I'm absolutely terrified of any sort of pain, damage, or discomfort to the abdomen or it's respective organs.
There isn't really a name for it. I'm also terrified of garbage disposals and abandonment. -------------------- |

Nostophobia - the fear of returning home. It's not so much the 'returning home' side of it, but moreso what I don't want to see when I get back.

Fear of Dying Alone - There's just something morbidly terrifying about a scenario where I could die and none of my friends and family would even be aware of it. Or worse, no one else being around for it. Outliving loved ones is one of those morbid realities that I still have trouble processing, which brings me to my next one.
Fear of Losing Loved Ones - Family members, friends, people I've had strong feelings for. I've come very close to experiencing this in the past few years, and I was repeatedly told that the person in question had a possibility of brain death coming out of this. Years after the fact and everything thankfully turned out okay, I still have a bit of a hard time just handling the fact that I came that close. It's the kind of reality check I would love to just not have to experience again for several decades. Tornadoes - Probably one of my dumber fears, but something about a swirling structure of wind capable of flinging objects with such force that you could be impaled by a chunk of timber or metal with ease, crushed by a flung object, or in the very worst case, picked up and flung with a velocity that would either kill you while in the air or as soon as you make impact with something else. Though they're kind of fast, they're also huge and loud so you can see them far away. Not to mention, I don't live in a tornado-prone area so there's nothing to worry about aside from the rare tornado warning. Brain Trauma / Loss of Sanity - This ties into what was mentioned about my fear of losing loved ones. Just think about it: you, as a person, are essentially defined by this one component inside your head. Anything happening to that terrifies me. Aneurysms, brain death, and anything where I could just stop being what I consider my "sane self". We really underestimate just how incredible thought is. Large and Deep Bodies of Water - Don't get me wrong, I love swimming and I can handle swimming in deep water as long as whatever my escape route is can be seen nearby. On the other hand, dropping me in the middle of the ocean with nothing? I'd be completely screwed regardless of whether or not there's any aquatic predatory life. I can swim, but I can't swim to the point that I'd be able to last on my own in the ocean for more than 5-10 minutes. GG. Fear of Falling / "L’appel du vide" AKA "Call of the void" / Vertigo - I don't mind being high up in places as much as I used to as a kid, especially if I feel secure behind something that is either fully closed or at least chest-height. L’appel du vide, or the call of the void, is that urge to jump from a high place. This is another one of my sanity fears because I know my currently sane and sober self would never jump, but can the same be said if I were to be high up on an unsafe structure while drunk or just not in a sane and perfectly aware state of mind? It's some scary shit. -------------------- [align=center]

I used to be utterly afraid of the dark, but no longer. Nowadays my biggest fear is failing college. I'm not one for studying but I really like the stuff I'm doing and so I hope to stick at it for the four years that's in it.

If it's any reassurance, a friend of mine completely failed a C++ exam in college and is currently working in C++ for a living. Enjoying what you do matters far more than a statistic that's, in most circumstances, irrelevant outside the education system. Some food for thought on any grade-related fears. -------------------- [align=center]

Slightly claustrophobic and afraid of death, but yet death has a certain fascination to me as well. I don't really classify these as "fears" since I'm not afraid of them in their totality. My three main fears are as follows, ranked in order of rationality.
1. Clowns 2. Needles 3. Mold One is self explanatory, childhood memories and such. As for needles, it applies to almost any needle, be it for drawing blood or just simply sewing. I don't like the idea that they can just seamlessly slide into your body and take stuff from it. I also an afraid a needle will break when it's in me and I'll just have needle fragments everywhere. And now I get into the mold one. Long story short, when I was two years old I almost died because of my penicillin allergy. I'm now skeptical of anything moldy. If one slice of bread has mold growing, the entire loaf goes as well. My parents think oddly of the fact that I am so deathly afraid of mold when they were there watching me almost die when I took penicillin that once. -------------------- Came back on a whim because I saw something that reminded me of here. That's pretty sweet. I'm studying C++ myself, and I do find it quite interesting, especially after discovering that one of my favourite game series of all time was mostly made in C++, so it's been a huge motivation boost! -------------------- Software engineer by day. My biggest fear might sound a bit stupid since its very rare and would be veray hard to do. It is, that I would get stuck on the train tracks and get hit by a train. Yeah I know, but it scares me a lot. My second would be falling in the water up in Alaska or Antartica. The water is really dark and you never know whats down there. I have no problems with swimming in lakes or the ocean but the water up there scares me.

I'm scared of heights, needles, fire, drowning, bugs, sloths, death and failure.
People usually laugh when I tell them that I'm terrified of sloths, but they're insanely scary to me. ; w ; |

I go crazy about any kind of bug. If it's not already dead I'll try my best to kill it and never EVER come in contact with it. The only exception is caterpillars, since my brother and I collected them when we were younger.
I also tell people I am allergic to pain, but it's probably just the anticipation of it inevitably coming when I expect it. If I get hurt, say, playing a sport, I don't tend to overreact like I do if I'm at the local fire station giving blood. Public speaking and disappointing others (Through failure to do something or otherwise) are also high up there. Oddly enough, I don't fear death. I'm more curious than anxious about what awaits beyond. (Although I'm not gonna go all suicidal just to find out) I don't want to go off on some religious discussion, but I like to keep an open mind about what's out there. -------------------- Stuff (click to show ) |

My biggest fear is that I would be left alone with violent people and that the only thing that I could do was something stupid so I could get some peace.

The thing I fear the most (it actually might be the only thing i fear) is living an ordinary life, with ordinary job, having the same daily routine everyday for the rest of my life. I'm doomed with mind not able to imagine this way of living for myself.

emetophobia (phobia of vomiting) and the inevitability of death are my only known fears/phobias at the moment. they both cause me panic and feel nauseous which isn't good because of my emetophobia.

Some of my biggest fears are bugs, being alone, fire (because I set my hair on fire by accident when I was 16, lol. And thank goodness wasn't hurt.), and ventriloquist dolls (long story).
