You can get tons of points if you grind the subway. I normally win 13 battles in a row (11,250 worth of items) or 7 battles in a row (7000 worth of items) and end my streak then reset. I usually sweep 6 or 7 of the 9 leaders every time I go through them. Crits and certain gym leaders make full sweeps hard for me personally, though. There are 4 or 5 gym leaders that aren't based on their "type" too so that tosses things up too.

I'm not good at the battle tower either, I haven't even been able to beat any of the npc, although to be fair I haven't tried really hard. I just don't like battle tower/subway/tree in the games, so it's not my priority to be able to win every battle in here, I like collecting (shiny) pokemon way more. Maybe someday I'll try getting those combs, just to complete the dex. I guess it can be fun when you can actually win a lot and have a great team with cool items?

On another note, I'm almost done with task 6 of TBD!!, so if you could help me a little bit by giving this Kecleon a spicy berry (cheri berry) I'd really appreciate it!

Only during explorations and that's pretty much it.

I think it's just some kind of coding side-effect. I believe it was initially implemented to highlight Eggs that could form change/hatch with Evolution items?

I'm not sure about the italics, either. IIRC, it was all normal until Misquaza was added. After that, Rayquaza was the only egg that had italicized text. People theorized it was to help people find it because a lot of people summoned it to get the new novelty. The site used to just have text descriptions (no image desc) too but I assume they got rid of it to prevent ctrl+f abuse. Shelter eggs also used to show cracks if they had the required maturity. I miss that.

I usually just grind items or exploration Pokemon in the battle tower. I have close to 900k worth of items right now. If anyone still needs the combs, my main tips would be 1. Get a fast single type Pokemon 2. Give it the relevant choice item 3. Try not to switch out unless you are switching into a 1/2 or below move. The majority of gym leaders are extraordinarily easy to beat so you just need to deal with the few that are annoying.

I had to search for a while to find Spades' post explaining the reason for the italics, but I found it!

Whenever changes are made to a Pokemon on the site, the server basically "re-initializes" their egg's lab text. This server uses a different font pack for the text than the previous one did, however, causing the text to be italicized. We recently updated the Gen V Pokemon with their German names, so that caused their egg text to change, too.

This is why at first it was only certain pokémon, and then also gen 5 and the newest mons. So no, not actually intended.

tbh I used to think that when they said "it's nothing special" it was in a "wink wink nudge nudge" way


@koala bear Vivillon patterns work like form changes. You need to get flags from the underground.

The 19 probably comes from the number of formes. You can change their formes by using Flags you get from the UG.

The forms don't appear in the Sprite Dex, since each form is considered a "separate" pokemon in the pokedex. Each form has only one sprite (as far as i know)

Just passed 600 eggs for my Shiny Alolan Diglett. On a much better pace than my Bounsweet hunt a couple of months ago but with two multiplier weekends gone by already I hopefully won't have to cut it close again.

Meanwhile my luck in Ultra Sun had been unnatural. Got a Shiny Xurkitree and a Shiny Cobalion in less than 40 soft resets each!
