Shiny from New Year's Exchange Doesn't Count for Hunt? |

I received a Shiny Flabebe [Yellow] in the New Year's Exchange, and I have been shiny hunting it since the May 2015 Site-Wide Shiny Hunt. For some reason, the shiny did not count since my shiny hunt did not end. I did however receive the Pixie Plate simply for hatching it. Are the New Year's Exchange trades not able to end shiny hunts, or is this some error?

Apparently it says in the help section that exchange shinies don't count.

You can't finish a hunt with one of those, it's written on the help page ^^
