Here is a summary I made.
Togepi of 2G appeared on Season 1 Kecleon of 3G appeared on Season 4 Munchlax the 4G appeared on season 8 Either 1 to 2 years max after the launch of the previous generation. We arrive at the end of the season 12 and over 3 seasons and 3 movies 4G. there wasn't the slightest appearance of a new pokemon to maintain the mystery. Is this a sign of agony marking the approaching end of the franchise? because after the remake of gold and silver, the ore will be exhausted without new. In my case I think it's the option 4 or 5, a delay of over one year compared to previous generations can mean that all ideas of species have been exhausted. Well, not all ideas have been exhausted. There's still some ideas and real-life animal species that have yet to be "Pokemon-ized." I can't really think of any right now, but there's bound to be.
And they could always add evolutions and baby forms of certain Pokemon. Certain non-evolutionary Pokemon (Farfetch'd, Miltank, Tauros, etc.) should have some evolutions added. So there's still some ideas out there. Not as much as before, but it should be enough for those creative developers at Nintendo to get another generation out. --------------------   |

Wait until the next generation of video game consoles is released.
I'm sure there will be a 5G by then. In their blog, Game Freak mentioned going to the zoo. Also, they're hiring new employees, and one of the spots was a 2D/3D graphic artist. No doubt, they're designing new Pokemon. Seems like they'll take a short break from releasing main series games though, I think they've worn themselves out from Pt/HG/SS. :P
In my opinion, there will be seven gens, and the final will finally just go right on out and say what Pokemon is...

You do realize that the anime has little to do with the games, right? They base off serveral things from the games to the anime, but thats about it. The anime is there as another promotion tool. And if we follow the last generation correctly, when LG and FR were released, what did Ash do? Why he went back to Kanto fro the battle frontier which was something from Emerald!
My assumption is that the anime will head towards Johto next until they start to release things about the next Generation. trust me, Pokemon's not done with yet. --------------------        Credits here (click to show) |
