How does it work?

• In true Halloween style, hatch some spooky Pokémon!
• All Pokémon from the list below will have a chance of hatching with Coins! #squadghouls
• Collect enough Coins to exchange it for some awesome frightening prizes!
• Check your Inventory to see how much Coins you've collected so far!
  They can be spent until the 30th of November at 11:55pm EST (site reset).
• The event will start on the 22nd of October at 11:55pm EST (site reset), and will run for two weeks - it ends on the 5th of November at 11:55pm EST (site reset).
• The Halloween candies that are used to feed Pokémon as berry replacements will also run until the 5th of November. Bone appétit!

• Be careful! A scary new egg might appear in your party at 4 p.m. server time on the 31st of October!
  Make sure to leave a party space open, if you're brave enough!

There's a wicked new event system in place!

• Now all Administrators will be able to start events like this one, without needing a Root Administrator. Fangtastic!
• You might've noticed while reading the points above: events like these will all use the same 'currency' (Coins), instead of a custom one every time (like the Halloween Candy or Easter Eggs).
• Last year's earned Halloween Candy will not be taken away, and can still be spent.
  (For people with only a couple of points left: Zerxer will soon add Repels to the old prize list, to be exchanged for 1 Halloween Candy.)
• Every event, everyone will start out with 0 Coins. Coins can be spent until a set, announced moment after the event.

Good luck , guys, I hope you all hatch at least one shiny and save up for the desired prize=3 It is a pity that our grabs count though, I think I'd save more if they wouldn't. I am nearing to zero grabs and I am not that good in the lab-hunting. But is it just meX) I think I won't be able to grab the biggest prize, but I might have enough for 300 coins worth egg=).

I like the new setup, but am a bit disappointed that the coins will reset every event. I don't see a problem with someone saving up for a year (or two, or more) to get one of the high-end prizes?

Otherwise this promises to be fun!

The prizes may always be different, and certain events may include brand new exclusive prizes (such as Spectrier from this event), so using your activity in an event from several months ago to immediately grab the brand new thing from this event just doesn't make sense to me.

Also the cost of recurring prizes may change, whether we're just trying to hone in on the right price, or if something about the event (duration, etc) makes tweaking the cost necessary.

If you think about the older style events, "currency" from those didn't rollover either, and users had to fight it out to be in the top ~10 of all users (for total amount earned) in order to win a top prize like the Sh. Legend Voucher Plus. And people would go several thousands of currency deep. So I think allowing everyone to purchase it now, at a much more attainable number, is already a big win.

Can we go beyond 1000 coins? I don't want to look at my coin counter at least before the 31st of October. I highly doubt I'll be getting that much, but still - I don't want to cap the amount and not be able to get more. Hypothetically more.

Yes -- and in fact, by sorting the Users list by the Coins statistic, you can see that some people have already gone beyond 1000!

Eh?! I've been saving up for the Sh. Legendary Voucher like my life depends on it, doing my best, as dedicated as can be, refreshing to see if my eggs are ready to hatch every free moment I've got, using up all my Shelter claims and then some over the weekend, but I'm not even among the Top 300! TT-TT Is 200 coins of effort really that paltry?
Well, I guess we wouldn't have that prize there if it was as impossible to get as I thought... I admire everyone's determination! It scares me a little. Good luck, folks!

EDIT 10/27: ACK. Must've sorted by the wrong statistic! I am actually within the Top 100! Still nowhere near my coin goal, but at least I have that going for me.

Yeah I have no idea how people do that. I'm gonna run out of shelter grabs. I wish in events that number didn't apply to eggs.

All these years and I had no idea interactions gave you Shelter grabs! In retrospect, that explains those few times I had more grabs than I remembered, or "must have accidentally grabbed something" and "forgot" that I was trying to keep it at a multiple of six. Whoops!

But ouch, those two low multiplier days really shot me in the foot, and the current lag is making things harder. >.O I can't make 500-600 more coins in thirty-six hours. I'll be lucky to get a plain Shiny Voucher at all. A Legendary one is almost totally out of the question...

Oh well, there's always next event! I'm already looking forward to it! This has been fun! I even got a Shiny Sandygast for my troubles.

https://forums.gpx.plus/index.php?showtopic=61729 I have no idea or inclination to test whether or not this has changed in the past 9 and a half years, but the short answer is that it takes 2943 interactions or 327 proper berry interactions, after which you will gain 1 Shelter grab per Shelter Pass you have purchased.

If that was tl:dr, 2943 interactions, prober berry clicks count ~9 times

The egg itself registers as uncommon, so I'm willing to bet once people start hatching theirs, they'll start breeding them and you'll be able to grab the offspring from the shelter.

Glad it's not just me then. I had decided to dedicate my entire weekend to the site, but despite doing so, I actually hatched less than I did last week, I suspect a good deal of that because of lag. Ah well.

I just noticed that morning! Hopefully the lag clears up. . . 200 in five days coins for a Novelty Voucher at least feels within reach! Got lucky there!
Alas, my lack of reading comprehension also means I missed the egg drop, but no harm done! I got one from the Shelter a couple hours after. :P

Not every egg does hatch with a coin, it's just highly likely. They definitely do give coins though as I've hatched several with coins.

Gah! I totally spaced on keeping the free space on Halloween because I was trying so hard to get to a certain # of coins. I doubt I'll make my favored goal, but I did secure enough for something I am excited for. Yay!

Is the new Pokémon breedable? How I hope so! Congrats to those who scored the super scary special eggie! And kudos to those of us who managed enough coins to go for the prize you were hoping for.

Thanks, Amberfunk. Before retiring for the night I just swapped my party and saw the new egg. Really looking forward to it hatching. I remember the first time that Pokémon jumped out at me in the game. It caught me off guard for sure! Can't wait to see the sprite of it.

Whoops, I knew it wouldn't hurt to wait until the event officially ends before buying prizes. . . Maybe I could've even reached 1000 coins, but hey, 800+ is still excellent and now I'm guaranteed a shiny Novelty, so no real loss! B)
Still, this event has been super fun and I'm looking forward to the next one(s)!

No, the event is long over. But it is likely the site will continue running similar events a handful of times a year, so you can earn coins for the next event whenever it comes around.

Totally understand if the holidays have everybody super busy but just wondering if there's an ETA for this to be added? It would also be great if Repels could be added to the Event shop proper for those with leftover points to spend.



Also wondering this, mostly because I'm waffling on what to spend my remaining points on and already have a Legend Voucher I could use if they'll be added.

Oh sweet! I'll keep checking my inventory for the Candy update so I can finally ditch those last few candies. XD So awesome to see it added to the Event Points shop.

BTW, it looks like Dawn Stones got added as well but they don't cost any points to buy? I just accidentally bought one for 0 coins. ^^;
