My Pokemon Dream Job topic got a lot more posts after I put a job list, and I noticed a lot of you talked about Gym Leaders and Elite Four, and a couple said Champion. So...
I wanted to know more details about if you wanted to be a Gym Leader, Elite Four, or Champion! As you know, most Gym Leaders/Elite Four/Champions have to make either a type specific team or a mixed team. Since some of you guys wanted to do that, just say here! Just put what region you would be in (Real or made-up), the Gym number if you wanted to be a Gym Leader, and put type of team! If you want to earn extra points, get creative, or specify the Pokemon on your team. That's right, you get points! -------------------- "The Chosen One's Team" (If you see anyone using this team, please tell them it's my team):

I've long toyed with the thought of being a Gym Leader, even though it wasn't the job I chose in the other thread. If I was one, I'd probably be either a Ghost Gym Leader or Normal Gym Leader.
If Ghost, I'd use Yamask, Cofagrigus, and Dusclops. If Normal, I'd have Lickilicky, Snorlax, and Clefable. I think I'd be the third or fourth gym leader in a region. I've got a pretty clear weakness to Dark moves in my former team, but they have higher defenses and most Dark moves are physical. Compound that with Will-O-Wisp + Hex which lowers your attack and allows me to hit you harder. In my second team, my weakness is Fighting, but (as of G5) I teach Clefable predominantly Psychic moves, and I give Lickilicky the Rugged Helmet and breed Body Slam and Ice Beam onto it. Their Abilities are Magic Guard, Own Tempo, and Immunity, respectively. The badge from my Ghost team would be the Wary Badge, while the badge from my Normal team would be called the Lotus Badge. (Which would fit a little better if I taught Yawn to my Snorlax, something I only do occasionally.) I'm by no means a stellar trainer, but I think I'm pretty good, which is why I'd be third or fourth, though most likely third. If I could be a mix-type Gym, I'd simply swap out Clefable with Coffy and add Blue Gastrodon for good measure. -------------------- |

That sounds like you have great ideas for a Gym, Blak99Psy! And trust me - I wouldn't be surprised if I was the person that most recently learned about EVs and stuff, as I only learned about them last December or something. But, I still have team ideas! The point of this is that you don't need to be a stellar trainer to be a GOOD trainer. Just look at me!

I would probably be a Dark-Type Gym Leader. (One hasn't been done yet.) Plus Dark-Types are my favorites and I would use Pokemon from Unova. Maybe I would be the 7th or 8th one. And these would be my Pokemon:
Mandibuzz (My toughest Pokemon), Bisharp, Zoroark, Scrafty, Krookodile, and Liepard. Plus I already have the Pokemon to make this team. -------------------- |

I would be a Gym Leader, with a team of Water, Ice and Dark.
with Waterfall/Whirlpool, Ice Fang, Crunch, and Cut. with Steel Claw, Surf, Stomp and Protect. with Haze, Astonish, Pursuit, and Aerial Ace. with Ice Punch, Perish Song, Aurora Beam, and Icey Gale. with Astonish, Bark Out, Pursuit, and Omnious Wind. -------------------- "The world spins on pain. I realised that if there is a supreme power, then it is our duty to become it's moral superior." -Lord Havelock Vetinari, Patrician of Ankh-Morpork "The sentient may perceive and love the universe, but the universe may not perceive and love the sentient. The universe sees no distinction between the multitude of creatures and elements which comprise it. All are equal. None is favored. The universe, equipped with nothing but the materials and the power of creation, continues to create: something of this, something of that. It cannot control what it creates and it cannot, it seems, be controlled by its creations (though a few might deceive themselves otherwise). Those who curse the workings of the universe curse that which is deaf. Those who strike out at those workings fight that which is inviolate. Those who shake their fists, shake their fists at blind stars."- Michael Moorcock, author. |

I'd probably be a Poison-or Normal-type leader.
If I was a Poison master I'd have this as my team: Crobat with Cross-Poison, Toxic, U-Turn (Champion) and Aerial Ace/Brave Bird (Champion) Scolipede with Poison Jab, X-Scissor, Swords Dance (Champion) and Steamroller Roserade (Elite Four) with Venoshock, Toxic, Synthesis (Champion) and Pedal Dance Nidoking (Elite Four) with Megahorn, Earthquake, Dragon Tail (Champion) and Thunder Toxicroak (Champion) with Earthquake, Break Break, Stone Edge, and Poison Jab Muk (+2 levels from rest of team) with Gunk Shot, Return (Max Power), Rock Slide, Break Break (Champion) I'd also give out TM06 (Toxic) as a leader as well as the Rot Badge (resembles a rotting pile of leaves, mostly brown and purple). If I was a Normal master I'd have these guys: Sawsbuck with Double-Edge, Wild Charge, Grass Knot (Champion) and Giga Impact Stoutland with Ice Fang, Fire Fang, Giga Impact, and Crunch (Champion) Lopunny with Jump Kick, Return, Entrainment (Klutz), and Healing Wish (Champion) Smeargle (Elite Four) with Hydro Pump, Shadow Force, Blue Flare, and Draco Meteor (Champion) Togekiss (Champion) with Psychic, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, and Hyper Beam Cinccino with Giga Impact, Bullet Seed, Rock Blast, and Work Up (Champion) As a gym leader I'd give out TM68 (Giga Impact) as well as TM15 (Hyper Beam), be a double battle, and give the Diversity Badge (Three spheres in a triangle colored three shades of gray). Anyway, yeah, my teams might be a bit much to handle in early gyms, so probably mid-late game as a leader, anywhere as a champion/elite four. As a poison master, my pre-Elite Four/Champion anti-weakness type coverage is pretty weak. I have one bug move on the team, and it's on a fragile bug-type. As a member of the elite four however, the team becomes difficult but manageable, once you throw champion in however, the team is definitely at champion levels. Poison has a lot of resistances, and since I diversify the team it becomes hard to just spam psychic attacks, especially since most players use mixed teams. As the normal master, my pre-Elite Four/Champion type coverage is laughable. Although team boasts some powerful attacks, it is pathetically weak to fighting and can easily be dominated by it. Also, a Ghost type would have little trouble crushing a leader who has nothing to deal with them. That changes as an Elite Four member with Smeargle joining who can simply blast most Ghosts into the ground. As Champion, the team becomes downright frightful for Ghost types and Fighters with very nasty moves across the board. Smeargle is probably the toughest member of the team since he boasts incredible attacks to make up for his poor stats. If you make it past a team like that, you're either very lucky or have more diversity than me in team comp. This post has been edited by Rundas: Apr 6 2011, 04:31 PM -------------------- |

Only problem is that now I want to raise those 'mons for competitive battles. I think there should be a few trainers out there who try to master a type. It sounds like a fun challenge. And to be honest, normal is a seriously overpowered type.

Hmm, master one type... I've sorta mastered Grass-Type, only sorta. And yeah, Normal is a somewhat overpowered type. (Giga Impact for physical sweepers, and Hyper Beam for special sweepers!)

Oh, I forgot to add- I would have the Frostbite Badge, and give out the TM Ice Punch...
Or something else Ice related. :P -------------------- "The world spins on pain. I would totally be a gym leader! I would most likely be in a totally NEW region, and I would most likely be the 8th gym leader.
Region: Octinu (Pronounced: Oc-tin-you) City Name: Systoronia City (Pronounced: Sis-toe-ron-ia Pokémon Type: Ghost Badge: Mystery Badge (TM: Shadow Ball.) Pokémon: [F] Litwick - jolly [F] Frillish - calm [F] Drifloon - naive [F] Misdreavus - sassy [F] Snorunt - (havent decided on nature yet.) [no gender] Rotom - timid (these pokémon would then go onto evolving into their final stages... except for Rotom, as it has no other evolutions. the F stands for Female, and yes, I do have a very Feminine team... again except for rotom, as it is genderless... LOL XD) Wow... I really like the sound of my city, This post has been edited by Shining Star: Apr 12 2011, 09:35 AM -------------------- Goldie's spoiler of wonder! (click to show ) Art Credits! Maybe, but all I know is that your Pokemon and you make an exotic flavor and aroma that I've never seen before! It's like - Someone, MAKE IT STOP!!! I know I want to be a Pokémon Connoisseur, but I didn't want my Cilan button to be pushed - It's like a delicious new spice that has a new flavor every time you try it!

It's over... Anyway, thanks! It is my main goal in my Pokemon Life to be the best Pokémon Connoisseur and Trainer ever. Hm?... Hey, Cilan said that my Pokémon Connoisseur rank has gone up to B-Rank! If you don't know what I'm talking about, look here -

Yeah, connoiseur ranks go up when you get mroe experienced (I am thinking this anyways.) Being a pokemon connoiseur sound like a cool job, but to be a gym leader would be amazing. If I wasn't to be a gym leader, I would be a coordinator with the same team, and try my best at becoming a top coordinator.
