Current Contest: Dress-up a Blue Classified Pokémon! Contest runs from AUGUST 5TH to AUGUST 15TH

How to enter: To enter the contest, please send me your entry via PM only. Do not post your entry in the thread. There is no form involved as it will be completely anonymous. All you have to do is dress-up a Pokémon classified as http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Category:Blue-colored_Pok%C3%A9mon

Rules: Do NOT by any circumstance, post your entry in the thread. Do not confer with anyone else what your dress-up is. If I find out, your entry will be disqualified.

Prizes: 1st place will receive a random Rarity 10 trinket from my collection. 2nd place will receive a random Rarity 9 from my collection. 3rd place will receive a random Rarity 8 trinket from my collection. All the trinkets will try to be ones you haven't obtained yet.

In the case of a tie with results, it'll be as follows. If there is a joint 1st place, both entries will receive a random Rarity 10 trinket. The other entry will receive a Rarity 9. If there is a joined 2nd place, 1st place will still get a Rarity 10 trinkets and the 2 joint entries will both receive a Rarity 9 trinket.

I'd personally love some kind of group contest. Shiny hunts, dressups... I could even try my (very poor) hand at spriting. (Idea for a spriting contest - Azurite-themed Trinkets! Not only does it give everyone a chance to look at each other's, but they can also be submitted for inclusion in the Big Book, so there's actually a *point* to the contest in addition to prizes and fun!)

EDIT: Also, if I did my darndest and made some banners for us (userbars? not entirely sure what they're called; the type of thing in the spoiler in my signature), where should I host them? I really have no idea about which image hosting sites are good.

I don't know if I'd ever get around to spriting otherwise, but perhaps I could get started should we have contests. (I might need some help getting started, though...I have little experience with digital art-making...)

@pumpkinking0192 Yes, those are Userbars, and as for image hosting sites, I'm not the best when it comes to this, but from personal experience, I prefer hosting at Photobucket, as Iaza tends to remove the image after some time if the image gets too many views or such..

I'm liking the idea of affinity-based groups. I didn't really think much when they started out, but I always thought the Azurite icon was definitely the best XD Plus my three best friends are Azus too *glomps Sam and Forget me now, waiting patiently for Namikawa*

I tried looking for a quote from an admin to confirm it, but couldn't find one. But anyway, yes, to the best of my knowledge, affinities are 100% randomly assigned. I swear I've seen an admin say that, but I couldn't find it in Minor Updates or the first Trinkets topic :/

Yup Userbars would be a big help! I'm thinking of possibly adding in something for people to slip into their journals (merely optional of course) Shiny hunts, dressups and trinkets sounds like a good option, too I'll be waiting until we have a bigger userbase before we have one, howvever :p

If you did make userbars etc, what I use for my stuff is Photobucket. There isn't a limit (as far as I know, but if there is there's a huge ass limit)

As for the banners, anything knight related or blue related (normal or shiny) can be on there c:

It'll take a while, but I'll be working slowly on compiling a bit sprite list of blue shinies. I'll make a note of suggestions (I'll probably end up adding them all in aha) and we'll go from there.

Being the procrastinator I am, I've compiled a list of general blue shinies. There are bound to be some that have shiny sprites which have a blue tinge (Lapras springs to mind), but these were the ones that stood out to me.

If you're stuck on what you should shiny hunt, this is where to go *nods* I apologise in advance if there are any spelling errors...

@Poll Haha, fairly "unlucky" that both shiny Ditto and Unown are blue, right? xD I would vote for only Ditto and Unown to not be added, but there weren't any specific choices, so I went with no.

Sigh. Having quite the hard time with my legendary business.. Running low on money, having to sell miscs really quickly to attempt to buy them when they show up. Which doesn't really work out. For me, missing summoning items because I ran low on money AND not fulfilling the daily limit because of such stupid reason twice in a row is just devastating for me. Why must summoning items be so expensive.
Not doing that hot in the SWSH either... I guess I can say the same about our affinity, huh? :c The three shinies I managed to got so far didn't even get close to helping us, apparently.. I feel bad.

I made a couple of userbars for us! If anyone wants any particular other Pokemon in this style, feel free to ask and I'll be happy to make it. (Although maybe not immediately... those glows are all pixel-by-pixel, and wore out my hand much faster than clicking. Somehow.)

Sorry they're so tall; I wanted to use a single .psd for any in this style (for my convenience), so I made it 98 pixels tall so as to fit nearly anything. I suspect nothing will be too big for it except Black/White Kyurem and maybe Dialga, Ho-oh, Zekrom, and the Therian kami (and even then, I can just take off a layer or two of glow for them).

Oh, I just remembered that I had dressed up my Sh. Reuniclus with a warrior-ish look. I wasn't exactly going for Azuknight at the time (I even named her Blue Flubber), but I think it would fit for the group!

I know Ariados and Manectric aren't on Orenji's list, but, tbh, Ariados's G/S/C sprites are the closest to blue than the other sprites, and Manectric's fur is still kind of a darkish blue hue.

EDIT: As for the vote, I can see us individually trying to hunt one or more of these on our own time, but as a Group Hunt? No, not really. As was mentioned earlier, the inconsistency of obtaining the eggs would likely take far too long and result in too few winners for a Group Hunt to be made out of them.

I must say, SoMaPoKiTo, your Nidoking dress-up is hardcore XD And the Flygon is absolutely amazing.

I'll edit this post with my shinies soon, but I just wanted to throw out there that I'd make you proud since my GTS skin has always been the legendary one (blue-purple one with Gira, Pal and Dial at the top) and my GPX+ skin has always been Machop, which is also blue

Depending on how I go, I may make some userbars too. Don't count on it though.

I am so excited for the Olympics tonight. The blue Stadium totally matches Azurite. Azuknights, Clank your cups for the Summer Olympics 2012. Huddle around the round table where a TV lies, and watch it till we are victorius.

Also about the poll, I said Unsure because I dont think we should hunt Unown and Ditto, Just legends and All other pokemon.

I really like what I did with Nidoking's Dress-up, especially how the Elvis hair-do turned out with the Black Beard accessories.
Flygon really looks fit for the gentlemanly look, tbh. I kinda want to remake the tap shoes to something more solid black, but eh, they look good as is. Perhaps...I should make a Flygon barbershop quartet! XD

Aww, I missed the Olympics opening ceremony, maybe I'll just wait for the replay. Anyway, I was changing my GPX+ Skin from gold to blue, and I'm having trouble seeing egg descriptions in the Lab because I have a black background. I don't want to have lighter background since it's too bright for my eyes to handle.

EDIT: I just started a Tepig hunt because Emboar's blue flame is awesome. I hope this hunt won't take long.

You could try making the background with a less harsher black. Still blue but just a very dark blue. Try this code: #1a1a2d and see if it makes an impact on the colours. I can see lab eggs just fine with that

I love being an Azurite. I have my own macot for the Azurites and I am second in the current shiny hunt for most shinies hatched for Azurite.

I opened my 31 poké chests and got an Oceanic Crystal, 11th rarity 10! Makes a change... I just need 1 rarity 10 from the first set and a couple from the second set now. Working on finishing the sets slowly but surely! Kinda hard when most things I need are rarity 8+ and I don't have many dupes that the person actually needs aha xD

@Moonlit: I have the feeling Sam will be over the moon to see Kyurem's the big, legendary mascot in the banner XD

My favorite Azurite Exclusive trinkets are the Crystal Umbreon and the Crystal Tear.

As for the Subway, I like it but I don't have good Battling Pokemon yet. XD
They either have High IV's for the most important stats (like Sp. Att and Spd for a Houndoom) but a nature that lowers one of said important stats or The right Nature but low IVs in those stats.

I like the idea of user-created trainers. I suck at battling and most of my pokemon have bad IVs (especially shinies), but there need to be some easier ones, right? I'll probably remake my trainers from the games (regular pokemon since I haven't finished any of the shiny teams yet), and some of my OCs. If I can come up with battle quotes, that is.

EDIT: I've hatched 8 shinies for Azurite now. Do you think I can get another Roggenrola?

They completely crushed me... I'm not a good battler so yeah xD Managed to defeat their >spoiler< but then >spoiler< showed up and destroyed my whole team xD

Anyway, I'm almost done with my banner. Yay c: The fact that the size requirement was so small and the width was greater than the lenght didn't really help me but I managed to somewhat squeeze the pokemon inside the banner ^^

And I'm kinda scared to battle the new NPC, lol. I have trouble beating all Professor Cypress teams and ??? every now and then. It's mostly when I rush through battles, though.

Surprisingly, I was able to beat the new NPC on the first try. My Ferrothorn that singlehandedly kills all of Cypress and ??? was totally useless, but my other five Pokemon managed to wear it down.

Also, has anyone noticed Cypress and ???'s AIs acting differently than usual? I just battled them and they kept switching back-and-forth on me, without attacking in between switches. It's almost like they weren't even trying. (My Ferrothorn had +6 Def and Sp. Def with Leftovers, so I guess they were trying to switch to something that could damage it, but since nothing could, they just kept switching to something else? I dunno.)

Hahaha that happened to me too! That's actually how I won some of the battles against them lol. And it was the same for me. It usually happens after I either boost my Pokemon's Defense of Special Defense.

I managed to beat them on my first try with most of my team still intact, but I have to say I was a good bit surprised.
And @pumpkinking0192 I have noticed that they've started off with different Pokemon than they have usually started off with in the past few days. However, I haven't noticed any significant changes in when they switch, as there are certain ones that still keep switching as I set up.

EDIT: 2nd attempt was a success, but they did use one or two different ones from usual.

Also, for those having trouble with the new NPC, this is my team:

Like... obviously switch out in-case of a disadvantage, but I've beaten them 5/6 times now. 4 wins using that team (I used a preset team before) so it works. You don't have to but it's there if you'd like to

Now for my blue shinies, seeing as everyone but me have done so xp which I'll do tomorrow because I'm leaving my laptop for the night <_>

Well, I found a strategy with the New NPC using some of my less-used BT Pokes that has worked over several battles with them and seems to be stable, which makes me glad. I was worried that I would have to rely on chance for a little while there.
In other news, I've started learning the basics to splicing and recoloring sprites, and I made this for myself:
So, how does it look? Next up is a certain Sunkern if that helps some of you figure out who this pic is supposed to represent.

Though at least the Magnemite have finally hit Level 90 so it should only take about a day or two to get them to 100.

Well, among other splicings that I've done today, I thought about about making an Azuknight splice, and this is what I came up with:
It's a "sword and shield" kind of knight that uses parts from Blue Shinies (such as certain ones that Sam and Hayley would squee over~).
Bonus Points for anyone who can guess all the Shinies used (not really, but just for S&Gs ).

Yay, my first banner is done! Sam actually allowed it to be 3 banners to fit all Pokemon in. And they'll be up as soon as Sam puts them up. Which is probably as soon as he finishes his and I finish all the banners. c: Here goes the full art of the Pokemon.

Our mighty knight Latios (he's in the first and second banner) who was supposed to be holding a sword.. But look at his fingers! There's no way he can hold anything with that hand, he kept dropping the sword by accident!

And the Shiny Starmie, that represents the Azurite affinity... Who's not in the first banner, only on the second and third.

Edit: It'll actually be two banners.. The second one will have Starmie and something else... so the banners won't have repeated Pokemon. ^^

Welp, it's decided. We'll be having a Dress-up contest! Bearing in mind, we won't be having contests very often, 'cause I'd like to keep my rarity 10 supply and I don't really want to be doing ribbons again like in SLR xD

First place: Rarity 10
Second Place: Rarity 9
Third Place: Rarity 8

If there's a tie for First Place, two people will get a Rarity 10 and the 3rd person will get a rarity 9. If second and third tie then 1st will get a rarity 10 and the joint placers will get a rarity 9 each. I'll update the contest section in the first post!

Just got mine done. I really like the story behind the dress-up (aside from the fact that the idea just hit me like a truck when I was taking a look through the classified blue pokemon list)~
I just hope that there's no trouble viewing it correctly, as I seemed to have some odd technical difficulties while creating it. :/

Having an affinity shiny race sounds good, but, based on the last couple hunts/races, I likely won't be doing very well on account of how long and how many eggs it takes compared to my opponents...

Also, I noticed two things. The first is, in every Legendary Trio, there is a blue-colored Pokemon, and in their shiny form, they still have a blue/bluish/tint of blue color, but except for one who becomes pink when shiny.

And second, I also noticed that in Keldeo's other form, the color of the three feather-like thing (I don't know how it's called) on the top of its head represents the three affinity (green - malachite, orange - wulfenite, blue - azurite). I like noticing things, that is why I came up with those two things.

Yeah but when I saw the feathers I thought of virizion cobalion and terrakion represented the green blue and orange colored feathers (respectively of course) and yeah I like noticing things too...it just takes me a little while ;-;

Perhaps, but when you look at both regular and shiny Res. forms, you'll notice that the rightmost feather matches Keldeo's hair instead of Cobalion's. However, the leftmost feather seems to follow Virizion's pattern. The middle feather doesn't seem to change at all, though.

Aha. Needless to say I got plenty of sleep. Normal sleep for Sam is about... 5 hours? I got about 8 (would've been longer until my dad spam phoned me to see if my grasshoppers had come [he really could've just sent a fricking text])

It increases dynamically based on how much it's filled each time it hits critical mass. Before the new site was opened to everybody, it was somewhere in the ~1.5M range, I think... right after the new site opened, it was well in excess of 3M, and now I think it's even higher.


Sort of, but not quite. I wouldn't say it "was increased", so to speak, since that makes it sound like somebody increased it; actually, it just changes on its own, based on how high it gets filled. Big Bidoof has confirmed that he hasn't touched the algorithm at all since way back when it was the Mystery Counter in 2009.

If we want to activate it several times in a row, yes. But the amount needed does go down by a tiny bit every day that it isn't activated, which is why it's usually reasonable to expect it to be activated at least once every week or two.

Keep breeding pairs at the same level and use a destiny knot to maximise their happiness with each other. I'd say they'll breed more eggs at a time, so more chance of a shiny.

To my knowledge nobody knows, but with my roggenmorpha/ditto pair I get one every day, sometimes two, and two gigamorph is more likely to breed one than one gigamorph with a ditto.

As I mentioned, I'd guess that the closer your Pokemon are to each other, the more chance of an egg. Of course this could purely be because if they are closer, they breed more eggs at a time, and have a higher chance of breeding at each breeding time.

What I'm doing for Roggenmorpha is that I got 2, so I did a Ditto x Roggenmorpha for a male (since they were both female) and then breeding the male with the other female.
Right now, I'm leveling up my male so that it's at a close level with my female.

I was trying to get high IV Pokemon for the Poke Hunt, and this little guy came up after... 10-15 eggs? SURPRISE! Surprise shinies are always fun~ And he's male, yay!

It is rare to find a Roggenmorpha in shelter, as of now. But I think, as time goes by, there will be lots of Roggenmorpha in the Shelter/Safari Zone. I was even planning on releasing my self-bred Roggenmorpha hunt fails.

On GPX+ news, I'm doing well with releasing my legendaries. Cresselia is my third most released Pokemon ever.

Is anyone else finding the scavenger hunt to be a little harder than what it used to be? Before, it was usually a variety and sometimes having to level to level 2 or something ridiculous, and now it seems to be a bit...more challenging. It's not a bad thing, but it seems to be rather consistent these past few days.

I think they're random. I haven't seen anyone with an EXP All yet, but there are some people who got a Battle Expansion in fewer than 100 wins, and others who have 500+ wins and no Battle Expansions yet.

I enjoy the harder tasks myself. We have had those three tasks a few days ago though that required quite high levels (68-72). I wonder if mods edited it to chose from above a certain number to add a bit of a challenge or if it is simple a coincidence.

If anything, I'd say that the scavenger hunts are somewhat linked with the new site being available to everyone now. And there seems to be all three bits to consider now (type, colour, nature, level). Before, they were occasionally two. I do believe something has been altered behind the scenes to make the rewards more worthwhile. In any case, it's reached the point I don't think that it's a big coincidence. Plus I always did think the Prize Points were more generous here than the SWSH,

I've obtained a few vitamins myself, but I don't do the Subway a lot since I know it clogs up people's friend recorder stuff. My streak goes to about 18 and then it suddenly throws the hardest player there is XD Still working on the best team on my own though...

Aha. Over the months I've gradually depleted my stockpile. It's really my fault but hey, day outs are fun, right? >.> I should cut back on that actually but whatevz. Heheh, thank you. But I have to find a male one, now. First I wanted a Shiny Gallade, so I hunted it, and I got a female, but since I wanted a Shiny Gardevoir too, that was fine. Then I hunted it again and got the male, so I was happy. Then, I decided to go for Hatching Insanity, so I started another hunt. I got another female ( ) so I decided to go for the whole set. I wanted a male to round it up... and I got her.

I think I'll put her in the next exchange, whenever that happens. I suppose the more genderfails I get the more Pokémon I have to exchange.
