Deafening Silence

Backplot

Welcome to the year 2252, a time where humanity should be thriving due to insane levels of technology, and being the most dominant species on the face of the plant Earth, not to mention the fact that they have their Pokemon companions to help them whenever technology is simply not at hand. This is not the case however, in fact, it would probably be safe to say that Humanity is in the complete opposite state, they are essentially extinct, and it's their own damn fault...

After already going through two 'World Wars', one would think that humanity would have learnt their lesson by now, that conflict gets society nowhere, and just results in masses of pain and suffering, on both physical and emotional levels. Yet, as is always the result with humanity, two hundred years ago in the year 2052, conflict evolved from something that could have been settled simply with words, due to the ever increasing power lust of those that already have too much power to begin with. Corruption at it's finest...

This time however, the world could not brace itself for a planet sized war, due to the vast amounts of technology at the dispoal of the many world leaders and their armies, in particular nuclear weaponary. After only a month of constant warfare, almost three quarters of the planets population were wiped out, corpses of both humans and Pokemon littering the streets of the capital cities of every country. Despite the tragic sights, signs that the war was sensless, and heartfealt pleas from the vast majorities stop, war carried on, leading to the inevitable result...

While it is by no means confirmed, it would probably be safe to assume that humanity had been wiped out, well, as a species anyway, but that doesn't mean that everyone who was a human during this nuclear holocaust is dead, not by a longshot. Contrary to the common beliefs of the scientests at the present time, the radiation from the various nuclear weapons could in fact lead to drastic changes in a person's DNA, leading to equally drastic physical changes.

There is one mutation in particular that has been discovered to be relatively common, though calling this change a 'mutation' may not be a correct word, the word 'fusion' may justify these changes much better. Essentially, what these weapons have caused is for human DNA, to be fused a long with Pokemon DNA, creating some kind of hybrid creature with physical attributes resembling those of both humans, and the Pokemon of which their DNA has been fused with, ranging from things as miniscule as a change in hair colour, to the much more extreme growth of additional limbs.

While these hybrids may be the closest things to humans remaining on the face of the Earth, by no means does this mean that they are the last things left alive, not by a long shot. There are still many Pokemon still alive, remarkably including land dwelling Pokemon, but by no means are they the companions that humans knew them as all of those years ago, instead, they act like wild animals, because essentially that is what they now are, wild animals that need to fend for themselves by any means necessary, and if that means killing something so that they may eat it, then it will happen.

The State Of The Planet During The RP

Since it has been two hundred hundred years since war has broken out, aswell as the fact the the Nuclear Weapons used all used radioactive materials with relatively short half-lifes, a lot of Nuclear Radiation has stopped being emitted around the ruins which were once cities and towns, making some areas relatively livable, even if they are only ruins. However, it is worth noting that since two hundred years has passed, rather large amounts of vegetation have started to grow on the planet, large chunks of land which were once bustling cities now look like mossy rocks.

As for the previously mentioned 'hybrids', who now refer to each other as Gijinkas, they have not truly formed any societies as of yet, like cities and such, but they respect each other as beings on the same planet, in a similar way that the Pokemon respect each others existence, unless they happen to be enemies of course.

As far as a Gijinka's life is concerned, it is not too dissimilar from a present day (2010) humans life, but there are quite a few major changes, including a vastly decreased population. A few bits of technology have been recovered, such as those required to create clothes, but there is nothing as advanced as the likes of television or computers. Essentially, imagine a modern day life without electricty, along with a drastically reduced population, and you have the life of Gijinka's at the time of the RP.

Personality: Chloe has a short temper. She especially hates it when someone makes fun of her height. She likes to talk to people, anyone really. She even talks to herself mostly. She sometimes thinks outloud too, which is something she's trying to fix.

Chloe will do anything for anyone. Even if it puts her life in danger. She likes to help in anyway she can. She sort of is a daredevil, willing to take risks like stealing from other people. She likes to play her acoustic guitar, and sing quietly to herself. She has a very high pain tolerance.

Age: 17. Looks early 10.

Gijinka: Chatot

Appearance: Alexia is a short girl who looks much younger than she actually is. She stands at an even 5' and weighs around 110 pounds. One of her most notable features is her brightly colored hair; it is bright pink with platinum bangs. It, oddly enough, fits her quite well though. She tends to keep it up on the back of her head with exactly 23 hairpins. She also has beautiful, deep green eyes.

She wears a sleeveless pale teal and white hoodie with a pink heart on her stomach. Her arms also double as wings, which, of course, enables her to fly. The feathers on her wings are pale blue outside and yellow inside. She wears a black fingerless driving glove on her right hand so she doesn't hurt her hand while playing guitar. She wears nothing except a pale pink bra under her hoodie for comfort. She also keeps it zipped up to her chest, which shows a bit of cleavage.

For lower wear she has white shorts with pale teal stripes on each side. There's a hole right above her rear end to let her metronome-like black feathered tail come out. She usually wears white sneakers with very pale pink borders with no socks.

Personality: Almost never acting her age, Alexia is almost always happy and smiling. She is, quite frankly, dumb. She's a bit slow at times and can forget things easily. Never trust her for counting things, she has trouble with something as simple as counting, getting mixed up after 5. She knows she's not good with numbers though, so she often lets others do that kind of stuff, most often Maria.

Despite that, she's absurdely nice to pretty much everyone, always trying to cheer up someone. If she can be of help, she'll help, no matter how insignificant it is. She befriends people easily and learns to know them well very quickly most of the time, allowing her to let them alone or stay with them depending on the situation.

She's pretty sensitive too. Enough to start crying when one of her friends is in a really bad situation. It also shows that she really does care about those she befriends. She's not above doing either awkward things or things she hates to make someone happy. She seems to know how each of her friends can be cheered up and knows what to say in the case her friends become sad or angry. She has the habit of worrying way too much, which may lead her to making stupid and bold choices out of fear. It's a bit hard to calm her down when she's like that.

She seems almost impossible to anger, onlyt getting mildly annoyed at the worst. However, like everyone, she does have a few pet peeves. First of all, anyone who tries to steal or break her guitar immediately get on her bad side. It's a bit understandable since it's her most prized belonging. People who repeatedly take advantage of her obliviousness also get on her very rarely seen bad side.

When angered, Alexia becomes relatively violent and downright scary at times. She'll often start ranting, often by yelling, until she calms down, sometimes beating whoever angered her into submission or until she calms down. Also, she also becomes a bit snobby when she's angry. Depending on what happens during those small outbursts, she may start crying after it or start sulking and being generally silent and grumpy. This only lasts for a short while though, luckily.

Obviously, Alexia has a passion for music. She is often seen singing, humming or tapping a beat on her thighs when walking. Said to have a voice worthy of an angel, she has a magnificient voice, and this isn't exaggerating. Her voice is so soothing that she can easily sing anyone to sleep. It is also very powerful. She can sustain a single note for over two minutes if she wants.

Extra: While she tells Maria everything, there is one thing that she hasn't revealed to her and it's quite understandable. This "secret", if you may call it that, is that she's in fact lesbian. She is very good at hiding it, although she may have some slight slip-ups at times. She's a truly talented guitarist and she carries a pink and white acoustic guitar with birds and music notes drawn on it. She can imitate any sounds she hears and can make sounds while speaking. She cannot swim and often forgets this.


Name: Maria Farner

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Gijinka: Noctowl

Appearance: Maria, despite being a Noctowl, wears a lot of navy blue clothes. She's 5'3", which is quite short, and weighs around 114 pounds, although it may go up to over 180 pounds if she eats too much candy. Due to this, Alexia has to keep her in check and she's slowly learning to control herself. Her hair is navy blue, like most of her outfit, and she keeps it rather short. She also has bright amber eyes. Despite being a Noctowl, she has very bad vision and needs to wear rather thick glasses. She can't see a thing without them.

She wears a simple navy blue tanktop and a blue tie with the pi symbol all over it. Her arms, like Alexia's, also double as wings. However, her feathers are dark brown outside and tan inside, as opposed to her best friend's more colorful wings. Her wings are also bigger than Alexia's.

She wears navy blue pinstripe pants with two brown upside down triangles on the knees. There's a hole over her rear end to let her brown wedge-shaped tail come out. She wears brown sneakers with navy blue stripes and she has black socks.

Personality: Maria is usually upbeat and cheerful, often having a wide grin on her face. She's a fun person to be around, usually making jokes or making witty comments. She's good at cheering up people and helps whenever she can. Maria, most of the time, is a very silly girl who enjoys making people laugh.

Unlike Alexia, her best friend, she's really intelligent and is often the one doing the thinking out of the two. She knows her friend has a hard time with thinking things out and often tries to help her, often unsuccessfully since explaining things is hard for her. She does have her dumb moments though, just like Alexia has her smart moments. She's very resourceful and perceptive too. She's adept with many languages, being able to understand, identify and speak a multitude of them.

Almost always seen with her best friend, the two know each other completely, knowing when one of them is lying and such. Any slight hint of anger or sadness is immediately noticed by either of the two, helping them to know when to help the other. They are very close and know how to work together in any situation.

She's a bit shy around people she doesn't know but makes that up with being outgoing once befriended. Despite being smart, she tends to trust people too easily, sometimes ending up being used by people. Speaking in front of a very large crowd makes her nervous too.

Instead of getting sad over something, she tries to help and make things better. There are times where she will cry though. When sad, she becomes strangely negative for a while, which is weird considering her positive behavior. She'll apologise when she feels better though.

She gets angry more often than Alexia. However, she's way less violent and harsh than her, often simply yelling at whoever angered her before calming down and apologising. If the same person angers her multiple times though, she'll get seriously pissed off and hold a grudge against that person. She tends to walk away to calm down in those situations.

Similarly to the pink and platinum-haired guitarist, she can sing fairly well. However, because she's nervous when in front of a crowd, she sticks with backing vocals, preferring not to sing at all. If she's alone with Alexia though, she doesn't mind singing, although she doesn't admit that she has a beautiful voice even though Alexia's is way better.

She's known for making radical and extreme plans when trying to help someone, whether it be to use their fears against them, fake her own death or even hurting them. However, it's always with good intentions, so she may become sad if the one she helped becomes angry at her. She's also known to read a lot and she's addicted to candy. Strangely, she is scared of being tickled.

Even though she's quite smart, she is an absolutely horrible liar. She also always falls for the same trick; which is to say something that would make her lie false. That way, she'll ask how you could've done that, literally admitting that she lied. She also often seems to be the one who is picked on for some reason, although she doesn't really mind.

Extra: She always has a katana with her, which she can use fairly well. She found it in the debris of an ancient city. She can play the guitar very well, even carrying an acoustic one. She seems to suffer from insomnia too, so she stays up all night reading more often than not. When she has to think a lot, she rotates her head 180°.

I see no reason as to why a Gijinka couldn't create a dominance over Pokemon, but you would have to explain how the dominance came to be really.

DA - A bit more detail would have been nice, but you're accepted none the less. Just remember her guitar has to acoustic, due to the lack of electricity.

Dark - Accepted *feels the need to make a relatively attractive straight female character to mess around with Alexia*

Name: Christopher Kurai
Gender: Male
Age: 17 (About a week or so until his eighteenth birthday)
Gijinka: Mightyena
Appearance: Reference Image

Rather fitting for a Mightyena Gijinka, Chris wears predominantly grey clothing, and has long black hair, the back of which being significantly longer than the rest. Chris' ears stick out of the top of his head through this hair, and generally lie in a somewhat relaxed position, only standing fully upright when he is either alerted by something, or is intently listening for something. He posses eyes of a bold red colour, and his face is marked with two black upside down triangles directly under his eyes, which often mistaken for something such as war paint, despite the fact that they are as natural as a birth mark. He stands at about 5'10'', and weighs around 136 pounds.

On the teen's upper body you will find a v-neck long sleeved grey t-shirt like piece of clothing, which is fastened up by a collection of black cord like fastenings. On top of this he wears the remains of a black jacket that used to be his fathers, which is horribly torn and now barely even resembles a jacket, and a pair of black fingerless gloves which extend to form a bracer like appendage, covering the boys forearm completely, but stopping just before his elbow. Chris also practically always has bandages around his hands, due to the inevitable fights he gets into rather frequently.

Covering Chris' lower body are a pair of simple grey pants, fastened around his waist by an equally simple black leather belt with a steel buckle. These pants have a hole positioned just at the top of Flynn's rear end, which his long, black tail (identical to a Mightyena's) passes through comfortably. His footwear is nothing fancy either, just a simple pair of black boots. However, he has a bandage wrapped around the two shoes, the bandages running over the bridge of either foot. This is done so that when Chris is walking, his shoes move as little as possible around his feet, creating as little noise as possible.

Personality: Despite being a Mightyena Gijinka, Chris is usually rather calm and collective, often trying to help others when the opportunity prevents itself. He can, however, suddenly turn violent due to the aggressive nature of the Pokemon whose DNA he is fused with, sometimes even without a trigger. While Chris' rather violent mood swings can normally be contained be constantly making attempts to calm him down, if he gets a taste for blood, the only way to prevent him ripping someones head off is to find some method of rendering him unconscious, then hoping that he is sane again once he wakes up.

Since Chris has been alone for the a lot of his life (his father died hunting when he Chris 14, and his mother died giving birth to him) he is relatively used to being alone, and has learnt to appreciate solitude. This does not mean that he despises company however; in fact he more than welcomes it. Being a Mightyena Gijinka in times such as these, where anyone could potentially be a person that sees you as their prey, does not make being sociable so easy a lot of the time however.

Extra: Due to the kind of Gijinka Chris is, he has a heightened sense of smell and hearing, as well as perfect human vision, and a rather athletic body, making him an ideal hunter. As for the actual weapons that are at Chris' disposal when he is hunting, there is a rather elaborate dagger that he has learnt to use rather well since inheriting it from his father, his jet black finger and toe nails are also more like claws when they are left to grow naturally (not shown by the image), but Chris tends to make an effort of keeping them trimmed like normal nails, allbiet a little rough as he tends to use his father's dagger to do that. He also has a rather powerful jaw with amazingly sharp teeth, which would not got in the way if someone decided to, well, properly kiss him. When Chris is 'hunting', he becomes completely oblivious to anything that happens in the world around him, which can lead to some rather awkward situations...

Upon your first glimpse of Eliza, you will notice that she is a beautiful girl, there are no two ways about it. In the past, this has caused her many problems, but there is little that she can do about it, after all, it’s not like she would willingly make herself visibly disgusting, who would?

She stands at about 5’08’’, and weighs around 100 pounds, he weight compared to her height reflecting just how slender her figure is. Eliza’s eyes are a rather deep shade of red, which form a rather beautiful contrast with her elegant, long bold green hair, of which her bangs fall not to short off the rest of her hair, while the main length is still relatively longer. She normally has the left hand side of her hair moved behind her ear, with her bangs shifted to the light, hiding her right eye and giving her a somewhat mystical appearance.

Covering the majority of Eliza’s body is a one-piece pearl-white dress, which has a second skirt attached to the inside of it which is an identical shade of green to her hair, this second layer being visible through a part in her white dress between the lower half of her legs. This dress also has sleeves which extend down her arms, each sleeve draped by some sort of additional baggy green sleeve, which is again an identical shade of green to her hair. These ‘additional sleeves’ are attached together by a piece of identically coloured material, forming one single piece of clothing. Underneath these sleeves are also a pair of red bracers, which reach halfway up her forearm, as well as over the backs of her hands. She also has a rather ‘supportive’ piece of material attached to her dress, which she has no choice to wear otherwise it would leave her being somewhat revealed due to a rather inconveniently placed hole in her dress.

Personality: A true pacifist, Eliza will never willingly do anything to hurt someone either physically or emotionally, even if it means hurting herself in the process. This does not mean that would refuse to defend herself however, she would simply create a barrier around herself, similar to the Pokemon moves Protect, Light Screen, and Reflect.

As well as being a pacifist, Eliza is also a rather shy girl, not really the one for approaching people she doesn’t know for simple conversation. If someone talks to her however, she will reply to the person rather willingly, albeit somewhat timidly. Eliza also gets embarrassed and upset rather easily, very often taking any comment that was meant to simply tease her rather bluntly, a sign of which being her becoming even more quiet than usual.

The one emotion that Eliza never shows however is anger, which she has never allowed herself to feel ever since a certain event in her past, which also happens to be the reason she is a pacifist, and is also the reason why she is not with any of her family members, despite the fact that they are still alive.

Extra: Due to her pacifistic nature, Eliza downright refuses to eat any meat, or anything that can develop into an animal. Simply put, she is thoroughly vegetarian and eats only the berries that grow off of their respective plants, explaining her rather thin, elegant body structure.

Also, she is extremely adapt in the use of her psychic abilities, as one would expect from a Gardevoir Gijinka, but she only ever uses them when she has to, or when it would save her a relatively large amount of physical exertion.

Appearance: x
Nine tails of blonde fluff, two blonde, velvet, ears, and a burning soul. In the wind her short, blonde hair radiates like silk. She is indeed a blonde beauty. Her ninetales counterpart has blessed Tohane with not only soft fur/hair but ageless skin. Her human counter parts perscribes she stands at about 5'6" and approximately weighs the average for her height. However, this is what one sees from a distance. Get closer and you'll begin to see the finer features of this firey beauty.

Even though she is of fire's descent her eyes and need to accesorize seem to oppose this. Her eyes seem to be like true windows to her soul. Even in the night her eyes sparkle radiantly like ice crystals. If it was possible one might be too afraid to hold them. They look like glass, fragile. Her pupils often appear to be 'frozen over'. However, this is not a sign of blindness. Specifically these hazel pupils are a strong symbol of her true self. Moving down from the eyes, her nose is small and slightly pointed. Her lips are thin but somehow remain defined by their natural pink gloss. Not a single freckle or spot taints her face. Moving down from the facial features she seems to put extreme pride in her appearance.

Overall she is well tanned but most of her skin is hidden by her blue kimono. Due to the need to be flexible she cut her ice kinomo to above her knees. She wears traditional Asian sandals which provide her with the balance and support she needs to escape enemies and quickly deliver an onslaught of her own. Her sharp nails are delicately painted ice blue to match the rest of her attire. She wears a black choker with a single ice blue droplet hanging from it along with a matching anklet.

Regardless of this surreal description of her beauty, her flaws all lie within her personality and skill. Such beauty always comes with a price and is told within the eyes in her case.

Personality:
Tohane may have been blessed with beauty since birth but her personality seems to imperfectly reflect it. This Ninetales hybrid is extremely isolated and unsacrificing. She conducts her life according to ideals set out by war times. It is better to be feared than loved and she takes this motto to heart. She even treats fellow kin with such a cold disposition. She acts as if nothing moves her or she has little to care for. Since she chooses to be isolated she speaks very little and often sneers when approached.

When she does talk it is usually only in times when it is absolutely necessary. She tries to explain something using the quickest way and shortest words. She often sells people short by refraining from using such an extensive vocabulary. This has eventually lead Tohane with some difficulty to articulate some of her deep and complex thoughts (this would only be in cases where she has developed an extremely close bond with someone; something deeper than any bond with a family member or friend).

Like many who choose to be isolated she prefers to stay around crowds but out in the sunlight. The warmth of the sun puts the warmth of a smile to shame in her eyes. It was this very reason Tohane had lost the darkness in her pupils. It was a sign from the heavens that she had lost faith in her fellow species. It is considered a flaw, especially to her family members.

In some circumstances where she is forced to defend and retaliate she is often described as wind. She is extremely quiet, a cold and ruthless pain-inflictor. She attacks swiftly and even often tries to break bones or cause burns. Anything to have her enemy paralyzed by pain allows her to escape, a true desire of her's within a fight. She never tries to cause fatal injuries unless she has no choice. As much as she hates the lives of everyone else she can not bring it upon herself to kill another.

Now, refering back to that extremely close bond with another. This can be love in many forms. Deep down she is still a human being to an extent. She desires the need to belong and to be loved. If someone is patience enough to deal with her cold ways she will eventually turn warm. She will be more talkitive and even smile. It is unknown what else she will due if faced with this unbreakable bond but it is something she is always secretly longing for.

Extra:
When travelling through the desolate areas of this war torn world Tohane is often seen being followed by two companions, if they can be called companions. On her right is the majestic and elegant Beyonette, a Glaceon. On her left is the aggressive and calculating Haku, an Umbreon. She met two at very different times in her life which probably a huge and significant affect on her personality.

She met Beyonette, Beyo for short, when she was approximately ten years old. Tohane was just learning the extent of her fire powers in an extremely mountainous terrain. She travelled away from her pack on the hunt for something. She wanted to prove she was as strong as she exclaimed she was. However, this quickly turned for the worst when faced with a giant Abomasnow. As hot tempered as she was she could not bring herself to the temperature she needed to take it down.

It wasn't till a shiny blue light suddenly came and took down the Abomasnow. When the small figure stopped glowing it revealed itself to be a Glaceon. The Glaceon stared right at her, disappointed with her inability to take down the Abomasnow with ease. It had pained Tohane's heart knowing that even a simple-minded Pokemon could easily get the best of her. She glared and pointed at it.

"You may be cute but I'll take you down!"She growled, stomping off . She had trained for an entire year before seeking the Glaceon again. This was a time where Tohane actually had confidence mind you. She was still naive. When she finally went back she found out that the Glaceon had came prepared herself.

Unlike Tohane who had trained for an entire year the Glaceon had called for a back-up. She had called upon an Umbreon who surely would strike fear into the hearts of many. Perhaps the Glaceon was trying to disuade the Ninetales hybrid for daring to mess with fear. Was she afraid? If this Glaceon could speak she probably would have agreed. She had a feeling that this young child would succeed only because she had the will to do so.

As predicted the three battled. Neither willing to give into each other. There were attacks, guards, evasions and tricks on both sides. Even against two Tohane found the courage and the temperature to hold her own. She was silent and always predicting. It wasn't until her tiny body reached it's maximum temperature did she deliver Heat Wave. It had sorched both opponenets, putting both Umbreon and Glaceon on the edge of defeat and perhaps even something more severe.

Both laid there, awaiting their demise. However, to their surprise Tohane did no such thing. She stood there for a moment and turned away. "I won't even dare kill you. I just wanted...to prove my worth." Was all she said. She hugged herself tightly in front of them. They could see her face but both assumed she had been crying. "Just to atleast someone." She explained, "Anyone!" She then stood her ground and walked off.

She had indeed proved her worth to them and from hence forth the trio had travelled together.

Now...why does Tohane suddenly take this cold disposition is beyond even their understanding. They have taken it in stride. Now why is she truly like this? She will never share and will be up to you to find out for yourselves. Besides, everyone needs a little mystery right?

EDIT: Real life is calling. I gotta go, but I'll have a profile up by tomorrow afternoon at the latest.
