It is one bad and nasty illness.
Does anyone know what it actually does? Like what makes it different from the other illnesses? --------------------       hey look i have eggs , wouldnt mind hatching them would you? |

I hear it's just like the regular flu and they do have antivirals, but I'm not sure there is a cure.

Fair enough.
Everytime I think of Swine Flu though the only thing that pops into my head is Swinub , Piloswine and Mamoswine. Damn swines.. -------------------- hey look i have eggs , wouldnt mind hatching them would you? |

A good chunk of people die from the normal flu every year and that hardly ever gets mentioned. What in the world makes this flu so special? Yes, it's a sickness, I understand that, but I think people are taking this entire Swine Flu thing and blowing it waaaaayyy out of proportion.

Well it currently has an 8-10% fatality ratio. However, it's mainly present in really young or really old people in which their immune system is weak anyhow and the normal flu would likely kill them too.

i love how there were 38 deaths in mexico, but it was just a disease making headlines then. there was one american fatality, and it was officially a PANDEMIC. OH MAH GOD. also, american media is hyping it up like there is going to be dead bodies piling in the streets three weeks from now, yet canadian media is all like "don't worry, it's nothing. we got enough medicine to treat %25 of the population anyways, eh?"
*ahem* time for obligatory swine flu jokes. nobody seems to like my idea of changing it from Pandemic to Hamdemic, so i hope you all catch the bacon lung and die in the aporkalypse. --------------------  |

Didn't the Swine Flu virus iorginate in pigs (hence the name), and then mutate to infect humans? And then it merged with some other nasty flu viruses...
But the only reason people are actually worried about it is because of Mexico's failures with healthcare. That doesn't make it a pandemic. Have people in the US with DECENT healthcare even died yet? Seriously. It's the flu. There was no cure, anyways. Pray for a vaccine and don't hug any pigs, yeah? LOL HAMDEMIC. I agree with that one~ -------------------- i daresay, this empty signature is strikingly attractive. |
