Hey, just checking in. I've been noticing some male Vespiquen lately? I know they've been around since Sinnoh/Gen 4 yeeears ago, but I've just realized that Vespiquen are coded with 87.5% Male & 12.5% Female (Like Combee), but Vespiquen are only suppose to be Female. Was this over looked or intentional? My apologies for bothering anyone if it's intentional, because I know hatching a shiny male Combee would be devastating.

When Vespiquen was first introduced (y'know, back when GPX started) there was nothing stopping Male Combee from evolving into it. I don't remember if it's still possible or not, if I were you I'd get a male Combee and try it. But it was certainly a bug back then and it hasn't been replicated for other monogender evolutions.

Yea, the gender ratio error is still there. I checked it before coming here because that's what made me curious to look. -------------------- Hiya, nya~ Don't forget to water your pokemon

No, it's not a bug. Perfectly intentional.
Combee has a 7:1 Male/Female ratio, so the admins decided to let males evolve so that people who quickly wanted to fill their Pokedexes didn't have to hatch too many eggs if they didn't want to. From a quick search on the forums for 'Vespiquen' under bugs, this is the reason. -------------------- Don't forget to love yourself. That's strange - I always thought it was a bug, especially because I recall people asking for the admins to do the same with newer monogender evolutions (by which I mean Salandit) and staff were like 'no, Combee was a bug in the first place'. Can you confirm / deny?

Can you confirm / deny? https://forums.gpx.plus/index.php?showtopic=10136 A few users were under the impression that it was deliberate within a month after GPX+ launched, and it seems like no one in authority corrected them. Worst-case scenario, it started as a bug but wasn't corrected so that getting a Vespiquen wouldn't be such a hassle. As to why it was never implemented for other gender-lopsided evolutions... *shrug* EDIT: Here's Word of God, aka Big Bidoof, chiming in at the end of March 2009, yup yup: We made it so both genders can evolve to Vespiquen, so that male Combees aren't completely worthless.
