Pulling out her first aid kit, Regan immediately began to clean the blood on Zephyr's head. She set about performing the first aid in the midst of the battle, keeping Sophie in the periphery of her vision as the Togepi waddled about the battle.

She needed the battle to wrap up, and soon. The one Magma Elite on his own was proving to be a very difficult opponent, even given that he only had a Persian, a Yamask and a burned Sneasel.

"Illia, Protect!"

As the Noctowl rushed it with a move that could actually damage it, the floating ghost summoned up a protective screen that easily repelled the incoming attack. It appeared that the Magma agent was attempting to capitalize on the exhaustion of his prey, forcing the Noctowl into a stall-battle.

Meanwhile, the Persian screeched in surprise as the dark puppy sprang from the shadows. In response, the cat pokemon spun around, unleashing a Fury Swipes upon command, now that the Rhyhorn had been removed from the battle.

That left the most unfavourable match-up of Ria the Sneasel versus Sophie the Togepi. The Magma's mind raced around for options, seeing as it would've been much easier to double team one of Khezu's more viable opponents, but Sophie had proven to be something of a wild card in the battle.

As he looked at the Pokemon in their constantly shifting battles, Regan noted that he wasn't sure how to go about dealing with her little Togepi, which gave her an opening. Not a gambler by trade, she knew that Sophie possessed almost no offensive techniques worth using, so she opted to hope for the best:

"Sophie! Metronome!"

She hated using this move, considering its sheer unpredictability. While she applied some smelling salts to Zephyr to keep him awake (in case of concussion), she kept her eye on the Togepi's moving hands.

"Sari, come on out."

The Magma Elite did, in fact, have one more Pokemon up his sleeve. Regan's heart stopped as she turned to face him, looking at the small puffball pokemon that appeared in front of the Sneasel.

"Sophie stop!"

The Togepi ceased the metronom, the glow vanishing from her tiny nub arms. She trilled in surprise as she saw her old friend, the recently summoned Cleffa, and began to waddled towards it.

As it approached, the Sneasel, Ria, roughly shoved the Cleffa aside and landed a ferocious attack on the Togepi, sending her toppling backwards. Regan pulled out a pokeball, unwilling to see her old friend take any more damage in the fight. Unfortunately, it was a little too late, poor Sophie rolled over on the ground unconscious from the impact.

She retreated the Togepi to the pokeball, turning to the Magma Elite.

"You're vile. You're-"

"Save it, Dr. Chamuel." The agent shrugged nonchalantly. He recalled Sari, Regan's Cleffa, and prepared to issue another set of commands. He raised his eyebrow as his Sneasel teetered for a moment before dropping to the ground, succumbing to the burn that had essentially been inflicted by his own Pokemon.

Regan drew another pokeball from her belt, throwing it towards the man.

"New friend...get that pokeball!"

The oddly coloured Skitty burst from her ball, still a bit shaky from the battle earlier, but looking all the better from the brief treatment she'd gotten from Regan. Unquestionably, she threw herself at the man, her little claws raking some hits as the man flailed about to avoid the little kitten pokemon.

"You, boy." Regan snapped her head to Khezu, "Finish this battle already. Stop holding back!"

Whether he actually had been holding back, Regan didn't actually know. However, she figured it was the sort of thing that roused the battle spirit of any hotheaded teenager. She'd have time to be thankful later, but now, she needed him to fight harder than before.
