Flamer's 5th Gen Sandstorm Team  Hippowdon - Set Up Leftovers Impish Sandstream 252 HP /152 Def /104 SpD Moves Stealth Rock Slack Off Earthquake Roar Comments Sets up the sandstorm. Sets up stealth rock. Afterwards is becomes a wall, abliet one who can pack a punch with Earthquake. Slack Off's there for recovery. Roar was a lot more useful in 4th gen were you didn't see your opponents team before the battle, but its still good for racking up stealth rock and sandstorm damage, particularly on Flying types and levitators who'd aviod Earthquake.  Excadrill - Physical Sweeper Air Ballon Jolly Sand Rush 4 HP /252 Atk /252 Spe Moves Swords Dance Earthquake Rock Slide Rapid Spin Comments Battling wise, this guy was by far the best part of Gen V for me. An absolute dream for a sandstorm team. Sand Rush boosts his speed to 604, allowing him to out pace pretty much everything. Swords Dance gets him up to 738 attack, which combined with STAB Earthquake sets him up perfectly for the sweep. Rock Slide compliments Earthquake nicely, hitting Flying and Bug types for super effective and grass neutral, giving Excadrill full coverage. Rapid spin support is always useful, particularly for Zapdos. I've used Jolly over Adamant, simply because I feel outspeeding other Excadrill is more important than the slightly higher attack adamant would give.  Tyranitar - Back up streamer Babiri Berry Jolly Sand Stream 4 HP /252 Atk /252 Spe Moves Dragon Dance Stone Edge Fire Punch Crunch Comments With Drought and Drizzle now accessible outside of ubers, being able to put sandstorm back into play is crucial, as a permentant weather change would completly destroy my team. Hence Tyranitar being here. In contrast to Hippowdon, he runs a highly offensive moveset that can hit a lot of types for super effective. This allows him to take the lead in certain situations were Hippowdon's walling wouldn't be so effective, (eg a team with lots of Grass types). After one Dragon Dance Tyranitar will be set to sweep. Stone Edge provides the main, if slightly inaccuarte STAB, with Crunch being the reliable back up. Fire Punch takes care of Scizor, Skarmory and Ferrothorn, who can all be a problem in sandstorms  Zapdos - Cover/Special Sweeper Expert Belt Timid Pressure 4 Def /252 SpA /252 Spe Moves Thunderbolt Heat Wave Hidden Power (Ice) Roost Comments Zapdos provides the crucial cover against Water/Grass Pokemon who could cause big problems for the team, (with the noteable exception of Seismitoad and Swapert). It also plays the roll of a back-up special sweeper, with Ice Hidden Power allowing him to hit Dragons for super effective and protecting it from Gliscor. Roost make the most of Zapdos' defensive stats  Virizion - Special Sweeper Big Root Timid Justified 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Moves Calm Mind Focus Blast Giga Drain Hidden Power (Ice) Comments This is one of my favourite Pokemon to come out of the 5th Gen. Thankfully, its a also a great battler, (unlike so many of my faves from previous gens). With 108 base speed, it paces most of OU, making it a great choice for my primary special sweeper. Calm mind gives it a much needed boost to its special attack, (which for a special sweeper isn't anything to boast about) and improves its already impressive special defense. Giga Drain makes the most of this defense, acting in combination with the Big Root as a healing move and a powerful STAB at once. Focus Blast provides the other STAB and deals with Blissey and Snorlax, two Pokemon Zapdos can't handle. Not too happy about its lack of accuracy, but to be honest I can't really see any alternative here. Hidden Power Ice provides cover against flying Pokemon that would otherwise destroy it.  Lucario - Physical Sweeper Life Orb Adamant Steadfast 252 Atk /4 SpD /252 Spe Moves Swords Dance Close Combat ExtremeSpeed Crunch Comments Very similar set up to Excadrill. The moveset combination gives him maxium coverage. ExtremeSpeed allows him to get in ahead of faster Pokemon if needs be. This team could be improved a lot. You really don't need both TTar and Hippowdon on the same team. I would recommend replacing Hippowdon with Scizor, one of the best revenge killers in the game and a great Pokemon in general. Also, you need a more solid defensive core. Why not use Ferrothorn? I'm sure you know how trolly he is. I would use him over Virizion.
