anyway as all of us know gyarados was the first one for most of us, but except for gyara what was your first shiny in the 2nd gen games?

mine was a pidgey that looked weird and i killed it.. later to find out that it was very rare to find those..

Mine was a Nidoran (m) in the Safari Zone in FireRed. I had no idea what a shiny was, and was like 'OMG GLITCH' and 'Is my DS broken?' Still, I wanted to catch it because it looked all special... but it fled. fff.

First shiny I actually got was quite later in the game - a shiny Sentret on Five Island.

Edit: Derp, realized this was actually just gen 2. Don't have any gen 2 games. :|

lol sneasel creep me out when crystal was released, first brown and then black in a totally different location.. i don't even remember the shiny sprite.. was it always pink?

^ Sneasel used to be a little more towards the purpleish side.

My first shiny was magikarp I think. I also had hoothoot that I evolved to noctowl. I'm not sure which one was first though.

Mine was a shiny charmander that i hatched out of an egg in silver only to be recreated on firered which was my first shiny on that game hatched from the first egg as well (charmander has always been lucky for me XD) but because i was able to recreate it in FR i have sense migrated it all the way to White where it is still a huge part of my battling team

Mine was a dodou in the safari zone in fire red. That battle seemed like, forever. Good thing I caught it though. But now it's gone....

My first shiny (that I know of) was back on crystal in one of the little lakes on the path to Mt. Silver. But it was a poliwag, and it was.. well.. still blue. I had no idea what a shiny was (even if I had already caught the Gyara, but hey, I was six..) all I knew was that it sparkled when it appeared, ha ha ha.. but it looked so annoying with the sparkles every time i used it and I didn't' know it was rare, so it was left to rot away in the PC..

My one and only from second gen was a self bred shiny Magby in Gold Version. I didn't realize it was shiny when I hatched it, but only when it did that shiny animation did I realize that it was different. I was shocked for sure. *_*

I unfortunately never got any shinies in the Gen 2 games. ): I'm currently soft resetting for a shiny starter in Heart Gold, but it won't be the same.

My first shiny was a Golbat in Gen 4.

Firered was the first Pokémon game I played, hunderds of hours went into it. That's why it's the only game I've encountered shiny's in. At the time I had no idea what shiny's were. I remember encountering a strange looking Meowth and Diglett. Not thinking "O that looks cool I want that!" nooo.. Couple of weeks ago I got a shiny Weedle though and it is now a Beedrill.

Haven't played 2 gen until quite recently. Still no shinies.
None in HG/SS either.

My first Shiny was a Shroomish in Hoenn. (Emerald? Not sure)
Of course, I was out of Pokeballs.

Other than Red Gyarados which is the norm in every game g/s/c game... i caught a Psyduck, at the time it looked purple.... not blue.

Myeh. There weren't shinies when I was playing, so I never caught one...At least not that I know of. I haven't played anything past Gold/Silver, but I'll probably pick up HG/SS soon.

Mine... was a Gyarados.

Now before people get angry at me about this, it isn't the one we all remember. I wanted to see if the rumour of breeding a red gyarados with another one was true, so I went searching for one. I found a male one in the lake of rage, but needed a female one, so I killed it and kept looking. Soon, I found a female red Gyarados, captured it, and tried to breed it. No eggs were made.

It may not be the first one as back then I didn't know about shiny pokemon, and only now realize how extremely lucky I was to have found so many after that.

My first shiny in gen 2 was a shiny Zubat. I found it in Ilex forest and accidentally killed it, then found out it was rare like an hour later...

My first shiny I got was a shiny Metapod in Leafgreen when I was around 8. For some reason I wasn't playing on my original saved game so I couldn't keep it. Right now I'm hunting for a shiny Caterpie on GPX so I can get that Metapod and it's not exactly going that well.

My first shiny was a Natu in the Safari Zone in Gen 3 when I was 9. I was looking up cheat codes if there were something useful to beat the E4 until I came across about the shiny Natu. It said that a shiny Natu would appear in a certain location in the Safari Zone if you were popping a wheelie with the Acro bike. I didn't know that's not that a shiny pokemon appearing is by chance, but I was young back then. I did it and after a few tries the shiny Natu appeared.

Rattata. It was the only non-Gyarados shiny I caught in gen 2 and remained the only one I found and successfully caught until gen 5 so it was pretty special for me.

A shiny charmeleon in a friend safari in Y.

I was only allowed to have my own pokemon game at 16 (Pokemon Y in 2013, blame it on strict parents while growing up), before that i was playing on emulator with older games
So i was just looking for a female braixen for whatever reason and instead i get a sparkly golden boi.

His name is Yaguul and he is my best friend whomstd've i love and cherish, i'll take him to every gen

It was a Zubat in the Dark Cave. I had no idea that shinies were a thing and panicked because I thought my game was glitching. Killed it right fast.

I didn't learn about shinies until I ran into the Gyarados later in the game. Even then, I had no idea how rare shinies really were. Also encountered a shiny Delibird in Ice Cave but it fled the battle. I had 999+ hours invested in Silver since it was my first pokemon game ever.

Mine was a Caterpie I came across in the National Park in Silver, which eventually evolved into a pink Butterfree. At the time I had no idea random shinies were a thing, and I think a trainer in-game specifically mentioned a pink Butterfree in relation to the red Gyarados, so I assumed it existed in every game as a reference to the one from the anime.

A pretty lil greeny golbat in Cave of Origin. And, what a surprise, I killed it :'D I really don't remember the first shiny I was able to obtain. A magikarp, I think. That's the oldest shiny I still have.
