I was playing my Leaf Green when I accidentally hit my thumb on the power switch while I was saving. The game restarted and when I pressed A at the title screen I got that message. Did I get it because I restarted the game while it was saving?


EDIT:

I loaded the save and took a few steps to the left and tried saving. It worked but I then realized that I had lost the Pikachu I had been searching for for about 20 minutes. The good news is that the message is gone, the bad news is that I lost Pikachu.

that does exactly what it tells, instead of overwriting your previous save file, it makes a new one, and then erases th old one, that way, your game doesn't get corrupted or unusable if that happens.

so, the file it was making isn't complete, thus, it erases it, an loads the last save down, which was in the memory. dont worry about that message much, it's actually more good than bad.

That's happened to me a few times... Not fun.

all it really means is you turned it off while saving. it doesnt do anything except maybe make you lose some stuff if you havnt saved for a while(similar to when your gameboy dies before you save and you lose some of your data.)

With FireRed, when I try to migrate them in while playing Pearl, it won't load it, then when I load FireRed again, it says it's been deleted...

Is this similar to the problem?

At least your game is safe Sneasel. I brought a second hand Sapphire game and dicovered it had been tampered with or something - it would corrupt every week or so. I ended up getting really annoyed and upset - I lost two female starters I had picked up and the only Shiny I've ever caught (a Wingull)

oh my god, i would be so pissed if i lost a shiny. you should have gone back and said that the game is broken



@rukario: is your entire game deleted, to the point where you start over again? if so, thats nowhere near the same problem

To Dark Thunder: I'd brought the game online and by then I'd gotten rid of the sales info...it took me a while to twig that the game itself was broken since I didn't look at it too often.

Decontrolled@ Happened to me and my leafgreen. A fake, it really affected me aswell.

I finally got to the elite four, saved and went against them. Died and the file erased.
I spent 2 years thinking that if I lost to them, any game I had. My file would delete DX

Oh it was fun shoving level: 70's against the elite four but it ruined my Crystal, silver and Leafgreen adventures.
Thankfully when I got my proper leafgreen "From the awesome Gamestation" I learned when you lose, it doesn't vanish.
So yeah, people who think selling fakes will do little harm other than anger...It nearly took my gaming experience!
If I wasn't as loyal as I was and still am. I'd have moved on, however because it took a week before my file erased. I couldn't refund.

Message: If they say "1 week guarentee and it's from Hong kong. Ignore it, people set the game to work as long as the guarentee will expire, Not cool!!!
I totally avoid any online shopping "Ebay" from hong-Kong now.

Rukario@ Are both games from the same language? One isn't japanese and the other english??
I think you can only migrate the same language games or that happens. If not then I'm not quite sure what you mean

Well I'm glad that my game is okay.
I'm pretty sure that if you try to migrate a pokemon, and the gba game deletes, then your game is fake.

And what happened to my very first Diamond game? Meh, the game froze, the whole data was erased

@Sparkblast: The games are the same language as far as I know, but the FireRed was from a Amazon second-hand seller, Pearl being from Amazon itself. Maybe he had American game paks, I don't know.

My emerald and other games data just vanish and when I save then restarted the gameboy the file is gone...........

Like the others said, your game should be fine.

My cousin used to come to me and complain that his wasn't saving any data. Turns out, he was turning it off before it made the little "beep" sound.

There are a LOT of fake/bootleg copies of the third generation games out there. It's very easy to mistake for a legit copy, though. I've purchased six different games from four different sellers on e-Bay, and every single one's been a fake with the corrupted save problem. I also cannot get a fake to connect to a legit copy of Ruby.

If it's a R/S/E, but the label is flat colored instead of metallic, it's a fake. If you can see a sticker label on the back of the circuit through the transparent plastic, it's PROBABLY a fake. Nintendo didn't do that to legit copies.

Any third generation game: Look in the edge of the cartridge, where it connects to the GB. If you don't see a copyright line or a serial number line just above the contacts on the board, it is DEFINITELY a fake.

My friend and i were arguing that you can't migrate pokemon from a japenese version to an english one. He showed me it. and i actually believed i asked him if i can see his game and found out it was fake. I told him it was cause it didn't have the nintendo seal. He said watevr. Then he migrated again and both his japenese firred and english diamond sav e files were deleted. Wats up w/ that?
