Look at this: This egg went to the Underground and brought something back with it!

I noticed that the egg says it was exchanged. When pokemon are exchanged, they are turned back into eggs when given to the new owner. The pokemon must have went underground before it was exchanged, therefore it looks like the egg had gone.

It was most likely a hatched Pokémon that was sent to the Mystery Box, hence returned to an egg. And never re-hatched. ^-^

Ok. That makes sense. I just now checked the time line and it said "Exchanged." You may close this now, mods.
