I'm from the UK so this means nothing to me.
Nor will it mean anything to anybody else who's not from the USA. |

I'm from the UK so this means nothing to me. Nor will it mean anything to anybody else who's not from the USA. Talk about insensitive! This is an amazing way to stand up for what's right. In particular, it's a false claim because immigrants who aren't normally from the USA will think it means something to them, did you even consider that? Granted, I am not able to donate right now, but even though I've essentially quit GPX+ and refuse to play it actively anymore, I admire this effort the staff here are making. I'm sorry if you're offended by what I'm saying or what's going on here, but I'm not about to let you say that there's no one outside of the US who would care when in fact there are *many* people who would. Since when did I say I was offended? Why would I be offended? I don't even know what ACLU day is. The A is for America, right?
*looks it up* Right. Still don't know. It's coming up to Red Nose Day. Anybody who isn't from British Isles know or care about that? This post has been edited by Breech Loader: Feb 14 2017, 02:14 PM |

Anybody who isn't from British Isles know or care about that? The ACLU is the American Civil Liberties Union, which is a charity organization which deploys lawyers to fight in favor of Civil Rights cases. I have my own thoughts about them, but they've been instrumental in fighting against the most recent executive order by Donald Trump which banned all visa holders, green card holders, and permanent residents of the United States (on top of refusing any new refugee, visa, or green card applications) from 7 countries that have had no connection to terrorism in the United States. This has basically caused massive hold ups in airports by citizens trying to re-enter the United States due to dual-citizenship, despite them legally being allowed to be here. The other core issue is that it was not properly vetted and there was tons of confusion about how to enforce it by various agencies, but due to donations to the ACLU the executive order has been fought in court and been basically struck down repeatedly. The other reason to donate to the ACLU is that this current administration may pose a threat towards civil rights in the future, and we need the full strength of the Judicial Branch to make sure it doesn't come to fruition. I'm surprised you haven't heard about at least the main issue that the ACLU has been fighting. It's been reported on internationally for the entire past month. -------------------- |

Thank you to everyone for the support in February!
Just wanted to give an update here: we hit $515 (rounded up) which will be donated within the next week or two. I will give another update once the ACLU donation has gone through. -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? Check out my website: randimg!

Again, I want to thank everyone so much for their support in February, as well as their support every single month, whether you're able to donate or not.
The $515 from the February fundraiser has officially been donated to the ACLU. They don't offer much in the way of proof, but here is the receipt from the confirmation email. (click to show ) The ACLU page has been updated to include this receipt. -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? Check out my website: randimg!
