Here is what i propose......If you already have said pokemon egg in your dex, instead of it saying "—Pokémon Egg" in your poketch, it say "—(insert pokemon name) Egg." Me, personally, i like to know if i already have the egg in my dex or not, so i know whether to keep it, or toss it to the shelter so other people can have the chance to have it. I would love to have a complete egg dex eventually and i'm not good with recognizing images. So most the time when i get an egg from the lab, and it hatches, turns out i already have it


So, if ya'll could take it under consideration to change this text, it would be much appreciated! If my post made sense anyways....

Thats why it says "Mystery Egg" if you don't have it...

Edit - Plus, if the text changes when you obtain an egg, there's no point in hatching it.

it defeats the whole system of trying to hatch the egg to see what it contains...

Edit revised: I think he meant that if you have already hatched the egg once, it could say the eggs name in party just like it does in shelter, so you can dispose of eggs you already have hatched pokemon of. (Like in shelter, you can 'dispose' of eggs you don't already have by not clicking them, if that makes sense)

Ymo: thats exactly what i was trying to say lol. Im talkin about in the party view. I know it says mystery egg and all that in the shelter, but i haven't been going to the shelter recently. Theres eggs in the lab that won't be in the shelter. I basically would like it to say on the party page "Hey, you already have me, get rid of me darn it".


So yea, plain english, in party display, if you already hatched the egg, i'd like it to say what kinda egg it is instead of just "Pokemon Egg". It'd help for those trying to get any of the dex achievements....which im going to be doing realllll soon.

I believe my first post specified in the "Poketch"......meaning it will only be displayable to yourself, and not to other users, nor will you be able to goto other users pages and see. Only in the Poketch, thats it. If im not mistaken, the poketch is only viewable by yourself, not other ppl. To make it even MORE clear: http://gpxplus.net/poketch

Okay, so how about this:

You adopt an egg from the lab/shelter.
When you go into your poketch, it displays the egg name like so:

[pokemon] egg, if [pokemon] has been acquired.
Mystery egg, if the pokemon the egg is for has not been aqcuired.
When you go into another users pokemon party, it will display 'pokemon egg' without fail.


As for reasons why not to just check the dex:
One might have several hundreds of pokemon species. Going through all of these species just to check if the egg in question just might be of that species is tedious, especially if you could just have the egg name state if you have it or not.

I see no other reason for the egg-naming to be like it is now, than punish those who adopt eggs from the lab. (and I don't think that is their intention at all.)

Ok.....I get what your saying here. Im supposed to click on each and every single pokemon in the dex to see if the egg image matches. Waste about an hr or two trying to find it, and then come to the conclusion that i never had the egg before. So, thats an hr or two down the drain that could be used interacting with other users pokemon. Seriously, are you that crazy to do that? I know Im not lol


Maybe a moderator should close this topic before i start making people feel stupid.....


Edit: @Ymo: At least SOMEONE gets the point. Please, put it into english if you can so other people won't ask a billion questions and then feel like a complete a** when they realize they are on a totally separate path then this suggestion lol.


Btw, no offense to you Crimson Tiger, but seriously, use your head. Trying to make life more convenient for users, and a bit more quick. Going through the dex = time consuming.

Yea, thats basically it. Such a simple concept and it feels like.........its not getting through to ppl

Actually this makes full sense to me, perhaps it should be put in the suggestions thread instead of here, so that it is more likely to be considered.

And it isn't like it isn't possible for them to program this in, they do the same thing with your tabs when you look on your own public page, even if you have some thing, like your inventory, set on 'privet' you yourself can still see it while there, even though others can't.

I personally would really like this, not because I forget what eggs I have, but just because it annoys me that it doesn't show that I have already had that egg before.
