Do you think your character could use some company on his/her adventure? Not impressed with the human PCs? Do you have a character in mind? Look no further, for "Partners" are now officially added to the PANE RP!!!

The newest addition to PANE is quite old, introduced by Master Houndoom. These are different from NPCs, as described below:

NPCs: Temporary filler characters used to advance the plot of a particular RP. This can be as simple as a cashier working in a pokemart or a family member making an impromptu phone call. Other times, it can be a minor villain acting as the main antagonist in an RP. Usually, these NPCs are around for one RP, but they can reappear in another later RP. Unless otherwise noted, you shouldn't need permission to create an NPC.

NOTE: Player-created NPCs will require permission from the creator to use (unless otherwise noted). NPCs like the various Nurse Joys/Officer Jennys do not require permission.

Partners: Characters like Meiko Omura, these characters are a mix between PC and NPC. They act as a frequently recurring character, often accompanying the main character in his or her travels. These partners tend to be good friends, advisors, slaves, or even significant others. Other times, they are rivals to the main character, appearing often throughout the story. Partners are free to pursue their own goals (example: main goes for gym battles, partner for contests, etc) and share level average with the main. Permission is required before acquiring a partner; this means that a mod will have to approve a profile for the partner.

Rules

1. Only one partner per main character
2. The partner must be within the same thread as the main character. That is, the partner can't participate in another RP different from that as the main character.
3. A partner serves as a supporting character, while the main usually has the majority of the spotlight. You can't play solely as the partner.
4. Partners are different from major recurring villains (like Team Deception), though both require permission from a mod.
5. Partner's pokemon team shares the level average of the main's team. Upon creation, they can have any pokemon under the sun (except legendaries, pseudo-legends, and fossils) and can obtain more (make requests in capture request thread). Evolved pokemon are also allowed, so long as the total levels remain in the level average.

Personality: Jayne is a kind, likable and modest person. Like her mother, she's a soothing presence, and finds it easy to genuinely win friends. Before her time at the Pokemon Academy, was was overly cautious about a lot of things, constantly over-calculating the consequences of her actions and second-guessing herself. While there, Jayne really came into her own, retaining her maturity yet finding it easier to relax herself in tense social situations while also calming others as well, often acting as the peacekeeper between friends who find it easy to bicker.

Bio: Jayne was born on the top floor of the Sparkling Lighthouse to a woman named Jasmine. Jasmine's family has taken care of the lighthouse for generations, and it is the place that Jayne most easily calls home. She knows every nook and crevice of it, literally growing up inside the grand lighthouse. Her mother was always with her, taking her Gym Leader duties second to raising her child. Jayne always respected her for that and held her mother in high regard. Jayne's best Pokefriend was her mother's Ampharos. Jayne, a naturally quiet little girl, was always scared of the big scary steel pokemon her mother had raised, but knew how powerful they were. So instead of playing with the enormous Steelix when she was younger, Jayne preferred Amphy. Much to Jasmine's surprise, Amphy hatched a little baby Mareep while Jayne was about six years old. They have been insuperable ever since. That Mareep has since then evolved into Jayne’s current Flaafy, and is her favorite pokemon to appeal with.

When Jayne turned 14, her mother decided that it was time to stop playing around the lighthouse and begin her adventure; but Jayne insisted that she was still not ready. So, invoking her powers as a gym leader, Jasmine made a special request to the Administrators of the Pokemon Academy. It was not far from the coast of Olivine, so Jayne would not be going very year from home anyway, and Jayne saw the logic in that. Jayne has always found pokemon battling too intense for her cute little Flaafy, and has decided to become a Pokemon Coordinator. Jayne is extremely interested in pokemon care and nurturing, but decided that being a breeder would be to boring for her. When forced to battle and during practice contest appeals, Jayne has shown to be extremely strategic, carefully planning moves ahead of time so that she would never be caught off guard. With this strategy, Jayne defeated the exam proctor that made a special trip for Jayne to Olivine City, her being the daughter of a Gym Leader. Soon after, Jayne departed from the Olivine harbor with her beloved Flaafy to uncharted lands at the Pokemon Academy.

In her time at the Pokemon Academy, Jayne made many lifelong friends and really came into her own, truly finding herself as a person. Although she never became quite the coordinator she wanted to be—she graduated at the upper part of the middle of her class—she learned an unbelievable amount from her time there. Her relationship with Professor Oldmun, the teacher of Ancient History and Jasmine’s old excavation mentor, gifted her with one of his most prized possessions—a Shieldon—because he believed any daughter of his favorite student of all time would amount to greatness. Jayne hopes that she will live up to her expectations, as they are certainly great in any regard. Although she does not know if she wants to actually be a coordinator any more, after three years of school, she is dying for adventure, and cannot wait to get her start in the Furoh Region.
