Appearance: Altodus looks rather average. His red hair is a disheveled mess, at least as far as short hair can be a disheveled mess. His eyes are a bright blue. His face is rather unremarkable, save a scar on his left cheek caused by a nasty chemical spill. Altodus is five foot ten in height and has an average build.

Like any sane person, Altodus’ outfit changes to reflect the weather. On warm days, he wears short-sleeve shirts, shorts, and sandals. On colder days he dons a long-sleeved shirt with a sweater vest, jeans, boots, and coat as appropriate. His shirts tend to be collared and boast light colors such as blue or soft yellow while his pants are darker browns and blues. Altodus usually carries around his light brown leather jacket, fastened at the collar if it isn’t being worn.

Personality: Altodus’ personality is best described as caustic acid. He is a sarcastic jerk who doesn’t care much for other people. They either prove to be useful or they will be left behind. He cares not for those who exist to waste his time. He is determined, he is focused, and its best not to get in his way. On the other hand, Altodus certainly doesn’t mind annoying people for the heck of it if he has nothing better to do.

But even the most caustic acid can be diluted to harmless levels. Beneath his veil of insults and sarcasm lies an honest and loyal man. He respects those that display common sense and smarts. Altodus might be a jerk, but he isn’t evil. He has a heart of... well, maybe not gold, but, of... er, lead?

But, take note! While an acid and base dilute into water, their reaction also creates salt. If one happens to befriend Altodus, that does not exclude them from harassment.

Biography: Altodus was born and raised in Goldenrod City. His father was a well-to-do business man while his mother dabbled in the sciences, notably pharmaceuticals. Even from a young age, Altodus took after his mother’s passion with gusto. But playing with chemicals, even those from a relatively safe children’s chemistry kit, wasn’t without its own dangers, leaving Altodus with a scar. While most children might have stayed away from fire after being burned, Altodus lacked such a fear mechanism. If anything, it just increased his desire to control and dominate it.

While all the kids in school incessantly talked about being a pokemon master or whatever they were calling it these days, Altodus talked about how he synthesized this and titrated that. Of course, none of the other kids cared about such things. Being ostracised led him to develop his caustic personality he displays today. If they did not understand the ‘coolness’ of chemistry and science, then they were idiots and not worth associating with in the first place. It wasn’t as though Altodus completely shut himself off from the other kids either! He joined the Boy Scouts as a kid, though it was admittedly to tinker with all of the arts and crafts the adults handed out than it was to foster any lasting friendships.

Upon graduation, Altodus got a nice internship with his mother’s company. Most of his classmates went off to have pokemon adventures, which never really appealed to Altodus. What was so fun about travelling the world, camping in the wilderness, catching wild pokemon and forcing them to fight for fun and profit? It was just a hassle, doing all of that. Who wanted ADVENTURE when one could have a stable job, stable income, stable apartment...

and... well...

… okay, maybe those kids did have a point. Not even Altodus could resist the call to adventure that only a pokemon trainer could provide. Gathering his dusty knowledge of the outdoors he learned in Boy Scouts, his pokemon, and the money he saved up from his internship, Altodus left Jhoto for a completely different land. A place he never saw or knew anything about: Furoh. If those stupid classmates of his could be pokemon masters or whatever, so could he! A thousand times better, even. With his superior tactics and intellect, he will crush all those who oppose his rise to the top.

At least, that’s the itinerary.

Altodus met Paracelsus while working at his internship job back in Goldenrod. The physics lab was doing some work with magnetism, which wasn’t out of the ordinary in and of itself. What was out of the ordinary was that the experiment attracted several Magnemite and Magneton to the building. Through the building would be more presice... but, Altodus took advantage of the situation and managed to capture a Magnemite before the group was dispersed. Since then, Paracelsus has been Altodus’ companion and partner in mischief.

Bombastus is native to Furoh, unlike Paracelsus. Altodus met the pokemon as he was exploring Mt. Carello. Aside from being a rather lazy Swinub... actually, no, that’s pretty much all he is. Altodus has, however, managed to teach the pokemon to respond to certain words with a cry of ‘nub!’.
