I was thinking that a soothe bell could be used on a Pokemon and when it is interacted with, its happiness gain doubles. this would be extremely useful for getting the achievement box of bliss, or evolving Pokemon that evolve with happiness.

My Sapphires

We already have beverages that give a Pokemon about 25-40 times the usual happiness when fed.

How many times could you use it in a day? I'd like it, myself.

though there are already drinks that increase happiness, this should be an item of which you use on a Pokemon and it will stay in effect until the Pokemon reaches max happiness and should obviously cost at least 3000 points, but it would be worth buying if you don't wist to keep giving drinks, so really its just for lazy people.

perhaps if it were an upgrade users could get like the lucky egg.. it could sometimes give extra happiness when a user interacts with a pokemon

Probably this would work best, as it could be abused otherwise.

Well, it already takes no time at all to max out a Pokemon's happiness, so I don't really see a need to further speed it up, yup yup...

Maybe happiness should only be increased by feeding the correct berry. And this way, the soothe bell could come into play?

Although, then we need to think about those who eat anything. Maybe any berry raises happiness to accomodate for slower growth rates.

At that point, you're penalizing more casual players for sake of putting (what I assume would be) an expensive account upgrade item into play. It'd be like implementing the Lucky Egg but at the same time knocking everyone down to ad-blocked levels of exp gain to make the egg more attractive.

Happiness already gets a slight bonus from feeding the correct berry, plus a series of achievements are unlocked. I don't think going in the reverse and allowing no benefit from a mistaken berry would be welcomed in the long run.
