Which 4th generation starter did you choose ,and why?

In pokemon pearl I chose piplup because I usually choose water types. no idea why.
He is now a level 65 empoleon called Percy

In pokemon platinum I went with turtwig because I love turtles! plus I think the torterra ground/grass combo really helped uh...some how.My Torterra is called Albero (wich is Italian for tree or something like that)

I went with Chinchar. I usually go fire types, with exception to my very first Red playthrough, in which I took Squirtle.

I choose piplup. I went with it because at the time, I thought EVERYBODY got chimchar, so I wanted something different, plus I liked the way Empoleon looks. Now, I'm more of an Infernape guy.

Personally, I chose chimchar. I'm a serious fire type fan though and have pretty much always started with fire, at least on my first play throughs.

I had a hard time choosing. I had looked up the game a lot before I got it and I loved Piplup! I was gonna get it but decided I didn't like the evolutions. I didn't want Turtwig, but my older brother liked Chimchar best, so what do you know, I took Chimchar. It's now an Infernape lvl 70. Moves: Close Combat, Fire Blast, Flare Blitz, Cut. I never choose a specific type really. I just choose what I think is nicest looking and useful further into the game.

While I usually pick Fir-Type Starters, I hated Chimchar. Beause it wasn't awesome enough for me and Piplup was cuter. And it was a penguin and I think penguins own monkeys anyday.

My only problem is that Drazzy, my Empoleon, is SLOW AS HELL. So, so very slow.

I chose Turtwig, because my Mother used to play the pokemon games. She stopped once she beat Pearl. That's basically all she cares about, and is currently awaiting Platinum, so she can beat that too. She always chooses the fire types because she's like that. Looks for Power, and that's it. I guess she sees in fire types. And I never wanted to choose water and get the advantage over her, and I guess I just like grass types a little. No idea why.

i kinda got all three because my brother has pearl so we both got all three but i guess chimcar or turtwig would of been my choice because monkeys own penguins and i think torterra is cool

i chose chimchar because, uh..., its a habit... Ive always chosen fire since red, then if i got the version's opposite, i would get water but i might have gotten grass.

I picked Turtwig! He was awesome and extremely helpful in the entire game. But since Shade (my finance) has pearl I was able to get all three.

I initially started out with Turtwig cause...

1. Torterra is the rawest looking Pokemon ever, and I like ground types.
2. Infernape seemed like a copy of Blaziken.
3. Piplup was too Torchic-ish, and pretty lame.

So I beat the game with Torterra. Then I restarted (I sent all my good stuff to my brother for safe keeping) and now I have a Monferno, cause after fighting the E4, I realized how raw Infernape was x3

I choose Piplup, since I love Water-types. I always choose the Water-type, since I received my Red version. Even if the Water-starter looks like a genetically mutated three-eyed half-braindead floppity barely-fishlike SOB, I'd probably choose it over a Fire- or Grass-type.

My Empoleon is currently on Level 66 or 67 (yeah, I neglected the poor thing) and its nickname is Ferdinand.

I picked Turtwig because I have used grass-type starters in every instance of the game except one (I picked Cyndaquil in GSC). Bulbasaur is STILL my favorite, and I have actually mated my ♂ and ♀ for another Turtwig.

I chose Turtwig in Pearl because in Blue I started off with Bulbasaur and I was getting tired of using Water-type starters from Silver to LeafGreen. Though, I used the GTS as soon as I had it avaliable to me in order to get all 3 starters. In Diamond I started off with Piplup to continue the chain of Water-type starters. In Platinum I'll probably start off with Turtwig again, then I'll use the GTS to obtain the other 2 starters.

I have always been a grass fan. I started blue with Bulbasaur, silver with Chikorita, sap with Treecko, and Pearl with Turtwig.

The grass types seem to always change from the next gen and are unlike the one from b4. Yeah Venusaur and Maganium have that flower thing going on, and Venusaur and Torttera have the giant bitch thing going on. But what is better then having a friggin turtle with a TREE on it. But What was not amazing about the Treecko evos? Even the anime made him amazing and the anime tends to be a little rude to pokes.
