I'm more casual; IV's and EV's confuse the crap out of me. I've thought of at least attempting EV training a few times and trying to go a little competitive, but keep turning it down because I'm afraid it'll take over a part of my life that doesn't need to be taken over.

Most of the competitive battlers I've seen have all been those guys that just take everything too seriously and will shun you if you do anything unconventional, and it's left a foul taste in my mouth. I really dislike the competitive battling scene, and I also don't see the point in worrying about natures, IVs, or EVs. If you want to battle, use a battle sim. if you're not a competitive battler, all you're doing is wasting time because they make almost no difference in-game.

I go casual when playing through the game, only vaguely paying attention to stats to see if I need to change the Pokemon in my party for something with better stats, but other than that, I just let it be.
But post game, I do EV train, and if I have the time, I breed for good IVs. I don't really do competitive battling though, way too tedious for me, I prefer just battling with some friends of mine who also EV train. This post has been edited by mptiger: Jan 1 2012, 10:29 PM |

Casual. I haven't the first clue to EV training.

Casual. I have no interest in competitive battling. I have attempted to IV/EV train in the past though, for when my cousin and I had a chance to battle. She's really into competitive battling and would always crush me, so I tried to make a stronger team, but couldn't understand how to properly IV/EV train.

Competitive training has no place in my games. I use what Pokemon I want regardless of stats or how good they are.

I don't really have an interest in competitive battling any more but I still EV Train a fair bit, just for areas like the Battle Subway. Plus, I enjoy EV Training.

Personally, I play purely for fun. My favorite part of the game is breeding. I've considered EV training a team or two for competitive battling, but I just don't know enough about how to go about it. Tried to learn a couple times, but still don't quite get it.

Pre-story gameplay: I prefer to simply catch and use the Pokemon regardless of EV/IVs. It's just easier that way.
Post-story gameplay: IV breeding and EV training to battle people online or within Battle Subway. I know how to RNG abuse so it's easier to IV breed. -------------------- |

I prefer casual play. Very rarely do I battle online.

I play the Pokemon games for fun, so i'm more of a casual player indeed. XD I really couldn't care less for IV's/EV's in game as I don't battle online etc.

I only casually play and even then, more often than not, it's with Nuzlocke rules. I never was able to grasp EV training orz.

Casual. I would rather have more fun training my own way then training to get my Pokes to a certain stat so they can keep up with all those competitive people.

Casual for the most part, but I actually had fun breeding and EV training Pokemon for the PWT when I was done with everything else in White 2.

I'm more casual with my playstyle, and don't go to any tornaments or anything anyways.

EV training had been too much of a hassle to give a lick about, I'd much rather pick up another title before sitting down and grinding hidden values.
With XY coming out, it's more accessible which has caused me to take an interest. This post has been edited by Whimsicott: Oct 21 2013, 12:57 PM |

I'll go for casual play, though I do like to breed to get a good nature for each pokemon. And I like to raise them, so they are stronger than wild pokemon of the same level, but that's all, I don't really like competitive gameplay in pokemon.
