Do you prefer cats or dogs? I personally prefer cats, and I have 3.

Oh, tough choice! I love them both, but I can't have either. Where I live, I can only keep small dogs, but my family would rather not. I do love cats, but I have this nagging suspicion I have a mild allergy to them, because some cats make me break out it rashes.

I prefer dogs, a not popular opinion apparently. I don't have any because I'm allergic to pet fur.

Voted cats, but dogs just as equally.

I prefer cats. I currently own neither, but have taken care of both on several occasions, and used to own a dog for a while. The cats were less of a pain because they were quiet and could be trusted not to thrash the house if left unsupervised.
I have had really good experiences with dogs, though, like my neighbor's jack russell, the golden retriever from a western-themed summer camp I used to go to, and the labradoodle that belonged to my brother's friend. They were all very sweet. When I get my own house, I'm going to get a Ragdoll cat as a companion. They're my favorite breed. (My dad hates cats, so I can't get one right now.) -------------------- |

I love both, but I like cats just a bit better. I have 3 right now (1 at dad's, 2 at mom's) and a dog at my mom's. In total, I've had 8 cats (4 at each house), 3 dogs (1 at my dad's who we gave to the shelter after we were no longer able to take care of, and one at my mom's who didn't get along well with the cats), and my mom fostered two dogs while they waited for an owner. Plus, I might get a dog at the beginning of the next school year.
In addition, I have had four hamsters, three mice, and countless fish (I even have a mini shark right now c:). So yeah. We're a pet family. -------------------- Came back on a whim because I saw something that reminded me of here. I like cats a lot better than dogs. I have one right now, Raeanne. I rescued her from people who were not taking care of her at all. I've had three cats in my life. The other two were when I was little. Their names were Spotty and D.C. ,that darn cat and he lived up to his name:). I am definately a cat person. Geno and I are planning on getting another cat for Raeanne to play with.

I´m probably bored right now... Group: Members Posts: 93 Joined: 20-April 11 From: Maybe I am your neighbour... Member No.: 138 729 A few favorites... |
I prefer dogs over cats. I guess I couldn´t live without a dog... I´m used to have a dog around me. Dogs are way more loyal than cats. And much cuter, in my opinion at least.
And somehow, I don´t even like cats. I dunno why, but I would never want a cat in my house. -------------------- |

I've had cats and dogs all my life, and always at the same time, so I can't really say which one I like better. Right now, I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and they all get along quite nicely. Heck, my cat Gordon will play with my dogs Digger and Harley like he was a dog himself! It's quite funny to watch! My other cat's name is Leo and he's a lazy bum! He just sleeps all day and he's not really a people person, but he'll crawl right into your lap once he gets to know you.

Both are equally awesome, but I voted for cat.
We can't have pets, since our aunts who live with us wouldn't allow it. -------------------- ayy

I prefer dogs. They're more social, upbeat, and caring. They're always super excited to see you come home everyday, which makes you happy. They love to play with people and always tell you when they want or need something such as food or the outdoors. A lot of dogs are easily trainable and easily get along with humans. They're waaaay more loyal, too.
I've been around cats before, but meh.. I just found them too independent. They seem way too lazy and independent for my tastes. And they're gone over half of the day sleeping, making it really hard to form close bonds like with dogs. It's hard to train cats to do tricks (come, stay, etc etc) because of their independent nature. Besides, you can't get the excersize that walking a dog'll give you, but with a cat.. I have two dogs: Clifford (6 year old Beagle) and Ringo (2 year old Border Collie mix that we adopted from a local shelter). I have Cynophobia so I prefer cats. Well, until my family had 16 of them. Don't ask me why I moved out of my house.

I like cats more by far. Dogs smell, yes they do, now shut up. You also have to take them out of the house every time they want to go to the bathroom unless you want them to go in the house, the bark a lot, they try and eat stuff off the table, they follow you around and try to stick their wet, disgusting noses everywhere you are, they need too much attention and they slobber all over. They also play bite which hurts.
Cats go to the litter box, don't jump on you, are light enough to be able to pick them up, don't play bite much at all, don't need that much attention, don't beg for table scraps of much of anything at all, don't try to interrupt your homework and don't smell as much as dogs. That isn't to say that I don't like dogs, I do, but they have to be somebody else's dog. I'm sensitive to smell and that's one of the main reasons that I cannot handle dogs. -------------------- |
