Global PokédeX Plus Forums _ Bug and Errors _ Oddity With Daycare Offspring

Posted by: Voltron Apr 20 2017, 10:40 PM

Yesterday, I put a Lunatone and Ditto into the Daycare. When I went to look at my Daycare Offspring page, I saw there are two different entries for the offspring of the Lunatone and Ditto, they're just switched around. I haven't moved them since putting them in the Daycare, and they're the same exact Pokémon, so I don't know why it has two separate entries. The offspring are different, so I don't know what's determining whether they're from the Ditto-Lunatone pair or the Lunatone-Ditto pair. When looking at the heritage page, all the offspring are together. Like I said, they're the same Pokémon, and they've been active congruently, but show up separately.

It happens sometimes. It's a know bug I believe. I have a few breeding pairs that have done this over the years.

This is a thing that happens when you breed Ditto with a genderless pokemon. The gender is determining the positioning of the parents on each pokemon's heritage. For some reason it's possible to get eggs with the same parents in opposite positions. The offspring page uses the same order to identify pairs, and doesn't consolidate pairs where the difference is just that the order is reversed.
