Name:

Aya Marie Sampson. Her name is an adaptation of the Greek name for 'beauty', which she resents. Aya appreciates her own feminine beauty but doesn't like it do define her.

Hometown:

She has lived in what is now known as Noverus since she was born. She was only around two years old when Magma took over, ending their peaceful life in their city. Her Pokemon were offspring of her father's Pokemon, who was an avid Trainer--and a strong Rebel against Team Magma. He was compromised on that fateful day when Magma quashed the Rebellion, however, and Aya hasn't seen her father since.

Appearance:

Aya is a willowy, tall girl with a somewhat athletic build. She has what you would call a 'swimmer's body', with lithe muscles and a slender figure. Her skin is naturally fair, though she has a bit of a tan where her clothing doesn't cover her skin. Her hair is long with thick bangs in the front. It's a soft chestnut brown and is usually fairly straight with a few natural waves in it. Aya wears it back most of the time, though she lets some fall forward in front of her ears. Her eyes are a bright, almost spooky emerald green touched with hints of turquoise. They are large and somewhat doelike, sometimes giving her an innocent or naive appearance.

Aya keeps her clothing choices simple. She isn't affected much by cold weather and so she doesn't wear much more than a sweater in the winter. In warmer weather she wears a white tank top with denim shorts and her favorite blue running shoes. The PokeTech she uses is somewhat old-fashioned, having been given to her ten years ago by her father. She gets it updated when she can with newer technology, but always keeps the clunky old base she started off with. It's something of a comfort to her and she is always messing with it.

Personality:

Aya is very mature for her age, having had to grow up in a hard city without her parents to help her. She lived alone from 12 years old onward, getting money only from Pokemon battles. Her neighbors and close community turned a blind eye to her plight since she had Magma's attention--they didn't want to get persecuted by associating with the daughter of a Rebel. This has made her wise beyond her years. In conversation, Aya is normally reserved and quiet--not because she is shy, but because she analyzes everything and chooses her words carefully. Aya is also humble in her abilities as a Trainer. She knows that speaking about her abilities doesn't hold a candle to showing people what she can do, so Aya will often downplay herself when she is stronger than she says she is. One positive childlike trait she's held onto is hope--hope that her missing father is alive and in hiding, and that she can one day join the Rebellion and overthrow Magma once and for all.

Her only true friends are her three Pokemon. Her father, being a Fire-type Trainer, passed down the eggs of three of his own Pokemon to her. Aya and he named them after various blended Latin words--he was always fascinated with dead languages and archaeology. Aya didn't really pick that up from him, but she appreciates the past in general. She and her Growlithe, Litwick, and Charmander have built up a strong bond of trust and understanding with one another, almost to the point where they can communicate like two humans speaking the same language. Aya's only enemy as of now is Team Magma and especially Tyson, who was rumored to have tracked her father down personally. She seeks to find their leader and interrogate him about her father's whereabout, if he is indeed still alive.

Though she is wise for her age and very mature, Aya sometimes breaks down and gives in to childlike tendencies. She will cling to others at times and act very dependent--this is possibly because she misses human contact and a closeness to someone who isn't a Pokemon. She also may lose her head in a battle when her thoughts overwhelm her. In these situations, she freezes up in fear of failure, costing her precious time that sometimes becomes her downfall.

Romantically, Aya is almost completely unavailable. Her mind is focused on her goals and she will do anything to get there that isn't morally corrupt. However, with enough coaxing and support from the right person, she may respond positively to the idea of a relationship.

Biography:

When Aya was born, her mother died due to a serious case of eclampsia. She was raised by her father in their city. Aya has lived in Noverus for as long as she can remember, and Tyson has been their governer/ruler since she was two years old. Despite the ruler's unfair government and a need to bow her head, she has managed to maintain a hopeful attitude.

Her Pokemon were offspring of her father's Pokemon, who was an avid Trainer--and a strong Rebel against Team Magma. He was compromised on that fateful day when Magma quashed the Rebellion, however, and Aya hasn't seen her father since. She was twelve years old when he disappeared. Since then she has been training her Pokemon as hard as she can, as well as her own body. Team Magma keeps a close watch on her because of her family history, so she has little chance to do so; she sneaks out at night to seek Wild Pokemon to battle and get experience for her 'mons.

She dearly wishes to join the Rebellion like her brave father once did and follow in his footsetps, and her three Pokemon are willing to do the same and fight like their parents did as well. However, she has no clue who is a part of it and how to even become one of the Rebels. Aya remains cautious and wise about seeking the Rebellion, but internally she is frustrated at the lack of leads to the organization.

Preferred Faction:

-Civillian-She wants to be part of the Rebellion, but she does not know where their base is or who is a part of it.

Boss:

None. She lives alone in hers and her Father's old house and doesn't answer to anyone besides the tyrannical Tyson of Team Magma, and only when she absolutely must do so to survive.
