Say that we were to hold a Christmas Exchange again. Since we receive our exchange prizes in Egg form, if I hypothetically put a shiny into the system, would I be able to receive my prize, put it on the Shine Recorder, hatch it, and have that count towards that "find a shiny in 1 Egg" Achievement? Sorry if my wording is confusing, couldn't think of a better way to word it but I'll try to clarify if anyone needs it.

I understand that this could potentially be classified as "cheating the system" since you know you're already going to get a shiny, but you could say the same exact thing about all the times people have completed this Achievement using shiny vouchers that were given to them. Just figured I'd ask because other than having a stroke of dumb luck, I really don't see how you're ever going to check off that Achievement. Unless you have admin powers and keep constantly dumping non-shiny Eggs until you spot shiny code.

I'm like 99% certain that Christmas Exchange Pokemon won't count toward your Shiny Hunts. I'll have to hunt down and see if there are any threads or posts about it, but I know I obtained a Pokemon one year that theoretically would have completed a Shiny Hunt for me but didn't.

EDIT: Here's corroboration that your plan won't work. Sorry; you really do have to be ludicrously lucky to get that achievement.
