Pokemon... is it really the ultimate strategy game?
Yes i think it is because think of it this way:
You have to totally diferent battle modes
you have 400+ pokemon divided in 16(or 18 i don't know for sure) types each with it's weakness and strongness
hundreds of diferent moves
dozens of itens etc...
diferent training methods

All this combined make countelless diferent teams and even more ways to counter them

I want to know if you agree with me ,if there other things that i forgot to mention in it, and if you think there are other games that compare to it in terms of strategy alone?

Pokemon is the ultimate game of luck/mindgames, not strategy. It's comparable more to a cross between Poker and a (turn-based?) fighting game.

Having that said, of the 400+ (well, over 600 now), only about 40-50 are reliably viable assuming they aren't banned.

yeah at when i wrote that post i didnt know about starcraft, dota etc... so yeah looking back nowadays i was talking about things i didnt know anything about.

However I still believe that Pokemon is a very deep game, which surprised a couple years ago when I started to take gaming more seriously, and i think that i'm not wrong in saying that from all the old school jrpg's with menu combat and all of that nonsense is one of the better ones and among the most commercially successful ones.
(No Final Fantasy is not good anymore and anyone that thinks its good is deluding themselves)
