What do you guys think's under that mask? I think that the skull is probably the mom's, which could be a cubone or a marowak since in the show a Pichu could lay an egg with another Pichu. If you think about it, unless they take dead Charizard skulls, it should look like their face. So, it'll probably be their body color (or maybe lighter/darker) and the spiky edges will probably be round, the horns will be a bit taller, because skin is generally thick. And a mouth. And eyes. Of course eyes.
Where do they get the mask anyway?? If the mom is a cubone, it'll take it's mom's mask and bone. If it's a marowak, I geuss they turn into a skeleton pretty quickly or the babies drag their mom's body to a place where all the other baby Cubones are and wait for them to turn into a skeleton, pull off their mom's face and place it on their face. Which is kinda gross considering what's there.... But sweet too. Which is why Cubones are awesomesauce. I just want to huggle them all. <3, so adorable. Back on track. So, post what you think's there and an explanation on how they get it. Maybe there's a burial ground for dead female marowaks/cubones who are captive since for some reason they can have eggs and not die. Maybe it's the fact the egg scares the mom, since she has instincts that she's gonna die pretty soon and ends up dying of shock.... So, what do you think? But where do captive ones get it? Does some Bone Mask Fairy tuck a bone and a mask in there which will grow as it ages? Heehee. Bone mask fairy! I must draw a picture of a female cubone with fairy wings handing out bone masks and leg bones! -------------------- Hmm...I licked a Ravyn and now I'm purple. That was odd.

Based on the fact that it changes when Cubone evolves, I'd say it IS the mom's skull, but it sort of acts like a skin graft. On the topic of "what if she has more than one?", well, you only really get one egg in a 'litter'...
I don't know... We should all make one substantial theory and call it the Cubone Theory. xD... Probably not. -------------------- I can offer you any Pokemon from any generation, shiny or not, on Black and White. PM me for details.

A popular theory I thought up before I heard it is that Cubones are actually Kangaskhan babies. When their mothers are killed by poacher, they put the skull on to keep the mother with them at all times. When they become Marowaks, the skull fuses with them. Of course, this could be wrong, because in one anime episode, a Cubone was slapped and the skull spun around the head.

I once saw a theory that a cubone was a baby Kangeskhan that lost its mother at a young age. It always made enough sense to me. This is exactly what I thought too. Yeah I heard that once before but never actually thought much about it -------------------- |

Under Cubone's mask is his head. I also doubt that Kangaskan has any connection to Cubone/Marowak.
