Attack on Titan/SNK is an anime started airing in April, and while there are currently only nine episodes, so far it's really excellent as far as anime goes. Since I'm bad at explaining things, have an excerpt from its Wikipedia article:

QUOTE(Wikipedia)
Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人 Shingeki no Kyojin) is 2013 anime series based on the manga by Hajime Isayama serialized in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. Set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by enormous walls due to the Titans, gigantic humanoid creatures who devour humans seemingly without reason. The story centers around Eren Jaeger and his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman, whose lives are changed forever after the appearance of a colossal titan brings about the destruction of their home and the death of their mother. Vowing revenge and to reclaim the world from the Titans, Eren and Mikasa join the Recon Corps, an elite group of soldiers who fight Titans outside the walls.

If action anime is your thing and you need something to watch for the summer, I highly recommend giving Attack on Titan a shot, as long as you don't mind quite a bit of blood and gore. The story is excellent and realistic (as in not cliched), the characters are great, the art and animation is gorgeous, and the action looks really really cool (which is a huge compliment coming from me, someone who usually finds a lot of action boring/uninteresting).

Still not convinced? Check out this trailer and also the series' opening theme to get a sense of what it's like.

And if you're already watching it, discuss!

I've heard a lot of this anime both from tumblr and my class, it does look interesting and unique. Though I don't like the atmosphere and this kind of battling, you know... soldiers wearing rusty armor, sand... eh, I think more modern stuff is nicer to look at ;~; but the art seems nice, so does the story, and some gore doesn't hurt (ironically). I'm definitely giving it a try if I don't have anything better to watch.

I watched all 25 episodes (Including 13.5). I was so pissed off when I saw that they didn't go to the basement. But hey, if they want to cliffhanger and make us wait until next year, I'm okay with that.

Besides, the anime was AWESOME.

Obviously, this is the best anime I've seen in a while. Only problem i have with it that it takes like a month for a new episode or chapter :/

My sister is OBSESSED with this animé! And I must admit that it's one of the few new animés to have caught my eye, though I haven't actually had time to start watching it. But I really must do.

Has anyone seen TeamFourStar's (on YouTube) abridged version of it?! Me and my boyfriend love the abridged episode, and I think it's this more than anything that makes us actually want to watch it xD

I have finally watched the first season of AoT.

And yeah, I'm hooked. I absolutely loved it. The fact that the next season isn't being released for so long makes me sad sad.gif Looks like I shall have to turn to the manga.

I watched this recently. It's okay, but the anime stereotypes that these characters are are just too prevalent for me to really enjoy.
