Couple shiny questions, I feel like an idiot for even having to ask |

So I had a few questions on shinies.
1) Does a shiny Pokemon have to be bred, or can the egg come from the lab? 2) for the egg event giving thing that's happening now, let's say theoretically I get the shiny Lugia egg, if I corrupt it into shadow Lugia, does that nullify the shiny status where it won't hatch shiny? (I know my chances but still) 3) if I have a shiny hunt going on from sept 2016, do I still get prize I I finish and can I even finish it? 4) does anyone know the chance of an egg being shiny on the site? Edit: 5) since I got misquaza egg like I wanted, is there a shiny version of that? This post has been edited by DoggyGuy17: Aug 4 2017, 03:01 PM |

1. Any egg has a chance of being shiny, it doesn't matter where it comes from.
2. You'd get a shiny Shadow Lugia. 3. You'd have to buy the prize from the prize shop or find whatever egg it is from the Shelter if you want it in egg form. Or grab it from the Safari when you see it. 4. Someone else probably knows. 5. There is a shiny version, I haven't seen it myself, though. -------------------- Avatar by Cycloneblaze at Cycloneshop II Banner by http://gpx.plus/user/eevee64 Banner by http://gpx.plus/user/Baymax |

Yes, you can still get a shiny Budew. Side-wide shiny hunts don't lock a certain Pokémon into only being shiny for their two-week duration, if that makes sense. All it is is an official hunt as opposed to your personal one, and even after that SWSH month ends, you can get a shiny as normal.
As for question number 4, those ratios are kept hidden from non-staff, but yes, we will say there are certain formulas. -------------------- Check my GPXPlus journal to see what I contributed to the site! Interested in a commission? PM me. |

Based on data gathered from shiny hunters, the rate appears to be somewhere between 1/250 and 1/300, but like Synx Itax said, only the staff will ever know for sure.

I'd just like to ask why that is? I'm not sure that I see a point in keeping the odds hidden from regular members.

Same with the Mystery Counter. -------------------- Check my GPXPlus journal to see what I contributed to the site! Interested in a commission? PM me. |

Same with the Mystery Counter. Well we know it's between 150 and 250, that's narrow enough to warrant some kind of clarification, right? Keeping simple things like this a mystery forever isn't fun... No one's figured it out, actually. If they think they did, they didn't. Or not entirely, anyway. -------------------- Check my GPXPlus journal to see what I contributed to the site!
