So, what book did you last read (re-reading also counts)? Was it any good? If so, share with the rest of us!
The last book I read was called Elantris, by Brandon Sanderson; it's a standalone fantasy, and his first published novel. I thought it was excellent, and very original (it kept me guessing most of the time). It dragged in a few places, but overall a very good read, and more people should read it!
I was reading Animorphs, the second book (The Visitor). The series is really good. I used to be obsessed with it, but now I just read it once in awhile (I finished the whole series a few years ago).
From a Buick 8, by Stephen King. I've got three books started ATM that I alternate between when I want to read something. It's like, a good way to decide what I want to do at night. XD
Right now I'm reading:
Marley and Me by John Grogan
The Tommyknockers by Stephen King
The Stand by Stephen King.
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. It was my summer reading for school. I did kind of enjoy it, though. It really had some impressive writing in it.
I'm currently reading Great Expectations for class. The last book I completely read was the first Harry Potter book. Love them.
I sort of abandoned it when school started at the end of August, but I'm in the middle of The Sorceress, book 3 of the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series. If you're into magic and action, the whole series is fantastic.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Amazing, of course.
the road
everyone needs to read the road. do it. :E
post-apocalyptic bleak goodness. n__n
or ender's game.
My last book I read was The Long Patrol by Brian Jacques. It was one of the Redwall series that I really enjoyed, I'm reading Triss right now and I'm about halfway done.
I recently started re-reading the Harry Potter series... but so far I have only finished the Chamber of Secrets (book 2 for you ignorant ones) and also a sound-book of Deathly Hollows (yes, 2 and 6.... but it helped me notice a few things about the Chamber of Secrets I hadn't noticed before) but right now I'm reading Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox XD
The Goose Girl, which is awesome feminist fairy-tale YA fantasy, hugely recommended, and the Small Business Guide to E-Marketing, which is more... practical and useful. I've started Enna Burning, which is the sequel to The Goose Girl.
"The Book of Tea" by Kakuzo Okakura.
I've always been interested in Eastern tea procedures and traditions, and I love the many healing benefits a simple cup can provide.
This book also qualifies as the best homework assignment ever since I had to read it for a class.
Okay finished Triss about an hour ago and am now reading Salamandastron. I read waaaaay too fast.
Disco Bloodbath - James St. James
Awesome telling of the infamous murder committed by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Alig during the Club Kid disco drug scene in late 1980s and early 1990s. They made a movie of it called 'Party Monsters' which was just as amazing as the book.
I finished The Princess Bride two days ago, and it was fantastic. As good, if not better, than the movie, but I saw the movie first and it has more sentimental value for me.
The Golden Compass - by whoever wrote The Golden Compass (I think it's called The Northern Lights in the UK)
The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks >.>..... I was bored, leave me alone.
I'm currently reading Cell by Stephan King.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Gah, stupid Americans and changing its title) was the last one I finished reading. I am in the middle of reading Twilight and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Haven't read them for a while though. The two largest books I've ever read were The Loop and Watership Down (awesome book, you should read it).
I just finished Lord of the Flies last night. Good book, but the way he writes it makes it confusing sometimes, so I have to guess who is saying what. Also, his attempt at slang usage is a bit weird. But sucks to that too.
The end/near end was spoiled for me though, so I managed to catch a lot of the foreshadowing. Amazing how much you don't catch until you know what to expect.
Does Neil Gaiman's Books of Magic count?
the last book of harry potter
and that was.... good ^^
but it is many months ago xD
Child Thief by Brom. It's a darker version of Peter Pan and I couldn't put it down until I was done.
The Bell Jar, by Sylivia Plath.
I loved it, yet it can be very dark at times.
'The Soul Of All Great Designs' by Neil Bissoondath.
Too much sex, and a pretty weird ending, but alright overall.
Needful Things by Stephen King. One of my favourite by him, next to It that is. This is the 5th time I've read it this year, and it took me two days >.>.... I need to stop reading so fast.
Brisingr and now a warriors, seekers and others.
Other than text for class, probably Wuthering Heights which is one of my all-time favorites.
Just finished V for Vendetta (the graphic novel). Now re-reading The Life of Pi.
I just finshed Dead until Dark by Charlaine Harris. I have soo many books to read!!! I really should stop purchasing them until Ive finshed them all!
I finished The Child Thief by Brom earlier this evening. It's incredible. It's actually my new favorite book.
It's an adaptation of the classic Peter Pan, and if you thought Peter looked like a freakin' ninja in the Disney movie, your mind will be blown.
However, regardless of how glad I am to have finished that amazing book, I'm sad... because I have nothing else to read at the moment...
Lastest series I'm working on: Maximum Ride by James Patterson. Highly intertaining. I read Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, The Final Warning, and MAX: A Maximum Ride Novel in 6 hours. Couldn't put them down once I started. Plus I'm a really fast reader.
Francine Rivers "Redeeming Love"..she is an Awesome inspiration writer!
Just got done reading 1984 for class. It messed me up in the head and I will never read it again!
On a happier note, I am rereading the Nightlife series by Rob Thurman. If your interested in Action Novel with some monsters in it action. Read them. They are damn good books. The first is Nightlife, the second is Moonshine, the third is Madhouse and the fourth is Deathwish. I dont know if there are going to be more but I hope so.
Ender's Shadow by Orson Scott Card
I read Ender's Game in high school, so I wanted to read some of the sequels. This one was essentially the same plot, but written from the prospective of Bean, who was...well, Ender's shadow (not literally :P)
Just today I finished "For One More Day" by Mitch Albom.
It had me crying during lunch... >.>;
It's an amazing book. I really don't know what else to say about it, but Albom is just amazing. I think that everyone should read at least one of his works...
Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire by Amanda Foreman
Now reading Virolution by Frank Ryan, about the role of viruses in the evolution of all life... really interesting
Origins by Diana Abu-Jaber.
It was a great book. The ending wasn't great, but it was still a very good read.
I read The Devil Wears Prada. What was the point of Christian in the whole book, really? I haven't watched the movie so I don't know what Andrea and Christian do in it. I laughed at Andrea's misery just like everyone else.
Hm... I think it was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Read it for fun in one day when I went to the beach a couple months back... I need to finish reading The Fountainhead, which was my summer read I only got about halfway through.
I just finished Loamhedge by Brian Jaques. It's the *counts on fingers* 16th book in the Redwall series.
The Pokémon Adventures vol. 2 manga, I think. Appropriate!
I'm currently reading 'Thirteen reasons why' by Jay Asher. It's great! We're going to read it in school after the holidays (yes, you read right. In Germany, we've only got summer holidays for six weeks but two weeks 'autumn holidays' after roughly eight weeks of school.). After that, I'm planning to read 'Hexagon' by Marc Kayser, the sequel to the German book 'Trias'. I'm pretty sure neither has been published in other languages...
Before that, I have to admit I read 'Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith' by Matthew Stover, since I saw a quote and was instantly in love with the writing style. I'm normally not a fan of science-fiction, but it was still amazing...
I can't remember what, precisely, I just finished, so I'll give the last five, in no particular order, because I read them all around the same time:
Singularity's Ring by Paul Melko, which is a really nifty sci-fi about a particular group of people known as a pod, who operate and are considered to be one person, which is highly normal in their society, while singletons are the technical outcasts
My umpteen-millionth rereading of the Harper Hall books Dragonsong and Dragonsinger, by Anne McCaffrey. I'm actually about to start on the third (also for the umpteen-millionth time). I really need to get new copies of these, or maybe the old hardcover omnibus, just to have it look pretty on my bookshelf, 'cause these poor books are almost literally falling apart, I've read them so much.
Ranger's Apprentice: The Siege of Macindaw, by John Flanagan. I don't care what people say, I may be in my twenties, but a well-written book is always good, even if it's directed for a much younger audience. Besides, most of my favorite series' have female main characters. It's nice to have one that's male.
Shade's Children, by Garth Nix. Another sci-fi, this one post-apocalyptic. It was kind of disturbing in some ways, and very graphic, but I love his writing style. I swear, he could write a textbook about how to draw right angles and I think I'd be enthralled.
And last, but not least, Michelle Sagara's Cast in Silence. And I hate that I have to wait another year before the next installment of that series. It's fantastic, and I think the main character is so wonderfully three-dimensional that she could walk out of the book and pass as a normal human being ... because that's exactly what she is, and it's great.
The last book that I read was Warbreaker, by Brandon Sanderson. It was amazing.
The last book I read - Breaking Dawn....right after Twilight, Eclipse and New Moon
Reading - Eragon
Terrry Pratchett, Unseen Academicals. It was even more disappointing than Making Money - it was cluttered, and who cares about soccer anyway? Even the wizards were nowhere near as funny as usual, and both Ridcully and the former Dean seemed OOC. He's really been off his game since the brilliant Thud!
Last book I read was... Distant Waves, a book about the Titanic. Not the best, right now waiting to read Tentacles, the sequel to cryptid Hunters.
Last book I read was... Distant Waves, a book about the Titanic. Not the best, right now waiting to read Tentacles, the sequel to cryptid Hunters.
Novels by Naomi Novik and on the Nonfiction scene a book titled 'Rats' which basically goes through the history of rats vs mankind ect. It's a rather interesting read.
i just finished Halo: Fall of Reach.
Two actually, but I am not finished yet.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
and Tom Clancy's Net Force
I recently finished Huckleberry Finn for my English class. Not the greatest book I've ever read, but it was alright.
A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle, the first Sherlock Holmes novel.
HP book 7.
=)
One of the Harry Potter books... Half-Blood Prince, I think.
I really need to catch up on my reading, though; I started "The Amber Spyglass" and "War and Piece", and would really like to finish those off -_-
The Forest of Hands and Teeth by... something Ryan. It was an ok book, but I did not like the ending (and the fact that the main girl had to kill her true love since he turned into a zombie-thing)...
Just finished reading The Crucible by Arther Miller in class. In my opinion it was a great play and I loved it. We'll be reading A Streetcar named Desire next.
xxxHolic vl. 8 -w-'
Currently finishing up the whole series..
The last books I finished reading was my mom's copy of The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. It was okay, but the resolution needed work. In context, it should not have happened immediately. But oh well.
"Do androids dream of electric sheep?" by Philip K. Dick.
I put off reading it for ages, even though I'm a fan pf PKD, because I thought Blade Runner sucked big time, and it's based on "Sheep?". But it turns out it was a very loose adaptation, and the book is deep, subtle, meaningful, scary, complex, moving and short - everything Blade Runner is not.
It also has a better title.
I <3 PKD. I recommend his books to anyone who likes intelligent, creative scifi with mindbogglingly clever premises. Even if they do tend to be turned into movies like "Total Recall" and "Paycheck".
The princess diaries. It's good to read.
diary of the wimpy kid. Dog days
Warriors: Into The Wild by: Erin Hunter
Not a novel-type book but A Brief History of Time.
Last novel-ish one though, as I'm more of a sciency person, would have to be Pride and Prejudice.
Just finished re-reading A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin, the first in his A Song of Ice and Fire series. They're making the pilot for A Game of Thrones on HBO currently, so I'm re-reading the whole series.
The last book i read was a book i had to read for english at school called "To Kill a Mockingbird". Im sure many people have read this book ot at least heard of it. It is quite a good book.
I'm actually Re-reading my Anita Blake series and just finished up with Micah.
I last read the 3rd Naruto Manga book by Masashi Kishimoto. =3
EPIC win if I do say so myself. =D
The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown
I have the 12th Wheel of Time book on my iPod as an audio book... only on chapter 28 I think...
Just finished Terrry Pratchett's Night Watch. Yay.
Just finished Terrry Pratchett's Night Watch. Yay.
Just finished Cujo by Stephen King and the Regulators by the previuos author's pseudonym and I'm now working on Insomnia, also by Stephen King.
Just finished Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber. Now I'm reading The Fifth Elephant by Terry Pratchett.
Finished reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams for the fourth time a few weeks ago. Now I'm working on reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand... I'm gonna be occupied with this one for a while.
Just finished Insomnia by Stephen King and I'm now working on the Resident Evil novel series by S.D Perry
Finished Hero by Perry Moore a few days ago. Currently reading The Dedalus Book of Finnish Fantasy.
Chicken Soup for the Soul
Okay, finished the Resident Evil books but S.D. Perry and I'm almost halfway through Eulalia! by Brian Jacques. Gods I read too fast...
Was bored and read 6 of the SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS in about two days. Don't ask me why. Seriously.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
While I read it at school, I seriously had ten people tell me it was really good. It did end up being really good - now I just need the sequel. =P
Finished The Dedalus Book of Finnish Fantasy and Italian Shoes by Henning Mankell. Currently reading Hash by Torgny Lindgren. I'm on a bit of a Nordic fiction kick.
Sadly twilight T-T it was actually pretty good.
The Last Olympian.
Part of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
I believe that this one is the best so far.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, for the third time. You can never have enough HP!
Also, I recently finished Mossflower by Brian Jacques! I'm growing fonder of that series by the book, I think.
Okay, just finished numerous Stephen King books including: Pet Semetary, Night Shift, Skeleton Crew and It. I'm now working on 'Salem's Lot.
Oh, I forget I also finished reading Doomwyte by Brian Jaques for the second time. I can't wait until February when The Sable Quean comes out, I really need to read the newest Redwall book. It's becoming an obsession now.
I just finished reading Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith, which was pretty good despite the plot being rather predictable. However, it wasn't nearly as good as Gorky Park, despite what everyone says.
At the moment I'm reading Pnin by Vladimir Nabokov, and Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, which should last me a little while. They're both rather wordy.
The last book I read was Book of the Dead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.
It was the sequel to Dance of Death, so the storyline wouldn't make much sense if I explained it.
In the book, Special Agent Pendergast is being pursued by his brother, Diogenes who is a brilliant, insane criminal. It's a good book. I recommend reading as many Pendergast novels you can.
The most recent book I read is Stephen King's Gunslinger.
A couple, actually, though nothing new.
"Hunted" by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. It's the 5th in the House of Night series. The story isn't actually that great, but I've become attached to the series for some reason.
"The Green Man: Tales from the Mythic Forest." It's a collection of short stories and poems about treemen, fae, shapeshifters, etc, with a very informative introduction. Rather inspiring for my own writing.
Just finished reading the entire Redwall series over the Christmas break and I'm now working on Castaways of the Flying Dutchman also by Brian Jacques. It's really good, I didn't think I'd like it at first, but I do.
Right now I'm reading Stephen King's The Dead Zone. I just finiiiished Stephen King's Needful Things. I'm not usually a Stephen King fan, but I've run out of my own books for now and I've had to raid my sister's collection.
Memoirs of a Geisha. I read it ONLY because I was forced to as it was the coverage of the whole test.
Reaction about the book: Err.. meh? At least I finished it? D=
I read How to Be an Everyday Philanthropist .
It mentions 330 ways to make a difference and all of the organizations mentioned inside are registered 501©(3) charities-meaning not-for-profit.
Finished rereading "tokyo/the devil of nanking" by Mo Hayder.. it's good if you like quite quirky/disturbing [..somewhere between the two] novels about human nature and the disfiguration of it in the struggle for power and denial of history and past mistakes.
also, hostesses.
Currently sort-of-reading frankie boyle's autobiography, which was a birthday present. It's quite like his stand up so far, hur.
I finished the Hardy Boys Galaxy x trilogy for the second time. The end of the third book is great.
Yeah, I know I'm past the target age, but I grew up with the Hardy Boys, and I'm not giving them up!
Sing Down the Moon by Scott O'Dell. It's a pretty amazing book. It confused me at some parts, though, and ultimately made me pretty sad. BAWWW.
Frankie Boyle's My Shit Life So Far.
Heh.
Best autobiography ever.
"The Surrogate" by Tania Carver.
It's not for the faint hearted, and it can be pretty morbid at times.
(It is based around the hunt for a serial killer, though - so it's understandable.)
'Fallen' by Lauren Kate
It was a very good book in my opinion. The plot was interesting, and the events that happened in the plot would motivate me to continue reading and find out what happens next. Such a shame the next book in the series don't come out until September, because I really want to know what happens next ;-;
The last book I read was Watership Down, for the 100th time I'm sure xD
By a Lady by Amanda Elyot. Ehh it was alright, kinda skimmed through to the end tho.
Just Another Judgement Day by Simon R Green (the latest in the Nightide series, a very fun series, IMO)
Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett (for the hundreth time, heh)
and Right now I'm working on Forever Odd by Dean Koontz. Then I have The Science of Discworld series to go through, and the rest of the Odd books I got for Christmas...
Seventeen: Trauma-Rama.
It was pretty ridiculous but entertaining enough to finish.
Life of Pi
the end was kinda predictable.
Empire Falls by Richard Russo
I had to read it for school, but it was a pretty good book. The only I did not like about it was the ending, it was just a little unnecessary for a book like that.
i just got done reading the horsemistress saga by toby bishop
its really good about a farm girl who is accidentally bonded to a winged horse when only girls from noble family are bonded. she also has to stop a mad duke who hates women and hates the fact that only women can flay the winged horse. so the duke sets out to try to bring the women especially the farm girl down an crate a line of winged horses for men to fly on.
i think its a really good sires to read
The God Engines by John Scalzi. He's a fantastic SF author, probably my favorite. Anyhow, this book was his attempt to dabble in fantasy. It came out blended strongly with his SF style and content. It was unique and unpredictable and I thouroughly enjoyed it. Great read
Spent the last two days reading and finishing Bitterwood and Dragonforge. I enjoyed them far more than I thought I would. Definitely plan to get more of the series.
Finished reading 'I Am America (And So Can You!)' by Stephen Colbert. (Yes Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report.)
I have to say I find it pretty funny, and I really don't read books that often.
Really just a book about his views on various things, such as the media and so forth....
I just finished 'Sir Thursday' from the Keys to the Kingdom series.
The last book I read was 'Max' By James Patterson. An 'OK' read, but I'm not a huge fan of the environmentalism ham-fisted into my face while reading. :\
I just finished the Mossflower by Brian Jacques for about the bazillionth time. I just love the Redwall series, and the new book just came out! I can't wait to get it!
Star wars revenge of the sith............I've already read it...but I was bored...lol
a flight manual primer on the Space Shuttle. I figure I can get one, Surplus.
I just finished reading the 5th book in The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, The Fires of Heaven, and am now starting the 6th book Lord of Chaos.
I finished Heist Society by Ally Carter just this morning. I have Sweethearts by Sara Zarr on my desk right now and I'm going to read it soon.
I just finished One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey.
The Stranger by Albert Camus and I'm about to start reading Brave New World and The Divine Comedy.
Independence Day by Richard Ford.
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. I'm starting This Lullaby by her now. (:
The Sable Quean (yes that is the correct spelling) by Brian Jacques, another one of his Redwall books. It's really good, and I got in hardcover for a fairly decent price since it only came out not even a week ago.
In the middle of rereading The Outstretched Shadow by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory. One of the few times I like unicorns, as the ones in here are deliciously snarky.
Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk. It was amazing =].
Star Girl. I'm in the process of reading The Rag and Bone Shop which is by far one of the best books I've read in my life.
I just finished The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, figured I might as well read the book if I won't get to watch the movie. Now I'm reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. After that I plan on reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
Just got done reading the 4th installment of the Percy Jackson series: The Battle of the Labyrinth. Like all the other books in the Percy Jackson series, this one had my addicted.
Now I'm reading the Last Olympian
Last book I read was the Artemis Fowl Files... though Im nearly finished with The Opal Deception.
The last book I read was for class, and my English class right now is about children's literature, so it's Alice in Wonderland. Before that, it was Peter Pan and Treasure Island. Kind of makes me look a little childish, I guess? But it's been fun.
If assigned reading doesn't count, I don't know what the last book I read was--probably Making Money by Terry Pratchet. Right now I'm reading Dark Banquet: Blood and the Curious Lives of Blood-Feeding Creatures, but I'm only halfway through.
Looks like everyone's reading some awesome books--I read the Artemis Fowl books over Christmas break (stole them from my little sister ) and The Lovely Bones and The Truth About Forever are some of my all-time favorites. And Haunted was really gross, but I had to finish it because it was assigned reading for me last semester--and it was well-written, so it could have been a lot worse. XD
The last book I read is not a real book per se, it's "The World According to Clarkson" by Jeremy Clarkson, it's a collection of columns he wrote while working for the Sunday Times. They ran from 7 January 2001 until 14 December 2003. The topics were varied, each one usually based on either a big or trivial news story from the week. About eight were written as Clarkson travelled around Europe. All of the articles are written with humour but often with some serious undertone.
The last book a read was something on how to write a Mystery. Right now, I'm reading 'Outcast of Redwall' by Brian Jacques.
I read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I wanted to begin from the start for the second time.
It's as good as ever
Moonwalk by Micheal Jackson
It was actually pretty good, if you like him I recommend it.
well havent quite finished yet but in the middle of reading Danties Inferno and its amazing
I'm currently reading Sword Of The Samurai.
Just finished for the third time in my life the whole Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. It's about owls and the reason I read them again is because their coming up with a movie of this. I think it's called Legend of the Guardians.
My second favorite book series. So yeah, if they mess it up in the movies, Imma go slit myself :|
Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austin. Re-read because I owe the library a lot of fines so I've been stuck re-reading.
I'm rereading Eldest, the second book in the Eragon series.
Trying to finish the book, Of Mice and Men, because it's for my English class.
I just finished reading the 11th book in the cirque du freak series.
The Kane Chronicles; The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
Slawter by Darren Shan (Very scary)
Umm...what was the last thing I read? (I read a TON, often about 3000 pages a week during the school year, much more during the summer.) Let's see.....I think it was Jane Eyre. Or was it In Too Deep?
The Shining by Stephen King. My friend practically shoved it up my nose in her eagerness to get me to read it. xD
Hate that Cat by Sharon Creech. For all peotry lovers
Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett. (Well technically I've been re-reading books after this one, but that's the last *NEW* book I've read and with the way I read books, it counts.)
Another Fine Myth.
Lord of the Rings
Chicano - Richard Vasquez
Really good story.
Finished Fahrenheit 451 a couple days ago.
Was pretty good, I think the ending could've been better though.
I just finished the whole Artemis Fowl Series
Orchid by Jayce Castle
I picked this book up out of the blue. It's a paranormal romance. No aliens or ghosts, though the setting is on a futuristic planet called St. Helens. Everyone is born a psion, or otherwise people with psychic powers of some sort. I thought it was pretty good. The book has a different concept on psychics. I find the names of inventions silly though, like coff-tea, jelly-ice, vio-piano (unless these things actually exist irl...consider me ignorant).
Survival.
...
I forget who the author is.
One foot in the Grave - Jeaniene Frost
eh, suppose to be a guilty pleasure book but it's not as good as I thought it would be. e_e
Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. It's a really good [but very detailed] book in an alternate timeline in Japan, where students are forced to battle for their lives with their school mates and only allow one student to survive, in a hope to battle overpopulation and to keep the goverment's force of power in check to provide fear to the public.
the last book i read was kingdomhearts 2
House Of Dark Shadows by Robert Liparulo.
I was tricked by the cover of thinking it was a ghost story, but I still really enjoyed it.
The last book I finished was Deception Point by Dan Brown. It was the last of his works I had yet to read. Out of all of them, it was probably my least favourite though. Too much politics.
The last book I read was I AM OZZY by Ozzy Osbourne. It's really interesting to read about Ozzy's life. It's both amazing and funny. x3
Well, I stopped reading free willingly quite a while ago.
However, now that I've finished my English Literature course, we've moved onto English Language, which means reading and stuff.
Miss brought out books and stuff for us to choose, and there was one which caught my eye.
Life As We Knew It - Susan Pfeffer
It's actually really, really good. If you're into all this End Of The World stuff as I am
The Prince Of Mist by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
I read this is one sitting and ADORED it. It had plenty of chills and a heart wrenching ending. I'm suggesting it to those out there who like mystery books.
H.I.V.E by Mark Walden.
I finished it a few minutes ago, and I enjoyed every minute I spent reading it. I love the twisted idea of a school for villains. I am most defiantly getting the second book.
LIES by Michael Grant
Last book was some story about two brother who were raised the same but one is in jail for life and the other is a famous writer......i forgot the name but it was a pretty good book.
Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.
I related to the main character in a lot of ways, but overall, the book made me depressed. It had a good ending, but it was just a sad story. =/
Last book I've read was Thirteen Reasons. Didn't finish it yet but I borrowed it from the library, so I still have some time to finish it.
I'm reading 1984 for school. I hate it. My parents won't let me use SparkNotes either.
The Last Symbol by Dan Brown
Warriors The Power of Three: Outcast. By Erin Hunter. It's an excellent series I recommend reading it.
I just finished reading the last book of the Twilight series... And before you get judgmental, I only read it because my friend explained its shit plot and something about a baby vampire eating it's way out of Bella and then Jacob falls in love with it or something like that. I didn't believe her so she lent me the book and yeah. She wasn't making it up.
Gamer Girl written by Mari Mancusi. I adored that book, probably because I related to over half of it.
I just finished the second Scrapped Princess novel. I'll be reading the third soon & may end up picking up the anime to see if the story follows the books. Also in my stack of things to read are the first 2 "Twelve Kingdoms" books, 10 or so Telos Doctor Who novellas, all of the new series DW books and the Torchwood novels.
A Series of Unfortunate Events. I'm rereading some of my favorites. I really like that series. Especially Violet. <3
The last book i read was "The Splendour Falls" By Rosemary Clement-Moore.
It stgarted a bit Twilighty so i had doubts but after the beginning it got really good
I would definitely suggest reading it
the last book i (re)read was the third book in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle (it was supposed to be a trilogy but im not complaining about getting a fourth to read ) BRISINGR!!!! awesome book, the first book is Eragon, the second is Eldest, all awesome books!
Skulduggery Pleasant by Darek Landy its fun its thrilling not to mention WB wants to make it a movie and the author is writhing the script!
Clash of Kings by George RR Martin. Epic fantasy book that's historically rich. Second book of the Song of Ice and Fire series, and reading my way through the 1000+ pages Storm of Swords :V
Invisible Man For AP English
The last book I read was Dead Run by Erica Spindler, which I bet hardly any of you have heard of, sadly. It was a really good book. Dead Run is a murder mystery book and it was pretty exciting; I couldn't stop reading it, Lol. Some parts were kind of gross/weird, though. o.o
The last book I finished was Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. That was a few weeks ago. Now I'm reading I Am America (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert lul.
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, working on Inkspell.
Just finished The Tomb by F. Paul Wilson, am reading The Human Predator, and up next is Fever Dream by Preston & Child.
Decameron...sooo boring >< but...i...must read it...
just finished rereading the first four books of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy.. and must stop there as I seem to not own Mostly Harmless, which isn't very sensible.
er.. will now probably resume reading this endless pile of crime thriller paperbacks, hur
what is next
"dead spy running" by jon stock. I've just read the blurb on the back and it sounds hilarious. "Speed", but set at the london marathon with a bomb strapped to a runner. oh how I hope that's what it actually is and I haven't got the wrong end of the stick.
It's been so long since I've read for fun. I don't remember what the last book I read (that wasn't assigned) was. Maybe the Namesake?
The last book I finished was Youth In Revolt. I hated it, the movie was even worse Definitely not Micheal Cera's best, but arguably also not his worst. XD But it's hard to read a book where the main character does the exact OPPOSITE of what you want them to do.
Then I tried to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but I got too bored and then I bought the second book in the Bartimaeus Trilogy, so I started re-reading that ^^
The last book was Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami... i just love Japanese literature))))
I forgot but I'm going to the library to check out some Harry Potter.
"The Return of Sherlock Holmes".. specifically "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton", which is an excellent name, though not as good as Thorneycroft Huxtable, which I think shall be the name of my firstborn.
Nightmares and Dreamscapes.
The Bartimaeus Trilogy, Book Two: The Golem's Eye
SUCH a good book >w< I love that series so much, I just hope I can finish book 3 before I have to go back to college... XD I don't want to take it with me, plus I know I won't have much time for pleasure reading once classes start. :[
Series of Unfortunate Events Book 4 Miserable Mill. XD Good book.
Mockingjay by Auzanne Collins. It's the third book in The Hunger Games trilogy.
It by Stephen King.
*shudder*
Series of unfortunate book 7 by Lemony Snicket. It is a good book.
The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest by Stieg Larsson. An amazing read.
the first part of the ninja squirrel twins book
I wrote about them
Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk.
I just finished Vile Village.
Ah, I just finished a book by Kyra Davis titled "So Much For My Happy Ending". =/ For such a lame title, it's actually quite the read if you don't mind a first-person narration.
It's about a woman who gets into a marriage with a man who..well, who isn't who she thought he was. As..boring as that sounds, I definitely recommend it.
On a side note, I was having relationship troubles before I read it.
...Reading through it changed my mind a bit and I managed to work everything out without hardly doing anything.
Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk, I will be forever screwed up now.
I almost finished a book called ''hands up or enemy number 1'' i finished 3 books from the 39 clues:Bone maze, the false note and the sword thief.I don't like reading though.I read all of my interesting books
The novelization of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
Stfu, it's a good read. =/
I recently finished Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan.
I just finished Frindle almost done with Lilly's Ghost and Warriors book 2.
Cannery Row by John Steinbeck. Had to read it for English class over the summer. I thought it was good, although it appears I stand alone in my class.
I haven't read a book in a long time. The last one I read was Animal Farm for an English class.
I found it to be a generally unpleasurable read, like most of the books that I've read.
H.I.V.E: The Overlord Protocol
I do have to say, the first H.I.V.E was much.. easier to read. But, I really liked this, despite the fact that it took me a little longer to read. Can't wait to get my hands on the third H.I.V.E book in the series.
Of Mice an Men. I read for English at school
Fullmetal Alchemist volume 13.
Uhm.
I re-read some of my bleach manga.
read fevered kiss. good book but warning: yaoi
Currently reading Beowulf in English.
The Mysterious Stranger. Sure, it's a short story, but a story nevertheless. XD
Cirque Du Freak. The first one.
It was alriight, I guess.
Lord of the Flies. I liked it
Sophocles' Antigone. I swear it's for drama
my last book was Blaze by stephen king, it was somewhat sad...the main character had really bad luck all his life, but it intriges you how its he going to do with a baby...
I finished two books today and started one up. The ones I finished were Out Of My Mind, and Lord Of The Flies. The one I started was The Prince Of Mist.
Out Of My Mind was, for me, better then The Lord Of The Flies because of the emotions rolled into the plot. I loved it, and nearly cried because of how sad it was.
The Lord Of The Flies was for school and personally, I didn't like it much. It was a little hard to understand in some areas and the plot, I found, was quite boring. I liked the ending, though! xD It made me happy.
The Prince Of Mist, is my favorite book. This is actually the third or fourth time I've re-read it. I love the villan in it, Prince of mist, because of how evil, yet magical he is. Even though I've read that book multiple times, it never ceases amazing me.
That sign on the freeway.
Um.
Books? Whats that?
Do we eat those?
Um, the last one was "The Homework Machine".
The Sandman vols 4 and 8.
Death <3333333
Finished The Prince of Mist today for the 3rd, I think(?) time. xD And started it back up again for another round.
The villian, Cain/Prince of Mist, continues to be my favorite novel character.
Uh...
Sh*t My Dad Says. It was hucking filarious, seriously.
Absolutely, Positively Not. Interesting story, far shorter than books I usually tackle.
Infinite Crisis. Justice League, ftw.
Ship of Magic. Yay Robin Hobb trilogies~
And, though there was probably a lot more, I can't think of them for the life of me I read way too fast.
Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay for regular books and Kobato. volume 3 for manga.
And currently reading Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
Just reread the Hobbit and am currently Rereading Atriums Fowl the Opal Deception... Love them!
Read Mocikingjay... Epic Series.
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom, amazingly good book, I keep reading it over and over again.
Angels and Demons -Dan Brown.
It's changed my viewpoint on everything. :O
ok. i read the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud. It's kinda old but a very good read if you like wizards, demons(or more respectively Djinni), and total chaos with a little thrill thrown in. I'm actually on the last one but i can't finish it because its at my friend's house , so i'm currently reading the lord of the rings ^__^
The last book I've read was I am America and so Can You by Stephen Colbert. I like Stephen's sense of humor. The "Gay Test" and the Science chapter were some of my favorite sections.
The Monstrumologist. <-- An epic book, but I wouldn't suggest it to someone who can't stand gorey stuff.
Aaaand off to read Stephen King's Everything's Eventual and Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. Totally excited for the both of them.
The last book I read was Red Scarf Girl by Jiang Ji-Li. It was really great. ^^
I just started on The Hobbit, and that's really good so far too.
Finished Everything's Eventual and about halfway through Fahrenheit 451.
I picked up Stephen King's Desperation just the other day and now I can't put it down.
The last book I finished was Catching Fire.
Just finished Beauty Sleep by Cameron Dokey.
Onto Thirsty by M.T.Anderson.
Also reading the first book in the first series of Deltora Quest on the side.
Deadly Little Lies.
I guess it was OKAY. It would've been better if I knew that it was the second in a series. I didn't read the first book. :c
whoops, sorry for double post, but I forgot to post the book I read. I'm reading the Lord of The Rings books. Just finished the fellowship of the rings.
The last book I read was "A Flash of Hex" by Jes Battis
It was a really good story !
P.S. this is the third book in the OSI series.
Two weeks ago when I was still in school. You thing I read for *fun*?
How To Train Your Dragon
I read it cuz I saw the movie.
Stephen King's The Mist and R.L. Stine's Fear.
I like me my scary books.
The Warriors: New Prophecy: Midnight.
I'm only reading it for homework I have on the holidays, and I chose it because I've read it before, and it's smallish.
Just to clarify things here. Yes I have read the series, no I'm not a fan. Yes I know Crowfeather is a WindClan warrior cat, so it may seem that I like the Warrior Cats, when actually CrowFeather is the name of my Sadistic Transformers Character.
IT by Stephen King
I always enjoy some good ol' horror with a touch of mind screw thrown in.
Ah, good question! The last book I read was To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. I read it for school, and goodness, I ended up appreciating what it had to say a whole lot more than I thought I would. What a thoughtful book it was.
I'm enjoying reading some of the suggestions people are making here! I'll have to look into some of the titles mentioned.
The last book I read (or rather re-read) was Natsuo Kirino's Real World.
I really like Kirino's writting in general and was pleased by the book so you'll hear no complains. o vo

Professor Layton And The Curious Village Instruction Manual.
"Demon In My View" by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.
The last manga I read was "Tramps Like Us vo. 1" by Yayoi Ogawa
I highly recommend reading all of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' vampire books. They are amazing!
Sea of Monsters...
My first book ever read...EVER...
To Kill a Mockingbird
Uncle John's Unstoppable Bathroom Reader, the 16th edition.
(I was surprised at how much the book was worth; I just found it at work and took it home to read. )
Final Fantasy and Philosophy. By a bunch of professors for people who want to read too deeply into videogames.
The Thin Executioner.
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
A slightly less shit version of twilight, except its about werewolves.
Otherland: Mountain of Black Glass
Now to the fourth book. I THINK I have it, I need to go looking for it.

Gah, I loved that book so much. It made me laugh more times than I can remember, and had a plot that was very interesting to me.
Large Hadron Collider + Demons + Humor = I LIKE THIS VERY MUCH
Mostly Harmless by Douglas Adams. I'm in the process of reading others, but that's the last one I finished. And I can't believe I'm done with the series now! ;_;
Warriors-The New Prophecy-Moonrise
Ha i recently re read The last olympian
The Family by Buchi Emecheta. What a disappointment. This, and the two previous books I had to read for this class were exactly alike, and both were tiresome cliches to read through. Standard soap opera bullcrap.
I've read fun books for school, like Ragged Dick and The Narrow Road To the Deep North. Don't tell me you don't know how to assign interesting books for analysis.
My science book Dx
The last book that I have read was The Vampire Diaries. Before that was Wicked. I read that one every year <3
The last book that I have read was The Vampire Diaries. Before that was Wicked. I read that one every year <3
Recently Read:
Watership Down. Okay it's a book about rabbits, but not fluffy at all.
Animal Farm. Very disturbing.
Reading:
A Wrinkle in Time. Yet again I am reading this.
Just finished "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova.
In the novel, the protagonists span three generations. Each generation has one or more of its own historians. All are looking for the real Dracula (Prince Vlad Tepes) for both professional and personal reasons.
All believe that 'Drakulya' still walks the earth, selecting his acolytes and spreading his evil through bites on the neck, which leave them "undead." The search for the truth takes them to several different countries and to journeys of self-discovery that none anticipated.
I can totally see someone turning this book into an epic movie or mini series!
Its a very thrilling book and vaguely creepy in that it makes you feel that the "Dark Prince" could not only possibly still be alive, but lurking around any corner or looking over your shoulder as you read it.
In that respect, I think its better than most of the other vampire-fiction out there right now (Twilight especially!).
~Tara
I just finished reading Boneshaker by Cherie Priest. It was a tad slow in spots, but otherwise enjoyable.
I finished reading Fight Club (Chuck Palahniuk) not too long ago. Granted it was for school, but I had wanted to read it before and it was really enjoyable. Personally, I think the book was a horror story rather than...whatever genre others will call it.
The Indigo Children, a fascinating read even though I myself have a crystal aura instead of an indigo one
The last book I read was Four Arthurian Romances by Chrétien de Troyes for my Arthurian Lit class... It was a bit slow, but as far as reading for classes go, it was quite enjoyable.
Homer's The Illiad...unless you have to read it for school like I did, dont read it. ever
actual books I am in the process of reading Johnny Rotten's autobiography "Rotten." Its hard to get it finished when I have to read ancient greek literature that I dont understand XD
Titan's Curse..
Not read but close enough..
I recently finished reading Slawter from Darren Shan, and I'm currently reading Bec, which is the book following it.
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. I really liked it, especially in comparison to the other two I just got done with.
I could really identify with Elinor. Story of my life right there.
Doctor Who: Nuclear Time
<3
I'm currently reading the book form the Hunger Games Trilogy, Mockingjay.
I love it. c:
Ok, my last book I read is in a series known as Alcatraz and NO it was not about the prison, but a kid named Alcatraz. It was the second book in the series and it is by Brandon Sanderson (however, in the book it claims Alcatraz wrote it, but what ever). I'm not a person who enjoys reading, but i LOVE comedy, and this series is FUNNY!!!!
I read currently Eldest by Christopher Paolin and befote that was Harry Potter and Goblet of fire.
Dark Tower; The Gunslinger by Steven King. c:
Does light novels count? Then "Kyou kara Ma no tsuku Jiyuugyou", it's the first in the MaruMa series, it was also turned into an anime called "Kyou kara Maou!".
