Global PokédeX Plus Forums _ Questions and Help _ Ad Reports

Posted by: Zerxer Jan 21 2011, 06:46 PM

This thread is mostly to keep track of the ads being served by the new ad network we're test driving (the ads at the bottom of the site). If you see any rather mature ads that seem like they shouldn't be here, go ahead and post a screenshot of them in here (just a link to the image, please, no img tags).

You can also report Google Ads here too (the ones at the top of the site), if you wish. Just give me as much information about them as you can, including the URL that it redirects to if clicked on, since I actually can block those sites myself.

Please don't report things that really aren't that bad though that you think might be or I might wind up just deleting your post. We don't care about ads advertising certain RPG sites that have images of girl characters that are PG.

There's one that appears a lot on the upper ad banner that I think is too mature for this site. It shows an almost naked young man, on his side, with the words 'Adrian Bartol' across the top. It links to adrianbartol.com, a site selling tank tops, strangely enough. e_e

It's not so much an inappropriate ad as it is... well more than annoying. Every now and then there's an ad that automatically redirects me from a pokemon's page and the only way I can feed it is to close the tab and reopen it because trying to go back in the same tab just makes the ad come back anyway.

It redirected me here. http://mywebface.mywebsearch.com/download/index.jhtml?partner=GRxdm255&sub_id=203327_8891

I get this ones very often:

http://ione.adspirit.de/adview.php?tz=1296295995&pid=82&kid=220&wmid=906&wsid=23&uid=16&sid=167&nvc=1&target1=http%3A%2F%2Fimg4.adspirit.de%2Fbanner%2Fione%2F150%2F2011-01-04%2F3_flirtcafe_banner_v06c2_728x90.jpg

Honestly, I'm female and I don't want to see girls holding their big boobs into the camera.
There's another ad that asks me 'who is hotter' and is showing two girls. Need to get the link.. As soon as I have it I will post it here too.

Posted by: Pandorica Feb 1 2011, 02:53 PM

Out of the ads at the bottom, I keep getting only "Pokemon cheats" adds, but that may be because I use this browser only for GPX+ and similar stuff. However, the problem is, when the site scrolls down for some reason without my involvement and I accidentally click on one of those adds, the linked site never loads, giving out the usual Opera's "no site response" message. Not so much an inappriopriate ad, but it appears to not be working properly.

Posted by: Mars Adept Enten Feb 20 2011, 02:42 PM

I saw this and don't really think that it's appropriate:
(spoilered because of questionable content and for size)

o_O Err... (click to show)

I don't think kids should be seeing stuff like this on here. Just sayin'.

EDIT: Another somewhat questionable ad. It doesn't look like it at first, but there's a vertically-oriented ad that is quite questionable. The first (semi-innocent) ad:
Err... (click to show)

And the second (much more questionable ad), which is from another site, but it's the same product being advertised, so I think it counts:
Umm... (click to show)

EDIT: The ad links here: http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/aclk?sa=l&ai=B4zydoHNhTY-eJ82tqwG937GRA-C1sIoCyJ3AqSDAjbcBoI0GEAEYASDr4eQMOABQ2cqq-P3_____AWDJ3s-KrKTEE6ABoLbr0wOyAQtncHhwbHVzLm5ldLoBCTcyOHg5MF9hc8gBAtoBGmh0dHA6Ly9ncHhwbHVzLm5dC9wb2tldGNoqQIngCG2O_W2PqgDAcgDFfUDAAAAxA&num=1&sig=AGiWqtz-cN0dsavNttGCtlKJRsRVj0TzoA&client=ca-pub-2885753712705725&adurl=http://www.soccergame.com/index.php%3F%26cid%3Dsoc_us_0100&nm=2

When this ad first comes up at the top it shows a female with no top and just a thin belt over each breast, kinda inappropriate for the site.

Saw one just now of a male model wearing only boxer briefs, for some site called adrianbartol.com

picture of ad (click to show)

The site is for V Neck tee shirts, so I don't know why they chose to use a nearly naked guy for the banner advert.

I have been getting this ad all day, and I find it really inappropriate:

Naughty (click to show)

What's more is that it pans down towards the womans chest and then pans back up, yeah, REAL appropriate.

The Delimex advertisement creates a pop-up asking for user information such as a username and password and the only way to get rid of it is to close the tab.

I just noticed this ad crop up today, so anything you can do to get rid of it is greatly appreciated.

I blocked the URL that is in that login prompt, but I can't be sure that's the URL for the ad itself. If it does come up again, hit Cancel on the prompt and see if you can get me any other information from the ad.

EDIT:

I decided to gamble and click on it, it takes me to a Facebook page for "promotions" for that company.

By the way, the ad still opens the "login" pop-up. I tried hitting cancel, but I couldn't close it so that I could actually see the ad.

Alright, I've blocked delimex.com too. It could take up to 30 minutes for the filters to go into effect but that should stop it.

Uhm...
There's an ad that's bothering me a lot.
It's on the gpx video page and it's about condoms, it's an interactive one and asks you to move your mouse over it.
I'm not sure if I should report it because it's a Dutch ad and I think only people from Belgium and the Netherlands can see it.

Here's a pic of it (Didn't want to record the entire vid): http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/ee464/Luneon/Okaywtf.png
And it links to: http://www.durex.com/nl-NL/Pages/default.aspx

I don't think young children are interested in condoms, so it would be nice if something gets done about it.
Thank you! (:

It's now calling itself "Call of Roma", and it still has the "Roman Orgy" tagline, I also encountered a similar ad on another site for the same product, and it said "Choose your queen my lord!", it's like Evony reborn.

That "free-to-play" Pokémon game (the one that has that flashing circle) that used to be under the 'playpickle' website's name has popped up again under the 'greengamesandham.com' address now. EDIT: I also learned from a friend of mine not on this forum that this ad has plagiarized fan art in it. So it's not only annoying, but possibly breaking fan-art rights law.

There's a CVS Pharmacy ad that causes a LOT of lag. It's caused my computer to freeze several times. I can't get the link because the ad is in Flash, but I can describe it for you: it's the ads that show money raining down from the top and piling up.

Posted by: Dr Mrs The Monarch Mar 6 2012, 07:55 AM

There's an ad which isn't inappropriate per se, but I do find it disturbing. It's for a charity, to donate money to help children with cleft palattes. The ads pop up at both the top and the bottom of the page (as in the screenshot below), now I don't want to come across as offensive or anything, but these images disturb me, and I dislike charities poaching for money via guilt tripping at the best of times. Anyway, I just wondered if I was right in thinking anything could be done, because as I said I'm greatly disturbed by the images in question.

Also clicking the image leads to here: https://secure2.convio.net/stuk/site/Donation2?df_id=1501&1501.donation=form1&s_src=BANNER_Exchglab17

This ad was flagged up by Avast Antivirus earlier as having a SWF:Fellmire-A Trojan, could just be Avast being rubbish (not my computer) But figured if its actually the trojan it can be extremely severe for those who are not computer savvi and have no clue when it comes to AV.

There's an ad called "Heaven's Lost Property" that I believe should be flagged. Its an anime show that is rated MA. I was unable to get any screenshots of the offensive parts but I can describe them well enough. In the ad there is a young woman in anime style with hardly any clothes on, at all (a little slip to cover her lower private areas and small squares to cover her large breasts and the camera paused on them for a long moment for added effect). In the ad it says that 'your wish is her desire' and so its sounds very provocative.

On GPX+, I keep getting these TextEnhance ads from places like http://trkjmp.com/click?v=VVM6MjM4MTg6MTIyMDphZHNlbnNlOjczODY1NTY2NGNjMGQzOWJjMGY1MmZiMDg4ODcyNzQ0OnotMTS0zMzQ1NTpncHhwbHVzLm5ldDoxMzM2MjppbWFnZV9vbmx5. These ads are very annoying, because they pop up whenever my mouse moves over them. I have a feeling (which has recently been confirmed in a roundabout way) that they're all scam sites. Please look into blocking this site and similar ones from your ad servers, if possible. This one was from Google AdSense.

Like I said, it's not really 'inappropriate', but it is annoying.

EDIT: Here's a pic of one of those Google AdSense TextEnhance ads:

F*** Off, EDI! part 3 (click to show)

EDIT 2: From what I understand, this TextEnhance thing is a malware that pops up on all browsers. In addition, they are spam ads, and as such, do not give revenue to the many sites they are found on. So GPX+ will not get any earnings from these 'ads', and might lose money because of the TE ads leeching people who might donate for the site's upkeep away to other sites. So it's truly in your (and the users') best interest to block this advertising scourge from the ad servers.

Posted by: MewB Oct 19 2012, 05:33 PM

Lately there have been a ton of ads on GPX (both the forum and the Pokemon website) that have been flagged as containing malicious content from my AVG firewall.

I can hardly go to a page on this forum or the site without getting an alert, and it's becoming very concerning and fast. I have no idea which ads it is that are causing it, because my firewall flags them before the content can load, (non-malicious ads load just fine, so it's not an ad-blocker related thing, as I don't have that activated).

Can something be done about this or am I the only one encountering these issues today?

Actually, it depends. The definition of 'orgy' varies.
In modern usage, it means mass groups of people having sex, or behaving sexually.
In more ancient usage however, it meant overindulgence in things that were "morally unacceptable", which included overeating. Often in Ancient Rome and Greece, these celebrations were in honor of Gods.

So, depends on what they mean lol.

I think it's obvious from the imagery behind the text that they mean the modern usage.

At any rate, OP, there is a http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=50497 for reporting offensive advertisements. I've merged the topics together.

I used to get ads like these (rarely before but they did come up [not the exact same ones but had a similar goal]) I got a couple of Trojans from them and I know it's against the rules to suggest this but honestly; I rather say this then someone getting a virus and there computer getting all fucked up. Adblocker or donate.

I used AdBlocker before; until GaL donated for me (thanks a lot [happy.gif
But yeah... you didn't even need to click on the ads to get viruses.

EDIT: Just wondering, is there any way to get rid of these ads on GPX? (Like all together, not individually reporting them)

Posted by: Boogie Ronnster Jan 5 2013, 12:35 AM

EDIT: @Esc: What do you mean "all together"? What you said wasn't very clear/specific.... Like for GPX to never have ads for anyone? Ads help pay site costs... and donating is the solution to getting rid of ads... adblocker... is like cheating the system or something. The penalty for adblocking was taken back out as a sign of trust...I think... Why suggest to bite the hand that feeds? .-. I know very well about viruses. They suck, I know it. I got oodles of them on dA... Didn't click on jackpoop either. I had to go to safety mode and all kinds of BS. I have to admit I did not know adblocker was a thing that exists until I came to this site... But still... I can only imagine the insane costs of this site is what led to the new GPX donation system. Reporting ads individually is the best solution that can assist all parties involved. No one is required to bust out their wallet. I've gotten so many viruses in my life and my computer has lived to see another day each time. So.. I'm not sure that's a worry either. I dunno. However, maybe that's not what you meant? If not, I have no clue what... xD; I'm sorry if I seemed rude or whatever. I tried to be nice. I just happen to understand being virus-ridden and the harm ad-blocking can do (cost-wise). I got mcaffee rather than norton starting a year ago and haven't gotten a virus since if that means anything. < anti-virus software

Not sure if it's a dangerous site virus-wise, but it's sketchy image to say the least.

Here's the link if somehow the link can be used against it...or whatever. It's like five million characters so it's probably not even a working link. I dunno...

http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=CiMZLZLfnUPHvLdTS0AH_74DoC_iNrJYDsOi84T-Y5Y7HehABILLfwx5Q3sCBhgVgyYaAgIgkoAHEu4jtA8gBAuACAKgDAcgDnQSqBIYBT9Cl0HIvhlHflRBZBfiD8yW0BkQqYkx5JFTZJkzr-jikmsevraE6jBnPwb4ZkicbLdsyOuUQEkcj84OAGlWlUZUhDHiHPihLc2ogAG-v4ZCkH0dnS3ZLKjXRhlaAdX-Gl9Ovw88hSFtFHJNpp9I-GUCH_NNXqpDqcBepMTQlXKpIiKP2HgBAGIBgGgBgKAB6TE9xI&num=1&cid=5GhY_dvWKx7X1bcte1x3jpRl&sig=AOD64_0jhAImQ9Dzn12gJ6g-jeFpGL8IZg&client=ca-pub-1956838015392891&adurl=http://transformationstreatment.com/holistic-addiction-treatment-florida/%3Fkw%3D%26ad%3D17053696392&nm=2&nx=265&ny=26&mb=2

^The above is from the forums. I don't have ads on GPX...yet... I look for an AD report thread in the regular forums, but I didn't see any... I can only assume the same ad service is used for both, but I don't know for a fact I admit. Anyway, It has the words "My mom is going to die". There is an image of a hand (which looks like a corpse's hand from a crime scene), a table with a cork screw and syringes (I sense alcohol and drug paraphernalia) ...and then there's a hooded shadowy figure on the side.

It never really hinted what it is for either. I don't think it's for a video game....

There's a similar image that say "something mother father brother wife"... ominous font is used in both adds. The font and imagery is similar to the point where to say they both lead to different sites is foolish... I mean, it could be the case, but I doubt it...

I didn't take screenies because I accidentally refreshed one too many times... It could very well pop up again... I mean. I got the 2 ads multiple times... But, alas, now TD Bank wants me and as far as I know TD bank is legit...

Been getting this one a lot: http://oi49.tinypic.com/2q3rz2w.jpg the link location says its from Nextag.com

When I'm on my phone, I get redirected to mobirewards.org from the forums after a few seconds. Is this possibly related to the ads, or is it something entirely on my side?

Posted by: Nemu Jan 8 2013, 12:28 PM

I keep seeing pornographic yu-gi-oh playmats for sale. One has 2 people who appear to be 'fooling around'.

It's become a very frequent thing when I click. x3

Now someone has pointed me in the right direction of this thread...

http://s45.beta.photobucket.com/user/emsallotte/media/GTSadvert.png.html

Sexy Arab girls? Um...?

(I realise the screenshot is on GTS, but it has popped up on GPX too)

Posted by: wishy the meowth Feb 20 2013, 09:29 PM

This has happened to me twice today while I was on GPX+. Is it possibly coming from an advertisement?

A virus? (click to show)

Posted by: Demothi Ryuu Apr 28 2013, 02:40 PM

I don't know how GPX considers a 'girl dressed in a PG manner' but I personally don't feel these following adds count as PG.

http://i.imgur.com/tXgVntR.png
http://i.imgur.com/WVHZlVY.png
http://i.imgur.com/5ZqXzoa.png

I have not clicked to see where the first ad leads but the second and third ads lead to http://www.aeriagames.com/playnow/sbus/11?utm_source=googledisplay&utm_campaign=sbus&utm_medium=ContextualNA&age_pubid=animemmorpg

If I am wrong and these ads are acceptable I apologize but personally I don't feel that they should be considered PG due to the clear style and directed audience for the ads.

It might be just me, but I don't think this is appropriate?
http://i40.tinypic.com/155431w.png
I clicked it and it lead http://www.aq.com/landing/?referer=AQW-Google-Contextual_Land&gclid=CP2f4MKn_7YCFfQZtAodh0MA0g, then got blocked by FlashBlock.

I also saw an ad for an 18+ game, but I didn't get a screenshot, I will if I find it again.

Posted by: HDerp Jun 19 2013, 05:36 PM

I saw one showing 2 nearly naked Avatar-like women and 1 nearly naked Avatar-like man. One of the women is staring at the person and the other woman and the guy are "fooling around" and the slogan says: IMVU-Find your soulmate

(sorry about there being no pic but i was mass-clicking at the time)

Not sure if it is inappropriate, but if it is, please block it.

Getting an odd "free minecraft demo" ad that offers a potentially questionable download with spyware/adware toolbars.

Do NOT download this thing. Just a warning.

This ad keeps popping up no matter how many times I try to mute it. Not only is the woman in the picture not wearing a whole lot of clothes, but there's the stereotype about men:

http://prntscr.com/1otlg9

Posted by: DarkShinyMyuugia Oct 12 2013, 07:22 PM

Yeah, I keep seeing tha ad as well. There's also an ad that says "you are the 100,000th visitor, click here to claim a prize".

Which I know is bull, because this site has more than 100,000 members

Posted by: Tyranisaur Nov 22 2013, 10:05 PM

So there's this ad that pops up sometimes for me. What it does is to trigger a popup that says I'm a winner of some bullshit, in broken norwegian while the buttons on the popups are in english. Then when I close that and want to navigate to another page another popup will appear, this time about the navigation to another page, sort of like what happens on facebook when you have started typing in something then navigate to another page before posting. And when I finally close the popups and try to figure out where the ad comes from, it doesn't make that easy since it's not clickable, aside from the fact that I can see the image, it doesn't appear to be there. It looks like a blurry image, then after closing the last popup it will say thank you in in norewgian in the facebook font. Also, one of the popups has this link on it www.msg2mobile.net

I've been having problems with this ad for months. Every time it loads, it puts this malicious Javascript thing in my computer, causing me to get redirected to other pages whenever I search for something. I would get rid of it, but soon after I restart my computer to completely delete it, it shows up again and puts that same malicious script. The strange thing is that it only shows up once, like its sole purpose is to put that in my computer. It's like an endless loop. Oh and it also causes Chrome to crash once it appears.

Sounds like you might have malware on your computer. Run a virus scan on it (I recommend https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDcQjBAwAWoVChMIqv6Gq9yIxgIVIqHbCh2pYQAl&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.malwarebytes.org%2Fmwb-download%2F&ei=6g96VarhNaLC7gapw4GoAg&usg=AFQjCNH-SUEKMJgK7qJYKQkL8tzWDZ4spg&sig2=IH-2mG584cQE9tVluuCJHQ&bvm=bv.95277229,d.bGg, if you need a program).

In the last 12 hours or so I've noticed a new, extremely annoying ad. It's for something called "mylife", and whenever it loads on a page, the text box within the ad is "selected" — so if you're mashing hotkeys to mass click, you end up typing a bunch of gobbledegook into the ad's text box instead of actually making any clicking progress. I'm getting this ad approximately once or twice per 300 Pokemon/eggs.

http://i.imgur.com/lbKazV9.png

The ad links to https://i.w55c.net/cl?t=1&btid=NTc3NkE1MUEwMDA4NkU1RDBBMDE3RDkyREQwMzIwNjN8R0Z5dmZIeWtFcXwxNDY3MzkzMzANjkxfDF8MEZWWEo0OWpJQXwwUjJuQkFtYjNafDVwS284QXk2MXpBWlloNXw2NDAwMHx8fHwxNy4wUHxV0Q&ei=GOOGLE_CONTENTNETWORK&tpc=https://adclick.g.doubleclick.net/aclk%3Fsa%3Dl%26ai%3DC7oPnGqV2V93cIZL7BePAjOgNnZGJ7gW94vT3uAHAjbcBEAEgAGDJ_u2M5KSsE4IBF2NhLXB1Yi0yOg1NzUzNzEyNzA1NzI1oAGxtNXsA8gBCagDAaoEeE_Qj1Ah14tMWeNvcbhdDmnyYLUph7ed_HhCWQJkUuhEx58XFrFJm_kqAftBb73GA0Er_DEKk-nTf2QgciZ4EqBMFDp2p8VIuQ2BeLg5iv0mVSSFlsTMbzgsDORb4gzQisFDu2RHPSLIuQgFKx2i29T224VAPx7oAGlb7P6vLqzprVAaAGIagHpr4b2AcA%26num%3D1%26sig%3DAOD64_2F8Wddti01HOoadw_eyoulYjIZVQ%26client%3Dca-pub-2885753712705725%26adurl%3D&rurl=https://www.mylife.com/wsfy, which ends up redirecting to https://www.mylife.com/wsfy. If I fill out all the fields with gobbledegook, it links instead to https://www.mylife.com/idp-match-process.pubview?firstName=23412341234&lastName=asfd&zip=43&bypassMatching=true&redirectURL=%2Fsite%2Fob%2Finit%2Fwsfy.pubview%3FflowId%3Dpub_wsfy_flow9.

If this ad could be removed, it would be a big help in returning mass clicking to what it's supposed to be like.

So, I am getting an ad from https://www.teepublic.com/ featuring merch with female characters showing their breasts, which is not actually child-appropriate.

Searching on their site, they have no nudity taboo.

I don't think it's a website that is G-rated, knowing that nudity could show up anywhere.
