before she placed her fingers in her mouth and whistled.

Totodile nearly landed on Blaze before hearing the whistle, looking over at Charmander. They both grabbed Tikal's bag and waved over to Blaze and Hydro. "I think they want us to go back to them." Charmander told the others, before they hurried towards the direction Nidoran had taken.

As they reached the pair, Tikal took her bag with a smile, before returning all three back into their Pokeballs.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 20 2009, 04:56 PM

Without another word, Tyson pulled out his Poke Balls, returning the pair to them. He then threw on his bookbag, walking out of the woods with his hat in his right hand. He looked off into the forest, thinking if he really was alright. He pulled his bookbag in front of himself and unzipped the top portion. He thrusted his hand down the center of the bag, grasping a container filled with small, spherical pills. He took one out, swallowing it without water. He sealed the container again and placed the container back into the bag, zipping it up soon after.

"That should stop that from happening again." Tyson said to himself triumphantly. "As long as I have them, I'll be fine." Tyson's thoughts began to swirl in his head. Every thought from him being attracted to Tikal and actually liking her, all the way to finding a cure for his uncontrollable pain. The pain had him too terrified to even ask questions about where it came from. During some of these headaches, he would see visions that weren't his. He'd see someone else becoming what he longed to be: the Pokemon Champion. With his pain finally gone, Tyson's worried expression still remained.

Posted by: Golden Lucario Dec 21 2009, 12:07 PM

Alex had just about finished packing up his bag when Tikal and Tyson came back into the camp.
"Hi you guys!" he said "is Tyson OK?"
"Yeah, I'll be OK..." said Tyson, absent-mindedly.
"Good. Let's get going again. I can't wait to see the sea!" exclaimed Alex, who was in a good mood because of the reason that the sea was approaching. If anyone was looking at the boy right now, they would have noticed a slight twinkle in his eye.

Presently the group set off again, walking towards their next destination, which was of course Jillius. Little did they know that someone was following them. But putting that aside, the group were all quite happy, although Tikal was of course still concerned for Tyson and Tyson still was recovering from his head pains. In Jillius they would meet many new people; and two of these would be vital to the team in the future.

They arrived in the small coastal village in the early hours of evening, at around 5pm. Alex' first impression was that it was a little not busy enough. He remembered his home town Daas had been very busy at this time of day. But he quickly changed this opinion as he realized that Daas had been a town, and so therefore much bigger than this little place.

Alex went over to the town square, sitting down on a bench. Tomorrow they would have fun. But now they needed a place to sleep.

Posted by: rt117 Dec 21 2009, 12:32 PM

"Tikal sat on a cobblestone ledge by the bench which encircled a large tree, which was obviously made a home by a few Furrets as rustling could be seen in the canopy from where they stood. She watched the sun set by the calm waters not too far away, and smiled.
"Do you guys want to go take a look at the beach before we find a place for the night?" she asked. A sunset over the ocean had always been something she wanted to see as a little girl, a picture-perfect moment.

Posted by: Protoman Dec 21 2009, 12:35 PM

Tyson looked around Jillius, whistling as he saw how small it really was.

"Now this," Tyson said to no one in particular, "is what I'd call 'quaint'." He stretched a little bit, yawning while doing so. With his head no longer hurting, he felt as if he was a new person, ready to move onward with his adventure. "So," Tyson looked at Alex in slight confusion, "explain to me once more why we're here." Before he got an answer, Tyson took out both of his Poke Balls, releasing Blaze and Hydro. Blaze sniffed the air, smelling sea salt and certain fish Pokemon in the air. Hydro looked around, eyes sparkling at how he finally reached a body of water again.

"Wow!" Hydro said to Blaze, "so much water! I love it!"

"Yeeeahhhh," Blaze responded to his friend, "me and water don't mix."

Tyson heard Tikal's question, also wanting to go to the beach.

"Yeah," Tyson replied to her, "it sounds like a nice plan. I really want to see the beach here in Furoh."

Posted by: Golden Lucario Jan 2 2010, 07:57 AM

"We're here" said Alex "because it's on the way to Barley and from Barley to Fidona, where I will get my first gym badge, I hope. And also there's a guy here, a really famous trainer called Marc Thomas. I wish to battle him."

Alex let the thought sink in to his fellow travellers. For a few seconds, images flashed by in Alex' head, conjured up by his imagination alone. Firstly, Marc Thomas shaking his hand and saying "well done. Good victory". Next, Alex watching a disappearing headland, leaving from Barley. Then, him holding up the Fidona gym badge, which glinted in the sun. From there, holding four gym badges, at the entrance to the infamous Elite Four. Finally, one picture. Him winning the title of Champion.

He was quickly brought back to reality by remembering Tikal's question. He nodded.
"Yeah, I'm desperate for a little swim." he threw a Pokeball. "Swamps, out you come!"
Out came his little Mud Fish Pokemon.
"You two, I'll see you later. Me and Swamps are gonna take a little swim."

While Alex raced towards the sea, on the beach where he was to start to swim from, was a young sailor, desperate for his Magikarp. Many said that these Pokemon were dull, and rubbish, but Golde was different, and not just in colour. He had a personality, and he loved Ellis, just as Ellis loved him. Ellis was looking on the beach, with Quack, his Psyduck, next to him. Ellis was also going to swim. And then, Alex Slasher would Meet Ellis Mackrell.

Posted by: rt117 Jan 2 2010, 12:37 PM

"Hey wait up!" Tikal called, racing afterwards with a Pokeball in hand. She tossed it in front of her, releasing Totodile whom was confused for a few seconds, until seeing the beach, and Tikal running by. Cheering happily he ran headfirst towards the water.

As tikal neared the beach, she saw a sailor standing around on the beach with a Psyduck. Wondering what he was standing around for, she was about to turn to go over to him, when a pink flash caught her attention. She stopped a good ways away from the water, and cupped her hands as she saw something pink floating in the water.

"Totodile, go see what that is." she called to him, pointing out towards the distant floating object.
Totodile gave a mock salute in response, before diving into the water and heading straight towards the pink thing. It took him a good minute to get to it as Tikal watched and waited, before she saw Totodile nudge it back. For a moment she thought it looked like a Pokemon, and this was confirmed as it suddenly came flying towards her, propelled by a Water Gun as Totodile had wanted to play. Tikal couldn't react fast enough to move, only to hold her arms out as she was knocked to the ground by the incoming Igglybuff, which Tikal managed to hold on to to prevent it from bouncing off.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 2 2010, 12:53 PM

Tyson looked at what happened, his left eyebrow raised in confusion. He picked up Hydro, letting Blaze clamber up his leg. Tyson then took off towards the beach, finally reaching Tikal, Totodile, and the small pink sphere that Tikal was holding.

"Uh..." Tyson began before shaking his head. He looked to his left to see the sailor and his Psyduck. He let Blaze climb down and put Hydro in the sand, causing him to frown up slightly. He then looked at the sea, with his eyes sparkling.

"Look, Blaze!" Hydro told his fire typed friend, "that's the sea..."

"I know," Blaze said calmly, "not trying to be rude, but Hydro, I'm not a sea type person, buddy."

"I know," Hydro said glumly, wishing his partner was the water type so that they could relate more. He sighed deeply and then wandered towards Tikal and the pink sphere she had in her hand.

"What is it, Hydro?" The young and curious Blaze asked. He walked up beside him, sniffing for a scent that was familiar.

"I think it's a toy," Hydro said, hoping he was right. He continued to look at the sphere, wondering what could possibly be there.

Posted by: Kranic Jan 2 2010, 02:17 PM

"Yoooooooooooooooo!"

Sliding down into the beach, the fiery youth made his entrance. He was followed by his two pokemon, equally enjoying their master's little rush.

"Alright, who wants to go against me in a pokemon battle?!"

Castor yelled out rather loudly while taking a 'cool' pose. His Charmander standing to his right while his Mareep sat on his left, over the hype the boy gave to the pokemon a few minutes ago. It began a short baa as a way to express this boredom. This naturally cooled down the charmander as well, feeling the moment was over. He then sat as well and breath a small puff on fire. Ignoring his pokemon's impudence, he continued with a loud yell.

"WHO HERE WANTS TO BATTLE?!"

Posted by: Protoman Jan 6 2010, 07:56 PM

Not paying much attention to the new face that had shown up, Tyson began to look at the sunset. He sighed deeply, thinking about the past events that just took place. More visions swirled in his head.

Oh crap, Tyson thought to himself, mentally face-palming in the process, Not this again... He looked at the vision going on in his head, not fully understanding what was going on. He saw himself standing off against another trainer. There was loud cheering coming from the stadium, meaning that they were at some sort of event. Tyson began to look around, not realizing that he was actually there in a sense.

"Yo!" The young trainer yelled to Tyson. "Let's battle, Champ!" Tyson was taken aback by these words.

"Where?" He asked in confusion, "where's the champion?"

"You are!" The trainer responded, "you're the Furoh League Champion!" Tyson was utterly confused, but shrugged at this. He took out a Poke Ball, throwing it into the air.

"Blaze," Tyson bellowed, "let's rumble!" Out of the sphere came Blaze, or at least he thought it was. Apparently, Blaze had evolved into a Typhlosion, causing Tyson to be stunned at his progress. He smirked and was about to launch the first attack, when he heard something disturbing...

Posted by: Golden Lucario Jan 7 2010, 01:49 PM

Alex could definitely see why it has taken millions of years for life to exist on land. The sea was just so magnificent! Water really gave you a sense of freedom, and it had a great calming effect on all. Well, all aside Rock, Ground and Fire Pokemon, of course. But then Alex guessed that lava was the same for them. He suddenly wanted everyone to feel the happiness he felt now, and made himself a promise. Once he had completed his primary goal; to become Champion of the Pokemon League, he'd have a goal. He'd make sure that people weren't living in fear or depression like he had when Blaze was kidnapped by the evils of Team Deception. He clenched his fist slightly at this memory.

Alex swam for another half hour or so, with regular intervals when he came back up to the surface for a breath. After this time, he swam until he found Swamps, and seeing that his friend had starry eyes, as if he were in ecstasy, he smiled. He'd have to do more swimming sometime. He gestured to Swamps, who nodded, and followed. As Alex turned around, he saw a young boy, also swimming. From his strong, muscular build, Alex could easily see that he was a sailor. But he wore an expression of sadness. Alex felt a huge wave of sympathy for this boy, who was obviously very upset. The boy was also swimming back towards the beach.

Alex swam faster, overtaking the boy, who now noticed him, but seemed to not pay much attention to him. Alex reached the beach, surfacing, closing his eyes as he felt the water trickling off his body, and the sudden coolness of the air around him. He shivered slightly.

Just then, the young sailor who Alex had seen also surfaced. He kept his head down, averting his eyes from Alex' gaze. Alex didn't care. he walked up towards the boy, and said: "Whatever it is, I can help you. I will help you."
The boy's head lifted, and he stared into Alex' eyes.
"Not with this, you can't."
"How you know that I can't?"
"Because you're just a boy."
"Not so different from you."
The sailor smiled slightly grimly.
"But this is WAY beyond any boy. My Golde, my best friend, my shiny Magikarp, was captured. I was swimming his him one day, then suddenly a metal claw came, and grabbed him from me."
This has Deception written all over it. thought Alex darkly. Then he turned back towards the young sailor.
"I think I know who did this. A while ago, in Petroplois, two young people were having their first proper Pokemon battle. Then, one was clobbered on the back of the head, and his Torchic, a powerful fighter, taken. But that's not where it ends. The boy soon came to his senses, and he and his friends found the Torchic, and won him back from the evils that held him. There were other shiny Pokemon there too, just like Golde. And if your brain hasn't worked it out yet, I was the boy who's Torchic was captured. He's safe and well."
The sailor stood there for a second.
"My name's Ellis." he said.
"I'm Alex."
"Who were the bad guys?"

Alex said two words.
"Team Deception."

Tikal felt the pink thing squirm in her hands, and when she opened her eyes, she saw that what had flown at her was in fact a rather exhausted and wet Igglybuff. She slowly got to her feet, but as she was crouching and ready to pull herself up, Totodile had made it to shore, and Tackled Igglybugg right out of her hands, sending the Balloon Pokemon rolling back to the waters.

"Totodile stop!" she called, rather irritated by his over-eagerness, as she ran towards the two. As Totodile was about to use another Water Gun, she quickly dug out her Pokeball and recalled him, at least until things were straightened out. She pulled out a spare Pokeball, moving closer to Igglybuff as not to spook her, and tossed the Pokeball lightly. The button pressed against the baby Pokemon's head lightly, and in a red flash she disappeared into it. The shaking from the capture was not as great, because the Igglybuff had spent much of her time trapped on the waters.

When the shaking stopped, she picked up the Pokeball before it could be carried off into the water, letting Igglybuff out again. The Pokemon was obviously freaked out from the surprise attack from Totodile, and slunk away as Tikal got closer. However, the offer of an Oran berry changed this, and she quickly snatched away the berry, eating it happily. Tikal let out a small sigh in relief before scooping Igglybuff up, holding her in her arms while allowing the Pokemon to finish its berry.

Looking around, Tikal saw Alex talking to the man she had seen before the incident, and moved towards them quickly. She saw the dark expression on Alex's face and frowned, knowing that whatever they had been talking about wasn't good at all.

Castor grew rather furious.
How could these nobody's simply ignore him? He yelled, he screamed, he did everything in his power to let his presence be known. It was aggravating. Why couldn't these people simply have said no...why don't they just acknowledge him? Arrogant little bastards. They didn't have a right to be so uppity, they didn't seem to be any better of a trainer then he was, in fact they all looked like newbies to him. This wasn't fair and it was his place to make it fair.

Castor looked over towards his pokemon, whom seemed a little bored with the situation and looked over towards the daydreaming boy.

"Icuru, wake that kid up!"

The charmander jumped up and walked over towards Tyson. It took a deep breath and breath a small fleck of fire around the boy, being careful not to injure him or his clothing, but still enough to get his attention.

With the intention of causing more harm, Castor looked for the next nearest body. being the two who just left the water and managed to over hear there last sentence.

'Team Deception?'

It reminded the boy of Team Rocket, a famous organization in Johto at some point in time. There villanious acts were indeed the very foundation of what not to do as a trainer and who to avoid as a trainer. This new Team sparked his interest taking place of the rage he had for being ignored.

"Hey, what is Team Deception?"

The boy asked loudly, hopefully recieving some attention this time around.

Tyson's imagination continued to run wildly about him possibly becoming the new Furoh League Champion. He was really enjoying the battle going on at hand in his mind. The heat of the battle began to get to him.

"Hey...this battle's heating up! Tremendously! Wait...I smell something cooking..." Tyson sniffed, following the trail of smoke leading to his backside. Apparently, the Charmander wasn't the only one trying to get his intention. Tyson looked at his pants burning and said oh softly before running straight to the water, yelling at the top of his lungs. With a large "splash", he performed a cannonball into the water, putting out the fire on his posterior. "Ahhhhhh..." Tyson sighed before smiling widely. He then snapped back into reality when a Krabby pinched him in the same place he was burned. He yelled once more, almost jumping out of the water onto solid ground. He looked back, seeing the small Krabby on his backside, swiftly swiping him off. The Krabby landed on its feet, forming bubbles in his mouth in frustration. "Beat it!" Tyson said to the Pokemon, soon sending it scuttling off to the ocean. He sighed once more, turning his attention to the Charmander, which was standing next to Blaze.

"Did it work?" Blaze asked the Charmander, "because I think it did." Tyson looked in total bewilderment, which turned into frustration.

"Blaze!" Tyson bellowed before soon erasing all anger. He began to smile, soon laughing at the fact that his clothes were charred slightly. "That was pretty good! Your Ember is getting stronger!" The Cyndaquil smiled, slightly blushing in embarrassment.

Alex really hated rudeness. One thing that he'd been brought up to be as a young child was kind and polite to people. So this boy, this loud, brash trainer, rudely asking him a question, made Alex think about answering back rudely. Then he realized that Ellis was next to him, and that he needed to be polite. So, he forced out a clam and measured reply.

"Team Deception," he began "is a nasty organization much like Team Aqua and Magma, Team Galactic who want to rule the land. They are masters of disguise, even going to lengths as to disguise themselves as other teams, as I found out to my peril recently. They are also like Team Rocket" here Alex noticed the rude newcomer's ears prick up "as they will steal exceptionally gifted fighters or differently coloured Pokemon."

"We need to find them then." said Ellis. "I need Golde back!"
"I'll just find my other friends, and then we can leave."

Posted by: rt117 Jan 11 2010, 05:18 PM

"I'm ready, and I think Tyson will be rather shortly." Tikal spoke, having listened into what had just happened. She glanced over her shoulder to make sure that her words were true, catching his rather humorous encounter with a displeased Krabby. Turning back to the two she added: "Did you happen to notice anyone following you within the past few days, or someone that would know of Golde?"
The Igglybuff that she held finished off the berry before deciding to sleep right there. After all, it did have a rather rough journey on the waters and trying to stay afloat, and a sudden surprise attack by a Totodile was not as pleasant either.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 13 2010, 03:09 PM

After finally ridding himself with the pain of the Krabby, Tyson decided to join his new companions of the journey. He looked at the grim faces, not knowing what had been discussed, but decided to nod his head, knowing that there was trouble. He then looked and saw Castor as well as his Charmander.

"What about that guy, Alex?" Tyson asked his friend, who seemed to be a little extra flustered.

Posted by: Golden Lucario Jan 13 2010, 03:34 PM

Alex didn't need to wait long. Soon, Tikal was back. Alex noticed she now had an Igglybuff. He smiled. Then Tikal asked a good question, one about whether or not Ellis had spotted anyone.
"Only one person, and I'm not sure whether or not they were following me. There was a person in Jillius, someone in the Shadows, but they disappeared straight away when I ran towards them."
Alex looked at Ellis thoughtfully, then said himself "Well, I think that's our only lead. We'll try and find this person."

Just then, Tyson came up, looking very puzzled. That faded away quickly as he asked about the rude newcomer.
"Well, I'd like to know his name, if that's Ok."
"It's Castor." the boy replied.
"Well then, Castor, I suppose you could tag along. I need someone to battle, I mean, Tyson's not very good, he just attracts a flock of Wingulls!" Alex looked at Castor triumphantly as he chuckled a little, as did Tikal and Tyson.
"Anyway, Tyson, I know you're puzzled about what we're going on about. This," here he gestured towards Ellis "Is Ellis. His shiny Magikarp's been stolen by Team Deception, who are the bad team in this region. I've agreed to help him find him again. I have some unfinished business with Deception..." he looked down darkly. "We can leave tomorrow. I know what you're going to say Ellis, but it's late, and I'm really tired. We leave tomorrow. End of."
And with that, the now five travellers headed towards the Pokemon Center to stay there the night.

Posted by: rt117 Jan 13 2010, 04:33 PM

Tikal followed Alex and the rest of the group quietly as the general mood seemed rather bleak, with Alex's unhappier memories being brought back to the surface, and with the general fear of the Golden Magikarp's fate possibly stuck with Ellis. "I hope things get better tomorrow." she thought as she subconsciously rubbed Igglybuff's head, seeing the warm glow of the Pokemon Center as they got closer.
She had been sheltered for most of her life and knew little of the outside world, only stories that her father had told her while on his journeys. He never mentioned anything about Team Deception, so they were still unknown to her. However from what she heard she wasn't in a rush to encounter them.

It was now morning, the next day. Alex had just finished packing up his bag, when Ellis came into the room. The young sailor thought for a few second before saying:
"Thanks Alex. Thank you so much for wanting to help me on this. I don't know what I'd do without your help."
Alex looked back at the the sailor, who was still much of a stranger to him. He realized that Ellis was desperate, just as Alex had been. He recognized these emotions that Ellis was obviously feeling.
"No need to worry. I'll have you happy and safe in no time! Golde will be at your side, do not worry."

They left the Pokemon Center at about 8 am in the morning. They stopped in the square, where Alex outlined the plan that they now had.
"I've spoken to Ellis some more, tried to loosen the memories that he's found hard to let go so far. He's told me that at the time of the incident, he was on the Hinkont Island, off the coast of Barley slightly. If we go to this Island there is a high chance that we will find the Capturer of Golde, as Deception tend to work in secretive places from what I know, and the Island isn't well known. I'll only be a small lab, but will be what we're looking for. Let's get going, team!"

Later that day, at about mid-day, they got onto the Island. For those that had no water Pokemon, Ellis handed out some of his. Once they'd got to the island, Alex spoke once more.
"OK. So here we are. Tyson, Tikal, you two go round the east of the island and look. We have cell phones, so if you see anything out of the ordinary, then phone me. Castor, you go round in the westerly direction. Ellis and I will go through the middle, so to speak. It's not a very big Island, so there shouldn't be long to go. Good luck everyone!"

(The post is beginning in the pokemon center, just btw. I was originally planning on posting something about the pokemon center, but I wasn't sure if you had plans for something to happen when we got there.)

Casted walked into the pokemon center and took his seat, he went into some thought about the situation he was in.
He walked over to the nurse and left his pokemon to a heal a little, apparently going through a minor battle on the way from Barley to here. He soon took a seat in his bed to think a little more.

It was a little awkward having to follow around these strangers, but there wasn't much else he could do if he wanted to learn more about the region and furthermore the enigmatic Team Deception. The people in the group didn't give any interest to him in fact, they seemed a little corny, but that wasn't too important. This journey wasn't about people to him, it was about the experience. Traveling with these people will help him grow stronger and be better suited for anything that may come to him in the future. This was the reason for Castor's traveling to become stronger. Though Castor himself won't realize this for a long period of time for now he just saw being a trainer as a fun thing to do, just as many other kids do too.

Castor sat back in his bed while thinking back to Team Deception and how he would be able to beat anyone form that team's ass if they approached him. Not too expected out of a normal individual but all so typical thought for Castor. He wasn't a thinker, despite having intelligence. He imagined fighting a random grunt and severally hurting them without the need of his pokemon. He smiled as he slowly faded into sleep.

The following day came and he left with the group, he hadn't given much attention to the previous days session, due to being entrenched in his own thoughts, Castor moved ahead not really sure what was to be expected of him on the not too far away island.

Dredging through the water Castor wasn't too happy, having to get wet due to the size of his temporary companion. Shivering, he listened to the plan for what to do on the island. He had been left a lone, how unfortunate, however the other pairing were interesting, in Castor's perspective.

Castor walked over westward, ready to begin his search, but before running he decided to say one thing.

"Hope you all love birds enjoy your quality time together~Oh and I'm not only talking about Tyson and Tikal."

He then ran off to avoid any anger that may have branched from his comment.

Posted by: rt117 Jan 18 2010, 04:30 PM

Tikal began to move away from the others after they split up, quietly following behind Tyson as they began their search. Igglybuff was enjoying the ride on her head, and she had called out Nidoran earlier as he had a rather acute sense of hearing. At least then if they were being followed or if someone was calling, he would be able to alert them early enough for the pair to hide

To be honest, she wasn't sure if splitting up was such a good course of action. True that they knew what group they were facing, but they didn't have all the facts. For all they knew, there could easily be many more Deception members working behind the scenes. ANd unfortunately for Tikal, she wasn't all that confident in her skills as a trainer just yet.

Alex and Ellis headed off quickly, but not before hearing Castor's comment. How dare he? Alex was horrified at the thought of homosexuality, in fact he hated it to the extreme. He was never mean to gay people, but did his best to stay away from them. His friends back in Daas were similarly minded. They absolutely despised it. So Castor even thinking in his head that that was what was going on made Alex angry. He clenched his fist tightly, and thumped his right hand slowly but purposefully.

Ellis, on his part, was a little confused. He'd never ever come across a gay person or been taught about it either, although he was older than Alex. He didn't get it. Two boys being in love? What? Was that possible? Then he looked at Alex. He looked at the boy's clenched fist, his furious expression, his gritted teeth. He saw that Alex knew fully well what Castor meant, and despised the boy now, as opposed to a dislike.

Alex was too busy to have seen the expression of puzzlement on Ellis' face, too focused on Castor's remark.
"If he puts in another sly remark, witty comment, or even a tiny jibe about my sexuality, I'm going to absolutely pound him to smithereens- and I won't be using my Pokemon to do so."
He then looked to the side at Ellis, now seeing his expression. He widened his eyes, then rolled them, realizing.
"Let me guess- you have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?"
Ellis shook his head.
"He basically said that I am in love with you. Yes, it is possible. No, I am not. End of story. Let's move."
But Ellis was clearly still troubled.

It was now mid-day, and Ellis and Alex had stopped for lunch. Having so far found nothing, they were happy for a break. Just as he sat down, Alex saw some rustling in the grass. he stood back up again, and a Shinx jumped out. Alex wanted a Shinx. He'd had a tough decision choosing between Torchic, Shinx and Riolu as his Starter Pokemon. This was his chance.
"Go, Blaze!" out came his little Torchic, looking eager as always.

"Wait up," Tyson called out to Tikal as she continued to walk along the path. He finally caught up with her, standing beside her. "This is so exciting, isn't it? Baddies to bash, new members of the team, new Pokemon to catch...It's rather cool, huh?"

Posted by: rt117 Jan 25 2010, 04:32 PM

"Yeah, so long as everything goes well. Make a few wrong moves and things could be devastating." she replied, trying her best to smile. Even though she was overly nervous of facing the unknown, there was still the comfort knowing she didn't have to go do this herself.
"Of course that's just a negative though." she added rather quickly, not wanting to dull their moods with thoughts of anxiety. "So how did you start being a trainer?" Tikal asked, deciding to learn a little about him while she had the chance.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 25 2010, 04:41 PM

"Well," Tyson began before stretching a little bit, "it all started when my dad gave me a Cyndaquil, and some guy tried to beat me with the opposite kind of Pokemon. I had the Cyndaquil you see now, and he had a Totodile." Tyson thought about this again, remembering how he beat his rival, deciding right then to become a trainer. "What about you?" Tyson said, not missing a beat, "how did you become a trainer?"

Castor slowly returned to his average pace when he felt he was far enough. Castor slowly returned to his pace, giggling at the thought of flustering the group, despite only bothering, two of the four. He panted as he took a quick break to look around. There wasn't much to see, besides the ocean, which didn't mean much to him, being born and raised in the ocean side city of Olivine. He took a moment to think about his objective on the island; find the shiny magikarp from team Deception and beat up the team situated on the island. He got up and stretched and proceeded to summon up his pokemon, just in case of a surprise attack.

Virva took advantage of the instant and rubbed up against her master, much like a cat would do to a human. It was a pretty average activity for the mareep, that at one time greatly annoyed Castor, but now is just an accepted act of the Pokemon.

Iciuru stretched a bit as it was summoned, not at all effected by the affectionate actions of the Mareep. It belched a small flame and was ready to go.

After a few minutes for him and his pokemon to get situated Castor walked his way about the western coast. His main goal was to find any Deception Members, since he kinda missed out on the important detail of him having to look for a shed or building of some kind. Although, the fact he didn't even know what Deception members would even look like and the fact that they are known for well, deceiving people, was rather bad for the boy.

Some time went by as the boy journeyed, in till he found a random person on the coast. Through just a little thought, anyone could figure that this boy could be part of the team, the simple fact that he was on the island was enough to question him, but there were a number of other suspicious aspects of the boy. To begin, he was wearing highly casual clothing, despite Castor and the practically doing the same, in such an odd place, he was looking around for something, much like Castor and the others, but most important, the boy seemed to have a evil aura, to him, as if wishing to do something malicious with his life. The fact he had a few scars on his face, an odd emblem on his belt, and a rather odd outfit, despite being casual, were also, very minor facts that made the boy suspicious. Castor himself didn't bother to even think of these facts and simply began with a loud shout.

"Virva, use Thundershock on that guy!"

And as such, the pokemon did, but the move didn't seem to do anything, in fact the attack seemed to have completely moved around the guy.

"What..."

Was all Castor could reply in shock, his surprise attack was ruined and the boy could now see him obviously. He laughed as the pokemon behind him began to make itself more visible. It was a rhyhorn, some small waves of electricity could be seen being absorbed by it's horn.

"That could have actually hurt me, how fortunate was it for me to be given this Rhyhorn, for this mission." The last part of his sentence, was mumbled and incoherent.

"Hey kid, why'd you do that?"

"I did it because you are a part of that Deception Scum!"
Castor yelled out in a very blatant manner, as he rushed towards the boy. He replied with a quick glimpse of surprise and even more surprise as he received a quick punch to his cheek.

The boy pushed Castor away and looked at him.
"How did you know I was part of team Deception!"

Castor replied slyly,
"I didn't, but that reply of yours confirmed by beliefs."

The boy growled, he fell for one of the most basic tricks in the book, but it didn't matter. He still had this rhyhorn and he could easily defeat this kid and keep his reputation from being harmed.

"Whatever, I'll just have to kill you now, Rhyhorn, go!"

The grunt figured this would be a much easier way to get things down than using his bare hands, especially considering that today was the day he decided to not bring any type of weapon.

The Rhyhorn proceeded to charge at Castor, forcing him to run back to his pokemon.

"Alright guys, your turn to fight!"

Posted by: Golden Lucario Jan 26 2010, 08:31 AM

"Blaze, use Ember!" shouted Alex.
Blaze leapt forward, and burned the Shinx. It replied back with a nasty Charge Beam, which Alex recognized was only a TM move. He was puzzled. How had this Shinx come across the move? Obviously it was a mistake by Deception, a thrown out TM that "was no use". The Shinx had found it.
Blaze flinched slightly, but gritted his beak and came back with a powerful Peck. The shinx once again replied, with a Bite. This made Blaze flinch massively, so much so that the Shinx used another Charge Beam. Alex was now worried. He xcould see that Blaze was getting very weak. He called back his friend, sending out instead, admiotedly with a little thought, Treecky. His disobeidient Treecko. Alex grimaced at his choice, but what other alternatives did he have? The other Pokemon he owned were really bad type matchups.

"Treecky, use Pound!" said Alex, crossing his fingers. To his immense surprise, Treecky, although very reluctantly, pounded the Shinx.
"Well done, Treecky!" he said.
Shinx returned with a Tackle, but by tbhis time was too weak to do much. Alex watched as Treecky went to attack Shinx again. That would K.O. it! Alex rapidly threw a Pokeball. He crossed his fingers again. He watched.

And Watched.
And watched.

CLICK!
Alex sighed a huge sigh of relief. He now owned a Shinx! Just Riolu left, and he'd have the perfect team. He threw the Shinx's Pokeball. It looked at him.
"OK, I'm calling you Leo!" he said. Leo looked very happy about being given a name. Alex returned him.

"Good catch, eh?" said Alex to Ellis. Ellis didn't respond with what he expected. He'd obviously been deep in thought during the whole battle and so did not say anything to do with the catch. Instead, he said something so shocking, that Alex paused for a few seconds before reacting.
"Alex, you know out conversation earlier? Well, I think that I am... erm... Gay."

"Well originally I planned to start several years ago when I was ten, but when my dad disappeared I didn't want to leave home, because I knew my mom would get lonely. Of course by then I already had Charmander. As time went on I met my Nidoran and my Totodile, and I think it was maybe a month ago that my mom encouraged me to start my journey." she explained.
"Really the only reason I did leave this time is that I hope to find out what happened to my dad, because he had rather strong Pokemon, so I don't think it was something bad that happened."

The two pokemon looked forward at the rhyhorn.

Given the situations, things really weren't looking good for the pokemon, both the Charmander and Mareep help a weakness to ground type moves, of which are known for having a wide range, and the Charmander in particular had a secondary weakness to rock moves. The two pokemon were rather young, so they didn't have much of a moveset at their disposable to counter the frightening rhino like creature. Regardless, the two went on to fight.

The two pokemon appropriately began with an attack from their element, Icuru with a simple ember and Virva with a thundershock. The thundershock held no effect on the pokemon and the ember barely seemed to dent in. In response, the Deception grunt simply laughed and began with a simple command.

"Rhyhorn baby~ Why don't chu just use magnitude on these runts, I'll go after the kid after you beat them off."

The rhyhorn nodded and proceeded to stomp the ground and send small pulses towards the two pokemon, who instinctively proceeded the run. Very fortunate for them, as the move managed to flow towards a large rock not too far away from them, it crumbled easily after it was hit.

The two pokemon looked back freighted, the attack was devastating and they didn't have much to counter it, regardless, they choose to join this adventure and they were going to do all they can to reach Castor's wishes.

"Guys, your special attacks don't seem to do much damage, do a direct attack now!"
Castor yelled out from a far, watching the battle carefully and commanding with pure instincts.

Icuru followed the directions first and Virva soon followed the charmander. As quick as the two pokemon possibly could, they used their respective attacks of scratch and tackle, in hopes to do some damage to the rhyhorn, it was totally ineffective. Taking advantage of the nearby pokemon, the rhyhorn took another stomp to use magnitude on the two nearby pokemon. It was super effective.

The two pokemon stumbled a bit and fell down, as the earth began to shake and were eventually hit as some of it rose up and went over them. The rhyhorn then kicked the two pokemon over to the crushed rock from not too far away. Fortuantely, it seemed the attack was a low level magnitude and the two pokemon managed to get up, but the attack was still very damaging.

"This isn't good, this isn't good."
Castor chanted to himself, seeing how much harm and ineffective the two pokemon were against this rhyhorn.
"Icuru, use smokescreen! Virva avoid trying to damage the rhyhorn and just protect Icuru!"
Castor yelled out as he tried to think of a better plan, since going instinctively obviously didn't work.

The grunt just laughed in response, enjoying the battle thoroughly.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 26 2010, 10:53 PM

"Wow," Tyson said, totally in shock. He honestly didn't know what to say about Tikal trying to find her father. "I hope you find your father. If you want, I'll tag along with you."

Posted by: Golden Lucario Jan 27 2010, 11:51 AM

Alex froze completely still. He quickly answered, very hurriedly, as if he was very scared and worried.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, Alex, I am."
Alex's eyes were wide, his expression as if he was scared. He paused for a few seconds. Then he said.
"Ok..." after this, Alex started to run off. He ran as fast as he had that cold, dark Halloween night long ago, he was terrified. Gay people made his skin crawl. He was, in truth, homophobic. It just wasn't natural! How could two MEN, fancy each other and want to do... Alex stopped his train of thought right there, instead focusing on what he'd do. He was stuck on this island, in the middle of nowhere, only knowing where one person was, and that person was a homosexual, and only a few paces behind him. He tried to think rationally, but only one thing came to mind.

RUN.

Alex became the rabbit, chased by the fox. He ran as if he was escaping for his life. He ran, ran, and ran a little more, until eventually, he was certain that Ellis Mackrell was no longer on his tail. He didn't look back and check, he just reasoned that the hunter, in all occasions, didn't have that extra fleeing energy that the prey had.

He stopped, regaining both his breath and his thoughts. He realized he was being stupid. Why was he running about? He was running, he realized, because he was scared that Ellis fancied HIM. He didn't want Ellis to be chasing him around, desperate for him. The thought repulsed him.
But it could be anyone. he realized. Yes, that was it. It could be anyone.

He turned his head to see Ellis, finally catch up.
"Why did you run off like that?" asked the young sailor.
"Oh, erm... I think I saw the hut. I guess not..." lied Alex.
"Don't lie. You ran because you have a phobia of gay people, don't you? Well guess what? It's stupid. Until now, even I didn't realize I was gay. And it's not like I fancy you. Not in any way! No offence, but if you're afraid of gays, then I have to admit I've never liked ginger, or orange, as a hair colour. Too bright. Stands out in a crowd. No, the person I fancy, I've realized, is definitely on this island. We saw him earlier today."
"What?" asked Alex, puzzled.
"His name," said Ellis, slowly, "Is Castor."
But before Alex could react, his phone started blaring out the tune to the POKERAP!

Posted by: rt117 Jan 27 2010, 01:40 PM

ooc: wait, he fancys Castor? o.o

"Thanks, but the world is so big to explore, so it may be even years." she frowned, deciding to move off the saddening subject. She rose her head and came to a stop, seeing a small structure not too far away. "I think I see a hut..." she said more absentmindedly to herself than to Tyson, before she broke into a run, her Igglybuff now struggling to hold on to her head as she went.
When she got there she went straight inside, spotting a phone. She remembered Alex had told her to call him if they saw anything out of the ordinary, so ignoring her surroundings she went straight for it, picking it up and dialing his number.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 27 2010, 03:23 PM

Just before he could respond, Tyson saw her break into a mad dash towards a small hut.

"Hey, wait up!" Tyson yelled to Tikal, hoping she'd slow down. He finally reached the hut, breathing heavily, showing he was out of shape and breath. He looked up and saw Tikal with the phone in her hand. "I have a cell phone that you could have used." He responded slowly. He then looked at his phone to see that it had no service at all.

The Rhyhorn tried to escape from the smog, but couldn't find itself it escape. For the moment, the two manage to get some time to relax. Things were really bad for Castor and his pokemon. The Rhyhorn was thoroughly destroying the two pokemon it was up against, without much of a sweat despite the fact it was a two on one battle and both the Charmander and Mareep were practically doubled the Rhyhorns level. (The second being reasonable since all of the pokemon were inexperienced.)

"Ugh, this really isn't good, Icuru and Virva can't hurt this guy...Graaah." Castor growled to himself, the opposing grunt smiled at the trainer's distraught and proceeded to give his pokemon a command.

"Rhyhorn, use magnitude...in all directions!"

The rhyhorn did as it's master ordered and took a single stomp to the ground, causing small pieces of earth to flow in all directions. Fortuantely, by not being focused, the attack was weakened just enough for Castor's pokemon to not be too effected by the small pieces of earth being chucked at them to hurt them too severely, but the attack did manage to have two more important reactions: One, it managed to make all the smoke go away, leaving the rhyhorn very visible and everything visible to the rhyhorn. The second, was a bit more important.

The magnitude, though small it still brought a bit of damage to the surrounding beach. The nearby soil was now flowing down the seaside cliffs, bringing a small, but dangerous, mudslide like flow. The main importance of this event is that a Marill was sleeping on the side of these cliffs, now in a situation of danger. Even with the importance of the battle, Castor still managed to notice the doomed Marill and couldn't help but bring himself to help, not really noticing the great help the Marill could be to him. Castor looked over towards his pokemon and returned them, knowing that if he were to leave them, they would have no chance at survival. He then ran quickly towards the Marill in hopes of saving it, not saying anything as he ran, trying not to seem cowardly.

The grunt laughed as he saw the kid run away. This Rhyhorn he was given was much too powerful for him. He proceeded laugh greatly, feeling as if he was the greatest being in the world. This false confidence took over his composure for a good amount of time, enough for Castor to get to the Marill.

The soil was falling in a rather linear path from south, where Castor and the grunt were, to North, where the marill was. It wasn't moving too quickly, but enough to make Castor move as fast as he could to reach the Marill, knowing it would be a really close call when he reached it. With a quick slide, Castor caught the Marill from it's little spot near the cliff, dodging the soil by a few feet, he then got up and proceeded to get out of the dirt's path of demolition.

"That was somewhat close...You okay little guy?"

Castor said looking back at the soil, which now was at the Marill's little spot and continually falling and proceeding to look down towards the feamle Marill.

The Marill proceeded to wake up and look up at the human in confusion and even fear.

Castor looked at it was a little confusion, not really sure how he should reply with the Marill, he wasn't really good with people, pokemon no less, despite his two pokemon being very endearing to him.

The Marill looked around, trying to find it's location, it soon figured out what happened and gave a glow of gratitude towards the human boy.

Castor simply smiled at the pokemon, again not really knowing how to reply.

The Marill then jumped from the boy's arms to look behind him, something was coming.

It was the grunt, with his rhyhorn. Apparently the grunt finally realized the problem of letting the kid go, he knew his identity and that he was a Deception Member. That wasn't acceptable! He had been riding his rhyhorn on the way here, letting it build a steady acceleration to charge at Castor with, in hopes of harming the boy greatly, killing him if possible, to keep him quiet. This would have probably worked, if a certain stream of water didn't come to hit the Rhyhorn directly on it's head, forcing it to the ground and fall.

The grunt fell face first when the rhyhorn fell to it's knees. The Marill's attack greatly effected the beast. He grumbled in the dirt while trying to get up.

"That didn't work out..."

Castor then took advantage of the situation easily. He walked up to the grunt and stepped ontop of his back, forcing him back onto the ground. He began to rub his gloves, just incase electricity was needed in the coming situation.

"So, Deception guy. You know anything about a golden Magikarp or a base or something around this island?"

The grunt remained quiet, knowing it was very important to remain quiet when being interrogated. Castor replied with a swift punch to his back, sending small shocks of energy throughout his body.

"You want me to repeat? A base on this island?"

The grunt puffed out a grunt on pain, but still remained quiet. Castor simply replied with another electrically powered punch. This processed continued for a while in till Castor felt satisfied. As it turned out, the grunt didn't really know much, he was sent to the island to pick up some rare pokemon that were being kept there and train the rhyhorn a bit, but he wasn't told where the 'base' of the island was because he was suppose to be escorted there when he came to the island, but it seemed he came on the wrong coast and he himself was rather lost.

"So, you don't know where the base is. That sucks."

Castor said giving another blow to the guy,

"I guess you can go then."

Castor then took his foot from the guys back and walked away, letting him slowly, but painfully get up. The grunt then slowly climbed onto his high weakened rhyhorn and asked for it to take them to the ocean, despite it's weakness to water and as such, the pokemon did in hopes to get away from the firey teen.

When the grunt managed to get away, Castor went to the Marill.

"Hey, I got a question for you."

The Marill looked over at the teenager, interested in him after this whore misadventure.

"You want to join me on my journey?"

Obviously the pokemon understood and nodded gleefully. It was a really a wonderful idea to the pokemon.

"Heh, alright, I'm going to have to catch you know, okay?"

The Pokemon nodded, a large smile was on her face. Castor then pulled out an empty pokeball from his pocket and flopped it to the top of the Marill's head, engulfing it was a red light which entered the ball.

Click.

The Marill was caught!

Castor then summoned up the Marill and looked down to it.
"Alright, welcome to my party!"

The Marill danced gleefully, happy to have something to do with it's life.

Castor then summoned his two other pokemon to let them all get to know the newcomer. After a few moments of gossip, the four then continued on their search for the Golden Magikarp.

By the time Alex had got his phone out of his pocket, the tune was blaring out.
"ZUBAT, PRIMEAPE, MEOWTH, ONIX! GEODUDE, RAPIDASH, MEGNETON, SNO-"
"Hello? Alex speaking."
"Hey Alex. You OK?" said Tikal's voice on the end of the phone.
"I guess so. Any news?"
"Uh-huh. WE found the hut. On the west coast."
"OK. See ya then!"
Alex hung up.
"Tikal and Tyson have found the hut. Hey, wonder what they've been up to in this time?"
Ellis mimed kissing. Alex chuckled.
"Yeah, Lol. Anyway, shall we go!"
"Better call Castor."
"I'll let you do it, I know you're desperate."
Alex handed him the Phone.
"Hey Castor!"
There was a pause.
"No. Alex isn't gay."
Another pause.
"Well, Tikal and Tyson found the hut. You need to make your way westwards, quickly."
And another pause.
"OK. Bye!" and with that, Ellis hung up.
"I like the way you said 'Alex isn't' and not 'We're not gay, Castor.'"
"Let's see if he gets it. He's probably going to take a while to come to it."
"Yeah. Anyway... let's go."

The two boys started running as fast as they could, westwards. Alex realized that he'd just had a normal conversation with a gay person. His head exploded. God Alex, you really are maturing and changing. he told himself. He chuckled slightly at this. He pictured little Alex, just leaving Daas, all scared about the world. It was amazing where he'd come in such a small space of time. It hadn't even been a year! That reminded him. It would be August soon, his birthday... Alex liked getting older. He knew that once he was an adult, he'd groan about getting older, but now, he was enjoying maturing. It made him feel a lot older than Castor, with his annoying jibes and comments.

They soon got to the west coast, and looked south and then north. Alex had thought that they'd be north of the hut, but they were in fact south of it. The island was bigger than it seemed! They headed north, and in a couple of minutes they were there.

But there was no sign of either Tyson or Tikal.

Castor had just hung up his pokegear.
That was rather, odd. At this point, Castor would have figured that the two would know he was just joking at this point, but whatever. The fact that Ellis only mentioned that Alex wasn't gay completely went over his head and the fact that Ellis had a crush on him was completely non-existent in the boy's mind.

Castor then proceeded to change his direction westward, knowing it would take him some time to get to the opposite end of the island, Castor returned to his pokegear, he had some more calls to make.

"Hey, guess what I just did?"
"Yeah, I caught a Marill, I decided to nickname her Azure."
"No reason it just felt fitting."
"So, you caught a Riolu?"

A conversation proceeded and eventually ended as all conversations do.
Oddly, this one didn't seem to follow Castor's personality at all, it made him seem a little softer, if you will.
Once he finished up his first talk, Castor soon came to called another number and talked a little bit more. This conversation however, Castor seemed much more like his normal self, more energy driven and pretty rough.

By the time he finished this socializing, he had managed to be in a visible distance to the warehouse, he managed to arrive there in about 10 minutes after Ellis and Axel. His three pokemon were following him.

He looked at the two and said hi, in a fairly decent fashion. His pokemon proceeded with their own greetings.

"Maaa."

"Chaa."

"Riii."

"Hello Castor." said Alex.
Castor nodded in response.
"Well... as you can see, Tikal and Tyson are not here. We'll wait here for a while in case they're just snogging behind a bush somewhere, but I'm going in if we're here for longer than 15 minutes. I'll get the Pokemon escaped, and against my better judgement, I'm putting your with Ellis. You'll be distracting the bad guys whilst in there. Tikal will join you if she comes, and Tyson will come with me."
"Any reason why you're doing this Alex?" asked Ellis.
"I just want to mix it up a little."
"But why not Castor with you?"
"Ellis, I would have thought you'd jump at the opportunity."
"But still! I'm thinking of Castor here!"
"My decision is final."
Ellis grumbled.

"Alright~Whatever works with you. Although wouldn't it make more sense for Ellis to go with, to find his Magikarp and all that."

Castor said, growing a little suspicious, not of the plan with Ellis, but just the plan in gneral.

"Afterall, I can probably cause enough of a distraction by myself, and wouldn't less people be better for a distraction, anyways and more people be helpful for collecting the pokemon, too?"

Castor asked, each question directly after another.

"But, whatever, I guess you just want to debunk that gay thing I said earlier, huh? I guess I'll go along anyways, regardless of how little sense this plan makes."

Castor laughed, causing the suspicions to go away and for the hole in the plan to be filled by his own form of ignorance.

Before stepping inside, Tyson automatically assumed that the hut would be rather simplistic, dull, and rather quaint in stature. This, Tyson thought to himself while staring at it outside, looks like a nice little place to get away from it all. Looks, in this case, were very decieving. He stared in astonishment at all of the electronical equipment and computers within the small area. Lights began to flash around the pair, showing information on the screen. Several rows of stasis tubes were lined up behind the computers near the back wall. Two grunts walked in front of the tubes and began to talk.

"...Joe..." One of them said. He had short, blond hair, black eyes, and a small cut on his left cheek. He had slim eyebrows, and a "baby" face His uniform was loose fitting with a large D on the right sleeve of his jacket. He simply glared at Joe, who glared right back.

"What is it, Pete?" Joe asked in total frustration. His hair was brown, stopping to his shoulders, with several split ends. He had brown eyes, a mustache, and bushy eyebrows. His uniform fit him snuggly, holding a miniscule red "D" on the left part of his chest.

"Did you hear someone," Pete asked, not believing that he had. "It sounded like a trespasser." Joe's eyes flashed with intrigue and hope, since neither of them had a battle for sometime now.

"..." Joe stared silently at the doorway before walking towards it. Meanwhile, in a corner, near the phone, Tyson hid against the wall, with Tikal right next to him.

"I need you to just stay calm..." Tyson told her before putting his index finger in front of his mouth, signalling her to hush. He edged his way to his left, slinking and slithering his way towards one of the tubes. Tyson bumped his elbow into a wall, swearing after he did so. This caught the attention of both Joe and Pete, but he was closer to Joe, which made him rush towards him.

"What are you doing here, runt?" Joe asked him with much bass and anger in his voice.

"Well..." Tyson began, "I'm here for house keeping."

"Oh," Joe responded with a smile on his face. "Well in that case..."

"YOU IDIOT!" Pete yelled at Joe before he let Tyson escape from them. "He's no housekeeper! He's a trainer! He's probably here about the package!"

"Package?" Tyson asked, trying to see if he can lie his way into safety, "what package? I don't know anything about a package."

"Liar!" Pete roared at Tyson, causing him to flinch slightly. He backed himself into the wall, with both of them glaring at him.

"I swear!" Tyson responded in a fake state of fear. He began to shake nervously and then felt them back away.

"Fine," Pete responded, "prove it. Battle us both!"

"Ohhh..." Tyson sighed deeply before realizing that this was going to be a problem, "this won't end well..."

Posted by: rt117 Jan 28 2010, 05:03 PM

As Tikal was on the phone, she felt a slight tap on her shoulder. She glanced back to Tyson who appeared to be somewhat panicked. He held his index finger to his lip, so she was unable to ask what exactly was going on, but as she heard the talking as well she turned her head slightly to see two figures talking.

Slowly, Tikal slipped the phone from her ear and hung up, leaving Alex to figure the rest out on his own as she quietly began to follow him into the shadows. However with Tyson's cursing echoing throughout the hut to catch the strangers' attention, she froze in place, still partially hidden in the shadows.

It didn't take her long to realize during the conversation that she had not been discovered yet by these two men, who from their conversation she learned their names were 'Joe' and 'Pete'. She eyed the doorway that they had come through and for a brief moment the idea of escape flashed into her thoughts. She shook her head slightly however, disregarding the thought. They were supposed to watch out for each other, and she wouldn't forgive herself for abandoning a friend.

As Tyson backed away and the two men offered a challenge she suddenly stepped forward, placing her hand on Tyson's shoulder in a comforting way before she turned to face the pair.
"If it's a battle you want, then you're going to have to go through me as well." she told them boldly, her Igglybuff glaring at the two men with red eyes and puffing herself out slightly in challenge.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 28 2010, 05:24 PM

In a state of astonishment, Tyson simply sighed with relief and panic mixed together. He was relieved that Tikal had decided to join in, but...

"Tikal.." Tyson whispered to her before looking back at the members of Deception. He snarled up before taking out a Poke Ball. He looked at Tikal and leaned towards her. "I'll take Joe." He whispered soothingly in her ear, "the blond one's all yours." He then looked back at Joe. "Alright, Joey," Tyson said, ready to battle, "let's go!"

"With pleasure!" Joe responded, pulling out an all black Poke Ball. He threw it into the air, releasing an all grey Pokemon with magnets for arms. There was a screw in the top of its head and two at the base of its small, rounded body. The one major thing that stood out was its lone eyeball smack dab in the center of it. Obviously, this was a Magnemite, and one that apparently was trained slightly.

"Heh," Tyson chuckled at the opponent's choice of Pokemon, trying not to be sarcastic already. He tossed the Pokeball up into the air. "Let's go, Blaze!" In a burst of colorfil light, Blaze came out of his nice little slumber to see a Magnemite before him. He sniffed the air around the magnet Pokemon, causing Magnemite to shock it slightly.

"Ow!" Blaze said to Magnemite in frustration, "That hurt, you jerk!"

"BZZ! BZZ!" The Magnemite responded darkly, "I DON'T CARE IF I HURT YOU! THAT'S MY MISSION!"

"Oh yeah?" Blaze asked with anger now in his voice, "Well, you're about to fail!"

"BZZ! BZZ!" Magnemite chuckled evilly at the small fire type Pokemon before finally looking back at him in disgust, "LET'S SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO!"

Posted by: rt117 Jan 28 2010, 05:59 PM

Tikal nodded in response to Tyson's plan. "Alright, but if you start running into trouble, don't hesitate to ask for help." she replied back with a slight grin before turning back to Pete. She glanced over briefly to see Joe bring forth his first Pokemon, a Magnemite, as well as seeing Tyson call out his Cyndaquil. He seemed overly confident in his decision to battle, something that she didn't necessarily have herself.

"Hey! I said choose your Pokemon!" Pete shouted in irritation, his Rattata already out in front of him and snarling in intimidation at Tikal. She snapped back into reality and glanced at his choice Pokemon with a slight frown. "Rattata is a normal type isn't it..." she thought to herself, glancing back at the Pokeballs in her hand. "So who would do the best...wait!"

She grabbed one of the shrunken Pokeballs, pressing the button once to enlarge it before she tossed it up into the air. In a dazzling bright light Nidoran emerged, shaking himself out slightly before eying the similar sized Pokemon.

"You'd better watch yourself." Rattata grinned, his large teeth shining in the dim light. Nidoran said nothing in response, having normally been a rather quiet and docile Pokemon, though always on high alert.

"Let's get started, Rattata use Tackle!" Pete boomed in a commanding voice. Rattata let out the equivalent of a war cry before racing forwards towards Nidoran, who was still sitting there and watching his opponent come at him.

"Nidoran, use Leer!" Tikal called out, knowing that he wouldn't be able to dodge the faster Pokemon. He got on all fours and glared evilly at the Rattata, making it stop dead in its tracks in fear as it looked directly at its foe.

"Rattata! Shake it off!" Pete shouted at his Pokemon, visibly furious at his Pokemon's cowardice towards the small Purple rabbit-like Pokemon. "Use Quick Attack!"

Rattata snapped back into reality as it finally got its eyes off of Nidoran, then in a flash it disappeared, only to appear beside Nidoran. Before he could respond, he slammed into his opponent rather brutally, causing them both to tumble to the ground.

"You can do it Nidoran!" Tikal shouted, worry on her face for making her friend fight. She needed to keep him in high spirits despite the blow. "Fight back with Double Kick!"

Slowly Nidoran got back to his feet, glancing back at Rattata who was already up. He suddenly launched himself high into the air, bringing his stubby hind legs forward and delivering a blow to Rattata's face, throwing him back with a Super Effective hit. And as the Pokemon got back up it faced a second blow from the other half of the attack.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 28 2010, 07:55 PM

Tyson smirked at the statement that Tikal made, almost as if he was half hoping to get some help. He, however, then was focused back onto the battle at hand. Joe smirked at Tyson and cocked his head to the side.

"I advise you," Joe told him, "to pay more attention to me than you're doing that girl over there."

"I advise you," Tyson responded cooly, "to mind your business instead of worrying about me!"

"Hmph!" Joe scoffed before flipping his shiny brown hair from in front of his eyes. He pointed his long index finger towards Blaze. "Magnemite, use Metal Sound, followed by Sonic Boom!" The Magnemite drifted towards Blaze before pointing both of its magnets at him.

"BZZ! BZZ!" Magnemite buzzed in anger, "TAKE THIS, PUNK!!!" A loud, high pitched screech was emitted from the small metal sphere. This effected Blaze greatly, causing him to whimper in pai. Right after Blaze was left, curled up onto the ground, a wave of air came whistling towards the young Cyndaquil.

"Blaze, look out!" Tyson yelled in hopes that his Pokemon could hear him, but to no avail. Blaze looked at the oncoming attack too late. The wave came crashing into young Blaze, sending him back a few feet.

"Ggh!" Blaze grunted before finally getting up. He growled lowly, his red spots on his back glowing a bright orange.

"BZZ! BZZ!" Magnemite buzzed cockily, "YOU MUST THINK YOU CAN STILL FIGHT! PATHETIC! THIS IS ALL TOO EASY FOR ME!"

"Really now," Blaze said in a cocky tone, "well, allow me to TURN UP THE HEAT!!!" In a brilliant flash that almost looked like an explosion, Blaze's back erupted into one large, brilliant flame.

"Alright," Tyson breathed, finally knowing how strong this Pokemon was, "no more playing around. Time to get for real." He adjusted his hat and pointed towards Joe and his Magnemite. "Blaze, I want you to use Ember on him, alright?" Blaze nodded and breathed in deeply, puffing out his cheeks. Magnemite didn't know what to expect from the small Pokemon, so he easily underestimated him. Once Blaze released the flames, however, Magnemite looked rather shocked and horrified at the oncoming attack. The shower of extremely hot embers coated the magnet like Pokemon, harming him greatly.

"How's THAT for easy?" Blaze responded to the taunts from the evil Magnemite.

"BZZ! BZZ!" Magnemite grunted in pain, "I'M NOT LOSING TO A PUNK LIKE YOU!"

"Blaze," Tyson called out to his trusty Cyndaquil, who was looking slightly tired, but still ready for a battle. "Hit him with another Ember!"

"Magnemite," Joe called out to the metallic Pokemon, "use Thundershock!" As Blaze shot the numerous flames out once again, Magnemite became shrouded within an electrical cloak.

"Huh?" Blaze said in total confusion, "How is THAT possible?"

"BZZ! BZZ!" Magnemite said in frustration before pointing his magnets towards Blaze once more, "TAKE THIS!!!" A bolt of electricity zapped its way straight to Blaze, shocking him on contact. Blaze yelled in pain, causing Tyson to go into a state of panic.

"BLAZE!" Tyson yelped as he saw his young Cyndaquil getting electrocuted to the ground. He honestly didn't know what to do, and stood in a state of total shock...

Posted by: rt117 Jan 28 2010, 08:15 PM

Nidoran stood over Rattata rather confidently, putting his poison barb to his opponent's side. However the flare of electricity that was Thundershock caught his attention as it had almost appeared to be coming for him from the corner of his eye. He jumped away from his opponent, turning and spinning to face the Magnemite. However he realized that the attack hadn't been aimed for him, and eyed his partner in worry.

"NOW!"

Nidoran's ears fell back in alarm by the rather loud noise, and when he turned he was sent sprawling by a last resort Tackle made by Rattata. He sprawled out onto the floor, eyes glaring up at his foe who stood confidently over him.

"Rule number one: Never turn your back to your opponent." Rattata told him with a smug look, before wincing in pain.
"Rule number two: Never attack something with poisonous barbs..." Nidoran spoke, voice regaining strength as he delivered a swift Double Kick to Rattata who was now suffering from poisoning. After both attacks were made by Nidoran, Rattata fell unconscious causing Pete to jump back in alarm and frustration.

"No way!" he shouted in anger, before recalling his knocked out Pokemon and replacing it with another eager Rattata. "You better not fail me!"

"Good job Nidoran!" Tikal called with a smile, returning him to his Pokeball. She pulled out another one, this time calling forth her Charmander. Puffs of smoke floated from his mouth as he examined his opponent, the flame on his tail burning brightly.

As Charmader stared down his opponent, Tikal looked over to Tyson's fight and frowned. "Blaze..." she said lightly before looking to Tyson. "Will he be alright?" she asked, looking slightly worried.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 28 2010, 08:36 PM

Pain seared through Blaze's body, making him wince in agony. However, this wasn't the only reason he was in pain. Apparently, he had taken a direct hit from the technique, which made it even worse.

"Will he be alright?" Tikal asked, causing Tyson to turn and look at her. Before he was able to make the Poke Ball expand, Blaze shot a few Embers at his owner.

"Blaze!" Tyson yelled, still showing much concern with his Pokemon. "What's gotten into you?" Blaze shook his head and glared at the Magnemite once more. "Oh..." Tyson finally picked up on what the spunky Cyndaquil was saying. Tyson didn't want Blaze to be harmed, but apparently, Blaze didn't want to give up. "When things get too hot..." Tyson told his small companion, who simply nodded to acknowledge him. Blaze soon scampered back to the battle, ready for more.

"Your Pokemon," Joe replied with a smug look on his face, "is completely foolish," he chuckled lowly at his statement, "just like his owner..."

"Hey," Tyson said, ready for a fierce battle once again, "neither I nor my Cyndaquil are foolish." He snarled at Joe, who in turn, snarled at him back.

"You're still about to battle," Joe stated plainly.

"Your point?" Tyson asked with much anger building up.

"That's foolish enough for me," Joe responded, smiling and folding his arms.

"S-shut up!" Tyson yelled, tears welling up in his eyes. He was angry, but there was some truth in Joe's statement. If this kept up, Blaze could easily get hurt. Blaze, however, didn't even mind battling himself into an unconscious state. "Blaze! I want you to use the biggest Ember you possibly can, alright?" Blaze nodded and began to build up flames.

"BZZ! BZZ!" Magnemite said, thinking he had won, "THIS AGAIN?! YOU'RE SO PITIFUL!!!"

Before the Magnemite could react, a large flame gushed out of Blaze's mouth, engulfing the magnet Pokemon within it. After the attack ended, Magnemite simply floated there for a second, soon dropping to the ground, knocked out.

"WHAT?!?!" Both Tyson and Joe said out loud, "NO WAY!!!"

"How did he do that?" Tyson asked himself quietly, soon snapping back to reality. Joe was still in astonishment, not even observing the battle any longer. He pulled out the same Pokeball that he summoned the Magnemite with, calling it back in a beam of red light. He stuffed the ball back into his pocket, pulling out a second, almost identical ball.

"Hm?" Tyson said in slight confusion, "anoher one? Didn't you learn?"

"Voltorb!" Joe called out, ready for the next battle to commence, "Get out here!"

A flash revealed a red and white orb with a pair of eyes, glaring at Blaze. Tyson stared in complete confusion, not knowing that there was a Pokemon that resembled a Poke Ball.

"Uh..." Tyson said, rather astonished that someone would actually go through the trouble of catching one of these Pokemon. "Okay, we'll beat him all the same!"

Posted by: rt117 Jan 28 2010, 09:12 PM

Tikal smiled at Tyson as Blaze knocked out the Magnemite, not having expected him to be so stubborn as to nearly burn Tyson. Glancing back to her own battle she called out to her Charmander, "Start with Smokescreen!"

Charmander flashed a toothed grin to this Rattata before spewing out a haze of black smoke, covering Rattata in a thin coat of black soot. It opened his eyes after rubbing some of the soot away to find itself lost in the haze. However a quick Ember gave Charmander's position away as it bombarded the Rattata. Rattata got up after being knocked down, charging towards the last known spot of Charmander.

Pete was growling, unable to see the fight progress with all the smoke, so he shouted: "Tackle the brat out of the smoke!"

Charmander kept moving, firing Ember into the smoke before moving, however he was soon caught by Tackle and thrown into the wall. Pete grinned cruelly before shouting a command to use Quick Attack. Rattata charged quickly at Charmander, knocking him down again.

"Smokescreen again!" Tikal called to him as Rattata charged with another Tackle. Once his foe got close, Charmander let loose another spew of Smokescreen at point-blank range, covering Rattata's face entirely in soot. Getting back to his feet, he struck at his opponent with Scratch.

"Good job Charmander! Finish him off with Ember!" Tikal cheered, her Igglybuff crying out happily.

Charmander's mouth began to glow red as he let forth a hail of embers, finishing off his foe in a torrent of fire.

"It's been ages! They're still not here!" exclaimed Ellis, to Alex. Castor just stood, looking annoyed and bored.
"I keep telling you. It's not fifteen minutes left." replied Alec calmly."
"You just said there were only two minutes left! Come ON, Alex!" said Ellis.
"Patience is a virtue. Obviously one you do not possess." replied Alex.
Ellis fell silent. He turned round to loom at Castor, and closed his eyes, dreaming, Alex suspected, of Castor. The fact that Ellis was gay still made Alex wary, but not as much as it had. He still didn't like standing near him. But he wouldn't run away.

Alex also closed his eyes briefly. Then he re-opened them, imagining himself about love. He knew you couldn't force himself, his mother had always said that. But his father was very insistent that you had to try to meet people, so that there was a higher chance of you getting 'paired of quickly' as his dad said. But then again, his dad had said that a boy who ate no meat would die before the age of 10, and Alex had been a vegetarian for quite a while now. He hadn't had any ill effects, in fact his muscles were stronger than ever.

Ellis said something, which Alex didn't quite catch, busy in his thoughts.
"Sorry?" he asked.
"Is it time yet?" asked Ellis.
Alex looked at his watch.
"Uh-huh."

The three boys stood at the door. They opened it, slowly, but carefully. And set off an alarm.

Posted by: Protoman Jan 29 2010, 02:27 PM

Tyson and Joe glared at each other, their Pokemon imitating their owners entirely. From the wrinkles on their noses (or in Voltorb's case, under the corners of its), to the furrowed brows. Tyson simply scoffed at Joe and his Voltorb, causing them both to smirk.

"Let's end this now!" Tyson said before pointing his index finger directly towards Joe. Right after he said this, an alarm went off, blaring harshly within the thick, humid air. This distracted Tyson easily, as well as Blaze. The pair only saw a figure standing in the shadows, not knowing who it is. Apparently, Voltorb didn't hear anything, beginning to become agitated with the battle.

"Yo," Voltorb said, a little bit of anger in his voice, "do you think you can pay attention to me?" This had no prevail whatsoever, seeing as how Tyson was still utterly distracted by the entrance of whomever this was. He was also distracted by the constant screech of the siren.

"Aw man," Tyson said, slightly blinded by the light, "now I can't see who it is!"

Posted by: rt117 Jan 29 2010, 09:38 PM

Tikal and Pete were still in combat as he called back his second unconscious Rattata. He pulled out his last two Pokeballs and brought out both his Rattata to face off against Tikal's Charmander.

"Hey, this is a one on one battle!" Tikal shouted at him, acting quickly before either of his Pokemon could strike and pulling him back into his Pokeball.

"What's wrong? Can't face two at once?" he taunted, both of his Rattata chattering in what could be thought of as a laugh. Tikal frowned, and called out her Totodile before plucking Igglybuff from her head, who was somewhat awe-inspired by the battle.

"Why don't you take a shot?" she asked her newest addition. Igglybuff shook her head however and tried to hide her head.
"Don't worry, I bet you can take them out easily. Besides you'll have help." Tikal responded, rubbing Igglybuff's head in reassurance. She set her Pokemon down and watched as she reluctantly moved forwards.

Both Rattata snickered as they watched Igglybuff take her place next to Totodile, rather wary of her partner due to their first meeting. "What's this? I thought we were fighting Pokemon, not toys!" one laughed, his partner nodding in agreement and sharing in on the laughter. He suddenly vanished however, blown back by Totodile's Water Gun. Totodile cheered before racing forward and landing a Scratch on the stunned partner of his opponent. Igglybuff however stood exactly where she had started, huddled down with Defense Curl.

"I know I'm NOT getting ignored!" Voltorb growled angrily, sparks beginning to build up within him. Blaze saw this happening and tried to Tackle it. Voltorb simply zapped Blaze backwards, causing him to tumble. The navy blue mouse Pokemon struggled to get up, finally able to stand on his paws. His legs quivered slightly as he glared at his enemy. With his vision getting blurry, Blaze began to fade in and out of consciousness. Tyson saw this, half hoping he could heal his tired and battered Pokemon.

"Blaze..." Tyson said to his small partner. He immediately noticied the sparks coming from the body of the young Cyndaquil, immediately seeing that either paralysis or fainting would occur next. The pair simply glared at one another, waiting for the next attack.

"I can't lose!" Blaze said out loud to Voltorb, his legs finally becoming steady, "my master is depending on me!"

"You serve a master?" Voltorb asked with curiosity, its red brow furrowing. "Well, I feel bad for you, kid."

"Why?" Blaze asked the spherical Pokemon, "My owner and I have lots of fun." He looked at Voltorb and its trainer, finally realizing the major problem.

"What?" Voltorb asked, more sparks building up around him.

"You don't know what fun is, huh?" Blaze asked, half hoping that he did.

"Of course I do!" Voltorb responded angrily before shaking violently, "WATCH THIS!!!"

"No Voltorb," Joe said in a large panic, trying to find cover.

"Uh-oh!" Tyson said before grabbing Blaze and covering him up from the exploding pokemon. In a flash of white light, Voltorb exploded, sending a cloud of smoke within the area.
-------
"Sir," a voice called out, this one was a female.

"What is it?" A gruff voice responded, "it had better be some good news."

"N-not exactly, sir," the female responded meekly.

"Watch this room," the gruff voice responded before standing up. He walked out of the door, towards the newly made battle field.

The twin Rattata, Totdile and Igglybuff were sent sprawling as a result from the neighboring battle, tossed into the wall like ragdolls. Tikal and Pete were forced to cover their mouths from the clouds of dust, both of them now more interested in the other battle.

"Someone has anger issues..." one of the Rattata sighed, helping his partner get back up before they returned to battle, advancing on Totodile and Igglybuff. Both made swift Quick Attacks and knocked Tikal's two Pokemon back. However as Igglybuff fell she began to roll, bouncing off the back wall and rolling furiously into the opposing Rattata. Despite his speed, he was no match for the runaway Pokemon, and was barreled by Igglybuff.

Tikal's eyes glanced back over to her fight and she smiled. She saw that her Pokemon was making use of the bad situation by using Rollout. "Good job Igglybuff!" she cheered.

Totodile got back to his feet, his body glowing slightly. As he was struck by Rattata again by Tackle, he stormed forward in a fury and bit his opponents tail hard with Rage before flinging him into his fallen comrade. As the two were slumped against each other, they rose their eyes to see Igglybuff flying at them with her continued Rollout, tossing them both into Pete and knocking them out.

Tikal and her two Pokemon cheered in victory over Pete's defeat, and Tikal pulled out Totodile's ball to bring him back while quickly scooping up Igglybuff, who was having difficulty in stopping her Rollout. As she held the Pokemon in her arms and stuck her tongue out at Pete, who was scowling, she noticed a new figure moving into the room. Tikal moved back over to Tyson. "I'm done." she smiled.

"Alex, it's been ages!" moaned Ellis.
"Actually, it's only been fourteen minutes so far." replied Alex, very calm and straight faced.
"Come ON! ONE minute left! Let's just go!" exclaimed Ellis.
"No. We wait a minute." said Alex.
Just then, a huge explosion came from inside the hut.

"Can we go in now?" asked Ellis, waering a very smug I-told-you-so expression.
"Of course..." said Alex, running towards to door.
They got to it very quickly indeed.
Alex looked at the door and groaned.
"Password locked! ****!" he groaned. "And there's only 3 options."
"Golden Magikarp." said Ellis.
"Good one." said Alex, typing it in. "But no."
Alex himself typed in 'shiny'.
"Drat!" he exclaimed.
"Red Gyrados." said Castor, from the back.
"Why?" asked Alex.
"Because, there is a chance that Ellis' Golde evolved."
Alex typed the password in.

The door clicked open.

Smoke poured out from the hut, resembling a grill in the summer. Low, slightly muffled coughs and groans could be heard. Tyson heard Tikal's voice and looked up. Apparently, he had been slightly burned by the explosion from the enemy Voltorb. Tyson continued to cough until finally most of the smoke had cleared out. The black clouds dispersed, revealing a group of people on the outside.

"Oh great," Tyson blurted in a trenchant tone. "Like we need more people to battle."

"Well," a grizzly voice bellowed from near both Tyson and Tikal, "it looks like this isn't your day..." A tall, muscular man stepped out from the shadows, almost as if he was a part of them. An eerie smile crept onto his face, sending chills down Tyson's spine.

"Who are you," Tyson growled lowly, trying to intimidate the new foe, "and why did you send your goons after us?"

"To answer your first question," the man responded with the utmost patience, "my name is Max." Now with him in the light, Max's uniform was completely visible to both Tyson and Tikal. With an all black cloak that floated almost like a leaf in the air, he stood in a unfettered manner, highly anticipating the next move from Tyson. Tyson's palms began to grow wet slowly, making him even more nervous as to what to do. He looked at Blaze, already acknowledging the fact that the young navy blue Pokemon couldn't go any longer without resting.

"Okay..." Tyson concluded, not trying to get into more trouble than he already was in, "I guess I'll get going with my friend." Tyson lifted his left hand and made a small waving motion before returning his Cyndaquil and grabbing Tikal by her wrist. He looked at her and mouthed 'Let's go' before being stopped right at the door.

"Sorry, kids," Max told the pair, "but it's an Admin's job to make sure all problems are dealt with..." A dark look slowly revealed itself onto his foes, making Tyson slowly back away from him. "...permanently."

Alex entered the building. It was quite modern-looking inside, for the hut-like thing on the outside. He'd been expecting a very rustic type of building inside, but this was completely different. The Cages were cages, but they were made of power-absorbent glass, Alex could see by the attempts by Pokemon to get out of there. It was like an indoor zoo, just with lots of test tubes in the middle.

There had to be something running this, something more than electricity. It had to be a Pokemon. Alex then looked towards the centre of the room, where he recognized Tyson and Tikal, with Pokeballs ready, ready to face what looked like a pretty rough fighter. Alex could tell that if the three men in the room had been actual Deception guys, the man that his two friends were facing would be an admin. They were of course just regular tough guys wanting some cheap pay, but it still meant that there was trouble.

"Wait!" shouted Alex, running across the floor before skidding along its smooth surface with his wet shoes. "You weren't thinking on leaving me out, were you?"
The Admin smirked.
"One extra kid? Easy. Pete, fetch me numbers 7, 11 and... 1!"
Pete went and came back with three Pokeballs. He handed them to the admin, who Alex had found our was called Max.
"One Pokemon each, kids! Pick Wisely." said Max, grinning.

Tikal felt her wrist being grabbed and being towed towards the doorway, before being stopped by Max. Then Alex showed up, which made her feel slightly better, however the challenge of another fight brought worry to her mind. All of her Pokemon had already fought, and she was rather uncomfortable with making them battle again without taking at least a short break.

One of her Pokeballs opened from within her pocket, and Nidoran appeared in front of her. He looked up at her with a determined look on his face. Tikal remembered his enthusiasm as a protector and guardian, and nodded back to him before announcing:
"I choose Nidoran."

Max smirked at the overenthusiastic Pokemon before bringing his first Pokemon out, a Zigzagoon. Both Tikal and her Nidoran were slightly relieved that it wasn't going to be another Rattata, but the fact that this Zigzagoon looked rather tough and well trained did not make her feel much better. "Just don't overdo it, alright?" Tikal mumbled lightly to Nidoran, hoping he would hear.

"Zigzagoon, use Mud Slap!" Max called, his Pokemon obeying by rushing forwards and bringing a paw out, striking Nidoran with a thick glob of mud. Nidoran stumbled back, shaking his head violently to try and rid of the mud clouding his vision.

"Nidoran, try using Focus Energy, and be prepared for an attack!" Tikal called, realizing he wouldn't be able to dodge attacks very well. Nidoran's small body began to glow a light blue as he kept himself in a calm state, constantly listening for any sound as the poisonous spikes on his body bristled. As Max's Zigzagoon struck Nidoran with Headbutt, he came into contact with the spikes, becoming poisoned in the process.
"Good job Nidoran, now counter with Double Kick!"

Nidoran opened his eyes, lashing out with his hind legs despite his inability to see with the mud, landing his hit on Zigzagoon, who was now realizing that he was poisoned. The blow sent Zigzagoon flying, the strength of the blow aided by Focus Energy. And as Zigzagoon got back up he was struck again by the second blow. Tossing him into the wall.

"Get up Zigzagoon! Attack with another Headbutt!" Max yelled.
Zigzagoon got up, rather startled by his trainer's voice and charged headlong into Nidoran, ignoring the pain of poisoning and colliding with his opponent. Nidoran skidded across the floor on all fours, looking rather worn out. Tikal brought out her Pokeball and tried to call him back, afraid of him getting hurt any more. However as the beam came at him, he quickly avoided it, which told her he wasn't ready to quit yet.

He stood there rather silently, ears turning and twitching as he listened for any sounds. He heard Max roar out the order for another Headbutt, Zigzagoon barking in response and rushing forwards. However as the TinyRaccoon Pokemon got close, he quickly jumped to the side and jabbed his foe with Peck before striking again with Double Kick.

"You aren't finished yet!" Max shouted again at his Pokemon, "Mud Slap again!"
Zigzagoon rose his body off the ground to attack, but being rather weakened slumped back down with a sigh of exhaustion.

"Nidoran, now's your chance, finish him off with Double Kick!" Tikal called to Nidoran. The Poison Pokemon rushed forwards, the mud loosening its grip from his face as he charged forwards and brought up his feet once more, slamming them hard into Zigzagoon's side and knocking him out. Tikal laughed and cheered for her Pokemon as he returned, and she picked up up while being cautious of his spikes, wiping off the last bits of mud that still clung to his face.

Posted by: Protoman Feb 3 2010, 04:49 PM

A snarl appeared onto Max's face as he saw his Zigzagoon collapse in defeat. He pulled out the same Poke Ball he summoned it with, returning the Racoon Pokemon to its containment chamber. He stowed the ball into his pocket, pulling out another one. The ball expanded in size and was tossed into the air. As the sphere opened, it revealed the next Pokemon, a Rattata.

"My turn," Tyson said, stepping forward with Blaze scampering in front. Tyson pulled out a Poke Ball, making his battle ready Cyndaquil return. He pulled out a second Poke Ball, tossing it lightly into the air. "Let's go, Hydro!" In a sudden burst and a flash of light, Hydro stood in front of the Rattata and Max.

"Oh come on," Hydro said in frustration, "How come I can't have a stronger Pokemon to battle?"

"I advise you," the Rattata hissed impatiently, "to be happy you get to face me."

"Hydro, use Tackle!" Tyson called out before the turtle lunged himself towards the rat. In a swift movement, Rattata avoided Hydro's oncoming attack, hitting him as well. This caused Hydro to looked in shock at the Rattata in awe.

"Heh, your Squirtle," Max taunted, "is no match for my Rattata."

"Maybe not," Tyson said, causing Hydro to look back at him, rather agitated at Tyson's statement, "but he's still one of my best friends, so I have the utmost faith in him." This caused the Squirtle to smile at Tyson, making him ready to battle anyone who tried to stand against them.

"Heh," Max scoffed at Tyson's confidence in his Pokemon, "then you're a complete fool." He pointed forward, signalling the Rattata to attack once more. Hydro opened his mouth, releasing a large amount of bubbles, slowing the Rattata down slightly.

"Tackle him now, Hydro!" Tyson bellowed to the Squirtle. By throwing his in entire body forward, he collided into the Rattata, knocking him to the side. As the Rattata skidded across the ground, Hydro flashed a victory sign. All too soon, of course, since the Rattata charged towards Hydro and used his two teeth to chomp down on his arm. The Squirtle hollered out in pain as the Rattata bit down onto the Squirtle. Hydro finally rammed his arm into a wall, squishing the Rattata. As the Rattata tried to gather himself, Hydro was examining the wound he was given by the rat Pokemon.

"Rattata, Quick Attack and then use Bite!" Max called out to his obedient Pokemon. Rattata, who had now gained his speed back, charged towards Hydro, who was glaring at the opponent.

"Hydro?" Tyson said in sheer confusion before Hydro became shrouded in a water like cloak. "What's happening to you?" Without another word, Hydro shot forward like a rocket, colliding with the Rattata. Both were send skidding backwards, but only the Rattata was slightly damaged.

"Impossible!" Max said out of sheer anger, "that's utterly impossible!"

"Not really," Tyson responded before he pointed at the Rattata, "Hydro, use Aqua Jet!" Hydro nodded and was covered in water once more. He charged towards the Rattata, colliding into him and sending him into a wall. Hydro fell onto the ground, rendering the Rattata unconscious. Hydro breathed heavily before being picked up by Tyson.

Alex grinned. The battle was going very well. Extremely well, even. Two Pokemon were floored, and the last, Alex' fight, was just about to happen. He stepped forwards, hitting Tyson's back amicably.
"Well done mate." he said. Then, to Max he shouted out "Come on then! What puny delight awaits me?"
"Don't be so cocky, boy. For the 'delight' that awaits you is vicious, far more powerful than the Squirtle and the Nidoran who luckilly beat my other Pokemon. This one will tear you to shreads, boy."
"Get on with it, Max." said Alex, faking a yawn.
"Go, Charr!" roared the Admin, like an angry beast. He threw the Pokeball, which bounced a few times on the floor before reavealing Max's Pokemon. It was a Charmeleon.

Ok, thought Alex Charmeleon is fire type, that's an easy one. Swamps can shine today!
He threw his Pokeball, and out came his Mudkip. He notcied that Swamps had his eyes focused on the Charmeleon, a slight fire in his eyes. He obviously understood the situation quite well. He must have seen the cages, Alex reasoned.
"A MUDKIP? That all you can do?" taunted Max.
"Whatever." said Alex.
Max opened his mouth to roar a command, but Alex quickly tapped the floor three time. With that, Swamps was already running towards the Charmeleon. He stopped halfway, spouting water viciously. The Charmeleon could do nothing from the unexpected attack. He staggered back, surprised. Alex tapped the floor twice with his foot. Swamps nodded, and started to run again. The Charmeleon, still slightly taken aback by the speed of the first move was not ready for the powerful Tackle that came next. It flew back a small distance. Then he shook his head and took a few steps forwards. Alex punched the air at this good move.

However, the Charmeleon was not hurt much at all. Alex was really worried. On a weaker fire type, that would have done at least half damage, maybe even defeated it! This Charmeleon was really quite strong.
"Use Shadow Claw!" said Max. The Charmeleon lunged at Swamps, clawing him with a power from the shadows.
Swamps recoiled back in pain. Alex realized that this was going to be a tough fight.

Tikal watched the battle by Tyson's side, tending to her Pokemon as the fight progressed. She had all of her Pokemon out, checking them over to see if they had any wounds or injuries that needed to be tended to right away. Igglybuff wasn't badly hurt thanks to her flexible body, while Nidoran seemed the most injured of the group, having battled the most. For this she gave him a few of the Oran berries she had before returning him to his Pokeball. Charmander was only slightly injured, refusing the berries she offered. She returned him without arguing, knowing that he was a bit stubborn if he thought others would need them more. Totodile meanwhile almost bit Tikal's fingers off yet again as she offered him a berry. She managed to recall him without any injuries fortunately.

After checking on her Pokemon she turned to Tyson, offering him a small handful of Oran berries. "I think Blaze could really use him." she told him, remembering the battle they had gone through against the two Deception Grunts. Igglybuff was perched back on Tikal's head, watching the battle between Swamps and the Charmelon with rather wide eyes.

Tikal turned her head to watch as well, hoping that Alex's Mudkip could overcome his foe, as he could be defeated even though he had an advantage. She then took the opportunity to glance around the room, looking for any signs of Golde.

Suddenly she had an idea. Calling out Nidoran while the group was distracted, she crouched down to his level. "Can you look and see if you can find a Golden Magikarp?" she whispered, knowing his hearing was well enough to understand, while the rest of the group was too involved with other matters. He nodded and disappeared into the shadows, on his new task of hunting down this captured Pokemon.

Posted by: Golden Lucario Feb 10 2010, 11:54 AM

Swamps gritted its teeth, jumping forwards.
"I'm not going to lose!" he shouted. He knew that Alex and the other humans would never understand him, but the other Pokemon in the Pokemon in the room heard. The only one that didn't look hopeful at Swamps' determination was Charr, the Charmeleon who was across the room.
"My master is also my friend. I can't let him down either." growled the lizard Pokemon.
"Master and friend?" asked Swamps, puzzled. "I thought that Deception caught all their Pokemon from other trainers?"
"Mostly they do. But look at the trainers in the room. Besides your master and his friends, do the Deception 'grunts' look like they are actual grunts? No. They, along with my master, were desperate for money. Really desperate. And desperate people take desperate measures to get that money. Every person has at least one Pokemon before they sign up. Most get to keep them. I was Max' first ever Pokemon."
"So all the people in this place are just normal people?" asked Swamps.
"Not all. One guy is an actual Deception member. He's called Starkin. Not a nice piece of work, I can tell you that now." said Charr, shuddering slightly.
"We'd better resume the fight. Alex hates fights getting stopped. He wants a victory badly."
---
Alex frowned. What was Swamps doing? He seemed to be having a conversation with the Charmeleon!
"Swamps!" shouted Alex. The little Mud Fish looked back, and nodded. Alex clapped his hands together once. Swamps closed his eyes, concentrating hard. Then, the little Mud Fish used a hugely powerful Tackle, which made the Charmeleon wince slightly in pain. It then retaliated with another really powerful Shadow Claw. By this stage in the battle, Alex could tell that both Pokemon were starting to weaken slightly. If it were on a games console of some sort, both Pokemon would by now have roughly half HP, maybe a little less.
Alex clapped his hands twice. Swamps nodded his head slightly. First he started to run. He sprayed the ground in front of him with water. Then he ground to a halt, at the exact point where the ground was now soaked with the water he'd sprayed. The force of this slapped mud into Charmeleon's face. He staggered back, giving Swamps the opportunity to use Tackle again, which he did.
However, Chameleon was quick this time, and slammed Swamps with Dragon rage, followed by another Shadow Claw. Swamps fell over.
"Swamps!" exclaimed Alex. Swamps couldn't faint. Not now! He prayed a silent prayer that his little Mudkip would get back up, and not have fainted.
Swamps got up, slowly, but surely. Alex remembered something, something that niggled away at his mind. As soon as Swamps had got up, Alex clapped three times. Swamps did the same as the Mud Slap-Tackle combo, except this time, once he'd used Tackle, he used Water Gun. Alex' prediction was right- Swamps' Water Gun was extremely powerful. This was due to Swamps' ability- Torrent. He'd remembered the time when Blaze's ability had done the same thing, bolstered the move that the Torchic had been using at the time.
Charr the Charmeleon fell on his knees. Alex could see that he was at the limits of his strength. Then the Lizard fell on his front.
"Charr! Get up, Charr!" shouted Max, looking quite distraught. But Charr had fainted. Alex had won.

With Tyson accepting the Oran Berries with a wide grin, he gave two to Blaze and one to Hydro. Both ate the berry happily, not complaining at all as the juices splashed into their mouths and down their throats. Blaze smiled widely and apparently, was feeling much better than before. Hydro simply scoffed at the defeat of the Charmeleon, wishing he could have been the one to defeat him. Tyson pumped his fist into the air, shouting in victory.

"Now, tell us where the Pokemon are," Tyson yelled out to Max, who was now pulling out a Poke Ball to return his Charmeleon, "ya Poke poachers!"

Posted by: Golden Lucario Feb 11 2010, 08:31 AM

"Psh! As if I'd tell you that!" exclaimed Max. "OK, us three are beaten. Let's go tell the boss." Max ran off, closely followed by the other two men. Alex and the others ran after them, but stopped at the end of the room. There were three ways to go. One, to the right, had a sign on it. It said "Main Generator." The one to the left said "Workers' Room." to the front, there was a sign saying "Pokemon Storage."

"Right," said Alex "we need to free those Pokemon. Castor, Ellis, Tikal, you can be our distraction crew. I want you to make as much noise as you can and battle as many people as you can. Get the eyes away from me and Tyson. Tyson, we're going to need all the stealth devices we've got. We've got to get to the generator room without being seen, and deactivate the power. That'll stop the electric cages from working. Oh, and there may be a pokemon powering this generator. You can't get electricity that easilly. After we've cut off the generator, Tyson and I will go to the Pokemon storage. Free them all. You others get out as soon as you can"

The two groups split off, the Ditraction crew heading down the left, and Alex and Tyson to the right. The generator had to go down, especially with Alex in charge of taking it down. He'd free those Pokemon, even if it took his life. He'd brought along Tyson because he knew that if it got dangerous, and there were too many explosions (oh, there WERE going to be explosions) he would not be able to stop himself. He might die. Tyson was sensible enough to get Alex out before the worst happened.

Alex breathed in deeply, then let out a huge breath. He was claming himself.
"Tyson, we're going to hit them where it hurts. We're going to hit the Eye of the Tiger."

Posted by: Protoman Feb 11 2010, 08:04 PM

Tyson nodded and began to stare at the large machine in front of them. A low whistle, followed by a scratch of his head, showed his surprise as to the size of the machine.

"Nice size," Tyson said, smiling widely, "but it has to come down either way." A small electrical current came from the side of the machine, catching Tyson's attention. He was about to walk over until Blaze began to pull at his pants leg.

Posted by: rt117 Feb 11 2010, 10:18 PM

"Alright. Wait, how are we supposed to-"
Tikal stopped as the two took off however, frowning and turning to Ellis and Castor. She called her Nidoran back before glancing around.

"Distraction...distraction..." she thought out loud, trying to think of a way to distract anyone that would come looking for them. She thought of implementing Charmander to set the place on fire, but the question of control came to mind, as it could prove to backfire as well.

Tikal continued to look around, Alex and Tyson now out of sight as she heard the clatter of footsteps from not too far away. She pulled out her Pokeballs and released Charmander and Totodile, all of her Pokemon now out and in front of her, with the exception of Igglybuff whom was on her head.

"Alright guys, Alex wants us to make a distraction to keep them busy. I want you all to do as much damage as you can, and make yourselves noticeable. If they attack, attack back. When the power goes out and the cages' electricity is off, make a break for it, understood?"

Totodile, Charmander, and Nidoran all nodded in unison before spreading out. Totodile began to douse machines with Water Gun, causing sparks to jump from the various electrical equipment. Charmander began to blow red-hot Embers at the frame of the door the Deception Grunts had ran through to slow them down if they tried to get back in. And Nidoran jumped up onto one of the desks with research notes, scattering them all over the floor and tearing at them.

Igglybuff sat unmoving from Tikal's head, not entirely sure what to do. She was plucked off her perch by Tikal, who told her: "You know, now would be a good time to practice your Rollout attack." she suggested before setting her down onto the ground. Igglybuff nodded before running towards a looming machine. She jumped forwards before rolling straight into it. The exterior case was dented, but sent Igglybuff rolling backwards and bouncing off various walls and machines.

Tikal watched her Pokemon work with a smile before turning to Castor and Ellis who were just standing there. "I could use a bit of help you know."

Posted by: Kranic Feb 13 2010, 12:47 PM

Annoying, annoying, annoying.
So much action and no ability to do anything. How did he, Castor, end up in such a situation? He, the most dynamic of the group, was forced to sit on the sideline while Alex, Tikal, and Tyson were free to have a wonderful battle against the Deception members. It wasn't fair, yet a mysterious force managed to keep him from doing anything that would be fitting for his personality. He hated the sight and forced himself to look away form the battle as it went on.
Time went on and eventually everything was done. His group managed to be victorious and now he was given another order, he was suppose to cause a distraction, again away from all the action. It really sucked. Why couldn't he go on and fight. Why were these people stopping him from doing what they wanted, but did exactly what they stopped him from doing. It was too aggravating and too much for the adolescence to handle. These thoughts flowed through Castor's head as he walked through the building alongside Tikal and Ellis. He managed to even stay quiet as the girl began her job. He growled when he realized what was going on.

"No need in being so annoying." Castor grunted as he looked over towards his three pokemon whom he released earlier. They were staying by his side waiting for a command.
"Alright, come back Azure, I don't think you will be much help here."
Castor said as he returned his Marill, his tone pretty bland.
"You two, just go crazy, don't worry about anything. Just bring this whole building down. In fact, go ahead and attack these two while you are at it, they are really annoying me."

He walked over from the two and continued in his little corner of rage.

The two pokmeon nodded at their owner command and began to use their brilliant powers to cause a bit of chaos.
Icuru, his charmander began by blowing it's biggest flame around the room, doing whatever it could to bring attention to itself and following his owner's command he even began to attack Tikal's pokemon.
Virva followed similar path, except of course with electricity. Charging and shooting rays of electricity everywhere, the Mareep too began to make a big commotion as well as begin to attack it's suppose teamates of Ellis, Tikal, and her pokemon.
Both pokemon show signs of guilt in their face, but continued their actions and in response, Castor simply watched, tired of being held down by the group and this island. It really wasn't fun.

Posted by: Golden Lucario Feb 17 2010, 05:29 AM

Alex also whistled at the size of the machine. Alex started to search around the machine. Suddenly, he froze as he saw what they were looking for.
"Tyson, I've found it!" he shouted, loudly and excitedly. Soon Tyson was by his side.
"Poor thing..." said Alex.
"How do we get it out?" asked Tyson.
There was a Luxray in the machine, its energy being zapped out of it. Luxray was the power of the whole place. Alex threw a Pokeball out instinctively, and he knew as soon as he'd thrown it that it was Blaze. Blaze, who already been imprisoned just like all the Pokemon Alex had seen. Blaze knew how to help this poor Luxray. Alex was certain of it. So the little Torchic came out, eyes burning as brightly as the fire that he could spout from within himself. He looked at the Luxray then at Alex, whose bright hair was wet with perspiration, his brow in deep concentration. Blaze nodded, looking into his owner and friend's eyes. He was ready. He looked at the other Blaze, Tyson's Cyndaquil.
"Are you with me on this?" he asked.
"Whenever did I say I wasn't?" replied Blaze, smiling.
---
Ellis was also smiling, smiling at Tikal's remark.
"Crusty, out you come! You too, King. And Gem, you may also have a shot." Ellis' other Pokemon, a Shellos, a Krabby and a Staryu.
"Crusty, I want you dirtying up this place. Mud everywhere, make sure that those Deception thugs can't get past without slipping up." The Shellos nodded, and started getting to work.
"King, mess about with the Electrics. I mean wires snapped, machines drenched in water, you know, carnage." The Krabby went to work, snapping wires wherever he went.
"Gem, you're staying with me. I want some nice spin action where I'm going."

Posted by: Protoman Feb 17 2010, 04:29 PM

Tyson soon felt a sudden chill run down his spine, making him feel slightly uneasy. He looked at Alex, knowing that Blaze was under his watchful eye. Understanding that, Tyson ran back to the room where Castor, Ellis, and Tikal were. After noticing that Castor's Pokemon were attacking Tikal's, Tyson darted over to Castor, but was hit by a Thundershock before he could reach. This, however, prevented Nidoran from being hit by the attack. Tyson soon recovered from the jolt of electricity, making him angrier than before. He walked over to Castor, hitting him in the back of his head.

"You idiot," Tyson yelled out of frustration, "why don't you attack the machines instead of the other Pokemon?!"

Posted by: rt117 Feb 17 2010, 04:38 PM

Tikal was watching her Pokemon as they caused some mayhem, before she was almost hit by a fiery blast. She jumped back in alarm to see Castor's Charmander being the cause. At the sign of this danger, her Nidoran (which had fortunately been protected by Tyson's interference) immediately raced to Tikal's side and glaring at the supposed ally with some anger.

"What was that for!" Nidoran snapped at Icuru, who had almost burned Tikal with his flame. "I thought you were helping us!"

Nidoran took a step forwards, but Tikal's voice made him stop.
"Now's not the time to be fighting each other. Nidoran just go back to doing what you were before, we can't waste any time." Tikal spoke sternly. Nidoran took one last glare at the Charmander before running back to the large machine he was putting holes into.

Tikal smiled at her Nidoran, before looking at Castor, who had just taken the blow to the back of his head. "If you want someone to fight, then feel free to go right through there," she said, pointing to the doorway the Grunts had gone through, "and fight them yourself if you aren't going to cooperate."

Posted by: Protoman Feb 17 2010, 04:51 PM

With his leg twitching slightly after every step, Tyson finally made it to Tikal and Nidoran.

"You okay?" Tyson asked, slightly twitching afterwards. He pulled out a small bottle, opening the top and drinking its contents, shivering after he did so. "Nasty...I hope I never have to drink this again...or at least get a better flavor..."

Posted by: rt117 Feb 17 2010, 05:01 PM

Tikal watched as he slowly made his way over, noticing the apparent paralysis. "I'm alright." she replied, quickly running over to him to remove the need of farther travel. She watched as he downed the contents of the medicine before smiling.

"Thanks for protecting Nidoran. A hit like that could have probably knocked him out." she added, glancing over at Nidoran who was happily back to work. However every now and then he paused to see whether or not Castor's two Pokemon were harassing his trainer. If they tried anything like that again then he would let them have it, even if his trainer disagreed.

"What about you and Alex though? Have you managed to find the power source yet?" Tikal added, eyes glancing over to the room he had came from moments ago.

"We've found the Power source," Tyson said, swallowing slightly to make the horrible flavor within his mouth go away, "and the weird thing is that a Luxray is keeping this place running." Tikal placed her hand on her chin in thought of what Tyson just said.

"Does he have everything under control," she began before looking back at the room, "or does he still need you in there?"

"Well," Tyson stated with a slight crackling in his voice, "I'm going to go back in there, but as for right now, he should be alright. Plus, I thought you'd need a little help out here." Tikal nodded and giggled a little bit.

"Thank you," Tikal said before grabbing Tyson by the hand, making his pulse increase slightly. "Thank you for saving Nidoran..." Tyson could hear his heart pounding in his ears...

Ba-bump

"Uh," Tyson said, his heart beginning to race, "Tikal?"

Ba-bump

"Yeah?" Tikal said before looking into Tyson's eyes.

"There's something," He began, feeling his heart pound into his ribcage, "I've been meaning to tell you..."

"Really now," Tikal said rather intrigued, "what's that?"

"Well," Tyson sighed, trying to breather and talk naturally, but couldn't prevail in doing so. "The thing is that...I...well...I kinda...sorta..."

"What," Tikal asked, not quite understanding where Tyson was coming from, "you kinda sorta what?"

"What I'm trying to say," Tyson breathed before finally gaining the confidence to say what he had to say, "is that I like you...a lot..." There was a short pause between the two of them, since Tikal turned a bright shade of pink and turned away slightly. She smiled and giggled at Tyson.

"Guess what," She responded, placing her hands on his shoulders.

"What," Tyson replied to her statement before being kissed on the cheek.

"I really like you too," Tikal said, causing Nidoran to smile a little bit. After being kissed on his cheek, Tyson began to turn red from his neck, to his ears, finally stopping at his face. Tikal giggled some more, continuing to blush at Tyson.

"Well," Tyson choked as he tried to say something to Tikal, "I...um...I...uh..."

"What's wrong," Tikal asked, thinking that Tyson was scared somehow.

"N-nothing," Tyson stuttered, "nothing at all."

"You know," Tikal said rather soothingly, "you don't need to be afraid of me." She smiled and made Tyson relax simply by staring into his eyes.

"Yeah," Tyson responded plainly, "yeah I know that."

"Okay," Tikal said finally relaxing as well, "I was afraid I had did it wrong."

"I heard," Tyson said, now having some form of confidence, "that it was a little different."

"Well," Tikal shrugged after hearing about this, "we'll have lots of time to try again."

"Like now," Tyson asked rather nervously.

"Maybe later," Tikal responded shyly, "when we're in a little less danger."

"Yeah," Tyson responded simply, "you're right about that." Without another word, Tyson ran back to where the generator was located. The thoughts swirled within his head, now that he and Tikal knew about their feelings for each other. With his face still extremely red, he tried not to be seen by Alex, only to avoid questioning.

The two Blazes set straight to work on the machine. Combining their Ember attacks, they tried their hardest to burn down the metal bars on the cage that kept the Luxray imprisoned. There wasn't just a Cage of metal bars. Within the cage, there was a further glass box cage. Within that, there was a wooden Cage made from incombustible wood. Within that, there was a ring of fire. It was only then that the Luxray was there, being zapped of its energy.

The metal bars, amazingly, melted really easily. Maybe it was the combined, strong effort of Blaze and Blaze, but it was soon a liquid. Alex breathed deeply once. He looked at the rest of the caging, then threw out the rest of his Pokemon. Out came Stryk, Swamps, Treecky and Leo (the Shinx Alex had recently caught) from their Pokeballs. Alex looked at the glass.
"Blaze, burn that glass a little. Then I want you, Stryk, to shatter it with Peck."
Alex looked round for Tyson. When he didn't see him, he panicked for a second, before realizing that Tyson would probably be back soon.
Alex looked back at his task. Blaze had weakened the glass, and now, Stryk was zooming at it. He struck the glass, and there was a reasonably sized hole in it. It was weak enough for Alex to kick it down, so his did just this.
Two down, two to go. he thought.

He turned back at the layered cage.
"Teecky, can you chop that open?" asked Alex. He didn't expect Treecky to fully obey him, but he reasoned that it must have been the sight of the poor Luxray that made him realize that this was a serious situation. The Gecko Pokemon launched himself powerfully at the wood cage, chopping through it very effectively. It fell to the floor with a loud CLUNK and Alex punched the air. They were almost there.
He looked to Swamps, who was looking back intently.
"Well Swamps. There's some fire there. You're a water type. Go on, do your thing."
Swamps set to work, using a powerful water gun. The fire wasn't that strong, but Swamps still found it difficult. Alex could see he was struggling, so nodded to Stryk, saying
"OK, girl, help him." Stryk started using Wing attack, whipping her wings against the fire, which along with the Water Gun made the fire die down considerably. Swamps used water gun on what was feeding the fire; wood. The soaked wood could no longer burn.

Alex returned all his Pokemon, telling them all that he was really proud. He kept out Leo and Tyson's Cyndaquil, and gestured for them to follow him as he passed the destroyed barriers. He stepped cautiously towards the Luxray, who was still being zapped of its energy. Alex spoke softly.
"Luxray, follow me... I'm helping you, OK? Leo, Bite those that wire. Blaze, could you use Ember on the other? Thanks, guys. Ok, Mr. Luxray, I'm on you side, calm down, I'm going to help you."
"Oh no, you won't!" shouted a voice from the other side of the room. Alex turned round slowly. There stood a man at the end. This man was in a white lab coat, wearing safety goggles. He took both of these items off. He was a middle aged man, blond, witn green eyes. He had a very severe expression on his face. He wore a suit, black trousers, black shoes, a black jacket, and underneath wore a white shirt with a tie. Alex gasped very quietly to himself as he saw the "D" in bright green on both the jacket and the tie. Team Deception.
"What do you want, Decpetion?!" he asked, shouting.
"You know who I am? My oh my, I knew you were good when you got in to the building with such eaze. And such a good idea? A Ditraction. A Deception."
"I'm nothing like you, scum."
"I am no scum. I am Starkin of team Deception. And you shall pay for your insolence!" yelled the Deception admin angrily. He threw a Pokeball, and out came a Gyrados, roaring. Alex gulped as he saw the red colour of this Gyrados. It was Shiny. Alex suddenly realized. Ellis' Golde had evolved.

There came a cry from behind him. He turned round quickly, seeing that the Luxray was free. It charged at the Gyrados, and struck it powerfully with Spark. It then roared, using a discharge that was very powerful. Alex quickly returned Leo to his Pokeball, and scooped up Blaze the Cyndaquil, protecting him within Alex' bag. Alex closed his eyes as the attack hit. He endured it, but it wasn't pleasant. He opened his eyes, seeing the fainted Gyrados on the floor. Then he looked at Starkin, who was trembling slightly, from the attack. Alex ran at him, snatching the Pokeball that was in his hand. He returned the fainted Gyrados, and ran from the room.

Just as he was about to do so, he saw a flustered Tyson. He looked at him, puzzled, but handed him Blaze.
"Tyson, we have to leave. NOW."

Posted by: Protoman Feb 19 2010, 11:22 AM

"O-okay!" Tyson stammered, still slightly startled by the kiss he had received from Tikal. He pulled out a Poke Ball, making Blaze return, and placed the sphere into his pocket. Tyson looked at the Shinx bouncing around happily and the weakened Luxray standing before them. He then noticed the Deception admin running to some kind of switch.

"If I lose," Starkin whined, "then you lose too!" With a swift motion, he pressed a small red button, causing another alarm to go off. This one containing the following words: "SELF-DESTRUCT SEQUENCE HAS BEEN ACTIVATED! T-5 MINUTES AND COUNTING!" "Oh curse these long countdowns..." Starkin complained to himself, finally leaving out a back door.

"Alex," Tyson called out over the sirens, his face now back to normal, "there are other Pokemon in the room that Tikal and Castor are in! They need to be saved before this place blows!"

Posted by: rt117 Feb 19 2010, 04:19 PM

Tikal jumped slightly at the blare of the alarms and quickly began to dig into her pockets. "Everybody back now!" she called, returning her Pokemon to their Pokeballs before looking at the doorway the two had been in with slight worry. "Well...I guess this mean's the power for the cages are gone..." she mumbled, worry clouding her mind.

Remembering their original job, Tikal called her Nidoran back out, who was just as jumpy when it came to such loud noises. Pointing to a cage she said: "Try and break the bars with Double Kick, I'll try to free the others."

As her Pokemon went to work, she remembered she wasn't alone, as Castor and Ellis were still in the room. "You guys need to get out while you still can." she told them both, a serious expression on her face. "This place will blow in at least five minutes, and I think I can handle this alone. See if you can find the boats and wait there."

Posted by: Golden Lucario Feb 20 2010, 06:06 AM

Alex ran. He didn't run to where Tikal and Ellis were, he ran towards the "Storage" room. Tyson was puzzled by this decision, and slightly angry.
"What about the other Pokemon?" he exclaimed.
"Tyson, there are more here than down that corridor. Besides, if I know Tikal even a little, she'll be rescuing the ones down that corridor. Look in your heart. You know her better than I do. Speaking of which, you asked her out, didn't you? Don't try to lie, I read emotions well. That flustered look is a mixture of being flustered and what I assume I'd be like with contact with girls. Anyway, let's forget that stuff. We need to go in here." he said, opening the door.

Inside, there were cages. The whole room was just cages, all packed with Pokemon. There was a small amount of floor where Alex and Tyson could walk, but it was really cramped. Alex looked around, and saw a key, hanging from a small wardrobe type of thing. Alex picked it up. Then he tried the key on one of the cage doors. As he found that it didn't work, he shouted briefly in anger. He kicked a cage door so hard that it swung open.
These cages are really rusty, and weak too, he realized. He sent out his Pokemon again, and when they saw the cages, they needed no explanation; they attacked the cages quickly, letting lots of Pokemon out. Alex ran to the back of the room to investigate something he'd seen there; a door. What was a door doing here?

He turned round, seeing his Pokemon and Tyson's working on the cage doors. He smiled, realizing that once again he'd grown up considerably from the small, nervous but excited boy who'd first set out. He'd dealt with loss, battled many Pokemon and made some brilliant friends, both Pokemon and people. He'd fought hard for justice in some cases, like now.
Alex returned from his thoughts to the real world, and opened the door. He was temporarily blinded as the sunlight came shining through, making him stagger backwards a little. His eyes quickly adjusted though, and he turned towards the freed Pokemon, ushering them out. His Pokemon and him kept opening cages, and the free Pokemon, most lowest-level Pokemon, all ran out, free. The fish Pokemon somehow managed to get out and into the sea that was near the building.

Finally, the last cage was opened. Alex called back all of his Pokemon once this had happened, as did Tyson. Alex and Tyson were about to step out when a huge explosion was heard. At this they started running for the door. Another explosion sounded, this one was much closer. They ran even faster. Alex was behind a little, Tyson, outside the building a little. So he didn't get hit by the huge blast in the room behind them that knocked Alex out.
---
At roughly the same time that Alex opened the Storage room's door, Tikal had just told Ellis and Castor to get out. Castor did so, quite quickly. Ellis, however, stayed behind.
"Tikal, I'm not leaving, not knowing that Golde might still be captured. Besides, with two of us, we'll work faster!"

Tikal and Ellis set to work freeing the Pokemon. They worked hard, but there were so many!
"Tikal, we'll never be able to do it..." said Ellis. Just as he did, he heard a huge explosion behind him
"****! What was that?" he exclaimed, turning round, he looked at the ceiling, and his eyes widened massively as he saw that it was about to fall down.
"Tikal, we gotta get out. NOW. Come on!"
"No, I've got to help the Pokemon!"
"Tikal, look at me. I was watching you and Tyson, I couldn't help but see it. You wanna see Tyson again, right? Well you've got to come with me now. The ceiling is about to drop. Call in your Pokemon, let's go."
Tikal said nothing, but called back her Pokemon. Then she and Ellis ran, just as another explosion sounded. They were out of the building on the third explosion. Then, as they were looking back at the building, they saw the explosion that knocked out Alex. They looked at each other, both thinking one thing.
PHEW!

Posted by: Protoman Feb 22 2010, 05:08 PM

Stopping dead in his tracks and noticing the fallen Alex, Tyson flew into a swift panic.

"ALEX!!!" Tyson bellowed in shock, not knowing how much damage had been done to Alex. Rushing back to his fallen comrade, Tyson gripped the collar of Alex's shirt firmly, shaking him. "Come on, Alex, snap out of it! We've gotta keep moving!" Another large explosion rang within the ears of Tyson, making him worry more and more each time. What if something happened to Tikal, Tyson thought to himself, what about Ellis, Castor, their Pokemon? Were they alright? Were they safely out of the building? Tyson, without another word or thought, simply picked up Alex and put his arm over his shoulders, carrying the young trainer away from the burning building.

Posted by: rt117 Feb 22 2010, 05:31 PM

Tikal's legs were trembling slightly, unable to hold herself up after almost getting caught in the explosion. She sunk back onto the ground, letting out a quiet sigh of relief as she watched the fierce fire burn away at what was once a standing building.

"Thanks." she managed to say to Ellis as her breathing became normal once more, giving him a smile before closing her eyes and trying to calm her thoughts.

The Pokemon which had once been held captive were now free, some diving into the water to escape the fiery embers, while others running right by them.
"I wonder if we saved them all..." she thought, opening her eyes and glancing once more to the fire in front of her. A sudden sad expression appeared on her face as she continued to think. "What if some were still caught inside and couldn't escape?"

Tikal pushed herself off the ground, moving a bit closer towards the burning inferno and looking for signs of movement. "I hope they got out..."

Turning to Ellis and Castor, she spoke, eyes reflecting her worry. "Did either of you see Tyson or Alex get out safely?"

Posted by: Alex Slasher Feb 27 2010, 04:53 AM

When Alex opened his eyes, he was moving. He looked down forward, and saw the ground. He was puzzled. What had happened? Had he died and gone to a world where everything was weird?
Alex then looked to the left, and a little to the back. That's when he saw Tyson, carrying him, and he relaxed a little.
"You know, Tyson, you don't need to carry me any more." he said.
Tyson let go of him in shock, and Alex fell to the ground, hitting himself, unfortunately on a rock nearby. As Tyson went to help him up, Alex shook his head.
"No, don't worry, I'm fine." soon he was standing up.
"So, what now?" asked Alex' companion.
"Well, I assume you were looking for the others. So we do that."
---
"Erm, Tikal, I think you're a bit confused there. Castor isn't with us, he escaped earlier, and ran off."
"Oh." she replied.
"And in answer to your question, I don't know. We only know that you and I are safe. I suppose that's what matters right now."
"But what about Tyson?" she asked.
"Tikal, I'm sorry, OK? I miss them too, especially Castor. If they survived, they're clever enough to find us, you'll see."
"Castor?" Tikal asked.
"Erm well, yeah. About that. I should probably tell you this. I'm gay. And I fancy Castor."

Posted by: Protoman Feb 27 2010, 05:56 PM

"Right," Tyson said, punching his fist into his palm. Soon, however, Tyson began to feel pain surge into his hand, causing him to tear up a little. "Ow," Tyson whined before taking off in search of Tikal, with Alex close behind him. Right in mid stride, a sudden pain within his cranium caused him to drop to the earth beneath him. "Oh no," Tyson grunted in sheer agony, "not again!!!!!" With a painful howl, Tyson somehow sounded louder then than he did last time.

Posted by: Alex Slasher Feb 28 2010, 09:42 AM

Alex could only watch as Tyson fell to his knees, roaring in pain. The pain in that animalistic howl made Alex freeze mid-step. Then he ran over to Tyson, trying to get some sense out of his companion. What was going on?
"Tyson, Tyson, come on, snap out of it!" he cried, worried. What would he do if Tyson died? He didn't know.
Tyson just kept roaring in pain. Alex was really worried. The worst thing to him was being unable to do anything. Not for the first time, Alex found himself wishing he had a Psychic Pokemon close to hand. He sat there and sighed.

Suddenly, an Abra appeared next to him. Alex jumped back, startled. Then he realized that Abras could read minds.
"Do you know what's up, buddy?" he asked. The Abra put its hands on Tysons head. Almost immediately Tyson fell into a half sleep. Alex waited for a few tense moments before Abra took its hands off Tyson. It then placed them on Alex' head. Alex heard these words.
"He has a disease of the mind... I have calmed him for now." Then the Abra suddenly disappeared.
Tyson woke up, groaned slightly.
"Let's go, Tyson." said Alex. They got up, and started walking.
---
Ellis was watching the space around them. It was a little boring, but it had to be done. He kept looking, but it was taking a while. After a while, he got bored and sat down. He started playing on his DS, which he carried around with him. He loved playing Animal Crossing, it was such a fun game. Suddenly, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked up, and saw Alex and Tyson.
"Hi there, Ellis."

Posted by: rt117 Feb 28 2010, 10:24 AM

"Oh, I see." Tikal replied as Ellis told her about his feelings for Castor, yet it took a few moments for her to register what he meant. Before she could speak however, a sharp howl caused her to jump, recognizing the sound of the pained cry.

"Tyson..." she frowned, suddenly running off to where she thought she had heard the voice. She was relieved that he had escaped, but he sounded like he was in trouble. She kept running and running until her legs became tired, however there was no signs of him.

With a sad and disheartened sigh, Tikal turned and began to walk back to Ellis, when the two figures caught her eyes, one of which being Tyson. Despite her earlier tiredness before, her legs found new strength as she began to run as fast as she could towards him, shouting.
"Tyson!"

"T-Tikal," Tyson said before finally coming to his senses and staggering towards her. Almost collapsing onto the ground, Tyson reaches her finally, giving her a hug. Tikal, ecstatic to see Tyson alive, hugged him back, squeezing rather tightly. She still tried to be careful, noticing at him stumbling prior their hug.

"Tyson," Tikal said, worry within her voice, "are you alright? Did you make it out safe?"

"We're alright," Tyson said easily, "I'm just glad to see that you're okay." With a nod, Tikal starts to ease up on her grip around Tyson.

"Are you gonna be okay," Tikal asked, still worrying much, "I noticed that you were having some trouble walking."

"I'm alright," he told her plainly, "it's just my head. I'm gonna be a-okay, alright?"

"Have you been taking your medicine," Tikal asked, causing Tyson to be taken slightly off guard.

"My medicine," Tyson asked, not knowing how it was possible that she knew about it, "how did you know about that?"

"Well," Tikal said, "I remembered that before we reached the town, you had one of those major headaches. Right before we had left the campsite, I saw you ingest something. I put two and two together and well, there you go."

"Go figure," Tyson said, smiling widely at her intelligence, "now I know for a fact I'm not the best at keeping secrets." With this, he laughed lowly and to himself.

"Tyson," Tikal said, catching his undivided attention, "why would you need to keep it a secret?"

"The only reason," he began, "is because these headaches of mine aren't normal...I think they're some sort of Psychic powers kicking in...I'm not entirely sure."

"Oh," Tikal said, now feeling a little bit relieved as to the cause of Tyson's head pains. "Well, I'm glad that you felt comfortable enough to tell me about it..." She paused briefly and looked around at their surroundings. She then looked back at Tyson, her eyes filled with passion. "Anyways," she continued, "I think we should get back to the others."

"Yeah," Tyson said, lost within the eyes of Tikal, "I guess so." With a nod, Tikal and Tyson both began to walk, slowly but surely, back to the group.

"So," Tikal began, trying to figure out what happened before they got separated, "did you find Ellis' Magikarp?"

"Well," Tyson said, scratching the back of his head, "yes and no."

"Huh," Tikal asked, failing to understand the situation, "what do you mean?"

"Well," Tyson said, thinking back to the Red Gyarados that the Luxray had to battle and knock out. "Long story short...it evolved..."

"Oh wow," Tikal said, interested in hearing about the evolution of a Magikarp, "I wonder if Ellis is going to be happy or not..."

"Probably not," Tyson said, catching the attention of Tikal.

"Why's that," Tikal asked, intrigued by Tyson's answer.

"Mainly," Tyson responded, "because of the fact that he'll have to change the name from 'Golde' to 'Red'." Tikal laughed at Tyson, causing him to feel all warm inside.

"I guess," Tikal began, "we'll just have to see then." She smiled at Tyson, who, in turn, smiled back.

"Yeah," Tyson responded, kissing Tikal on the cheek, causing her to blush, "I guess so." Tikal giggled a little bit as they finally reached the others. With help from Tikal, Tyson was able to sit down onto a lone tree stump. With a smile, he looked at Alex. "So, that's one group of Deception jerks, right?"

Posted by: Alex Slasher Mar 2 2010, 08:20 AM

Alex was pleased to see Tikal and Ellis safe. However, he didn't know anything about Castor. But he realized that Castor could probably look after himself, so he relaxed a little. Besdies, he didn't like Castor anyway. Fopr now, he pushed any thoughts of Castor to the back of his mind. There was no need to worry.
"Ah... it's good to be able to relax a bit." he said, Leaning back against a tree as the sun beat down upon him.
"But what about Castor?" asked Ellis. He, obviously, was worried about him.
"Dude, chill out a bit! I've got a nice chance to put up my feet here, and I will do that very thing!"
"I can't believe you, Alex! You're forgetting Castor!"
"We'll look for your gay crush later, dude! Now, I'm chillaxin'!"
"And why are you speaking like a nincompoop as well?"
"Tell you what, here, take this. It was the whole point of this little venture." Alex handed Ellis the Pokeball that contained Golde.
"Golde?" enquired Ellis.
"Uh-huh. Hey, you two," he shouted, calling Tikal and Tyson "come here!"
The two came towards Alex and Ellis. Ellis threw the Pokeball. There was a gasp from him as he saw what Golde had become.
"It's... It's a Gyardos!" he exclaimed.
"Oh, s**t Sherlock!" Alex replied sarcastically.
"There's no need to swear! I have a Gyarados! A shiny one too!"
"Yeah. Anyway, let's get back to the mainland. I'm tired."
---
Later that day, Alex was sitting on a bench, in Port Barley. He'd since said goodbye to Ellis, and he and Tikal and Tyson had booked the ferry to Fidona. Alex took a long, happy sigh, and closed his eyes briefly. Soon, soon he hoped, he'd have his first badge.

Alex was on his way to Fidona.

Tyson sighed deeply, finally glad that he had made it. So, he thought to himself smiling, this was my first adventure? I wound up getting a girlfriend, new friends, and most importantly, new Poke...wait...I didn't catch a blasted thing! Tyson face-palmed, sliding his silky hand down his own face in disappointment. "Well," he said, trying to look on the bright side, "at least I'll be able to catch something next go around."

Ba-bump.

What was that, Tyson asked himself in suspicion. He shrugged it off at that moment, not fully knowing what was going on. Maybe it was just a delayed reaction to the headache, he concluded, or the explosion...

Ba-bump.

There it is again, Tyson continued to think about where this noise was coming from. The most recent one was closer than the first. He began to panic as if someone was coming to get him.

BA-BUMP.

Oh crap, Tyson screamed in his head, not again!

In a brief moment, Tyson's eyes snapped open, noticing himself within a gym, staring at the Gym Leader. Without any sounds being made around him, Tyson felt almost at peace. Almost. The only downside was that he didn't know what was going on. Why was there no sound? Who was this Gym Leader? Most importantly, was he winning? The Gym Leader walked towards him, handing him a badge. Out of impulse, Tyson simply grabbed it and stared, still not fully understanding everything.

Darkness then soon surrounded him, causing another image to be seen. An image of a mystic ruin right before the trio. Tyson, Tikal, and Alex all looked at the ruins and began to walk forward...without another warning, Tyson had snapped back to reality, finally coming to a conclusion.

"I need to find more Pokemon," Tyson exclaimed, placing a grin as big as Furoh on his face. His next Pokemon journey was about to begin.

Tikal sat on top a ledge heading out to the beach, the group having just said their farewells to Ellis and his Red Gyarados. She watched the sun began to set beautifully against the water, leaving a warm orange haze that filled the sky and reflected down onto the waters, giving a similar calming effect.

Tikal swung her feet side to side over the edge, looking over to her side to see Tyson begin to daydream once again. Waving her hand in front of his face, she giggled to herself as he seemed lost in his own little world. She gave him a quick hug, though she knew he wouldn't realize what she did, then set Igglybuff down next to his head and moved onto the beach to get a better look at the boats out in the distance.

As she stood on the beach and looked out into the waters, she began to think to herself. Traveling with a group of friends still felt odd to her, but the new feeling of acceptance in the world was one she loved dearly. It would be something she would have to get used to, though she felt ready for anything at this point...

Especially a new adventure on a new island.
