As many people may know, google will choose one city in the US and build ultra high speed internet there: http://www.google.com/appserve/fiberrfi/
How do you think this will affect GPX plus? Concerns? Anything? -------------------- |

Hey! Where's the clicker? Group: +Donors Posts: 190 Joined: 20-April 09 From: Not sure, no visible landmarks. Perhaps one of the moons of Venus? Member No.: 13 801 You're in trouble now |
Honestly I don't think it will have any adverse affects on the site. The biggest thing this might cause is if a bunch of mass clickers live in the city that's chosen because then they'll be getting so many more clicks then they already do.

Lol ANYONE can get fiberopics if you pay for it. Google is just building fiberopic based network systems to help deliver the flow of traffic.
What's slow is YOUR home connection. If you have dial up you probably won't see any change. All fiberoptics is, is rather than a wire sending your signal, you are using glass. This can be a benefit or not. Being it's made of glass it's easy to break and if the glass breaks it actually slows the network down more than it helps. Eeeeh I've never been a fan of fiberoptic connections. You're better off with the typical regular wire connections. Don't worry about this. -------------------- |

I was able to do a good bit of clicking back in the day when i had cable. Right now im on a fiber optic connection and i dont feel much of a difference at all. GPX is pretty "small" compared to some sites. As in the size of the pages are small. If it was much more to load, then yes.....a fiber optic connection would increase load time, thus making it easier and quicker for clickers(lol i rhymed)

Fibre optics isn't exactly anything new, as others have pointed out.
Don't really see the point of this thread . . . -------------------- |
