Gardevoir Pokedex #: 282 Type: Psychic Bases: HP 68 ATK 65 DEF 65 SP. ATK 125 SP. DEF 110 SPD 80 Total: 513 Tier: Borderline Strengths: Fighting, Poison Weaknesses: Bug, Ghost, Dark No Effect Against: Dark Resistances: Fighting Abilities: Synchronize: When Gardevoir becomes Poisoned, Paralyzed, or Burned, the other Pokemon is also Poisoned, Paralyzed, or Burned. Does not work if the opponent's Pokemon is resistant to that status change. Trace: Gardevoir copies the opponent's ability. Trace is restored if Gardevoir is switched out. Sweeper Sets 1: Your everyday sweeper Gardevoir@Life Orb Modest [[Synchronize]] 252 Sp. Atk/252 Spd/6 HP Psychic Grass Knot/Energy Ball/Magical Leaf Thunderbolt/Focus Blast/Shadow Ball Toxic/Will O'Wisp/Thunder Wave Gardevoir has better coverage than Kazam in some situations because it learns TBolt and Will O'Wisp over Kazam. It's defenses are also better so it lasts longer except against CB Weavile. I recommend GKnot again for the same reason it fits on Zam: it kills TTar and bulky waters. Shadow Ball hits Azelf and Gengar, and maybe Spiritomb if you're lucky. Any status move is good here. 2: Choices, choices. Gardevoir@Choice Specs Modest [[Synchronize]] 252 Sp. Atk/252 Spd/6 HP Psychic Focus Blast Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball Grass Knot/Energy Ball Specs helps Gardevoir's attack power. You want to hit hard in this set, so you want all attack moves. This gives great coverage and high power to boot against everything not named Blissey. Wall Sets 3:Walled annoyer Gardevoir@Focus Sash Calm/Sassy [[Synchronize]] 252 Sp. Def/252 HP/6 Def Thunder Wave/Will O'Wisp/Toxic Thunder Wave/Will O'Wisp/Toxic Torment Psychic Two status moves help here because you annoy and wall at the same time. I suggest Will O'Wisp for one because nobody likes burn. >:) Torment prevents CB Weavile from hacking you with the same move and also prevents Subpunchers from cursing like crazy. 4: Just a wall Gardevoir@Focus Sash Calm [[Synchronize]] 252 Sp. Def/252 HP/6 Sp. Atk Light Screen Torment Psychic Reflect/Safeguard/Will O'Wisp Defense based here. Psychic is just there because we all need at least one attack. Annoyers 5: Multiple status sets R fun! Gardevoir@Focus Band Calm [[Synchronize]] 252 Sp. Def/126 Spd/126 HP/6 Def Toxic/Thunder Wave Will O'Wisp Skill Swap Psychic Basically your everyday annoyer. You don't need all three status inflicters, but be my guest if you want to. SS is there because you can really help 6: Hypnosis combos R fun too! Gardevoir@Life Orb Modest/Timid [[Synchronize]] 252 Spd/252 Sp. Atk/6 HP Hypnosis Dream Eater Nightmare Psychic Use this set sparingly because of Sleep Clause/Dark Types. However, it's great for recovery/attacking hard while your opponent is in dreamland. Other Options: From breeding, Gardevoir learns moves like Confuse Ray and Destiny Bond, so those are great in almost every moveset. Remember that WillOWisp is also a breed move. Counters: Weavile: Voir's low movepool makes Weavile that much more dangerous. So watch out. Metagross and Bronzong: Gardevoir has lower power than their defenses, but Will O'Wisp helps because they take damage while being Toxic-resistant. Blissey: Focus Punch is absent from Gardevoir's set, so Bliss is a whore here, especially with Aeromatherapy to eliminate your status infliction. TTar: Grass Knot helps here, but TTar is always a bitch because of its resistances. Final Thoughts: After writing this, I think Gardevoir is better than Kazam. But it's BL for a reason, because of it's poor pool. But it's still noteworthy because of it's rounded-out stats. -------------------- [align=center]I am the earth-mother, and you are all flops.

The Gardevoir moveset I use is:
Gardevoir@ Leftovers {Trace} Modest nature (+Sp. Attack, -Attack) EVs: 252 HP/ 200 Defense/ 58 Sp. Defense Psychic Wish Calm Mind Thunderbolt This set works best when a Sub is passed onto Gardevoir, but it can work well without it too. Calm Mind can boost it's Sp. Attack and Sp. Defense at once, making it a more potent threat, and stronger against Special Attacks at the same time. Wish can help heal up Gardy's damage, and Gardy can switch out to pass a Wish to a team-mate in need. Psychic and Thunderbolt make a good duo of attacks to sweep with, but what really makes Gardevoir shine is her rare ability, Trace. Trace can give Gardevoir wonderful opportunities to switch in that otherwise, it wouldn't have. It can switch into Water Absorb Pokemon using Surf (or another Water type attack), Volt Absorb Pokemon using an Electric attack, Flash Fire Pokemon using a Fire attack, Motor Drive Pokemon using an Electric attack, Intimidate Pokemon to Intimidate them, cutting the damage they'll do to her physically, which can be a big help, due to her low Defense stat, among many other abilities. Just thought I'd add something. =) -------------------- I don't have Wi-Fi, so please don't ask. =( ^This avatar made by Smythy. 8D |
