this guy obviously knows nothing about pokemon
there treating them like fighting dogs that do witchcraft
there treating jigglypuff like satan
i am a religious person i still play pokemon sometimes but i still play with toys and stuff kids these days are just on electronics but when its not snowy i am out a very big part of the day this socity is messed up to the point where hardly go to heavon there are many people who love pokemon but love god even more they still follow god but they still play pokemon too sometimes

No. Pokemon is not the devil's work. To think such an idea is absolutely pathetic.

First of all, that man is arguably one of the worst religious people out there, based on this video alone. Pokemon is fictional, and nothing but. He claims that playing the game implants the idea that kids can wield destructive power.

They're nothing but pixels made for the enjoyment of kids. You can't harbor the power of fire, ice, electricity, etc. based on a simple game. The idea of the game is to give kids a sense of power, in a different form; making your own decisions.

Take the battle screen for instance. You have your basics; fighting, using an item, switching a party member, or running. By choosing one of these, you are making a decision that will change the battle entirely. This can be reflected in real-life obstacles. To overcome these, you have to make a decision.

Here's the layman's term for Pokemon; pure enjoyment, without all the seriousness. All in all, it's just a fun game.

I think the heavily religious people mostly got riled up due to the fact that there were Psychic Pokemon, particularly the ones named "Abra", "Kadabra", and "Alakazam", since they thought it had something to do with magic and witchcraft. There was a similar reaction when Harry Potter started becoming famous, since he attends a school of "witchcraft and wizardry". And since to those people, witchcraft is the work of the devil, they see Pokemon (and HP) as a way for Satan to tempt children. I can only how they reacted to Arceus, since it's pretty much viewed as the Pokemon equivalent of a deity. Some of them might even hate the fact that Pokemon "evolve".

If only they could see that the anime actually shows kids the importance of hard work, friendship, loyalty/trust, and teamwork... stuff that anybody from any belief would agree are good morals.

...well... this is definitely one of my least favorite parts about being a part of a Abrahamic Religion- people like this who think something like Pokemon is 'satanic'. I am pretty sure a lot of Islamic countries had issues (I think they were mainly around the GSC era, by now there aren't as many issues) with Pokemon for the same or similar reasons, probably due to it's used of evolution(which I don't see why it would be so threatening, whether evolution is true or not theres no real reason to care about it since it as near to no effect on us at all) but thats beside the point.

Still it is hard to believe this guy is SERIOUS, it's hard to believe he isn't just screwing with the crowd. It's little monsters that fight each other...? I may have read very little of the bible, but I am pretty sure there isn't a part where someone controls 'demons' and makes them fight each other, or even other people. Also, if Pokemon really made kids worship the devil, wouldn't there be some kind of news reports of children behaving oddly after playing these games?

There are many kinds of religious people, and an unfortunate few are like this. Best to ignore them, they probably have little understanding of what they are worshiping much less what they see as 'evil'.

It's just attention hungry people that want to get attention by saying that anything that is really popular with kids must have some connection with the Devil.

If you think hard enough.. or don't.. you can make anything sound like it's evil.

To me, it's just a toyetic show and a game series that I enjoy.

Pokemon is completely safe, and I'm a Christian who believes that. There's always going to be extreme groups that freak out and try to find a devil behind every bush.

Having said that, I have met kids over the internet who think Pokemon actually exist and want to capture them to become possessed by them and become demons themselves. (It got really weird listening to them.) When people take toys and games way too seriously, that's when you intercede. However, this is more of an issue of a person being unable to distinguish fantasy from reality, and not an inherent issue with the work in question.

Pokemon is Fictional.
It is a Game were you do combat with a "fictional Character" -Or an actual person via Wifi.- and can Train pokemon and learn new things.

Many Teenagers think Pokemon is "gay",But i disagree. No kid has never,Ever,Not heard of Pikachu.

I'm almost 13,And i loved pokemon since i was Born,But some people think as a Furret as "Satan's Pet" or whatever.


And yes,Some pokemon are infact,From Mythologies!!!

Take Ninetails for Example,Ninetails is Based of the Japanese Dark Lord.

BUT,It doesn't mean Nintendo is gonna Quit Dude.

Now, look, this guy never played the game.

First off, the Pokemon don't "kill" the people.
They faint the Pokemon, which are easily healed.

Second, the player doesn't steal the Pokemon's power.
The player starts a relationship with the Pokemon and fights alongside it.

Anyone who's calling Pokemon gay is calling Companionship,Friendship,Teamwork and Trust "Gay" aswell.

Oh yeah, that guy I laughed at his stupidity when I saw the full video of that last summer. People associated with his religion commented on the video, saying he was an idiot for thinking that. I think someone commented saying "Jigglypuff is possessed by Satan" as a joke, in which to laugh at him. And the fact he compared Russian Roulette to a card game was dumb. A gun isn't the same as holding a card, lol. Well, if he was right--which he's not--then I guess making friends with cute critters is "Satan's Work"

All I can say is, I was laughing so hard all the way through the video. Not only Pokemon, but rock music, primetime television, roleplaying and the internet, will make us go to Hell? And we can't be saved? It sounded like a joke... XD

I'm not religious at all, I don't believe in the devil or witchcraft anyway. I'd like to be able to do what I like in peace without being damned to Hell, thank you very much. O.o

Me and my friend went over to a friend of my mom/her mom's, that they haven't seen in years. She was obviously very religious (not that there's really anything wrong with that). So, being how I am, I brought up how I like Pokemon. She looked surprised and told me it was satanic, and was like "Wtf...?" And yet, I still saw that coming.

The only way Pokemon relates to Christianity is Arceas and Giratina playing the roles of God and Satan.

Of course, those calling Pokemon sacrilegious probably haven't even played the game enough to even know that. It's kinda like how my mother didn't allow me to watch Harry Potter as a kid because of its use of magic. Magic's been a very iffy thing to Christians for centuries, so it's somewhat understandable to see someone jumping to the conclusion that Pokemon are Satanic.

After all, witches in the Middle Ages, whether they performed black magic or white magic (white is considered "good magic"), were all considered to have made a pact with Satan. I guess that mindset hasn't left some Christians.

If anything, Pokémon is a work of God as it teaches people that you should always care for your friends.

I am religious. However, I separate religion into two even categories: the first category, the one with people like me, thinks rationally and only lets religion run their lives when it's something like Judaism needing kosher foods. The second category is the idiot category, where people who think Pokémon is letting the devil possess children go. Frankly, the members of the second category sometimes make me ashamed to be a part of the religion I have, as they have given us a very bad reputation.

I honestly think it's not the devils work. I didn't watch the video, but I've seen an article saying that some Christian bands were conforming to the world and that was evil therefore the devil. People can me extreme extremists. I am a follower of Jesus, and I don't see anything wrong with liking Pokemon. The only way I would see anything wrong with it and being considered the work of the devil is if you are religious and you let Pokemon consume you in thoughts, actions, and time. Not just pokemon, but anything that keeps you away from strengthening your relationship with God.

If you're not religious, then you don't need to worry about what people say.

I had played pokemon for 3 years already and my friends and I think that pokemon is totally NOT the work of a devil. it is the work of a company called Game Freak and Nintendo. I'm religious, but there really is nothing wrong with pokemon. it's made just for entertainment by humans, not by devils.

Off topic as it may be very few people are aware the white magic is nothing more then a more powerful form of black magic...in other words its not "good". I should know because I studied satanist cults, and things like the wiccan etc. so yes that is a very common and slightly annoying misconception.


For a more "on-topic" comment...My dad is the same way and would probably agree to to some dumb piece of crap like that man in the video mentioned, though that is coming from the same person that claims he is a christian and yet he sees nothing wrong with acting like a child on a day to day basis and trying to make it look like I did something wrong (when in reality I obviously did not). The same person that thinks its ok to break your child's arm (. . .) believes Pokemon is demonic. No, just no.
He said that since Pikachu has a lighting Bolt shaped tail it only "proves" his point further (If his point is "he is full of shit" then yes it does.) He also said that star on the Normal type pokemon is supposed to be a hexagram and because it originated in Japan then its impossible for it to have anything to do with David's Star (Hexagram my arse.)

Well as a christian... Witchcraft is on one hand a practice and on the other hand a symbology.

The whichcraft symbology is present in pretty much all of popular culture (who knows why) and pokemon is no exception to that.

Being a cristian I however have to say that the whole world is satans dominion, so its not a big surprise that pokemon is a part of that XD
