Firstly, I'm using Ride the Lightning's guide for mass clicking on Opera. I have followed all the instructions to a 't'. I recently got on a new internet connection which is faster than what I had previously, and so I attempted to click the same number of pokemon that I did beforehand, which was 100. Fairly low number, and as I wait for the pokemon to load and tab through, I get the -connection closed by remote server- message. Sometimes, it loads the poke'mon, and I'm able to click, but after I click, the message comes up. I'm not sure if this is a problem with my browser, the server, or my computer. I do run Vista, but the computer is fairly young, only 3 years old. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks for replying, Black Ice, but I've already read that part. ^-^'' I suppose it would be prudent to mention that after 100 pokemon/eggs didn't work, I decreased to 50, then 25, etc. Same problem. I appreciate your response, though. If the 'Other Tips' section is not what you meant, might I ask what you did?

I've got this problem too. It's just when the site is lagging these pages pop up. Try adding the refresh all tabs feature (just look up "refresh all tabs opera" on google). This helps sometimes. It seems to go through waves throughout the day. It'll prevent me from loading pages for up to 15 minutes sometimes, and there's nothing to my knowledge that can prevent this. But other times it loads pages perfecly all day.

And it's not like it's just in Opera I have this problem. Once the "connection closed by remote server" pages pops up in Opera, I try to open GPX/GTS in Firefox, but it doesn't load there either so I can only assume it's the site and not the browser.

A tip. If you notice that you're getting this error, stop clicking pages. It'll just give you that error and you'll have to do whatever you just did all over again. This is especially annoying when mass-clicking since the tabs won't close on their own when you refresh the page and are able to click. Also if you're posting in the forums and you get this error after you post something, do not refresh the page. This'll just cause you to double/triple post once the page loads.

Edit; Important Information from the Administration

Figured I'd post about this here so the word can spread. Something you're recommending in your guide is most likely the prime suspect for why a lot of people keep getting temporarily IP blocked (automatically) from the server by the firewall. When it blocks them, it states they had several hundred connections for some reason, which is why it did it.

This part of the guide is the problem:

--- opera:config: (credit to this guide, don't use anything else from it, just this part)...
"Type in opera:config in the address bar -> Click performances -> Max Connections Server (I went 105) and Max Connections Total (I went 105) -> Save
This should increase the number of connections that you have with the site, thus making it faster."

I'm not saying the people are setting it to several hundred, but even if you have it at 105, you could run the risk of having several hundred connections open to the server as they didn't have time to terminate before the next ones open, and they stack up and the firewall catches it right away.

That's what I meant.

When "connection closed by remote server" pops up, I'm pretty sure that means you've been IP blocked by the firewall. All you can do is just wait it out.

Quick Update: I've determined it's not a block. I can open about...6 pokes/eggs at a time and it'll work wonderfully. Any more than that, I get the "Cannot Connect to Remote Server", message. =/ I don't get it, Opera has worked great before...

Well, did you actually go back into your advanced settings and reset your max connections back to default? If not, I'd start there.
