this question was posted on the forums in a pokemon union im in on Gamespot, so i thought why not ask the same question here
one evolution thats been on my mind would be Grimer evolving into Muk. there is no change, it just gets bigger. seriously people, theres plenty of evolutions, pick anything and say why you think its weird/makes no sense whatsoever

Personally I didn't feel anything for the Dragonair -> Dragonite evo, either, until I saw the Mewtwo movie - the messenger Dragonite was 10 kinds of cute and awsome (zooooooom across the ocean!)
I will forever think that Magikarp -> Gyarados is the most awesome evo ever, from the legend of how the carp that, after much effort, manages to jump over the Dragon Gate evolves into a dragon itself.
Spoink to Grumpig, another one. I sometimes forget Grumpig even exists.
I remember seeing Nosepass evolve, and the first thing I thought was, Oh GOD, it got even uglier.

to be honest, if i knew Nosepass was gonna into to Probopass, it just shouldnt have been created, i wouldve just preffered Nosepass getting real moving arms and legs

I don't understand the point of rhyperior.
It doesn't look like Rhyhorn, or Rhydon at all.

Rhyperior is a weird one and i just thought of another: Magnezone. how does three conjoined Magnemite (Magneton) evolve into that?

I really dislike Rhyperior and Magnezone. Rhydon and Magnemite are already completely awesome, why add more evolutions?

Honestly, these all seem like pointless and useless evolutions to me. They all had perfectly good evolutions before, why do more need to be added?

I still don't get how or why Eevee becomes Leafeon by leveling up near the Moss Rock in Eterna Forest. What's the point of the Leaf Stone then. Also how does Graveler into Golem is kind of wtf for me. Seriously it becomes this big rock, then becomes this rock turtle thing.

The first time I play a pokemon game, I like all the pokemon and evolutions to be a secret to me. When my Treeko evolved to Grovyle, I assumed it would become even more fast and graceful looking the next time it evolved.

I'd like to see just one thread where people stop bashing the Gen4 evolutions of Gen1. We've all heard it, there's no need to repeat yourself....
Anyway, I don't really consider anything (well, nothing more wierd than a fish shooting electricity at you anyway lol).
I guess if I had to push the boat out I would say the Shroomish -> Breloom, I don't know why lol, it just sort of appears to grow a body arms and it's stubby little feet extend and grow feet and the shroomish himself just turns into a head/helmet.

How can a blue dragon that has a snake like body evolve into a giant orange dragon with wings. I think Dragonite is cool but the jump from Dragonair to Dragonite is just, very weird.

Pretty much every evolution added in later gens to first gen pokemon. There's a few exceptions, I quite like Pichu and a few others, but Rhyperior? Magnezone? The first gen was a completely different style to the rest, it can do without being butchered.

Piloswine to Mamoswine. It's not that I'm hating on those evolutions (Probopass is actually one of my favorite pokemon) But that mkaes no sense to me. It went from being a heavily furred boar-thing to a giant whatever you call it... o_O

almost all 4th gen evos of 1-3 gen pokemon (not weavile, dusknoir or eeveelutions, but the eevee-evos have strange calls, before only espeon sounded different) shiny charmeleon to s charzard, i mean it turns from yellow to black, and surskit into that thing it turns into

there are a lot of evolutions that make little to no sense to me, but the ones that just strike me as odd are some of the old Pokemon evolving..example, Jinx, Electebuzz, Magmar, and such...those made me wonder
But personally thing the oddest one is Togekiss....what the heck? As if Togetic wasn't weird enough
I also (and don't hate me) think Gallade is a bit out of place...

Magmar turning into Magmortar. I mean seriously! Magby is a tiny fireduck, then it turns into a bigger fireduck, and then that fireduck turns into some kind of beaver with one of its hands replaced with a cannon. What really happened there?!?
Also I think they should have made Dragonairs evolution graceful instead of just.... really fat.... and yellow. Dragonair still counts as one of the most beautiful pokemon in my opinion.

There are a lot of evos I find weird:
Remoraid > Octillery
Clamperl > Huntail/Gorebyss
Snorunt > Glalie/Froslass
Magikarp > Gyarados (though it is indeed awesome)
Feebas > Milotic (though again, I <3 this)
Kirlia > Gallade
Dragonair > Dragonite
Gloom > Bellossom

Actually, there is a story of a carp that climbed a waterfall under its own power, and the gods granted it the strength of a dragon. However, it abused this power, and the gods revoked its dragon status.
Hence the story of Magikarp and Gyarados, and why Gyarados is not a Dragon-type.

Dragonair -> Dragonite.. Dragonite is slim, blue, and beautiful, and then it just... fails. Dragonite is just a random smiling yellow dragon that looks nothing like its prevos o.O
I also don't see how Feebas changes into Milotic, but hey, I love milotic so I wont complain xD

Ralts -> Kirlia (emo boy to dancing teenager)
Togepi -> Togekiss (wtf)
Wartortle -> Blastoise ( a turtle with cannons)
Goldeen -> Seaking (gender-bender)
Nincada -> Shedinja (ninja ghost? o.O)
Nuzleaf -> Shiftry
Snorunt -> Glalie/Froslass
Barboach -> Whiscash
Chingling -> (a bell becomes a gumball machine with a tail)

Dratini to Dragonair is understandable, but Dragonite totally ruined Dragonair's beauty after evolution. And it changed colour too? O,o

I'm not saying I don't like these, but they're just simply different from their previous form.
Dragonair --> Dragonite (lul, this hasn't been said on the topic before)
Feebas --> Miltoic (An ugly fish became something quite pretty)
Magmar --> Magmortar (Magmar was an ugly pokemon to being with, but it became something quite odd. Magmortar is one of my favorites 
)
Haunter --> Genger (I found the whole evo line to be very different from another)
Togetic --> Togekiss (Togekiss is cute, but I don't know what it is)

Magikarp --> Gyarados makes perfect sense if you know the reason WHY that evolution happens. It's based on a decently known story about a carp that climbed a waterfall, was given dragon status because of it, abused its new power, and thus had its power taken away.
Dragonair --> Dragonite bothers me. Because Dragonair is just SO much more beautiful than Dragonite.
And yes, Togekiss is weird. But I pose this:
Togepi --> Togetic --> Togekiss
THE WHOLE LINE IS BIZARRE. What the heck IS Togetic anyway?!
Furthermore, there is this evolution:
Trapinch --> Vibrava
An ant lion becomes a dragonfly? What? It makes no sense to me. I like Flygon and all, but his evolutionary line makes no sense. It makes about as much sense as Shelgon does in the Bagon line. (Shelgon is WEIRD yo.)

Lickitung to Lickilicky. Wasn't so much of an evolution, was it? I think Lickilicky was unnecessary to begin with, but the way it looks, it could have been pulled off better as a baby form.

My weirdest one is..
Snorunt into Froslass
Its evolution requires a dawn stone which is too bright and possibly a tad too warm for Snorunt and Froslass is an Ice/Ghost type pokemon...so..
During the evolution..Poor Snorunt died during the process...
