The following rules are for TM/Tutor/Egg Moves. Though you still need to request moves in this thread, these are the guidelines that I’ll be using. It may vary with other mods.

Level up moves are learned by level up.

Guidelines
Tier 1 moves: base power 0-40; one per pokemon per RP.

Tier 2: base power 45-90; Pokemon must be at Lvl. 25 or up to use, only 1 per character per RP.

Tier 3: base power 95 and up; Pokemon must be level 40 and up to use, only one per character every other RP.

Additional Guidelines

1. Note that “per character” means one move per human trainer. That is, only one of his/her pokemon can obtain that move in a particular RP.

2. For TM moves, characters should obtain a TM to teach the move. As for learning the move, I would treat it like on the movie The Matrix. There, the main character (Neo) downloaded a skill and immediately “knew kung fu”.

They (TMs) would be in the shape of a VR helmet or pair of goggled, or possibly a device that looks and acts like a retinal scanner. Or they can be kind of a VR machine that "trains" the pokemon. It's your call.
2G NOTE: We’re pretty open on how TMs are treated. Also, we’re treating HMs as natural abilities. You don’t need an HM to use the move outside of battle. To use in battle, follow the guidelines above.

3. Move tutor moves should be taught, but not necessarily by a move tutor. They can be learned from other pokemon , watching a pokemon perform the moves on TV, etc. Keep in mind that more training is required to master tutor moves than TMs.

4. For egg moves, they have to be compatible according to lineage. You may want to keep track of parents of each of your pokemon to make sure your particular pokemon can learn the move.

5. If your pokemon learns a move, mention it in the RP Grading post once the RP is finished. Try and keep track of these moves either in your profile, current levels post, or wiki.

6. These rules are NOT retroactive. That means if we already approved of something, you get to keep it.

7. These rules are subject to change. Keep an eye out on new posts here for any updates.

Multi-Generation Movesets

We’re allowing the use of moves across all game generations (R/B/Y, D/P/Pt/HG/SS, etc). That means if a pokemon learns a certain move in one gen and not the others, you can still use it. Also, if it learns a move at an earlier level in one game, you may use the earlier level.

Move requested: Sandstorm. I suppose it would be Tutor
Pokemon to be taught: Eevee
How will it learn the move?: Eevee uses Sand Attack by spinning it's tail and making a small dust storm. I want it to be a larger storm once and then Paul will keep trying to get Eevee to do it again and learn it over a couple RPs.
Notes: Like Sandstorm in the Anime, not the games.

Pokemon to be taught: Belle (Vulpix)
How will it learn the move?: Daniel will find an Overheat TM buried deep in the sand (Using the retinal scan idea) and will decide to let Belle learn an extremely powerful move.
Notes: Until she is level 35, using Overheat will exhaust her completely. So Daniel will only use it if they are in a bad situation.

Please do not double post, and please understand that after the recent events concerning moderators, there has been some slow down. I understand this request has been up for a while, and I have been deliberating it since I looked at it earlier this afternoon.

This move is an extremely powerful move, with a relatively small accuracy modifier to the negative. I would feel more comfortable with it if the move, when used before she is 40, made Belle faint (taking her out of the fight completely) and was less accurate besides, causing it to fail or fall short once in a while. Do this, and the move is accepted.

PS: The lowest level this can be learned by level up is 42.

Hmm... The way I was saying about the exhaustion would be enough to take her out of the battle completely hence the usage as a last resort move. But the occasional miss or fail would be fine with me.

How will it learn the move?: In the battle that occures between the Rebellion and Aqua vs. the Magmas in The Showdown at Shady Acres, Mankey is nearly down, but pulls up the skill to land a big attack on his opponent. He knew this move all along, but he never found inside himself until him and his trainer were threatened.
Notes: The father is an Arcanine.

How will it learn the move?:While Volgen jumps out of the way to avoid getting hit with an attack, he tries using ember. He twists so that he can land on his feet, and he jerks hard enough that the fire starts to rotate.

Things in Uprising have been altered so that egg moves are available upon hatching, though weaker and stronger depending upon the level, as you have suggested yourself. And so, approved. :P Unnecessarily.

How will it learn the move?: At the beginning of Reciting the Past, it is mentioned that Sera has already spent time training both of her Pokemon to learn new moves (her Pichu learning Helping Hand, and her Charmander learning Mud Slap). Neither move has currently been perfected, but during the practice battle against Richie, they show that their moves have been nearly mastered (though Mud Slap will not have proper accuracy while Helping Hand isn't as effective), but during a more serious battle later on, they will master their moves in order to win the match.
Notes: Again, the opening to the mentioned RP states that time had been spent prior to the events of the RP to train the new moves.

Also, given the recent announcement, TMs can be applied relatively early on, again so long as they're not used as instant IWIN buttons in a lower level fight.

How will it learn the move?: Egg Move, grandfather was Vigoroth, passed the move onto the father who passed both Counter and Agility down, if allowed.


I'm not entirely sure what's the stance on chained egg moves. If they're not allowed then disregard Counter as I'd prefer to get earlier access to Agility.
