Just to do it, let's discuss Pokemon that we're afraid of an why. I'm scared of Toxicroak and the Nido-'s, because I read in the Ultimate Handbook (the one made before Unova) that a single scratch and a single touch of Toxicroak's fingers and Nidoran Female's spikes, respectively, can kill you! Also, I'm afraid of Glalie. Just look at the thing and its teeth! It looks like it'll bite your nose off!
For the record, General Discussion refers to anything that is not Pokemon-related. Meanwhile, non-specific Pokemon threads have their own section http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showforum=42, which is where I'm moving this to.
I'm afraid of Beautifly. Don't call me weird until you've read the description of it I give:
It has an aggressive nature. It stabs prey with its long, narrow mouth to drain the prey's fluids.
That's off a certain Pokémon card. Call me weird if you want.
Oh yeah, just off hand. Charizard's normal size is some 5'11", so any adult 6' or taller will never be able to ride one.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! MY DREAMS ARE CRUSHED! I'LL NEVER RIDE A CHARIZARD!
i afraid more like bug's than bautifly, illumise, volbeat like that.. where lot creepy as bee, spider and etc. I hate it and some Ghost pokemons too. I hate Ghost and Bugs.
The Litwick line. Just... the Litwick line.
Litwick's fire is only actually burning when it's sucking the life force from the people and Pokemon. And considering how we virtually always see Litwick with their fire burning...
Lampent is, predictably, even worse. It hangs around hospitals and waits for patients to pass on, so that it can suck out their very souls. However, it can apparently only do this to those who are already dead.
Chandelure, however, can do this whenever it feels like it. It can just suck up someone's soul -- right from their living body -- and burn it up. Imagine how painful that is.
TERRIFYING... And yet, that's a big part of the reason why Chandelure's my favorite Pokemon.
First of all the one that really doesn't count: MissingNo.
I'm not sure if I have to explain why? But if something that disrupts normal gameplay existed in real life, it could probably disrupt normal physics no thanks
Again not an actual pokemon, but the gen 3 Bad Egg glitch legitimately terrified me as a kid, despite the fact I never even touched a cheating device.
Now while we all have Bulbapedia up!
"Haunter: Its tongue is made of gas. If licked, its victim starts shaking constantly until death eventually comes."
EVENTUALLY
"If you get the feeling of being watched in darkness when nobody is around, Haunter is there."
"Because of its ability to slip through block walls, it is said to be from another dimension."
"It likes to lurk in the dark and tap shoulders with a gaseous hand. Its touch causes endless shuddering."
And of course, Shedinja is unsettling
"Shedinja's hard body doesn't move - not even a twitch. In fact, its body appears to be merely a hollow shell. It is believed that this Pokémon will steal the spirit of anyone peering into its hollow body from its back."
And there's Frillish: "If its veil-like arms stun and wrap a foe, that foe will be dragged miles below the surface, never to return."
And then next Jellicent's pokedex entry gets all poetic about it: "The fate of the ships and crew that wander into Jellicent's habitat: all sunken, all lost, all vanished."
Not that I don't adore those pokemon to death just god help us if they existed
Jynx is pretty scary, especially brock's jynx who wants to make love to him
The descriptions of every pokemon are fearful. IGGLYBUFF.
Dusclops. "It is said that those who look into its body are sucked into the void.", "Anyone who dares peer into its body to see its spectral ball of fire will have their spirit stolen away." That is so creepy! (but I still think the Duskull evolution line is cool)
Spinarak and Ariados. I just hate spiders in general.
I think just swimming around and seeing a Sharpedo or even a garados would be horrifying! Most pokemon are pretty scary just cuz they are wild animals with super abilities XD
That scene in Platinum where Cyrus summons Giratina. I just imagine seeing that face in a nightmare. <_>
I find Elgyem, Beheeyem and especially Uxie scary. Wiping your memory out/rewriting it at will? That's just terrifying to me.
Gourgeist is pretty damn scary, but I love it too much to be scared of it.
I have the fear of drowning, so the thought of my ship being dragged down by a Jellicent is kinda terrifying
Parasect. JUST NO. Keep it away from me. ;w;
Dragalge's pokedex entries scared me when I initially read them.
X: Their poison is strong enough to eat through the hull of a tanker, and they spit it indiscriminately at anything that enters their territory.
Y: Tales are told of ships that wander into seas where Dragalge live, never to return.
Beedrill. Basically an overgrown, very territorial, superpowered wasp-like thing. Real-life wasps terrify me. Beedrill takes everything that makes real-life wasps terrifying, and magnifies and multiplies it. To make matters even worse, Beedrill takes victims of its attacks back to its nest for food.
Espurr in a nutshell.
That face.
Banette gives me creepy thoughts of all the toys and virtual pets I lost/forgot/accidentally broke/haven't played with in a million years coming back for revenge in the dead of night. No thank you!
Froslass. I thought it was beautiful but some Pokedex entry said that it likes to eat souls.
Nihilego is like some unholy embodiment of a bunch of my worst fears. Jellyfish being the obvious one (I was stung once when I was a kid).
competes with for the spot of my favorite eeveelution, but the fact Umbreon sweats poison when agitated puts me off... nonetheless I still like his glowing markings.
