Ok I need to ask another question. Should I try and get a Piplup via WiFi trading so I can get Empoleon?
I already have a lvl.40 Infernape which was my starter and a lvl.38 Torterra which got as a lvl.1 Turtwig. The second question is, what should I trade for Piplup? I traded Happiny for Turtwig. -------------------- |I claim Blaziken

Of course you should get one. Need one for your Pokédex. Remember, gotta catch em all!
I don't know what to trade it for though. -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? Check out my website: randimg!

I loathe Empoleon, to be honest. >_> It has the typing to be tankish, but the stats of a crappy special sweeper, and a poor movepool for it. IMO Infernape >>> Torterra > Empoleon.

I started with Torterra, but now I realize that Infernape is better, for a bunch of reasons

I started with chimchar just because... well, monkeys are cool. >_>;
Otherwise, I would've chosen Piplup because Penguins are pretty nifty too. Once I finally get further in Diamond I'll go bug Endymion for one of those Piplups. >:] -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? Check out my website: randimg!

Friend Code Please. It's in my profile. I already have yours. @BaS: I want to test him out. I started out with Chimchar and got Turtwig. Until I see Empoleon for myself, I'll keep it like you have it. -------------------- |I claim Blaziken

That's because there's a rumored difficulty with each starter. Infernape = easy, Torterra = medium, Empoleon = hard. I started with Turtwig and managed to get all three thanks to GTS. IMO, Empoleon is well worth the effort. If I remember correctly, I traded one of my many Woopers or something for a lvl 1 Pipulp. Plus, with Brine its false tanking comes in handy, then you full restore or whatever and you're good to go. I always say try it out before you decide whether or not you should keep it. And if you don't like it, you could always trade it in for a shiny or something! =) -------------------- All your Abra are belong to me! |

I always found Tortera to have the upper hand. Earthquake, Wood Hammer, Giga Drain, and Synthesis have been real good to me. I always like to start off with Wood Hammer then follow up with a giga drain when I'm fighting pokemon not resistant to Grass type moves. He's always my choice for taking on toughies like Tyranitar and Metagross.
Empoleon is a real good pokemon, IMO, but he's not so exciting to use. His water/steel type is pretty nifty and it makes it a good choise for battling some tough dragon types (if he can survive the first hit, 'cause we all know he'll hardly ever attack first in battle). Its weakness to ground type moves pisses me off sometimes X__X Infernape is good, I guess, but I always have a differen fire pokemon in mind when it comes to adding one to my team. I think the fire/fighting match up only leaves more negatives than possitives. I mean, he's open to two more weaknesses which I think are pretty common over the net battling: Flying and Psychic. Its speed and attack are good when it comes down to you making the first move, but it takes some harsh damage from one of the most commonly used moves in the game :earthquake, along with other popular moves like Psychic, air slash, and Surf. either way, they're all over level 60 and sitting in my PC, -------------------- |

I always loved Empoleon, though I'm not known to like the water starters. It's move pool is admittedly crap, but I've found Bubble beam, Brine, Grass knot, and a filler move to work very well throughout the game.
I hate they reused a fire/fighting type in PD. I prefer Blaziken well over Infernape. I was hoping for a more unique combination this time. >> -------------------- My first fusion-thing ever. xP

I'd love to see a Fire/Steel type or a Fire/Dark type. Seems pretty original, right? I was amazed with the Water/Steel combo, but too bad the pokemon ended up in the background for me.

Fire/steel would be too weak to ground types, for me.
Fire/dark would be awesome. That's actually what I was hoping for this time, but, oh well. Better luck next generation. I LUV Empoleon's steel type! He's awesome in the Elite Four, I beat them with no trouble. ^^ -------------------- My first fusion-thing ever. xP

The Elite 4 was incredibly easy with Torterra on my team. Golduck and Luxray played huge parts as well, despite the fact that no one on my team was above level 53. (toterra was the highest at 53)
Actually, water pokemon have done extremely well for me. Golduck and Gyrados have done amazingly well and never died in the game, even when facing a pokemon at a significantly higher level. My other pokemon had no such luck -------------------- |

I only had 3 useable Pokemon for my first E4 battle. o0 Empoleon, Dialga, and Lucario. I'm too lazy to train a lot of Pokemon before the E4. >>
