(I'm rather hoping that this is a bug or something happening to other people, but I'm not sure...felt this was the best place to find out.)

So, somehow in my idiocy or a glitch or whatnot, my Ditto is no longer in my possession.

Since I got it from the Lab (therefore getting both the egg and pokedex information), and from what I've read you can't get Ditto more than once from the Lab...I'm guessing I'm SOL? (let's just call it Sorely out of Luck)

The only thing I can figure is that Ditto was somehow transferred into a box with my extra Rattatas (or, more likely it was in that box and they looked close enough to the same color that I didn't notice) and was released that way. (Or someone else found a way to release it. But I sort of doubt this.)

So, is Ditto like the legendaries, etc in the fact that once you have it a set amount of times, you can't get it again?

Many lab stalker experts have confirmed this is most likely true (in that ditto is subject to a limit of sorts).

The limit seems to be if you have the egg dex. You won't be able to see another ditto egg.

Whether releasing has an effect on this or not..I have no idea.

If you are truly SOL, as you say..there is a solution..but it may be hard to achieve.

That is a voucher. There are pokemon vouchers in which you can get a ditto. I think some were given out in the egg colouring contest. I believe the voucher was for any pokemon 'cept legendaries.

However, I wasn't here during the voucher contest giveaway. So I could be wrong for the information I got was from Bulbapedia or something a week ago. So this is all partially form my own memory.

Nope, it was quite helpful, I'll have to see about that and see what I can learn and do.

Actually vouchers can summon anything except Arceus.
Yeah, that may be the only solution, or if you find one in the Shelter, if youre lucky.

There is most likely a limit of 1 ditto per user, but wherever or not you can get a new one if you drop it is totally unknown to me. The limits of 2 of each novelty is removed if you release them, but ditto might be treated different.

This, pretty much. I saw earlier that the OP asked about the legendaries "in the fact that once you have it a set amount of times, you can't get it again?" - but I've always been under the impression that the other novs/legendaries were based on how many you CURRENTLY owned, not how many you've obtained? So if you released one, you could get another. But since there was never any real confirmation with ditto, I'm guessing most people didn't want to risk it & find out if ditto worked the same way or not xD

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I guess the best option will be to try to get a voucher and see if I can obtain one again.

With the legendaries, I was pretty sure it had something to do with how many you've gotten currently (like if I had an Arceus *I wish!* and its limit was 2 and I let one into the Safari Zone, my limit would go back down to one, therefore allowing me to see it in the Shelter/Safari Zone again*)

I think that's the way it works, considering I've gotten 2 Bulbasaur Clones in the past and I can't see them anymore in the Shelter/Zone.

Well, thanks for the advice everyone; I'll just keep my eyes peeled and see if I can obtain it again in the future!

The claim is that there isn't a limit, but many of us can't get over how strange it is that dedicated lab lurkers who've already gotten one haven't seen a single one since the rarity change. With a speculated seven supposedly spawning each day, it's highly unlikely that people with the data have not even refreshed over one after all of these months. That's really the reason the theory is still floating around, confirmation or no.

Would help if admins or mods would at least tell people if a limit on Ditto exists but they never seem to post in this sort of topic. Also if there is a limit of just one on Ditto why is there? Every other pokemon yes even legendarys you can shiny hunt yet Ditto you can't.
