Do you have an object that you treat like it's a living thing (hold conversations with it, get mad at it when it doesn't work, etc.)?
When I was in elementary school, my best friend gave me a fuzzy white cat keychain. I was obsessed with that thing. I carried it to school every day in one of those cylinder shaped pencil sharpeners, made a tiny cardboard bed for it, and generally treated it like my baby. Unfortunately, because it was so tiny (about an inch tall), it was eventually lost by the same friend who gave it to me in a pond-related accident. I have a doll that was given to me when I was about 2 years old, I carried it everywhere, played with it, slept with it, I would have it sit at the table with me while I ate or colored or whatever, I even gave it a name "Dolly" not the most creative but I was only 2 anyway. I still have it because it's so special to me but I don't treat it the same anymore. It sits on a shelf where it's safe.
