My friend was trying to log in to his GPX account, but it kept telling him that his user name didn't exist and was invalid. I went in to Register New Account, and it said the SAME USER NAME was already taken. Obviously, something is wrong when the site says it exists and doesn't exist at the same time, and he would really like to be able to access his account.

And he wasn't banned or anything, before you suggest that. He hasn't been on in a while, and i just showed him his account again.

And I'm 90% positive it isn't BECAUSE that he hasn't been on. My account was siting here inactive for close to a year, and I logged in with no problems.



And yes, there was someone else with a topic about this, but someone has all the forums in that area under read only for some genius reason, which makes it hard to help people.

I know this is going sound dumb, but is he typing his password correctly? Has he tried password recovery?

I don't really see anything wrong with his account, unless I'm looking at the wrong account.

I don't have a space in my name so I can't verify if that might be causing problems or not, although it shouldn't be.

Edit: Oh, I didn't think that was it since I didn't see any name changes on that account I found.

He tried it a dozen times, and even had me spell it out and type it in. And the problem is that when we do the password recovery, it says his login name doesn't exist.

And he made it simple, that his login name and display name were the same.

I still think he mistyped his username though
Try copy and paste his username instead of typing it.

If you check the account in question, they've never changed their display name thus meaning the display name and login name are the same (which is actually stated by the OP 2 posts above yours). Unless a change simply isn't showing, it shouldn't say the name doesn't exist provided that it's being typed correctly.

I wouldn't have reposted that if I hadn't checked. There is a different name for "Login name" for the account Berserker VII. At the very least for GPX+
