Now that I kinda understand EVs, I put together a team for competitive battling in my Platinum game.

I usually battle under this rules:

*Nature: Jolly (+Speed/-SpAtk)
*EVs: 176 Hp, 252 Atk, 80 Speed

Dragonite (Draco)
*Item: Muscle Band / Choice Scarf
Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Adamant (+Atk/-SpAtk)
EVs: 6 Hp, 252 Atk, 252 Speed
-Aqua Tail
-Earthquake*
-Brick Break*
-Dragon Claw*

**
Ursaring (Teddy)
Item: Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Nature: Adamant (+Atk/-SpAtk)
EVs: 6 Hp, 252 Atk, 252 Speed

Hm... I've never really heard of Blissey being used as a Lead. Normally it's used as a wall, or for team support.
But I'm interested in seeing how that turns out.

In terms of resistances, you're doing pretty well. You're only real holes are Electric (Which one Pokemon is weak too, and none resist), and Dark (Which hits everyone for normal damage).

Only two members of your team are weak to Stealth Rock, (I think Ninjask and Dragonite.)

So, not taking moves or EVs into account, you stack up pretty well right now.

There is more I could comment on but I don't really have the time. On snorlax I suggest you give it Crunch and Body Slam over Double Edge and Zen Headbutt. Using Double Edge along with Rest and Sleep talk is just asking for trouble, you will be wasting health points from the recoil damage. Whereas you could have a nice chance to paralyze the opponent with Body Slam or lower their defense with Crunch.

Powerful team. Except something was overlooked. You have a giant hole against fast Ice types. *cough*Weavile*cough*
I suggest you equip a Quick Claw on your Snorlax, since it would do well against any of those Ice-types. If you don't want a Quick Claw on it(well, I wouldn't, just a suggestion), put on a nice Chesto berry so it wakes up to do more damage. Or a Lum berry. Whatever makes you happy.
Blissey as a lead would wall your opponent in the beginning, thus leading to an advantage. Nice. yourmove.gif
Your Metagross will be crushed by Fire types. horrified.gif You should be careful with it, like using an Occa berry or something.
All controversy aside, the team would last well against many people. woot.gif clap.gif hmmyes.gif

Quick claw? That's a pointless hax item. And most people don't play with those.

You might want to Max Blisseys HP. Throwing all those EV's in defense really doesn't help all too much. Max HP will help a lot more. As for the lead moveset, I'm not sure, this is the first time I've ever seen someone evern attempt lead bliss. I wouldn't recommend it. Most common leads are physical, which tear blissey apart (See: Infernape)

Anyways, I would throw away the defense EVs on Ninjask and go with more of a offensive spread like 176 HP / 252 Atk / 80 Speed with Jolly nature suits Jask much better

Jask doesn't have time to set up toxic, so throw that out too, X-scissor or Aerial Ace should take its place

Not too sure on the whole kingdra set, Draco-herb seems useless to me. And the fact that all your moves except flash cannon have less than 100 accuracy might come back to bite you in the ass one day.

DDdra looks like a good option IMO.

Replace Ice Punch with Earthquake and throw on a choice band and 'Nite is good to go.

Lax is completely walled by Spiritomb, bronzong, steel types, etc, etc.

Zen headbutt should be replaced with Explosion, It had more power behind it, and when you predict gross is going to get Ko'ed soon, you can blow it up and take your opponent with you possibly rather than just dying alone.

Good luck!

I can't really comment much until I see how it'd actually be like in a battle. Kinda too hard to imagine. If your team is ready, I challenge you to a battle.

Forgot to update this...

I decided to replace Snorlax with a Ursaring

Ursaring (Teddy)
Item: Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
Nature: Adamant (+Atk/-SpAtk)
EVs: 6 Hp, 252 Atk, 252 Speed
-Facade
-Earthquake
-Hammer Arm
-??? (maybe Fire Punch.. give me an option here)

And I might replace my Kingdra for a Alakazam for my special sweeper

Alakazam (Chazam)
Item: Wise Glasses
Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Modest (+SpAtk/-Atk)
EVs: 6 Hp, 252 SpAtk, 252 Speed
-Psychic
-Focus Blast
-Shadow Ball
-Hidden Power (Fire)
(not sure about his attacks though)

@ Blue Tomoshibi
True about Blissey (though, I might replace her with a Shuckle), I already fixed Jax, I'm still not sure about Dragonite

@ Dark Chidori
Go to my battle thread if you want to battle me

But you can't forget the merits of that 714 HP stat.

Crunch, Fire Punch, and Thunder Punch are all viable options for that last slot on Ursurang. Go with whatever you feel Ursurang is having problems with.

Wise glasses for Choice Specs. It requires a bit more prediction to use right, but trust me, the payout is worth it. Other than that its looking pretty good now.

Blissey shouldn't exactly run full sp defense, shouldn't it? Her mammoth special Defense is good enough.. She'll wall special attackers perfectly without them, and go with 252 defense and hp with 6 sp attack.

As someone said before, DDNite should be the way to go. DDance, Outrage, Fire Blast and another move might possibly work, Fire Blast to dent Skarmory.

Alakazam should go for Specs with Timid, imo. You'll want to outspeed as much as you can.

If Ninjask is going to be a Baton passer, I don't think he'll need that many EVs in ATT, they would be much better in SP DEF.

I mean...your ATT would be boosted by Swords dance, and the only reason you'd wanta pokemon tohave that much EV in ATT is when you plan on taking multiple pokemon out with that pokemon. Either use him as a baton passer, and switch the ATT EVs to SP DEF or have him as a sweeper, in which case change the moveset.

MY REASONING: Boton Passers need to get in, throw some ATT boosting stats in, and baton pass out. To do that, you need to outlast both physical and special attacks, which means HP, DEF, and SP DEF, not ATT...unless he's a physical sweeper, in which case you need a completely different moveset since his only attack would be X-scizzor, which would be horribly innefficient.

MORE: All I'm sayen is that I can walk in with a Magmortar, have him live through your not-very-effective X-scizzor, and then use Flamethrower, which is not only super effective, but a special attack, which you have 0 EVs to combat against.

252 HP and SpD EVs won't save you against a Magmortar. It's better to leave the EVs as it is.

I don't know if you would still want to switch to a Shuckle, but I think shuckles are extremely helpful at walling.

Shuckle
Bold
@ Leftovers
(+Def -Attack)
252 HP 252 either defense or a split and remaining 6 in other Defense.

Toxic
Stealth Rock
Substitute
Protect

It can effectively shut down anything and if you have a Vaporeon or other BP on your team you can pass it an aqua ring to maximize recovery. In addition if someone is using Ttar they start a sandstorm effectively raising your Special Defense making it an effective dual wall with these conditions present. Its just a thought.......

Ok, let's plan this out.

Ninjask: Protect
Magmortar: Flamethrower (no effect)

Ninjask: Swords Dance
Magmortar: Flamethrower (left at 1 HP thanks to focus sash)

Ninjask: Baton Pass
Magmortar: Flamethrower (hits the next pokemon)

a) You only got 1 Swords dance on the feild
b) You only got two speed boosts on the feild as well
c) You're now screwed since your ninjask is at 1 HP
d) You didn't use ANY Attacking moves. In fact, you ended up using everything BUT the attacking move.

You see what I'm sayen? ATT EVs are USELESS for what you plan on using him for.
