I've never caught or seen a wild shiny in a game but I got a shiny Articuno from the GTS. My first shiny in GPX+ was a Gulpin.

First ever, not counting the 2nd gen Gyrados was a shiny Tentacool on Silver, immediately after I caught Lapras.

My first non-red-Gyarados Shiny was a Tentacool. It was exciting, but I felt kinda cheated because they're so common.

Aside from the gyarados in Gold, mine was a shiny metapod. Very pleased considering at the time, I didn't even think it was possible. Course, the battery died, so...

The very first Shiny I encountered was a Shiny Phanpy in the Safari Zone on... I think Emerald...? Hmm... no, it was Ruby. Then there was a Shiny Golbat on the same game, and on Generation IV, either Gyarados or Shinx in Diamond and unfortunately... Bibarel in Platinum. I'm yet to find a Shiny in my Japanese HeartGold.
- The Phanpy kept breaking out of Safari Balls, but never seemed to run away... - Gyarados appeared to me while I was trying to steal DeepSeaTooth from Sharpedo just off the Lake Valor Resort using my Level 100 Linoone. - Shinx appeared to me in my first attempt at Chaining-- if I recall, it was an early Shiny, appearing on I think a chain of 6. - Bibarel appeared when I was heading to Hearthome City and is the first Shiny Pokemon I've claimed before beating the Elite Four. Awful luck in-game with shinies. I've so far [aside from the red gyarados] found one. And that was when I was using cheat codes. Not shiny-making cheat codes [not counting those shinies].. was using codes to get a living pokédex. Used the code for a scizor.. and.. this one I encountered was suddenly shiny!
No idea what it would have been without the code. Tangela, I suppose.. was in Mt. Silver. So.. yeah. My only encountered shiny in the games ended up being a hacked scizor in crystal :c typical. why yes, I am rubbish at chaining :V My friend did trade me a shiny nincada and hoppip, though <3 -------------------- |

First one was Tentacool in Emerald, but I was still sort of a n00b, so I didn't save, because I didn't realize that you're only supposed to reset if you KO a legendary.... which I did with Ho-Oh. Then I got a shiny Charizard in a trade in Platinum from a user on Bulbagarden, and then I got the event Pichu in Diamond and Platinum.

Generation Four.
First shiny was a Silcoon from a Honey Tree. Next was a Gloom. Then came a Geodude in FireRed. And now I got a Zubat and Snover. I miss them, 'cept for Zubat and Snover who I recently obtained. -------------------- "something will go here"  |

Not counting Gold's Gyarados, it'd probably be the Luxray someone traded me in Diamond. lol I didn't even know shinies existed til 4th gen. lolz My friend kept telling me she had a different colored Noctowl and Pikachu on Emerald, but I just thought she was crazy. (I couldn't really tell the difference.) I do have her Raichu now, too, though. lol The first shiny I got of my own was when I restarted my Sapphire a little while ago and my egg from the old lady in Lavaridge, I think, was a shiny Wynaut. He's on my Diamond now.
