Say your waiting to get this one egg, is there anyway to try and make sure you get it besides just waiting around the shelter hoping for it to pass by?

I don't think so. Mind you the same could be said for when a Pokemon genders wrongly, for example I wanted a female Ralts so I could get Gardevoir but mine is male. x.x
