Ninetales does have some nice tricks, like hypnosis/nasty plot, but really I've always liked arcanine, and it has nice overall maximums.

Arcanine has better stats and loks cooler but Ninetails is cute and learns good moves.

I know now why ninetails is better in it's description on one of the cards i have, it says that if pick one of it's tails and you pick the wrong one you have a thousand year curse on you.

In terms of Battling, both have its uses but I'd pick Arcanine. There are better options for a special attacking fire pokemon than Ninetails
In terms of looks, Arcanine, its just cool. Shiny wise - Ninetails Anime wise - its a tie. The Arcanine's I've seen in the anime are wicked...but Ninetails just looked so cute. -------------------- [align=center]
